For over 60 years, the Produttori del Barbaresco have stood for an uncompromising commitment to quality, supported by over 50 winegrowers who contribute their finest grapes from Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso to the cooperative. The Barbaresco 2022 is a prime example of collective precision and classic style: the Nebbiolo grapes come from selected municipal vineyards, some of which border the crus, on limestone and clay-rich soils. Vinification was carried out using traditional methods: extended maceration, ageing for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further period of rest in the bottle.

In the glass, a clear, luminous garnet red. The nose is delicate and brooding: rosehip, sour cherry, violet, dried herbs and a subtle hint of tar combine to create an elegant, almost ethereal bouquet. On the palate, it is precise, with focused fruit, cool minerality and firm tannins. The balance between power and finesse is exemplary; the acidity provides a solid foundation without any harshness, and the finish is long, linear and imbued with a quiet nobility. With the 2022 vintage, Produttori del Barbaresco has produced an archetypal Barbaresco – approachable in its youth, yet with clear potential for a long, dignified ageing process. "The 2022 Barbaresco is a rather rich, heady wine. Dark cherry and plum fruit, cloves, liquorice and mocha develop as the 2022 reveals its considerable depth. It is one of the few 2022s that is quite resonant in texture. The aromatics could be a little more pronounced and the tannins could do with a little more refinement, but these qualities were almost impossible to find in the 2022 vintage. The inclusion of juice from Riserva lots is a great help. All in all, this is an outstanding result." Vinous
