"The sandy, chalky soil is associated with the exquisite finesse of this site, and the 2020 is certainly the most elegant of the three cru I tasted. It exudes both purity and an appropriate fullness of fruit. Black raspberries and redcurrants are interspersed with violet flavours. It's perhaps a little more approachable and rounded than usual, almost lush in its layers, then tightens up as firm, fine tannins drive the intense, stony-mineral finish. With just 2.28 hectares shared by three winegrowers, Asili is one of the smallest wineries in the cooperative (only Pajè is smaller)." Decanter

"The Barbaresco Riserva Asili 2020 shows excellent balance and freshness thanks to the cool evenings that lasted until the end of September. Asili is not far from Pora, and both sites have similar sandy soils. However, Asili is cut off from the warm air currents of the Tanaro River. This wine is therefore brooding, with soft tannins, a linear texture and a well-defined mouthfeel. The 2020 vintage is more accessible overall, but you get the deep depth that Nebbiolo offers.
