Montegrilli is a declaration of love for the Langhe terroir and a deliberate departure from the estate's Barolo style: there are no woody notes; instead, the focus here is on the pure essence of Nebbiolo. The grapes come from a vineyard covering just around 1.4 hectares in the Ravera area near Novello. They ripen on sandy, limestone-rich soil beneath the sun on the south-facing slopes, in a microcosm that ensures immediate, elegant freshness. Following hand-picking, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, followed by eight months' ageing in steel.

A brilliant ruby red with a delicate orange rim. On the nose, subtle notes of wild strawberry flesh, a hint of white pepper, rose petals and fresh summer flowers unfold. On the palate, it is light, supple and yet juicy: clear fruit, lively acidity and a graceful lightness. The wine is distinctive and expressive — a young Nebbiolo that brings immediate pleasure whilst showcasing the noble grape variety and its origin in a focused manner. SUPERIORE.DE
