    A Pinot Grigio with ambition, origin and character – far from convention. In the chalky hills of Buttrio, Paolo Meroi presses a white wine from old, deep-rooted vines that convincingly refutes the preconception of simple Pinot Grigio. The wine is matured partly in used wood and partly in stainless steel – precisely dosed to give the variety depth without sacrificing its freshness.

    Light straw yellow in colour with golden reflections. The aroma is inviting and complex: ripe pears, white peaches, dried herbs, hints of candied lemon, almond blossom and a fine hint of vanilla and roasted hazelnut. On the palate, the wine impresses with substance and freshness in equal measure: juicy, structured, with a grippy texture and lively, well-integrated acidity. The finish is dry, clear and characterised by salty minerality – a finish that emphasises origin rather than effects. A Pinot Grigio for connoisseurs that confidently explores the possibilities of this often underestimated grape variety – while remaining unmistakably Meroi: subtle, characterised by the terroir and with a touch of nonchalance.
