Here comes the new single-varietal Pinot Grigio from one of our absolute favourite winemakers for years. In addition to his Friulano vineyards, Dario Raccaro has been cultivating a small vineyard planted with 100% Pinot Gris vines in Guyot training for many years. Since the 2022 vintage, he has been selling just 2,000 bottles of this fine wine and we are delighted to have received an allocation. Wonderful Pinot Gris Riserva from selected individual vineyards on the valley floor around the village centre of Kurtinig an der Weinstraße. Named after the small Curubella vineyard, this Pinot Grigio expresses the unique and very expressive terroir in a very special way. Golden yellow with copper-coloured reflections, which are the result of a longer maceration period. On the nose, autumnal notes of medlar, jasmine and white pepper, rounded off by elderberry, marjoram, melon and orange zest. On the firm palate, powerful and expressive of candied fruit, spice with floral elements. In the long finish then traces of acacia honey and pastry.
