Barolo Prapò DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Barolo Prapò comes from Serralunga d'Alba and is, as expected, the most powerful and structured of the various single-vineyard wines from this ambitious winery. At the same time, it is also the most closed at the beginning and, with its introverted nature, made for a long maturing period. This site is one of the last where the grapes ripen, so they have plenty of time to develop slowly and carefully each year.
Bright, medium-bodied ruby garnet. A potpourri of floral and spicy notes on the nose, plus some peach and strawberry. Very firm on the palate with initially sinewy serralunga tannin and notes of iron, savory, menthol, licorice, lavender, preserved dark cherries and dried blackberries. With further aeration, there is a thrilling round and full mouthfeel with such precise Nebbiolo style that it is just a joy. Patience is required for this exceptional Barolo, which is guaranteed to be rewarded after further years of bottle ageing! SUPERIORE.DE
"A shade deeper than the rest, a lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Lots of concentration on the nose while poised at the same time. Much more brooding and slumbering on the palate with perfectly integrated oak and just the merest hint of cinnamon bark. A big impact of fruit on the palate without being heavy. Fantastic layer of coating tannins underneath the fruit adding structure and depth to the finish. Long tannins, enormously long strawberry flavours." Jancis Robinson
"The 2018 Barolo Prapò is a tightly wound bundle of energy. Today, the Prapò comes across as reticent, but there is enough depth beneath the tannins and acid to make me think all it needs is time to unwind. Sage, tobacco, dried leaves, licorice, leather and earthy tones add gravitas to this potent Serralunga Barolo from the Ceretto family." Vinous
"The 2018 Prapò comes across as surprisingly gracious. The floral verve that is typical of the 2018 vintage superimposes classic Serralunga aromas of forest floor and iron. Similar flavours echo on the palate along with mounting salinity and slightly powdery tannins. This is an early-drinking Barolo by Serralunga d’Alba standards." Decanter
"Star anise, camphor, rose and underbrush aromas shape the nose. On the palate, tightly wound, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity accompany cranberry, orange rind and oak-driven spice before a grippy, rather drying close." Wine Enthusiast
"Pleasant, fresh nose of raspberries and creamy minerals, colored with hints of sous-bois that verge on truffle character. Full-to medium-bodied and very silky, with a lighter framework of fine tannin this year. Long, balanced finish. Prapò is always a pretty Barolo and 2018 is no exception. Should be nicely approachable from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Prapò is firm, structured and built like a little tank. This organic wine showcases that distinctive power that is always part of the Serralunga d'Alba playlist and defies even this lower-intensity vintage. The bouquet shows dark fruit, ferrous earth and crushed stone. The mineral character is strong in this wine." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 3 articles per customer “Selezione Vecchie Vigne” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC 2017 (BIO)
Emidio pep's wines are in a word: timeless. The 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo shows its pedigree with elegant aromas of black fruits, smoke, tar and powdery liquorice. Fine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can have not only a rich texture but also a well-maintained and fresh acidity thanks to the region's cool mountain climate. The tannins are firm and polished, followed by delicate little accents of dried herbs and crushed stone. Wine lovers in a hurry decant it over several hours, more thoughtful connoisseurs let it mature in the bottle for another 15 years. SUPERIORE.DE
"In the philosophy of our company, the ageing of the wines has always played a decisive role. This is the reason why we are proud today to be able to offer many of the oldest vintages directly from our cellar. We differentiate as follows: In each year we make two bottlings. Younger vintages that we put on the Italian market come from younger vineyards and the wines from the old vines we let mature in our cellar for at least 5 years and then only gradually put them on the global market. For better differentiation, the latter wines bear the seal 'Selezione Vecchie Vigne'. Another important aspect is that all bottles that are more than 10 years old are decanted and individually checked before they start their journey to our customers, re-corked." Emidio pepe
"This is one of the cornerstones of Abruzzo, a winery that follows a strict tradition but also appeals to every new generation of wine drinkers that comes across a bottle. Emidio pep's wines are in a word: timeless. The 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo shows its pedigree with elegant aromas of black fruits, smoke, tar and powdery liquorice. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is easy to drink even in hot vintages like the 2017, thanks to the region's cool mountain climate, and you get not only a deep textural richness but also wonderfully preserved and fresh acidity. The tannins are firm and polished, followed by delicate little accents of dried herbs and crushed stone." Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Vecchie Vigne lifts from the glass with a bouquet that mixes sweet and sour. A balsamic tinge blends with black tea, stone dust and dried cherries, all accentuated with exotic spice. It opens with vividly ripe cherry-berry fruits propelled by juicy acidity, creating a sensation of boundless energy. This finishes with tremendous length yet is still vibrant as dusty tannins combine with tart wild berries and spiced citrus. The 2017 is already beautifully expressive and on the cusp of being released from the Emidio pepcellar." Vinous

Limitation of 1 articles per customer“Löwengang” Chardonnay Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Sparkling, rich straw yellow colour, rich, complex aroma with a delicate, pleasantly creamy nose and the scent of vanilla, mango and fresh pineapple. Full, opulent and full of tension on the palate, juicy and salty, very elegant flavour, accompanied by a fresh, well-balanced acidity. The ideally integrated wood note and the fruity, complex body form a harmonious and impressive unit. The long-lasting finish is refined with a subtle hint of bitter almond. SUPERIORE.DE
"Beautiful flint notes, meadow flowers and limes on the nose. Fine grip on the palate, herbal notes and fresh fruit perfectly balanced, white flowers, long, animating acidity, salty finish." Weinwisser
"Sparkling, pale straw yellow with light green nuances. Opens with a cool hint of mint, nectarine and gooseberry, some flint. Shows emphatically fresh notes on the palate, savoury, persistent, quite light-bodied overall." Falstaff
"The Alois Lageder 2020 Chardonnay Löwengang opens to a classy touch of reduction that recalls flint or struck match. It lifts quickly to reveal pear, quince, golden apple, honey glaze, vanilla wafer and saffron. There is a spicy side as well, with pink peppercorn and lots of glacier-like minimality." Wine Advocate
"The Löwengang Chardonnay is an icon of Italian Chardonnay and continues to demonstrate the Lageder winery's commitment to producing wines of the highest quality. Aromas of spiced baked apples, Comice pears, candied lemon peel, white flowers and baking spices are present. On the palate, the wine is rich and broad, with a creamy texture and hints of vanilla and sweet and savoury spices. The wine finishes with the energy and pulse of the mountains, showing both the minerality and important acidity that gives this wine the structure for the long haul." Wine Enthusiast
"A rich white wine in a graceful frame, with a pronounced salinity that works with vibrant acidity to define the medley of baked pineapple and persimmon, toasted almonds and pastry cream, Meyer lemon peel and elderflower. Expressive and well-knit, with a long finish that reflects the spectrum of flavours and contains additional mineral and spicy elements." Wine Spectator
"Deep nose with a sharp mineral undertone to the complex flavours of white sesame, praline, grilled spices and roasted pineapple. Broad and savoury on the palate with medium to full body and a very tangy, engaging finish. Long, savoury and concentrated." James Suckling
"The Chardonnay Löwengang, which was first produced in 1984, is a prime example of the variety in Alto Adige. It comes from the best plots of 30 to 80-year-old Chardonnay vines in Magrè, near the winery, and is fermented spontaneously in barriques, followed by 11 months on the lees. The result in 2020 is a wine reminiscent of a Puligny, with a nose of flint and matches that introduces a clean and fresh, intense, savoury and persistent palate. The juicy complexity of melon, stone fruit and tropical fruit gives it a wonderful vibrancy and potential for medium-term cellaring." Decanter

The grapes for Gaglioles Riserva come from vineyards in Panzano that used to belong to Le Cinciole and neighbouring Gagliole. Dark and full-bodied in the glass, it shows the full range of the Conca d'Oro area of Panzano, but does so in a pleasantly restrained style that is typical of the elegant 2019. Currently still very young, in a few years it will be much more enjoyable. SUPERIORE.DE
"Harmony and depth in this version that bears the ancient name of this beautiful farm. Complex nose, blackberries and blueberries together with mentholated touches and floral nuances, of carnation, dense and taut mouth, savory tannins, juicy finish, with mentholated-floral return." Luca Gardini
"Beautiful aromas of roses and other flowers, together with fresh cherries and lemon rind, following through to a medium body with freshness and vivid intensity to the finish. Spicy at the end." James Suckling
"Only in its second vintage, the certified organic Gagliole 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva addresses the need for a category that sits between the entry-level reds and the high-end Gran Selezione wines. Fruit is sourced exclusively from Panzano for an intense ruby color shaded by elegant darkness. Aromas recall blackberry, graphite, flint and white pepper. This wine prizes freshness, a streamlined mouthfeel and those pretty mineral notes that drive a very long and polished finish." Wine Advocate

“Petresco” Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Deep, dark ruby red colour. Ripe notes of dried small redcurrants and blackberries, plus some smoke and tobacco - this is Sangiovese in its most focussed form. Lush and fleshy on the palate, with a firm body, spicy nuances, multi-layered fruit and a wonderful finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Plenty of sweet spices lie upon the citrus and rich berry fruit. Lots of ripeness here but it is also fresh and flavorful, showing impressive texture, structure and a long, juicy finish." James Suckling
"The 2019 Petresco picks up where the 2018 left off, although it is perhaps a bit more reserved at this stage than its older sibling was. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2019 possesses notable depth and intensity. Time in the glass brings out shades of red/purplish Sangiovese fruit mixed with suggestions of new leather, spice and menthol." Vinous

Barolo DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM
With Bricco Rocche, Bussia, Brunate and Prapò, Ceretto vinifies four masterful single-vineyard Baroli. If you can't decide between these wines, you will find an excellent alternative in the winery's basic Barolo.
Elegant, bright ruby red colour. Dark intensity with great aromatic richness, including ripe cherry and raspberry, paired with noble spice and gentle use of wood. Fruity and floral notes are followed by traces of iron and a delicate hint of liquorice. The flavours are delicate and fragile, and the wine skilfully hides its power in the soft folds of its slender, medium-weight mouthfeel. Polished and clear on the palate, spreading out with delicately creamy tannins, salty undertone, great length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby red with garnet-coloured edges. Seductive, complex nose, raspberries and sour cherries, followed by pepper, nutmeg and some forest floor. Elegant and deep on the palate, refreshing acidity, ripe tannins, lingering, spicy final." Falstaff
"Already white truffle, plum and meat on the nose. Medium to full-bodied with firm and chewy tannins that are polished and racy. Needs time to open up. Better after 2026." James Suckling
"The organic Ceretto 2019 Barolo has a note of juicy cherry and plum that pops up immediately and ties into a floral note, almost musky, like a tuberose or something comparatively fragrant. The fruit leads, but the wine does offer sensual aromas to follow with soft baking spice, mineral and very fine-grained tannins. A blend of fruit comes from Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba. The style is modern classic. This is a very generous wine." Wine Advocate
"A classic! This Barolo opens with aromas of wild cherries, macerated raspberries, drying rose, liquorice, clove and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it shows the regal nature of Nebbiolo with its ripe red fruits balanced by spicy herbs, tobacco and fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

“Ridolfo” Rosso Toscano IGT 2017 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi's latest and strictly limited creation (only 1,659 magnum bottles were filled) was named after Ridolfo, an ancestor of the family. The deliberate blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Pugnitello symbolises the combination of tradition and modernity and at the same time impressively represents the terroir of the Chianti hills.
Dark ruby red, refined bouquet of blackberry, dried plum and eucalyptus. The palate has a firm, taut core, layers of sour cherry, spicy notes such as pepper and liquorice, with a powerful and slightly balsamic finish. The well-proportioned acidity and characteristic tannins guide this fleshy, muscular red into a furious, long-lasting final. A wine full of character and very unique! SUPERIORE.DE
"Inky, dark purple-ruby. While exuding a deep, layered blackberry and cherry perfume, with the most understated yet present oak note imaginable. After aeration, there is a whiff of Médoc, but the palate is less dry and more fruit-driven than you’d expect from a bordeaux. Soft, drying tannins and lots of succulent acidity." Jancis Robinson
"Dark, elegant ruby colour with a delicately brightening rim. Initially somewhat closed on the nose, reminiscent of sealing wax and plenty of spice, needs some time to open up. On the palate with a creamy entry and clear fruit, opens up with savoury, grippy tannins, present and dense." Falstaff
"The 2017 Ridolfo is an intoxicating, exotic wine. Lush and opulent, with bright acids and almost seamless tannins, the 2017 Ridolfo is a very special wine. Mocha, espresso, liquorice, menthol, pine and dried herbs all come together in a strong, deeply structured wine. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pugnitello is remarkable. The only thing the 2017 needs is time." Vinous
"Pithy bouquet of dark forest fruits and spices, topped with notes of undergrowth; powerful yet nuanced course, the robust tannins and acidity in balance, finishes long on notes of berries, liquorice and undergrowth. A wine of character that needs to mature." Vinum

“Pinò" Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2016 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Gulfi's top Pinò is a pure expression of Pinot Nero from Etna. When the Etna appellation began its rise about ten years ago, many producers committed themselves to growing the Burgundian grape variety on the charred slopes of this mighty volcano. Significant plantings of Pinot Nero never occurred, however, as many winemakers opted instead for the autochthonous Nerello Mascalese grape variety. Gulfi remains faithful to Pinot Nero on Etna, the grapes for Pinò come from 800 metres above sea level on the northern slope of the volcano.
It opens with a dark saturated colour and heavy aromas of dried cherries and cassis, plus a hint of floral notes. Its mouthfeel is polished and fresh, on the palate Pinò shows all the characteristics of a lean, compact but very intense wine that has plenty of tension and energy. Its slightly bitter note, a combination of cherry pits and sour citrus fruits, lasts until the tense final. Ultimately, this wine is more an expression of the Etna than the grape variety, its proud yet joyful personality making it irresistible. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2016 Pinò, or Pinot Noir, is much darker in the glass that you might anticipate. It delivers masses of ripe black cherries and sweet autumnal spice, all engulfed in an air of crushed-stone minerality. The textures are silky, cast upon a medium-bodied frame, with tart cherry and balsam herbs energized by brisk acidity. Notes of licorice and rich plum sauce linger as this tapers off with a delicate feel. The Pinò hails from the northern slope of Etna, with vines planted in 2008 at 800 meters of elevation." Vinous
"An excellent pinot noir from Sicily? Yes! The wild-strawberry and sour-cherry nose pulls you into this ripe yet elegant red that's very silky, in spite of the healthy tannins that anchor it at the deep, dark finish. Plenty of life ahead of it!" James Suckling
"The organic Gulfi 2016 Pinò gives us a good look at Pinot Noir cultivated on the volcanic soils of Etna at an impressive 850 meters above sea level where solar luminosity is aplenty but average temperatures are cooler. With a restrained 13% alcohol content, this wine delivers elegant and lean fruit weight with steady aromas of cassis, wild cherry and summer rose. The wine's overall personality remains subdued and true to the grape with plenty of fresh berry fruit spread over a lean and crisp mouthfeel. The results are terrific in this 3,000-bottle release that should hold firm to the 10-year mark and beyond. Despite these extreme growing conditions, this wine remains elegant and pure." “Selezione Vini Vulcanici I Luoghi” Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO) · 3 bottles in gift box
Just 500x sets of 3 of these three exceptional site wines go on sale worldwide with each vintage. We are pleased to present this strictly limited wine journey through the volcanic terroir of the Soave Classico area exclusively in Germany:
There are special places (Italian: luoghi) where the sun and wind behave in an unusual way, where the soil has a different colour and the plants follow their own rhythm. The ancient Romans also knew this and believed that these places were alive, inhabited by a supernatural being, the "genius loci", which determined their character. The three new sites-Soave Fittà, Castellaro and Tremenalto-are among them: They are places that have always been considered particularly suitable for viticulture in the Soave Classico region due to their unique soil characteristics and microclimate, so much so that they have now been officially recognised and included in the production regulations as "UGA" (Additional Geographical Units).
The three Tessari sisters recognised the potential of their volcanic soils in the Soave Classico region early on. For many years, their wines have been among the best that the region produces every year. In recent years, they have identified three small parcels, from which three single-varietal Garganega wines are being sold for the first time today with the 2020 vintage: Fittà, Castellaro and Tremenalto Soave Classico DOC 2020. They were all vinified in the same way, but each embodies the differences of the respective terroir and microclimate and at the same time the richness and diversity of the volcanic soils formed over 20 million years ago. The basaltic rock that makes up these soils has been undisturbed at depth for thousands of years and has dissolved to such an extent that the roots of the vines can easily penetrate it and also assimilate it.
But is it only the soil that determines the uniqueness of a wine? No, it is rather the place to which it belongs, in its entirety, of which the soil is a very important element, but not the only one. A place is made up of its peaks and valleys, its forests, trees and vineyards, a place is also made up of its inhabitants, its people and animals, its climate, the sun, the water and the wind and all these things that interact in a complex, unique and sometimes mysterious equation.
And that's the really brilliant thing about the three strictly limited wines - they embody exactly the essence of the place they come from. SUPERIORE.DE
1 bottle à 0,75l | Fittà Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The vineyard of about 1 hectare is located on the ridge that connects the village of Fittà with the slopes of Monte Castellaro. It is situated on a slightly hilly, south-facing area and comprises a short, stepped slope that descends to the east towards a small cut in the ridge. The subsoil consists of altered basalt volcanite. Two different soil types have been identified here: The first is highly developed and structured, the second is influenced by the slope and indicates a versatile variety of highly altered basaltic rock. The vines were planted as early as the 1940s and are now on average 80 years old.
"This is really serious Soave with loads of candied, licoricy character to the bright peach flesh and peach skin. Medium-to full-bodied with chalky tannins. The finish is long and rapier-like, unleashing the barest floral and stone fruit persuasions. Time will surely help this. Stay tuned!" James Suckling
James Suckling: 95 points
1 bottle à 0,75l | Castellaro Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The Castellaro vineyard consists of a small parcel located on the slopes of the mountain, on the northern slope that rises towards the village of Fittà. The altitude is between 200 and 220 metres above sea level, with a slope of 10-20%. The subsoil consists of altered basalt volcanite. In the Castellaro vineyard, a moderately deep soil has been identified, characterised by a stony profile and cultivated throughout its depth. The vines were planted in the early 1970s and are now over 50 years old.
"A mineral voltage kicks off proceedings, doused with the white pepper and jasmine that often marks great Soave. Flecks of stone fruit, subtle and cool of aura. Extended time on lees (12 months) promotes tension. Toasted almond and raw pistachio, too. This has wonderful thrust of energy and sublime tension. Needless to say, the finish is very long. Among the finest white wines in Italy." James Suckling
James Suckling: 95 points
1 bottle à 0,75l | Tremenalto Soave Classico DOC 2020 (BIO)
The Tremenalto vineyard is located in the Moscatello area, on a west-facing slope with a total area of about 2 hectares. The area called Tremenalto consists of a series of slopes and small valleys that join the Alpone valley to the north of the village of Fittà. The altitude ranges from about 80 to 130 m above sea level, the average slope is 25 %, with extremes of 5 and 40 %. The subsoil consists of metamorphosed basalt volcanite, the vines were planted in the early 1960s and are now over 60 years old. Three different soil types with very different characteristics have been identified in the Tremenalto vineyard, reflecting the diversity of the basaltic rocks and the different intensity of the slope processes to which they have been subjected: the first, strongly reddened by oxidative processes of mineral alteration; the second, deep and developed, on an undulating surface that has been essentially spared erosion; and the third, strongly eroded, shallow and clearly modelled by human activity.
"The ripest and fleshiest wine of the bunch. Clay. Quince marmalade, candied orange zest, dried mango and pineapple chunks. Broad and textural. As reliant on a broad sweep of phenolics across the palate, as it is on an underlying skein of freshness. A big wine, built for an open mind and a diverse table." James Suckling

Limitation of 2 articles per customerBarolo Prapò DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Barolo Prapò comes from Serralunga d'Alba and is, as expected, the most powerful and structured of the various single-vineyard wines from this ambitious estate. At the same time, it is also the most closed at the beginning and, with its introverted nature, is made for a long ageing period. This site is one of the last where the grapes ripen, giving them plenty of time to develop slowly and carefully each year.
Bright, medium ruby-garnet colour. A potpourri of floral and spicy notes on the nose, plus some peach and strawberry. Very firm on the palate with initially sinewy Serralunga tannins and notes of iron, savoury, menthol, liquorice, lavender, preserved dark cherries and dried blackberries. With further aeration, an inspiring round and full mouthfeel emerges with such precise Nebbiolo stylistics that it is a joy to drink. Patience is required for this exceptional Barolo, which is guaranteed to be rewarded after a few more years of ageing in the bottle! SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose of this Prapò is very graceful - violets, cinnamon, almost sage and blood orange - and expresses all the elegance of Cerretta, to which this MGA is very similar. Refreshing and velvety, almost supple, it is a precise Barolo full of elegance despite a certain warmth in the dusty, fierce finish." Decanter
"Soft and velvety, but very fine texture with a medium to full body. Open and juicy with strawberry and cherry character, as well as potpourri and sandalwood. Also roses. Best after 2026, but already very attractive and flattering on the palate." James Suckling
"Cru di Serralunga", a refined refinement that produces a very crisp fruit. Wild plum on the nose, then sage, toasted notes and floral nuances, gerbera. Spicy on the palate, with fruity hints and notes of medicinal herbs. Closes with spicy notes." Luca Gardini
"The Barolo Prapò 2019 is probably the finest Prapò I have ever tasted from Ceretto. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, rose petals, menthol, liquorice and spice are amplified in this broad, explosive Barolo. An enormous kick of Serralunga acidity and tannin emphasises the finish." Vinous
"Intense ruby colour with a light garnet rim. Hints of black tea, some truffle, then lots of raspberry. Full-bodied and dense on the palate, shows plenty of present tannin, is very well integrated, flavours of plums and raspberries, fine melting in the final." Falstaff
"With aromas of dark cherry, preserved raspberries, clove and dried roses, this wine wafts from the glass with grace and class. It offers a firm and well-structured palate, displaying solid tannins and energetic acidity that lifts the notes of mixed wild berries, tobacco and tea, finishing with a chalky minerality." Wine Enthusiast
"The organic Ceretto 2019 Barolo Prapò, whose fruit comes from Serralunga d'Alba, is a natural addition to a portfolio of wines representing some of the best cru sites in the appellation. This wine shows the particular power and fruit concentration that this site is known for, and also a nice touch of sweetness with dried cherries and raspberries softening the mineral tones and ferrous flavours. This wine manages the balancing act between power and elegance - no easy feat." Wine Advocate

Monteverro - a classic French blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot - is a great cru from the Maremma and brims with opulence and diversity. Rich, dark ruby with a black core. Incredibly rich in aromas of dark fruits, chocolate and spices, soft, full body, polished tannins. It is impossible to exaggerate the joy of the magnificence of this wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"The organic Monteverro 2019 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot from a vintage that has natural concentration and richness from the start. The bouquet is complex with ripe fruit, blackberry jam, oak spice and leather. It is a very oak-heavy wine with a soft finish and a hint of sweetness on the finish." Wine Advocate
"Dense, dark ruby with fine violet shimmer. Finely marked nose, fragrant, opens with notes of mint and eucalyptus, then lots of fresh plums and blackcurrant, some blueberry. Lots of juicy dark berry fruit on the palate, hearty, gripping tannin, still needs time." Falstaff
"Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot in a harmonious blend: exquisite berry and flower aromas on the nose. Sandalwood, spices and more; complex, dense attack, the acidity and silky tannins in perfect balance, then nevertheless very fresh with salty-mineral nuances, the final opulent and yet full of elegance. Great." Vinum
"This wine is so concentrated and powerful, with aromas of blackberries, black olives, chilli chocolate, bay leaves and peppercorns. Some iodine too. Full-bodied, yet agile and fresh, with a firm, taut tannic framework. To be tasted from 2025." James Suckling

Barolo Bussia DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Ceretto's Barolo Bussia comes from one of the most famous cru sites bordering the municipalities of Monforte d'Alba and Barolo, sourcing its Nebbiolo fruit from a 7,000 square metre plot in Bussia Soprana in Monforte d'Alba. Just 3,500 1/1 bottles and 200 magnums are bottled.
Sparkling, bright garnet red colour. On the nose, it seduces with delicate notes of wild berries, white cherry, liquorice and truffle. The palate is explosive, lively and full of energy. Its rich and lively flavours of cranberry and pomegranate are very finely elaborated, its sweetness in the middle of the palate and the fine creaminess and fine-meshed tannin, which is characteristic of the best Bussia-Barolos, are impressive. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant medium ruby red colour. More concentration and depth with a clear, mineral core and concentrated but embryonic fruit. On the palate, a fantastic tannic centre with raspberry fruit wrapped in fine, firm tannins. Long and sensationally balanced." Jancis Robinson
"A fine and open Bussia with a smoky, grilled meat and spice character in the plum fruit. Medium to full body. Soft, velvety and juicy. This wine will develop into something very serious. Needs three or four years to open up. Best after 2025." James Suckling
"The Barolo Bussia 2019 is rich, deep and explosive, with all the profound, spicy and balsamic notes that are so typical of Bussia. Bussia is a broad, lush Barolo that is impressive from start to finish. All the elements are very well balanced. There is plenty of tannin, but it is well integrated into the wine. After some time in the glass, the wine reveals its inner perfume and explosive energy. This aromatically beguiling, multi-layered Barolo is magnificent." Vinous
"The Ceretto 2019 Barolo Bussia is an organic wine and a wine of beautiful depth and streamlined intensity. This Barolo offers aromas of dark fruit, but also of crushed stone, rust, a hint of exotic spices or grilled herbs and fresh liquorice root. The ensemble is beautiful, and what stands out most is the polished persistence and silky texture of the mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"Bright ruby red colour with a delicately brightening rim. Expressive and clear nose of raspberries, cedar wood and some cold smoke, with a candied citrus fruit finish. Compact and tightly woven on the palate, with great tension and rich pressure, lots of salt, great length!" Falstaff
"The elegant nose opens with pristine cherry aromas supported by subtle notes of clove, anise, rosewood and tea. The focused palate continues to highlight ripe cherries and evolves into savory elements. Well-crafted tannins and crunchy acidity give the wine vigor and lift. The wine is generous, rich and superbly balanced." Wine Enthusiast

Planeta's famous Chardonnay is certified organic from the 2022 vintage and exudes a large and rich bouquet with aromas of apricot, apple, lemon, honey and lime. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lots of wood spice, vanilla and praline with lemon zest and ripe pineapple. Bright and creamy on the palate with a full body and a flavourful, spicy finish. Needs time to balance the wood. Taste from 2025." James Suckling
"The nose is savory but also floral, with undertones of herbs and of syrupy yet tart fruit, from cooked apples to dried pineapple. On the palate, rich flavors of lemon and almond paste both bolster and balance a more potent note of pineapple, before a lightly bitter finish." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo “Via Nuova” DOCG 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The cru sites Liste, Terlo, Baudana, Gabutti, Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi are the origins of the grapes for the terrificVia Nuova. It is a monumental, exciting wine that combines the best that the vintage had to offer. Explosive in the glass, with breathtaking aromatic depth, it is stunningly beautiful from the first sip. Dark macerated cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and rose petals are enhanced by the underlying acidity and tannin that give the wine its energy and drive. Via Nuova is a wine of exceptional harmony, purity and finesse with an everlasting finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny, lightening garnet red, light rim. Exceedingly fragrant nose of fresh roses, lots of raspberry and strawberry, a little candyfloss. Polished, finely meshed tannin, red berry fruit, tobacco on the final." Falstaff
"Fascinating aromatic complexity that keeps your nose hovering over the glass. Raspberries with ginger biscuits, flowers and a twist of basil. There’s a deeper layer of crushed goji berries and talc-like minerals, too. Full, intense, silky and dainty with well-integrated tannins that even add a chocolatey touch. So tempting to drink now, but better from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is marked by palpable brightness and tension that lend energy. Like all of these wines, the 2018 is restrained in feel, but all the elements are so well balanced. Freshly cut flowers, mint, crushed rocks, chalk and white pepper give the Via Nuova notable energy. Intense veins of supporting tannin and minerality provide the backbone." Vinous
"This is an organic blend of fruit from six MGA sites: Terlo and Liste (in Barolo), Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi (in Monforte d’Alba) and Gabutti and Baudana (in Serralunga d’Alba). The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is fermented in steel and aged in oak according to time-tested local tradition. This mid-weight blended Barolo has a more prominent herbal or balsam signature at the back of red and purple fruits, licorice and pressed violet." Wine Advocate

“Vigna del Sorbo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The Vigna del Sorbo vineyard is located directly in front of the winery. The south-west facing vineyard with Galestro soils covers 8 hectares at an altitude of 450 metres. The Riserva was first produced in 1985 and has been labelled Gran Selezione since the 2010 vintage.
Dark ruby red with light red highlights. Deep and initially unfathomable on the nose. But any spirit of discovery will be enchanted when it opens slowly and very balanced with red cherries, redcurrants, earth, sage and liquorice, revealing more facets with each passing minute. Finally, the mouthfeel shows a similar degree of extreme flavour balance with very fine but still young tannins. This medium-bodied structure, coupled with the wine's natural acidity, is an important guarantee of its great longevity. Our clear conclusion: there is not only a lot to discover here, but also to admire. Chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE
"Promising aromas of raspberries and flowers, with subtle notes of pepper; pithy on the palate, perfectly integrated acidity, lots of juice, power, plump tannins, character and a wonderful spicy final on notes of ripe cherries and sandalwood." Vinum
"Dark ruby red colour with a delicately brightening rim. On the nose, pronounced spicy aromas of ripe wild berries, rich Amarena cherries and clear pepper spice, with a leathery aftertaste. Tight-knit and pithy on the palate, spreads out with grip, very juicy, with a subtle salty undertone, powerful and long with plenty of character, still needs some bottle ageing." Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red colour. Spicy, mineral, elegant and a little reserved on the nose. Deep, juicy cherry fruit, supported by the right dose of chewy tannins. Very long. Concentrated, lively and relaxed at the same time." Jancis Robinson
"This wine is elegant, with floral, cherry, raspberry and mineral flavours. A hint of earth shines through, while the finish is graceful." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2019 is a powerful, virile wine with enormous depth and equally impressive tannins. An explosion of dark fruits, herbs, chocolate, menthol and spices flows from the glass. Big tannins and a hint of rusticity suggest that the 2019 will not be one of the finest sorbos, but it is a good effort for this year." Vinous
"Vigna del Sorbo lies at an altitude of 400 metres and has the classic Galestro soil of Chianti Classico. The warm, south-west facing vineyard typically produces a powerful, intense wine that requires ageing. The 2019 shows all the wild, penetrating characteristics of this site, but it quickly comes into harmony and reveals its balance and precision. The wood-accentuated notes of smoke and vanilla give way to pressed violets, rosemary and liquorice. Luscious red cherry and dark plum flesh is enveloped by long, layered, chalky tannins. The palate reveals an energetic bar of unwavering acidity that gives the wine a linear feel. Fennel and crushed stone linger on the finish." Decanter
"Usually excellent Sangiovese in purity of great elegance from Fontodi, with the step ahead of a great vintage. Nose of freshness, marasche, with officinal hints of citron thyme, mouth with a nice acidic shoulder, salty tannins, crispiness and incisiveness. Persistent." Luca Gardini
"This iconic wine has a whole new energy as it is now part of an exciting range of potential Gran Selezione wines being made at Fontodi. Two new additions to the portfolio (Pastrolo from cool Lamole and Terrazze San Leonlino from Panzano) help to give greater context to the organic 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo. This wine naturally benefits from many years of experience, and the identity of Vigna del Sorbo is well established. Soil connoisseurs, however, will take great pleasure in comparing the Vigna del Sorbo from slate-rich Galestro soils with the calcareous alternative from Terrazze San Leonlino. I lean towards the Vigna del Sorbo because I find the mineral notes of pencil and iron ore so appealing. These dusty notes are rounded out by sweet cherry fruit, plum and spice. Rising alcohol levels can be a problem in sun-drenched Panzano, and the wine team lets the vines grow higher in summer to provide shade and takes other active measures to combat this problem." Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017 (BIO)
Only vinified in the best vintages, it surprises with a bright garnet red. Bouquet of blackberry, violets and small sweet wild berries, on the palate cherry-like and then not at all arbitrary with a gripping acidity and a fine-grained tannin. A great, intellectual Brunello for the advanced connoisseur who likes it enigmatic and extraordinary. SUPERIORE.DE
"Finely chiselled bouquet of red berries, violets and Mediterranean maquis; linear attack, the tannins fine-grained and youthful, in perfect harmony with the acidity, very complex and powerfully pulling finish." Vinum
"The Poggio di Sotto is regularly the most Burgundian Brunello. Even its comparatively classic lighter colour reveals that (massive) extraction is not the focus here. The Burgundian-like aroma profile ranges from red fruits, red and dark cherries to floral-spicy notes. Violets, rosewood and exotic spices skilfully round off the elegant bouquet. On the palate, it is dense and full-bodied, yet elegant, juicy and finesse-rich, even if the somewhat more powerful vintage with grippy tannin and ripe fruit expression can be felt here. In the very multilayered final, the dark red and blue fruits with the fine spice come to the fore once again." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby-garnet with a slightly brightening rim. Initially shows fine spicy notes, after cardamom and cloves, dark fruit notes, after blackberries and dark cherries. Spreads out on the palate with fine substance, opens with grippy tannin in many layers, long finish, juicy." Falstaff
"Totally timeless scent, balsamic, subtle cranberry and cassis, cinnamon bark, tobacco, plum cake, long pepper, iodine and meat; very firm but now already very coherent, resting in itself, has a long life ahead of it." Meiningers Sommelier
"Bright flavors of strawberry, cherry and currant are at the core of this elegant red, which is balanced and long, with a fresh aftertaste evoking fruit and mineral hints. Firm, yet refined tannins should give this structure to evolve over the next decade and more." Wine Spectator
"Cherries and orange peel with cedar and pine undertones. It’s full yet fresh and lightly chewy with some citrus at the end. Shows tension and firmness for the vintage with a pretty form and purity. From organically grown grapes. Better after 2022." James Suckling
"Poggio di Sotto made 50% less wine in 2017 and will not release a Riserva. Maceration times were shorter than usual – just 25 to 30 days for the Brunello. It also spent three rather than four years in wood to avoid over-concentration. Aromas of steeped red berry infused with dried thyme and scorched orange peel make a heady first impression. The palate is mouth-filling and shows lovely purity of cherry and raspberry at the core. Concentrated in acidity with finely powdered, finessed tannins, this reveals just a hint of astringency on the orange liqueur and amaro finish." Decanter
"A captivating mix of ripe plums, strawberries, cloves, violet pastille, balsam herbs and white smoke emanates from the 2017 Brunello di Montalcino. This is undeniably elegant in feel, showing a weight unexpected from a young Poggio di Sotto, yet working in perfect harmony, with tart cherries and wild berries drenching the palate in primary concentration, as saline-minerals and brisk acids add energy and verve. There’s simply so much going on here that each return to the glass reveals something new. The tannins are sweet and rounded, and while structured, this remains fully satiating and fresh, as hints of lavender and black currant slowly fade. It’s totally atypical of a young Poggio di Sotto, yet also a wonderfully unique expression of the vintage, one that should mature evenly in spite of the drastic climatic conditions. What’s more, winemaker Luca Marrone chose to shorten the aging in wood by an entire year. The 2017 is a wine that’s not to be missed." Vinous
"Once again raw material of great crunchiness for an immovable of this typology. Nose of blackberry, with touches of dried thyme, then rhubarb and floral-balsamic finish. The mouthfeel has density and crunchiness, iodized tannins, nice length, with a fruity ending." Luca Gardini
"Made with certified-organic fruit, the 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is an impossibly graceful wine from a challenging vintage. This bottle defies the odds-and the dry heat of the growing season-to reveal soft layers of cherry, cassis and more vibrant fruit. It glides clear over the palate with silky momentum, and you only notice the tannins at the very end. Even those should soften and integrate as this collectible wine continues it bottle evolution." Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Bòggina C” Sangiovese Val d’Arno di Sopra Riserva DOC 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
The exceptional 2019 harvest has prompted Luca Sanjust to take another step towards "quality without compromise". The yields per plant were reduced even further and the selection of grapes from the identified parcel was made even more rigorous. This led to a reduction in the number of bottles available to around 3,000. The same meticulousness was applied in the cellar, selecting the most suitable 7 hectolitre barrels for ageing "sur lie". The greatest attention was paid to their wood grain and "toasting" in order to achieve the harmony and taste that a pure Grand Cru Sangiovese should have.
Bòggina C Riserva uniquely highlights the fragrance, brightness and expressive depth of Sangiovese from the Bòggina vineyard. This version highlights the inimitable and unmistakable character of this wine, which originates in the midst of the Chianti mountains overlooking the Val d'Arno di Sopra, from where it derives the unmistakable magic of its aromas, its colours and its brightness. A wine that not only warms Luca's heart, but also shows the great path that the winery has been following for years.
With the 2019 vintage, it now becomes a Riserva for the first time. For this occasion, it also received a new label, derived from a painting by the artist Sabina Mirri, who specially made it. More than ever, it is the archetype of a taut and wonderfully precise Sangiovese with impressive depth. SUPERIORE.DE
"Petrolo's Bòggina C Riserva is a single-varietal Sangiovese with a delicate colour and decent 13.5% by volume. Cherry-juicy and extremely offensively sweet in its approach, the Bòggina C Riserva smells with high concentration and creamy richness in the background. It starts round and velvety in the mouth, quite melting and soft, with lots of juice and length, then the tannins do seem a little blunt on the final, complex and seductive in the aftertaste." Weinwisser
"Sparkling ruby garnet. Opens with spicy notes, after saffron, then lots of cherry, buoyant. Juicy and present on the palate, showing fine spicy notes, then grippy, well-structured tannin, multi-layered and with very nice play." Falstaff
"The Petrolo 2019 Val d'Arno di Sopra Riserva Bòggina C reveals a dark and slightly evolved bouquet that builds upon the ripe and concentrated personality of this classic vintage. Dried cherry and blackcurrant are followed by toasted spice, tarry smoke and leather. The tannins are polished and smooth, and the wine strikes a generous, medium-bodied approach. Only at the very end do you notice a cheerful but fleeting spot of sweetness." Wine Advocate
"Very pure aromas of black cherries and fresh flowers, such as roses. Dried orange peel as well. It’s medium-bodied with a fresh and solid core of fruit and ultra-fine tannin. It’s so delicious to drink now." James Suckling

Barolo “Mosconi” DOCG 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The vivacious Chiara Boschis has been a rather modernist Barolo winemaker for over 25 years, although she now uses much less new oak than in the past. She is best known for her Cannubi, but her Mosconi, from 1 ha of this top vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, can be just as good in some vintages.
Medium to deep crimson. Very nice nose of earthy, complex cherry and blackberry fruit with subtle oak notes and a hint of pine. On the palate juicy and smooth red fruit, very concentrated. Delicious, crisp tannins. It is a plump, full-bodied and very concentrated wine that is assertive and youthful when young - but in balance. It is darker and fruitier than most classic Barolos, yet always structured, complex, tight and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, dark garnet with light rim. Very fragrant nose of wild raspberry, dark cherry, plum, clove and some cinnamon. Full and substantial on the palate, opens up with lots of hearty, grippy tannin, nice melting core, of raspberry and tobacco, long finish." Falstaff
"Plenty of tense, wild-strawberry character to this with bright minerals, too. Medium-bodied with a punchy core of bright fruit, tight tannins and a tense, crystalline finish. Needs time to even out. Best from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Mosconi shows all the gravitas and natural darkness of this site, but in miniature. Black cherry, plum, gravel, smoke, crushed rocks and incense fill out the layers. There is plenty of Mosconi muscle, even if the volume of the best years isn't there." Vinous
"This red puts it all together—macerated cherry and plum fruit, a silky texture, vibrant structure and elegance—without sacrificing power or harmony. Complex and long, with a haunting finish that provides rose, menthol, licorice and iron accents." Wine Spectator
"Chiara Boschis has recently purchased more vineyards in the Mosconi cru located at a cool 370 meters in elevation in Monforte d'Alba. This is terrific news for those who love the focus and precision that Chiara Boschis is known for. The Mosconi carries generous fruit weight and volume over a streamlined mouthfeel and tight tannins. The wine ends with fresh notes of blackberry, plum and wild rose." Wine Advocate
"The wine is quite a dense ruby colour in the glass, with restrained forest floor scents and whiffs of rosemary, chocolate and wild red fruits. Filigreed and complex, the palate has a delicate attack, firm tannins and good density, with flavours of tar and plenty of violet and pomegranate. Biting and still austere but softened by the French barriques - where the wine ages for two years." Decanter

"Single-vineyard wine from 55-year-old vines in the Conca d'Oro of Panzano: seductive notes of raspberries, spiced up with notes of dried roses and pepper; balanced texture, the acidity fresh, the tannins velvety and long-lasting. Pleasing with its fullness and elegance." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour, dark. A savoury nose of ripe cherries, wild berries, graphite, dark spices and peppercorns, with a wet earth aftertaste. Juicy on the palate, with tightly woven tannins and superbly developed cherry fruit, profound and earthy, beautiful length, the months of additional ageing have done the wine a lot of good." Falstaff
"Aromas of stems, dried meat, berries and cherries with some dusty earth. The palate is firm and fresh, bright and crisp. It shows a certain texture of cement and stone." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is one of the most backward editions of this wine that I can remember tasting. Dark and almost sombre, the Vigna del Sorbo packs a tonne of intensity into its deceptively mid-weight frame. In many vintages, the Vigna del Sorbo is quite showy in its youth. This is not at all the case with the 2020, a wine that will need many more years to show its best side. With time, hints of lavender, dried herbs, plums and graphite emerge, but the 2020 is clearly a child. There is a sense of youthful austerity (in a positive sense) that I find very appealing. The Sorbo 2020 is a wine for those who can wait." Vinous
"This red is tightly wound, straightforward in profile and full of flavours of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, fresh loam and minerals, supported by lively acidity and dense, soft tannins that combine beautifully with the tension and silky texture. Shows fantastic length." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2020 (with an edition of 25,000 bottles) is a generous expression of Sangiovese of unique intensity, showing tremendous precision and focus. This organic wine offers black fruits, grilled rosemary, pressed rose and crushed limestone. All of these flavours have a particular forward intensity that combines with the generous fruit richness for which this sunny vintage will be remembered." Wine Advocate

The anniversary edition of the Novecento opens on the nose with layers of dark fruits, spices, tar and smoke. Then on the palate, there is terrific depth and hints of earth or crushed black rock. Novecento offers a great texture that is velvety and rich without ever seeming heavy or sluggish. Long and crisp on the spicy finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe nose with aromas of maraschino, herbs and leather; the tannins robust, showing character and length, solid finish. Pair with a T-bone steak." Vinum
"The organic Dievole 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Novecento is slow to open and is neutral on first nose. It does eventually show some dark fruit and wild cherry that is nicely intermingled with spice, leather and tar. There is a warm or savory quality to this wine with autumn leaf and forest floor. The blend is 95% Sangiovese, 3% Canaiolo and 2% Colorino. This release celebrates the 30th vintage of this wine." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 vintage was one of the most balanced in recent years in Chianti Classico. Here, as Antonini confessed, there is no intention to make an approachable wine. The colour shines in its ruby red tinge; the nose is intensely fresh, flowery and slightly reductive at first, before an orange vert emerges from the depths to overlay black cherry and creamy strawberry. The attack is firm, crunchy and extracted. Fierce acidity supports a youthful cherry fruit expression with enough concentration and a thick finish. Quite austere for 2019, but amazing considering its ability to age." Decanter
"This is extremely aromatic, with strawberry and cherry character and hints of orange peel and flowers. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that are integrated and polished. Bright acidity at the finish, made from a mix of parcels from the highest vineyards of Dievole. Beautiful to drink now, but will age will, too." James Suckling

“Castel Campan” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM
"You should take that much time. Time and attention for the best of our Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Perfect harmony that is only achieved after 10 years of ageing in the bottle. Dense to the tips of your hair." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Castel Campan - elegant Bordeaux cuvée of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the estate's oldest vines, where clay and limestone gravel characterise the terroir. Deep garnet-purple in colour, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and earth, plus a hint of pencil lead and chocolate. Medium-bodied on the palate, well-structured, with firm tannins and lively acidity. Long and polished. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, radiant ruby red colour. Expressive nose of fresh wild berries, wet rose petals, a hint of cherry juice, then hibiscus, elegant and fine spice on the finish. Polished and expressive on the palate, very beautiful fruit, supported by tightly woven tannins, savoury, juicy, delicately floral, harmonious finish." Falstaff
"The Castel Campan 2020 opens with peppery flowers and herbs, hints of camphor and dried blackberries. This flows across the palate with silky textures and ripe red and blue fruits, underlined by tactile mineral tones. The lively acidity provides a fantastic balance. It's savoury and tannic, but the 2020 finishes surprisingly fresh, leaving a gentle tension and an aftertaste of wild berries." Vinous

Barolo “Bricco delle Viole” DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Rose petals, spices and red-coloured fruit float in the glass, supported by fine, racy tannins. On the palate, the typical, medium-bodied characteristics of Bricco delle Viole are evident, while the contours are soft and the wine's personality demands the next sip. Vajra fans should give it a few more years to mature, despite its current accessibility. SUPERIORE.DE
"Beguiling aromas of stone fruit, dried flowers and tobacco; harmonious, albeit still very youthful structure, the tannins as if chiselled from stone, great length. Excellent food companion that impresses with its wealth of finesse." Vinum
"Rich fruit and flowers with real spread across the palate. Impressive. Polished leather and liquorice. Dry, but not too dry, finish. Very fine and fresh. To bite into." Jancis Robinson
Bricco delle Viole is the vineyard that has taught us patience and naturally defines the style of our craft," says Aldo Vaira about this MGA. Graceful and austere at the same time, it has sweet violet and pomegranate flavours, restrained in style but not without complexity in depth. The attack is firm, with steely acidity and very austere tannins on the gums, dusty and muscular. It will soften as it matures in the bottle." Decanter
"Flavours of gravel, flowers and berries merge into a medium to full body with firm and velvety tannins and a juicy finish. It is very original now and needs time to develop in the bottle." James Suckling
"Bright ruby-garnet colour with a subtly brightening rim. Somewhat restrained on the nose, a little sealing wax after aeration, raspberries, fine earthy notes, cranberries. Creamy entry on the palate, but immediately shows power and muscle, plenty of complex tannins, savoury, deep, powerful." Falstaff
"A juicy Barolo with lively acidity and a fluid profile that exudes aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, mown hay, minerals and eucalyptus. Taut yet long, with outstanding potential." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2019 offers a beguiling combination of depth and energy. Dark and strong in the glass, but also quite restrained, the 2019 will need a few more years to unfold. Black cherry, graphite, crushed rocks, mint, sage and incense open up in the glass, but only with some restraint. I particularly like the way the 2019 opens up in its sonorous, extended finish, but it remains a decidedly brooding Barolo whose best days are still far in the future." Vinous
"Lifted aromas of crushed cherries and raspberries mixed with blue violets and savory spice on the nose. Super-fine tannins with crushed chalk; very floral with a bright and lifted palate. Mouth-watering acidity. Alluring, captivating, energetic and precise." Wine Enthusiast
"With its high altitude in the hills west of Barolo, Bricco delle Viole is a world apart in terms of soils (with marl and fossils from Sant'Agata) and even harvest times. Slow and careful ageing, typical of the 2019 vintage, gives it a very delicate and ethereal expression with floral notes, wild mint and liquorice. This organic wine is solid in composition and structure." Wine Advocate
"A great classic of elegance, on the nose notes of red raspberries and clementine peel, a hint of nutmeg and wild iris. On the palate, it is juicy and exciting, with a return of red fruits and spicy notes. It finishes with a floral hint." Luca Gardini

Limitation of 1 articles per customer“Batàr” Bianco Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Batàr is undoubtedly reminiscent of Burgundy, but with unmistakable Tuscan authenticity. Vintage after vintage, Querciabella's forward-thinking winemaking has moved beyond the hedonistic idea of growing foreign, albeit noble, white grapes in a stronghold of red wines to focus on expressing a particular sense of place. The Batàr's inherent vitality and classic minerality clearly come from the high altitude vineyards of Ruffoli and the Galestro soils typical of the best Chianti Classico sites.
Batàr's legendary ability to defy age and improve over time requires a careful combination of hand-picked Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco grapes, timely micro-vinification and patient ageing in barrel. The long time on the lees in high-quality French barriques allows the individual lots to develop their best expression. Only when the optimal maturation is complete is the final assemblage put together through extensive sampling. Further maturation in the bottle before release seals the multi-layered texture that is the proverbial mouthfeel of Batàr.
Exudes elegant aromas of jasmine, peach and sweet tropical fruits and a lively minerality. Batàr secures its many admirers with great finesse and opulent diversity and has undoubtedly been one of Italy's best white wines for decades! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, light golden yellow. Very appealing and exciting note, first of flint, then mango, pineapple and some sage. Juicy in the attack and course, fine tropical fruit, shows good tension, creamy and long in the finish." Falstaff
"The 2019 Batàr, 50% Chardonnay/50% Pinot Blanc, offers up an exotic mélange of tangerine peel, pineapple, spice and passionfruit. The move towards a more refined style here has paid off big-time." Vinous
"Sliced apples, peaches, peach blossom, cedar and smoked almonds on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a creamy texture. Layered and delicious with subtle spice notes and ripe stone fruit, balanced by bright acidity." James Suckling

“Mason di Mason” Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM
"The best of the best - you don't drink this wine every day. It needs attention, time to mature and likes to play the leading role: as the crowning glory of a festive table or even as a proud solitaire." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Noble and pure, the Mason di Mason Pinot Nero shines with flavours of raspberry, rose blossom, undergrowth and sweet spices. Elegant and seamlessly round on the palate with incredible balance, complexity and detail. A knockout Pinot Noir! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, brightening ruby red colour. Noble, delicate nose of ripe wild berries, notes of spruce shoots, citrus, fragrant. Light-footed and elegant on the palate, with clear fruit, beautiful acidity, red berry flavours and freshness, balanced, with a high drinking flow and medium length." Falstaff
"The 2020 Pinot Nero Mason di Mason delivers varietal tones of pressed violet, candied orange and sweet watermelon. You also get a pronounced savory quality with tobacco leaf, steeped tea, ozone, tar and wet asphalt. The wine has a pretty, lean-bodied approach with fine tannins." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Mason di Mason seduces with aromas of foreign spices, cedar, curry leaves, crushed stones and dried black cherries. This is pure class, silky and supple, with a core of mineral red fruit and vibrant acidity that keeps the energy going. The 2020 finishes with a concentrated and remarkably long finish of blood orange and tart raspberry notes that fills the cheeks. It could do with a short stay in the cellar to mature a little more. The Mason di Mason is the cru in the cru Pinot Noir of Manincor, which comes from the oldest vines of the Mazon vineyard." Vinous
Mason di Mason is described by the winery as "a Grand Cru within a Grand Cru". It comes from the highest and oldest parcels of the Mazzon vineyard with thinner moraine soils over hard limestone, resulting in smaller berries. The aromas of red and black cherries are joined by bitter herbs, cocoa and earth, which are reflected in the mouth, where the flavour is intense, structured and woody. It is juicy and combines good concentration with excellent length." Decanter
"This wine is very aromatic, with a very pure fruit, with notes of pink roses, blood orange and potpourri. Also some iodine. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of tension and mouth-filling juiciness. The tannins are supple and melt into the fruit. Delicious and long. Beautifully made." James Suckling
