“Grifo del Quartaro” Gavi del Comune di Gavi DOCG 2022
Serafino's beautifully balanced Gavi del Comune di Gavi "Grifo del Quartaro" is fragrant and floral with star jasmine and acacia, followed by orchard fruit, citrus and salty minerals. The wine is lean and crisp with enough vigour to pair with fried prawns or calamari. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fresh and perfumed nose with a hint of white almond to the green apples and peaches. Smoothly rendered on the medium-bodied palate with fresh acidity and a crisp and expressive finish." James Suckling
"The Enrico Serafino 2022 Gavi del Comune di Gavi Grifo del Quartaro is chiseled and tonic with citrus, white grapefruit, unripe peach and crushed oyster shell. The Cortese grape always has a salty side, and that is precisely what makes this grape so perfect to pair with seafood dishes like fish carpaccio drizzled with lime juice." Wine Advocate
"Passion fruit and apricot aromas and flavors are effusive in this juicy white, which is vibrant and harmonious, leaving a lingering aftertaste of cut grass and citrus." Wine Spectator
"Tangy mixed citrus aromas with savory herbal notes flow into notes of jasmine and ginger on the nose. The textured and complex palate gives notes of peach, sea salt and blanched almond finishing with focused acidity." Wine Enthusiast

A sparkling DOCG white wine from Piedmont, named after the municipality of the same name in the southeast of the province of Alessandria. The autochthonous grape variety is called Cortese, which is why Cortese di Gavi often appears on the label. The grape variety originates from the region in which wine-growing has been proven for a millennium, genetic evidence does not yet exist. In total, there are no more than just under 3,000 hectares, almost all of them in Piedmont.
Wines from the immediate vicinity of Gavi were called Gavi di Gavi, in simple terms: Gavi from Gavi, and were a direct hit because Gavi di Gavi became a cult wine for export.
Gavi is fruity with crunchy citrus aromas, also a little floral and has a very lively fruit-acid game, which is why you want to order the next glass immediately. Gavi is also available as Spumante and since 2010 as Riserva. The Gavi Riserva must be 100% Cortese and must be kept for at least one year, six months in the bottle. Gavi Spumante Metodo Classico is a very popular sparkling wine that must mature for at least two years, 18 months of which on the yeast in the bottle. Gavi is the ideal after-work wine, a wonderful appetizing aperitif. SUPERIORE.DE
