Graziano Merotto has named wines after parcels of land, after decades of experience, and also after himself. This one, however, he named after his daughter. La Primavera di Barbara – barbara's spring. What at first sounds like a gesture of affection is also a precise description of the wine: bright, blooming, with a vibrancy that can only be found in the best season.

90% Glera, 10% Perera – and these 10 per cent decide everything: Perera is one of the rarest autochthonous grape varieties of Valdobbiadene, almost forgotten, still cultivated by a few producers. Its contribution is hard to describe aromatically, but immediately recognisable: a hint of rose oil, something ripe, something soft that transports the Glera to another season. The vineyards are located at 300 metres in Col San Martino, clay soils, exposed to the south. Gentle pressing, single-varietal fermentation at a controlled temperature, 60-day second fermentation in autoclaves at 12–13 °C. Residual sugar 21 g/l – the dry profile in its most voluminous form, but carried by a freshness that never makes it heavy.

Bright straw yellow, brilliant and layered head, fine perlage. Bouquet of apple, pear, apricot, rose, wisteria – intense, spring-like, inviting. Crisp and juicy on the palate, with a balanced interplay of sweetness and freshness and a long, fragrant final. A wine that lives up to its name every day. SUPERIORE.DE
