The Falletto vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba is considered the centrepiece of Bruno Giacosa's work. The south and south-west facing slopes with calcareous marl soils produce Nebbiolo with unmistakable depth and structure. The 2020 vintage was characterised by a warm, sunny summer, balanced by cool nights and a long, stable autumn – ideal conditions for fully ripe, aromatically complex grapes with precise acidity.

A rich garnet red colour with ruby reflections in the glass. On the nose, fine nuances of ripe red cherry, pomegranate and dark plum, accompanied by floral hints of violets and rose petals. Nuances of liquorice, cedar wood and delicate tobacco spice unfold underneath. Powerful and deep on the palate, yet clearly characterised: the tannins are present but silky, carried by a fresh, invigorating acidity. The structure is broad and stable, the final is persistent, mineral and infused with fine balsamic spice. A Falletto that combines the opulence of the warm vintage with the elegance of its origins – rich in detail, precise in its execution and with great development potential. SUPERIORE.DE
