Riccardo Dalisi worked with iron, copper and brass – with the humble materials of craftsmanship, to which he lent an archaic, almost sacred dignity through his sensitivity. He received the Compasso d’Oro twice: in 1981 for his coffee pot, and in 2014 for his social commitment. Feudi di San Gregorio owns two of his works. From this enduring connection, an idea emerged: the coloured glass mosaic ‘S.T.’ from 1990 – deep blue, vibrantly colourful, imbued with that effervescent energy that defines Dalisi’s signature style – adorns this bottle. No decorative label. A close dialogue between artist and wine.

And the wine has had time. Plenty of time. The 2014 Taurasi was harvested, vinified and aged – and then stored in the bottle. Over ten years before these limited 500 bottles find their way onto the market. This is no accident. It is a conscious choice for maturity: Aglianico, Campania’s latest-ripening and most patient grape variety, needs time to become what it is capable of. 2014 was no easy vintage – — high acidity, distinct aromas, striking freshness. Characteristics that can seem austere in youth but truly blossom with age. Three weeks of maceration in steel, 18 months in medium-toasted French barriques, then the long silence of the cellar.

The wine now being released is a Taurasi that has reached a calm, deep maturity. An intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The bouquet offers notes of Morello cherry, tobacco, leather and spices, with a hint of tar – the unmistakable signature of mature Aglianico. Dry and structured on the palate, with precise, integrated acidity, softened tannins and a long finish of quiet dignity. Only 500 bottles, late release.
