“Vistamare” Bianco Toscana IGT 2024
There are wines that not only tell of earth, climate and grapes - they also tell of light and space. Vistamare is undoubtedly one of these rare creatures. Named after the expansive view that Bolgheri offers as far as the sea on a clear day, this wine is a Mediterranean promise, realised with the care and elegance with which Angelo Gaja has been setting standards for decades - only this time not in Piedmont, but on the Tuscan coast.

“Sito Moresco” Rosso Langhe DOC 2022
A wine that breathes history and yet floats lightly through the modern style: Sito Moresco bears his name in memory of the former family that owned the legendary cru near Barbaresco. For Angelo Gaja, this wine – first vinified in 1991 – marked the entry into a new class: an everyday Langhe, elegantly balanced between regionality and internationality. Since the 2020 edition, the cuvée has consisted exclusively of Nebbiolo and Barbera from selected parcels in Barbaresco and Barolo. Here, the delicate structure and mineral depth of Nebbiolo are combined with the rounder fruit and accessibility of Barbera – without ever appearing too harmonious, but rather complementary and sharpened. Sito Moresco is a modern classic, clear in character, elegant in style, and a Gaja reference in which authenticity and readability merge wonderfully.

“Magari” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2022
If only it were true. Angelo Gaja's Tuscan masterpiece Magari bears this Italian expression full of longing and hope in its name, and it tells the story of a dream that became reality. When the Piedmontese patriarch first explored the Maremma coast in the 1990s, he saw the potential for something extraordinary in the gentle hills of Bolgheri. Eighteen rounds of negotiations were necessary to acquire the Ca' Marcanda estate – "the house of endless negotiations", as it has been known ever since.

Today, this wine is a stylistic bridge: Nebbiolo grapes from the legendary La Morra and Serralunga vineyards are vinified separately, matured first for a year in barriques and then for a further year in large oak barrels – a deliberate blend of finesse and substance.

Gaja's Barolo Dagromis still flies under everyone's radar ... because Barolo Dagromis 2020 shows how tradition steeped in history and modern precision can be perfectly balanced. It bears its name in homage to the Gromis family, former owners of these historic parcels near La Morra – today married to the vineyards of Serralunga, whose cuvée is skilfully crafted. Each parcel delivers its Nebbiolo separately for fermentation, undergoes long maceration periods and matures for twelve months in barriques, followed by a further twelve months in large wooden barrels and bottle ageing.

![Barolo "Dagromis" DOCG 2021]()
Barolo “Dagromis” DOCG 2021
Names carry stories. Dagromis tells of an encounter that took place in 1995, when Angelo Gaja acquired a ten-hectare estate in La Morra – from the hands of the Gromis family, who had lived there since the 19th century. "Da Gromis" means "by the Gromis" in Italian, a linguistic nod to the people who shaped these slopes for generations. It is a nod to the past and at the same time a statement of the present: Gaja in Barolo, not just in Barbaresco. The vineyards are located in two of Barolo's most important terroirs: La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba. The grapes from La Morra come from the legendary Cerequio cru – the south-east exposed part from which the great Conteisa also comes – and from the Silio vineyard. Grapes from Serralunga, directly adjacent to the Sperss vineyard, give the wine the strength and structure for which this municipality is famous. The vinification follows Gaja's philosophy of separate processing: each vineyard is fermented separately, macerated and matured for twelve months in small French barriques. Only then are the wines blended and matured for a further eighteen months in large tonneau barrels. A total of thirty months before the wine is bottled – time that you can taste.

The Gaja wine dynasty
The Gaja family is one of the best-known and most respected winegrowing families in Italy and has stood for passion, quality and innovation in winegrowing for generations. In addition to the parent company in Barbaresco (Piedmont), Angelo Gaja also owns two other wineries in Tuscany: the Pieve Santa Restituta winery in Montalcino and the Ca' Marcanda winery in Bolgheri. With their deep-rooted passion for viticulture and years of expertise, the Gaja team has succeeded in creating some of Italy's most prestigious and exclusive wines, which have been a hit all over the world.
Here we present not only the three Gaja family wineries, but also the exciting joint venture with Alberto Graci near Mount Etna. The "Idda" project has long since ceased to be an insider tip in Sicily, as the two wines impressively demonstrate the legendary signature of their creators and are a real asset to viticulture in this "cool climate" region.
Below is a brief overview. As usual, you will also find a detailed portrait of the respective winery or project in our shop.
Angelo Gaja
Angelo Gaja is a charismatic wine legend and founder of the world-class winery of the same name. He has had a decisive influence on the world of Italian viticulture and is known for his innovative approaches and his commitment to quality and authenticity. Angelo Gaja's wines, including the expressive single-vineyard Barbaresco, but also the "Darmagi" Rosso Langhe DOP and the Barolo "Conteisa", are appreciated worldwide for their elegance, complexity and longevity and are certainly among the best-known wines in the world.
Ca' Marcanda
Ca' Marcanda is located in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany. Here, Tuscan tradition and modern viticulture combine to create elegant and expressive wines. Ca' Marcanda is known for its harmonious red wines, which combine power and finesse. The best-known wines from this branch are the "Promis" Toscana IGT, the "Camarcanda" Bolgheri DOC with its strong personality and the winery's white flagship, the "Vistamare" Bianco Toscana IGT.
Pieve Santa Restituta
This winery is located in the famous Montalcino region of Tuscany. It is another project of the Gaja family, which produces three impressive Brunello di Montalcino wines here. The top wines Brunello di Montalcino "Rennina" and the impressive Brunello di Montalcino "Sugarille" are world-famous and not only praised by critics. The Brunellos are also available in rare special formats and, thanks to their impressive Storage potential, are waiting for the right moment to be savoured. Brunello di Montalcino from Pieve Santa Restituta stands for wines with great finesse and character that perfectly reflect the diversity and terroir of the region.
Angelo Gaja & Alberto Graci
The joint venture between the renowned Gaja family and the "garage winemaker" Alberto Graci is an exciting project by two wine enthusiasts who have had their sights firmly set on revitalising historic vineyard sites on Etna for years. These endeavours are based on around 20 hectares of land on the south-western slope of Mount Etna. These vineyards were already the basis for excellent indigenous wines in the 19th century and have now been producing impressive quality wines again for several years. With the two wines "Idda" Bianco and Rosso, the charismatic duo proves that they are on the right path to raising the high quality and reputation of Etna wines to an even higher level.
