It all began with this wine. The grapes came from Grandmother Caterina's vineyard, and Grandfather wrote "La Monella" in chalk on the liveliest barrel in the cellar – the little minx. This is how Barbera was once drunk in Monferrato: young, impetuous, with that slight effervescence that tames the acidity and makes the wine the perfect everyday companion. Ten days' maceration, four months' ageing in stainless steel, then the prise de mousse in a pressure tank.

A brilliant purplish-red colour with lively bubbles; aromas of red fruit; fresh, untamed yet velvety on the palate. Braida describes it as "cheerful and unrestrained". Perfectly chilled in summer, served at room temperature on autumn evenings. A wine that has never been altered, because it is perfect in its original simplicity. SUPERIORE.DE

"An intense, brilliant ruby red with violet highlights and delicate bubbles. A fruit-driven nose, with plenty of cherry and blackberry, underpinned by black pepper and cardamom. Fresh and lively on the palate, with crisp acidity and final slightly salty final." Falstaff
