"Selva della Tesa" is no ordinary Chardonnay - it is the quiet antithesis to Ca' del Bosco's world of sparkling wines, a solitary vineyard, a monolith of fruit, minerality and ageing potential. Situated in the hilly landscape of Erbusco, the plot - planted with old vines on clay-limestone soils - produces the estate's most concentrated harvestyear after year. After manual harvesting and the typical washing process, the grapes are gently pressed and placed in small French barriques, where fermentation begins spontaneously. This is followed by eleven months of ageing on the fine lees, with regular bâtonnage. No new wood influence for its own sake, but targeted structural work. This is followed by bottle ageing - long enough to bring out the inner architecture of the wine.

Light gold colour with a silver sheen. The nose opens slowly, then brooding: ripe citrus fruit, Williams pear, lime blossom, wet stone, almond tart, a hint of white pepper. Nothing superficial, everything interwoven. Powerful but precisely constructed on the palate - with rich, ripe fruit, salty minerality, razor-sharp acidity and an arc of tension that does not break but carries. The texture is silky, the finish is long, with a fine tang and subtle spice. Selva della Tesa is not a Chardonnay for the shop window. It demands attention - and rewards it with depth, seriousness and substance. A white wine that does not lean, but stands. Independent, distinctive, carried by great calm - and yet full of energy.
