2020 was a challenging year in Collio, characterised by a warm spring, extreme weather at times and a hot, dry summer. The harvest required precision and patience - and that is exactly what the "M" has in its blood. The estate's top-quality Friulano comes from old vines in the best locations around Capriva, which combine low yields with an intense concentration of flavours. The vinification process is purist as usual: slow fermentation in stainless steel, long contact with the lees and plenty of time for internal clarification.

The colour in the glass is a rich straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is ripe and opulent: yellow plum, candied citrus fruit, dried herbs, lime blossom and a hint of ginger. On the palate, the 2020 has more volume and warmth than usual, yet is powerful and densely woven, with a supple texture and excellent balance. The fine salinity remains, as does the characteristic, slightly almond-tart finish. A concentrated, nuanced Friulano with ageing potential that skilfully channels the warm vintage. Less crystalline than the 2021, but full of depth, maturity and quiet greatness. A great white wine with a Burgundian attitude - and an unmistakable name. SUPERIORE.DE
