Sauvignon Sanct Valentin is probably the best-known white wine from the St. Michael-Eppan winery. The grapes for Terlan's Ikonen wine come from vineyards at an altitude of 300 to 550 metres with volcanic porphyry rock. TAL 1930 recalls the beginnings of the Santa Maddalena winery in 1930: a year of particular significance for the history of viticulture in South Tyrol and for the Bolzano winery. The contrast between mountain and valley - Alpine and Mediterranean - defines the character of this exceptional cuvée. The vineyards for the white varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio lie between the valley floor and the sometimes gentle, sometimes steep slopes of the famous Renon near Bolzano. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 400 to 700 metres and vary greatly in location and temperature due to the sun from the Dolomites and the sometimes strong winds of the Isarco Valley.

Grapes from the best terroirs and vines that are 30 years old and older are rigorously selected and the knowledge of the climate and microclimate, which is the result of many years of experience, ultimately determines this powerful yet elegant cuvée. TAL 1930 is aged for 12 months in small oak barrels and then matures for 14 months in stainless steel tanks before resting in the bottle on its way to perfection. 1,888 numbered bottles were bottled.

The St. Michael-Eppan winery began crowning selected varietal wines for the first time with the 2015 vintage. Only just over 3,000 bottles of these top selections are sold worldwide each year. In 2019, the choice again fell on a single-varietal Sauvignon Bianco from the best grapes from selected micro-locations. Gentle pressing with 3 days of skin contact, followed by 12 months of fermentation in tonneau and a further 15 months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks give it a unique depth and finesse. The grapes for Terlan's Ikonen wine come from vineyards at an altitude of 300 to 550 metres with volcanic porphyry rock. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied, but not overloaded, instead deeply spicy, smoky, with a mineral-salty structure, followed by green-herbal notes in the focussed, mineral final.
