![Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020]()
Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
While the Chianti Classico Ruspoli Annata shows the accessible, fresh side of Lilliano, the Riserva reveals the depth and maturity that lie dormant in the estate's best parcels. Selected only in outstanding years and from the Tenuta's best vineyards, it represents the potential of the Sangiovese grape on the chalky Alberese soils of Castellina in Chianti. The 2020 vintage is considered exceptional in Tuscany: balanced temperatures, moderate rainfall and a long, warm autumn allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly. The cuvée of 95 per cent Sangiovese and five per cent Merlot is fermented in small stainless steel and cement tanks after selective hand-picking before the wine matures for 14 to 15 months in large French oak barrels – a conscious decision in favour of traditional ageing, which gives the Sangiovese structure without dominating it. A further six months of bottle ageing round off the development.

“LIL’KRA XXIII” Pinot Nero Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2023 (BIO)
With "LIL'KRA XXIII", Alois and Clemens Lageder venture a first glimpse into the future of the legendary Krafuss vineyard – a Pinot Nero made from young grapes, vinified as an experiment and harbinger. The parcel was replanted in 2020, with impressive diversity: 20 different Pinot clones and massal selections on various rootstocks, planted on calcareous slopes above Eppan. The 2023 vintage marks the first small harvest – a delicate, vibrant start that already hints at the potential of the future Grand Cru site Krafuss. Fermentation for around a week on the skins with a small proportion of whole bunches. This is followed by gentle ageing – initially in stainless steel tanks, followed by around 17 months in large oval oak barrels. During the maturation period, the wine underwent a slightly reductive phase, which gave it additional tension and precision. Bottled unfiltered in January 2025.

“Cellole” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Cellole Gran Selezione impresses with its usual elegance and sophistication. Its masterfully balanced flavour profile of wild berry and blackberry with cassis, blueberry and candied rose is fantastic. On closer inspection, the wine reveals orange peel, rosemary and iron ore. It is a silky and elegant wine with some firm tannin, lots of bright fruit and a hint of crisp acidity. Undoubtedly a great wine with great potential! SUPERIORE.DE

“Michei di Michei” Pinot Nero Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2021
Maso Michei is located high up in a secluded mountain world in southern Trentino. There, the vines thrive at 790 to 850 metres above sea level on a sun-soaked south-facing slope in pristine nature. In this remarkable location for viticulture, the vines grow slowly and the grapes ripen late. With the acquisition of the 13 ha Maso Michei vineyards in the Valle dei Ronchi above Ala, Martin Foradori Hofstätter is returning to the roots of his ancestors in Trentino.

!["Per Lui" Primitivo del Salento IGT 2020]()
“Per Lui” Primitivo del Salento IGT 2020
The Per Lui line does not begin in the cellar, but already on the vine. Before the harvest begins, the berry stalk of each bunch is tied off on the plant – the flow of juice is interrupted and the berry dries in a controlled manner on the living vine. An old Salento trick, here refined into a method: maximum concentration without a drying room, without intervention, just sun and time. 100% Primitivo, Alberello pugliese, argillo-limoso – loamy-silty soil that stores heat and releases it evenly. Vines around 35 years old, harvested in the second decade of September. Maceration for at least 20 days at a controlled 26–28°C, followed by several years in the bottle – no wood, only fruit.

!["Mandrone di Lohsa" Cabernet Maremma Toscana DOC 2021]()
“Mandrone di Lohsa” Cabernet Maremma Toscana DOC 2021
Poliziano stands for Nobile di Montepulciano – almost everyone knows that. But at the end of the 1990s, Federico Carletti bought a second estate, far to the south, in the centre of Maremma: Lohsa. Sandstone soils, a hundred metres above sea level, the Mediterranean climate clearly noticeable. A different terroir, a different language – and consequently a different wine. The Mandrone di Lohsa "speaks" Cabernet Sauvignon, but with an unmistakable Tuscan-Mediterranean accent. Complemented by Petit Verdot and Carignano – not decoration, but character. Small, decisive proportions that give the wine its spice, its solar power and its recognisability. Fermentation in conical steel tanks with a long maceration period, 18 months ageing in French barriques and tonneaux.

!["Il Bruciato" Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2024]()
“Il Bruciato” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2024
The name Il Bruciato, literally "the fire", commemorates a historic forest fire disaster on the Guado al Tasso estate: At the beginning of the 20th century, an extensive area of woodland on the estate was completely destroyed by fire. Since then, the wine has poetically recounted this event – and the reconstruction, which also symbolises perseverance, identity and the connection between landscape and wine. Since its debut vintage in 2002, Guado al Tasso has been pursuing the idea of an accessible red Bolgheri wine that is nevertheless true to its origins and terroir. The vines grow in the immediate neighbourhood of the Bolgheri Superiore, and the wine is vinified with precision and an eye for balance.

!["Tulin" Barbera d'Alba DOC 2021]()
“Tulin” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021
At Pelissero, "Tulin" not only stands for a vineyard, but also for a claim. The extremely rare Barbera from this parcel is not a by-product of the Nebbiolo-heavy winery, but an independent, uncompromisingly sophisticated interpretation of the Barbera grape variety. In a year like 2021, which united structure, freshness and concentration in a rare balance, this wine reaches a level that sets it apart from the crowd - and clearly places it in the rank of an exceptional wine. The vines grow on calcareous marl with blue clay - a constellation that combines maturity with tension. The yields are low, the selection strict. Tulin is matured for around 18 months in French barriques, with the necessary time and care to get the best out of the grape variety - not more fruit, not more wood, but more depth and complexity.

“Il Sasso” Carmignano DOCG 2022
Carmignano is Italy's best-kept secret: a DOCG of just 110 hectares – smaller than some Bordeaux châteaux. It was here, just outside Florence, that Caterina de' Medici brought Cabernet vines from France in the 16th century. While the rest of Tuscany invented the Super Tuscans centuries later, Carmignano had long since reached its goal. Il Sasso comes from the cru of the same name in Santa Cristina a Mezzana: two and a half hectares, thirty-year-old vines, clay and galestro at an altitude of 250 metres. Seventy per cent Sangiovese, plus Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc – the classic Carmignano formula in Silvia Vannucci's signature style. Fermented with natural yeasts, almost three weeks on the skins, then twelve months in used French barriques – no new wood, nothing should distract from the terroir. Bottled unfiltered and matured in the bottle for a further six months.

!["Mimmo" Nebbiolo Colline Novarese DOC 2023]()
“Mimmo” Nebbiolo Colline Novarese DOC 2023
Some wines are named after vineyards, others after grape varieties. This one bears the name of a person: Domenico Staropoli, known as Mimmo, who cultivated the vineyards of Le Piane for many years. When he died, Christoph Künzli dedicated this wine to him – to him, not as a sentimental gesture, but as a tribute to the quiet labour without which no great wine is made. The Mimmo is more than just a "little Boca". His Nebbiolo parcels come from the same plots, are vinified according to the same standards, and only after two years of barrel ageing does the tasting decide which parcels will become Boca and which will become Mimmo. The Nebbiolo is complemented by Croatina and Vespolina from century-old vines on Montalbano and Santuario. Twelve months in tonneau, then twelve months in large Slavonian vats – time that you can taste.

!["Achilles" Syrah Sicilia DOC 2020]()
“Achilles” Syrah Sicilia DOC 2020
Syrah in Sicily - this is no longer a surprise. But Achilles, Zisola's top single-varietal wine, gives the grape variety on the chalky hills near Noto a new expressiveness: powerful, deep and at the same time controlled, with that polished precision that does not seek to imitate, but to shape independently. The grapes come from small plots with a high proportion of limestone in the soil, close to the coast. The warm climate is tempered by constant air circulation - ideal conditions for even ripening. After selective manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation takes place in conical tanks, followed by ageing for around 16 months in French barriques.

"Many individuals" – is the motto of this extraordinary comet, named after Rainer Zierock, the late viticulture professor and friend of the Lageder family. Over 25 years ago, Zierock planted over 200 grape varieties from all over the world in Casòn Hirschprunn in Margreid, between 230 and 360 metres above sea level on sandy, stony dolomitic limestone soil. What began as an ampelographic experiment became a vinological statement: a blended set not of three, but of around 200 different varieties – white and red grapes together. A clockwork that ticks once a year and strikes once a millennium – designed for 10,000 years. Brian Eno and a group of thinkers founded the Long Now Foundation in 1996 to broaden the view: away from the immediate and towards the long now. Giorgio Pelissero recognised this as the essence of his profession – because there is time in wine. In 1999, he acquired Cascina Tolino between Treiso and Neviglie, steep terrain divided by a municipal border: Only the Nebbiolo on the Treiso side is allowed to become Barbaresco. He combined the rest with Barbera to create perhaps the oldest assemblaggio in Piedmont – only rethought. A vineyard like a time capsule: Replanted around 1900 after the phylloxera epidemic, the oldest vines have been growing here for 120 years on calcareous sandy loam soils between 290 and 320 metres above sea level. With MAX XIX, Alois Lageder is preserving one of these rare South Tyrolean treasures – an authentic "mixed set" of different Vernatsch varieties such as Tschaggelevernatsch, Edelvernatsch and Grauvernatsch, complemented by Lagrein, Teroldego and other indigenous varieties. The special thing about this heterogeneity: at harvest time, some grapes are perfectly ripe, others are already overripe and others are still unripe – a natural interplay between sugar and acidity that gives each vintage its own tension.

Medium ruby red. Opens with ripe fruit notes of redcurrants, wild cherries and dried raspberries, then grilled herbs and liquorice in the background. This Rosso is more powerful and opulent than many of its competitors, almost reaching the intensity of a Brunello. Chianti Classico DOCG 2022
The 2022 marks a significant transition: it is the last vintage that Paolo de Marchi characterised before Emanuele Reolon took over as technical director. But the signature remains unmistakable. Since the 1980s, de Marchi was one of the first in Chianti Classico to plant high-density vineyards with low-yielding Sangiovese clones on poor Galestro soils at an altitude of 400 metres – a revolution in quality. The cuvée of 90% Sangiovese, supplemented by 10% Canaiolo, ferments for twelve days in stainless steel using the characteristic délestage method, which de Marchi has been refining since 1996. Seven months of ageing in barriques of different sizes give the wine complexity without dominance.

Until 2012, this wine bore the name of the estate itself – passopisciaro. A blend from different altitudes and contrade – from Malpasso to Guardiola and Santo Spirito –which shows the full range of what Nerello Mascalese can achieve on Mount Etna. The higher vineyards lie on coarse-grained lava gravel, the lower ones on finer, oxidised lava powder: each layer contributes to the complexity of this wine. 80 to 110-year-old vines, fermented in steel tanks, matured for 18 months in large neutral wooden barrels and concrete tanks, bottled unfiltered.

“Collepiano” Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG 2021
Collepiano (gentle hills) is what Marco Caprai calls the vineyards where his vision took shape at the end of the 1980s: to restore the Sagrantino, this ancient Umbrian vine with the highest tannin content in the wine world, to its lost greatness. Not as a sweet passito behind monastery walls, but as a dry red wine of international calibre. What followed was a revolution: collaboration with the University of Milan, clone selection, high-density plantings – and, in 1996, the legendary "25 Anni", the Sagrantino that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones chose for their wedding. Collepiano comes from pure Sagrantino from the Val di Maggio vineyards. After the harvest, the must underwent temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by gentle extraction over ten to fourteen days. The cuvée matured for twenty-two months in French barriques and a further six months in the bottle – time that gave this tannin-rich wine structure and soul.

!["Carleone" Chianti Classico DOCG 2023 (BIO)]()
“Carleone” Chianti Classico DOCG 2023 (BIO)
Unmistakable interpretation of the Chianti Classico: sparkling ruby colour with a pronounced garnet hue. Very inviting aroma of cherries and delicate meadow herbs, with a nutty touch. Medium-bodied on the palate, again wonderfully juicy fruit, cool, mineral style, very finely structured and balanced, with lively animo, lingers quite long and makes you want the next glass. The perfect accompaniment to Italian dishes. SUPERIORE.DE

Merlot Alto Adige DOC 2020
Deep garnet red, in the fruity bouquet notes of red berries, wild herbs, cherries, plums and a hint of undergrowth and figs. Beautiful structure and elegance, spicy, dense, round, smooth tannins and a subtle vanilla note. A charming Merlot that spoils the palate. SUPERIORE.DE

!["Lareale" Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)]()
“Lareale” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2021 (BIO)
In the dizzying heights of Lamole, one of the highest appellations in Chianti Classico, the Sangiovese grapes for this exceptional Riserva grow at 470 to 655 metres. The historic terraces of local Macigno del Chianti – the characteristic sandstone that stores the sun's heat during the day and releases it again at night – create a unique microclimate for this organically certified wine. Lareale combines grapes from two of Lamole's best vineyards: "Il Prato" and "Le Masse". 95 per cent Sangiovese, supplemented by five per cent Canaiolo Nero, produce a Chianti Classico of remarkable elegance and oysteriness after optical berry selection and two weeks of maceration. Maturation in oak barrels for over two years gives the wine additional complexity and structure.

![Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC 2023 (BIO)]()
Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC 2023 (BIO)
This wine bears the small print name Viola delle Viole, although its fruit comes from the Bricco delle Viole and Bricco Bertone vineyards, two sites with different soil types, one of which provides structure and the other aromatic purity. Opens with a dark, almost impenetrable appearance. Powerful aromas of blackberry jam and preserved cherries unfold on the nose. You can feel its warmth and richness and there is no way around it. It is a super-sized Barbera that goes one better in terms of extraction and intensity. The finish is almost sweet, followed by good acidity. It shows great aromatic perfection, length and a very accentuated style. SUPERIORE.DE
