PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO | Riserva 2021

There are few names in Piedmont that convey such a clear sense of provenance as Produttori del Barbaresco. Since its foundation in 1958, the cooperative has stood for an approach that has become rare in today’s wine-growing world: uncompromising quality, deep trust in the terroir and a stylistic continuity that has developed over decades. Here, it is not about interpretation, but about precision. Not about effects, but about expression.

At the heart of it all is Nebbiolo, understood as the medium of its origin. Hardly any other estate demonstrates so impressively how distinctively the Barbaresco vineyards can express themselves. In great vintages, nine single-vineyard wines are bottled as Riserva – each with its own distinct profile, each a precise snapshot of the overall picture.

Asili displays a delicate, almost ethereal nobility, Montefico a cool clarity and taut structure. Montestefano brings depth and balsamic spice, whilst Muncagota appears linear and focused. Ovello captivates with salty freshness and energy, Pajè with vibrant elegance. Pora combines accessibility with complexity, Rabajà stands for architectural power and inner tension. Finally, Rio Sordo brings together aroma, finesse and a supple texture in a particularly harmonious form.

With the 2021 vintage, these nine crus are once again in the spotlight. The wines express their terroir in its purest form: precise, nuanced and imbued with an inner calm that characterises great vintages. They are not designed for immediate impact, but for development, for time, for depth.

They are flanked by the Langhe Nebbiolo, which interprets the house’s signature in a more open, earlier-accessible style, thus offering a first glimpse into this world.

This creates a spectrum ranging from immediate enjoyment to the great, long-lived Riservas. A range that is not loud, but convinces through substance.

Discover now: the 2021 Riserva from Produttori del Barbaresco impressively demonstrates just how multifaceted terroir can be: nine vineyards, nine perspectives on one of Nebbiolo’s great regions. SUPERIORE.DE
