"Lustrous ruby. Complex nose of cherry, iron and blood orange and with a hint of oak. Succulent, lush fruit with gripping but fine tannins. Lots of juice and fruit and with long underlying tannins. Fantastic bite and juiciness on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Very pleasant, fruity aromas of sweet wild strawberries and crushed raspberries follow through to a full-bodied palate with fine and firm tannins and plenty of fruity flavor, turning to a walnut-cream aftertaste." James Suckling

The eleven hectare vineyard of the brothers Gianni and Fratelli Martini, situated on the slope of the Bricco del Barolo, is one of the young and very productive wineries in the Langhe. After numerous modernisations and extensive new plantings, Lo Zoccolaio has now become one of the leading producers in Piedmont. The estate stands for wines with more fruit, more fullness and a ruby red colour. According to the management of the estate, Barolo is prepared in full respect of its origins and the ancient traditions associated with it, without abandoning modern methods and sophisticated techniques. The winemaking process began with barriques and then moved on to larger wooden barrels. The vineyards are planted with Barbera, Dolcetto, Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay next to Nebbiolo.
In addition to Cascina Lo Zoccolaio, the Martini brothers also own Castello La Toledana in Gavi, Cascina La Doria in San Cristoforo and Villa Lanata in Cossano Belbo. The distribution of the products of all four goods was carried out under the umbrella of the "Distribuzione Domini Villae Lanata" bundled. Lo Zoccolaio produces only red wines whose grapes come from its own vineyards in Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Novello. The double tree of life is the characteristic symbol on the labels of the house.
In addition to his two Barolo wines, the small producer became famous in the wine world for his Suculé and Baccanera wines. The Suculé was awarded the second best Barbera of the vintage by the Italian wine critic Luca Maroni in 2006. The drops produced under the supervision of oenologist Massimo Marasso convince customers with an appropriate price/performance ratio.
The Cantina Lo Zoccolaio also includes the star restaurant "Locanda nel Borgo Antico" of top chef Massimo Camia. Guests can choose from a wide range of regional and international wines and enjoy the view of the magnificent Barolo vineyards. SUPERIORE.DE
