“Scalabrone” Rosato Bolgheri DOC 2022
Scalabrone presents itself generously every year, but also incredibly fresh. It shows ripe strawberries with hints of sweet cream, tropical kiwi and lime. It washes over the palate with ease, carrying ripe red fruits, a hint of melon and a piquant minerality. The finish is long and flanked by lively acidity and salty minerals. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah is perfectly balanced and makes this tasty rosato one of the most vibrant in the appellation every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Pink in colour. In the nose of fresh wild berries and Mediterranean maquis, then slightly of white rose petals. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with a discreet tannic trip, fun, medium-long final." Falstaff
"A pretty blend of roses, strawberries and mint introduces the 2022 Rosato Scalabrone. This is silky-smooth with medium-bodied weight and unexpected depth. Zesty citrus gives way to ripe red berries and sweet spice. A saline tinge of minerality defines the finish as the 2022 tapers off crisply refreshing and buzzing with a residual acid tension." Vinous

Rich, beautifully balanced bouquet with notes of kumquats. Yellow stone fruit, graphite, minerals and a delicate vanilla note on the palate. This fresh and incredibly charming white wine is already elegant, balanced, full-bodied and persistent on the palate; further maturation in the bottle will round it off perfectly. SUPERIORE.DE
"This fresh white wine shows a fine interplay between rich flavours of apple cream, persimmon, vanilla and biscuit, with notes of lemon zest and tangy salinity. Light to medium-bodied and creamy on the palate, with a well-cut finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2022 Bramìto della Sala is rich and flavoursome in the glass, opening slowly to reveal notes of young peach and apricot, crushed stones and a hint of cardamom. It feels silky yet buoyant, with ripe white stone fruits complemented by notes of vanilla pod and lemon custard. The 2022 finishes with admirable length and power, while a hint of residual acidity provides a lovely freshness. Bramìto della Sala remains one of the best Chardonnay wines in Italy." Vinous

“Villa Antinori” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2021
The grapes for the Villa Antinori Riserva come from four different municipalities in Chianti Classico: San Casciano, Gaiole, Castellina and Greve. The current edition is multi-layered with a wonderful bouquet of dark fruit, gravel and beautiful spices. On the palate, the wine has a velvety attack that is savoury, complex and persistent, with spicy notes of sweet tobacco and dark chocolate. This Riserva has a balance and length that will delight any Tuscany fan. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori is not married to a particular subzone of the appellation, as it is intended to reflect a house style rather than a vineyard identity. Aged in tonneaux and partly in barriques, the wine is rich and persistent. It remains elegant on the palate, with fine tannins and a good fruit tension with cherry and blue flowers." Wine Advocate

Rich ruby red colour, with a delicate woody note on the nose resulting from the fact that around 45% of the wine is aged for a short time in barriques. “Marchese Antinori” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Since the 2011 vintage, the Riserva Marchese Antinori has been made entirely from grapes from Tenuta Tignanello. As a result, the production volume has decreased and a further leap in quality has been made. Sparkling ruby in colour, with a bouquet of dark wild cherries, graphite, violets and spices. Flowing and round on the palate, very juicy, the French oak adds volume and fullness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright ruby red colour. Fragrant, new precious wood on the nose, delicate cherry, with some coconut and light vanilla, raspberry fruit on the finish, fragrant. Elegant and wood-accentuated style on the palate, everything is in its place, currently still a little young, shows very good foresight." Falstaff
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori, from the Tignanello estate, is packed with black cherry, spice, new leather, liquorice and dried flowers. A dash of Merlot gives it soft contours, but it's a fairly crowded style that works well here." Vinous
"Dense with fruit concentration, red fruits, a hint of wood spice and dried herbs. Full-bodied with a rich mouthfeel. Long and powerful. Modern and balanced." Decanter
"This wine is similar in structure to a Brunello with excellent length. Racy and concentrated. Aromas of violets and dried flowers with a hint of bark and dark cherries. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a marvellous finish. A wine for now or for the cellar." James Suckling
"A lean, elegant red wine with fine, pure aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, iron, olives and tobacco. New oak is evident on the palate, adding both spice and structure, balanced by ample fruit and texture. Balanced, complex finish." Wine Spectator

Badia a Passignano is always one of the many highlights in the Antinori range and is probably the estate's most refined and elegant Sangiovese. It skilfully strikes a balance between richness and finesse, captivating from the very first sip. Lavender, mint, blue-purple fruit and liquorice are beautifully brought out. It is a very traditional and noble expression of the Tuscan grape that is hard to resist. SUPERIORE.DE

“Cervaro della Sala” Umbria IGT 2022
Castello della Sala has been producing one of Italy's most famous white wines, Cervaro, for many years. In recent years, it has become fresher and deeper at the same time, without the conservative, broad style that characterised older late harvest editions of this wine. On the nose, stewed apples, cream, notes of oak bark, mango and peach. The palate is full of tropical fruit with a fine vein of acidity and a precise mineral component. A long-lasting, beautiful white wine and rightly one of the most sought-after white wines in the wine world every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Castello della Sala 2022 Cervaro della Sala is based on Chardonnay and has a small part of the local grape Grechetto in the blend. The nose opens to a reductive note of flint or matchstick, but it lifts quickly to reveal soft orchard fruit, white peach and minty apple. There are delicately applied toasted notes with a hint of pecan or macadamia nut. To finish, you also get salty mineral notes that underline the extremely vertical or lifted personality of the bouquet." Wine Advocate

The pronounced mineral character of the wine with dusty white rock gives it lasting complexity and depth." Wine Advocate

For over six hundred years, the name of Marchesi Antinori has stood for excellence in the art of winemaking and for the finest tradition of patronage. Two areas that at first glance seem very different, but often developed in parallel: The Marchesi Antinori have often entrusted it to art to tell of the values and history of their house, whose coat of arms is itself a work of artistic significance, created in the early 16th century in the Florentine workshop of the sculptor and ceramist Giovanni della Robbia.
This dual passion finds expression at Accademia Antinori in the field of classical and traditional art and, since the realisation of the new Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery with the Antinori Art Project, also with regard to contemporary art. This special bottling (only available in magnum bottles) was created in honour of the historic patronage relationship between the Antinori family and the artist Giovanni della Robbia. Della Robbia created the family's coat of arms at the beginning of the 16th century.
We were allowed to taste the strictly limited wine this week: Balsamic and spicy notes on the nose. Slightly matured on the palate, but still taut, with very present fruit, good acidity and with soft tannin. As it progresses, well structured and long lasting, not only a brand ambassador of the Antinori family, but also a personality-strong representative of the wines of the Chianti Classico area. Excellent clarity and typical aromas of ripe fruit, notes of smoke, liquorice and tar. Continually reveals new nuances of its personality on the palate. Elegant and refined in every way. SUPERIORE.DE
"Homely aroma of blueberries, chocolate and leather; polished in the mouth, the tannins tight, lively fresh acidity, long red berry final. Fun to drink." Vinum
"Cabernet-related aromas come through well with dark fruits, blackberries and exotic spices. The wine is full-bodied in texture and structure, although it has a little more richness on the mid-palate. This gives Il Pino a more approachable appeal. It finishes on a bright note of sweet cherry." Wine Advocate
"Rich, intense ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. On the nose of rich Amarena cherries and ripe plums, then leather, chocolate and coffee grounds. Mouth-filling on the palate, with elegant tannin, harmonious, juicy and with a long final." Falstaff

Limitation of 1 articles per customer“Guado al Tasso” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020
Elegant and complex: Guado al Tasso with a warm-toned bouquet and an abundance of fruit that is just as impressive as its harmonious structure. Deep, dark, rich ruby-purple colour. Very clear and intense nose, with aromas of blackberries, cassis and dark cherries, underpinned by fine, spicy notes with hints of white pepper and cardamom. Very juicy on the attack and on the palate, with a lot of sweet melting flavour, interwoven, dense tannins, supple and elegant, very long finish. An excellent wine that offers maximum drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Elegant, aristocratic bouquet with concise Cabernet spice, graphite, tobacco, cassis, dark cherries and distinctive notes of prickly pear juice. Dense and elegant on the palate, modern style with polished tannins, again dark fruits, enormously juicy, great juicy tannins, nothing dries out here. Modern in the best sense of the word, but this is already very well done, some dark chocolate and nutty notes on the final. Much clearer and less characterised by wood than in some previous years." Weinwisser
"Aromas of black olives, berries, herbs, red beans, sour cherries and sage are followed by a full body with chewy tannins and plenty of structure. It is flavourful and intense. Needs time to develop. Best after 2027." James Suckling
"Packed with luscious blackberries, blackcurrants and blueberries, this red wine shows the expressive character of the vintage. Just when you think it's too flamboyant, the solid structure keeps it in check. It shows excellent balance and length with a hint of lavender and wild herbs on the lingering finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc." Wine Spectator
"Dense purple in the glass, the 2020 offers a complex bouquet of cassis, earthy forest floor, wild Mediterranean herbs and intense dried eucalyptus leaf. Density and extraction dance in an embrace on a palate that's full of concentration, youth and precision. The tannins are velvety, the acidity natural and crisp, and the use of oak well judged. The finish is focused on graphite minerality, for an enticing yet ageworthy Superiore." Decanter
"Multifaceted perfume on notes of cassis and pepper, with a touch of floral aromas; the attack is full-bodied and yet invigorating, elegant progression with tightly woven tannins, but also youthful acidity, supple, mouth-filling finish, the wood perfectly integrated." Vinum
"The wine shows a beautiful fullness and intensity. The Cabernet Franc is clearly noticeable and gives it the characteristic vertical structure and linearity that this grape variety is known for. You get black fruit, spice, white pepper and no sign of bitter stems or blackberries. Sweet, almost milky tannins are interwoven with fresh acidity, giving this wine good Storage potential. The use of new oak has been scaled back somewhat in this vintage." Wine Advocate
"The Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso 2020 is a rich, resonant wine that captures the natural vibrancy of the Tuscan coast. Blackberry jam, mocha, plum, chocolate, spice and espresso are all present in this medium-bodied but juicy and inviting Bolgheri red wine. The wine is very rich and resonant. This is a classic Guado al Tasso." Vinous
"The nose is rich with notes of blackberries, black cherries and earth, while an undertone of white pepper adds pep. Berries continue to dominate the supple, warm palate before a savoury, chocolaty finish with a further hint of pepper. The stoic tannins are balanced by a lively, persistent acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Bright, rich ruby violet colour with a subtly brightening rim. Inviting and clear on the nose, of ripe wild berry fruit and rich cherry, with fine mint notes, herbal tea, fine precious wood in the finish, hints of graphite. Juicy entry on the palate, then with tightly woven tannins, compact and balanced, clear fruit in the centre, long final with gentle, elegant pressure." Falstaff
"A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to best convey the complexity and elegance of the Bolgheri terroir. Black raspberries on the nose, then hints of undergrowth and pepper leaf and balsamic notes on the finish. In the mouth it is crisp and dense, with iodised tannins." Luca Gardini

Unique Supertuscan made from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Intense, deep and lively ruby red colour. On the nose, it surprises with its intensity and elegant complexity of flavours. Aromatic herbs and spices emerge from the ripe dark berries, with hints of roasted flavours and dry pastries, followed by delicate, subtle notes from the ageing in barriques. The fine, well-integrated flavour is full, enveloping, with velvety tannins and a freshness that invites you to drink it slowly. Balanced, harmonious, fine and expressive: this wine is capable of constantly evolving. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark nose, gently herbal and fragrant, with hints of ripe fruit such as sultanas, figs, plums and notes of jasmine and liquorice. Soft and supple, with life and energy. Round and intense, with sweet, ripe cherries and blackcurrants, this wine feels quite serious, structured and with definite muscle, but still with refinement in the tannic finesse and overall weight on the palate. Streamlined and focused, with a certain power that is still restrained at the moment, but noticeable nonetheless. Nice notes of graphite and cool blue fruit help offset the sweet ripeness that is evident, but this wine manages to straddle the line between the two." Decanter

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Tignanello” Toscana IGT 2020
Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico on the gentle hills between the valleys of the Greve and Pesa rivers and comprises 319 hectares of land, of which around 130 are planted with vines. The estate's vineyards include two jewels: Tignanello and Solaia, which are located on the same hill, on calcareous and schistose marl soils of marine origin from the Pliocene, and which benefit from warm days and fresh nights during the growing season. Two wines are produced from these vineyards, which many years ago had the potential to become the starting point of the Italian wine renaissance. Nothing has changed to this day.
Deep ruby red colour. Complex bouquet of ripe fruit such as cherry, strawberry and blackberry, with delicate hints of violet, mallow and rose in the background, followed by roasted coffee and some cocoa. Vibrant, full-bodied and very complex on the palate with primary fruit, elegantly integrated wood spice, pepper and liquorice. Tignanello 2020 is resonant, dense, breathtaking, almost regal. The balance and freshness of the vintage will ensure a promising further maturation and development towards even more finesse and elegance, which will certainly make this vintage one of the best in the long line-up of Tignanello vintages. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby colour with a delicate garnet rim. Very clear and precise on the nose, with a flavour of ripe, plump cherries and blackberries, plus delicate notes of chestnuts and blood oranges. Firm, savoury tannins characterise the palate, lots of juicy fruit, builds full-bodied." Falstaff
"A concentrated red wine with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, iron, tobacco and vanilla, framed by sweet spices and roasted flavours. It finishes with mouth-flattering tannins, but is quite balanced overall. Seductive and stylish." Wine Spectator
"The Tignanello 2020 shows a beautiful bouquet with an open-minded and accessible personality. Right away you can recognise dark cherries, dried raspberries, spices, toasted almonds and citrusy blood oranges. This vintage is very nice and will not require a long wait. The tannins are sweet and silky." Wine Advocate
"The Tignanello 2020 is so original, so intensely fruity that it almost tastes like a barrel sample. A burst of red Sangiovese fruit opens first, followed by notes of blood orange, cinnamon, spices, dried flowers and mocha that develop later. With time in the glass, the impressive dimensions come to light. In 2020, the Tignanello is wonderfully supple and racy, with fine tannins lying beneath a core of bright, plastic fruit. The balance here is simply superb. I can't wait to taste the 2020 again as it ages." Vinous
"The ancestor of the Supertuscans in timeless form: Multi-faceted bouquet with aromas of black cherries, black pepper, orange zest and herbs; despite its youth, it has a cosy texture, tightly woven tannins, the acidity provides ageing potential, complex finish that tempts you to have another glass." Vinum
"Violets and lavender with dark fruits and a hint of dark chocolate. Sophisticated nose. Medium-bodied with a fine tannin structure that gives it finesse and beauty. It is very long and lingers for minutes. Precision. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years." James Suckling
"One of the first Italian brands with international appeal and at the same time a great terroir wine. Refined bouquet with notes of blueberry jam, undergrowth and black peppercorns, with a citrus-like finish. Salty on the palate, very persistent, fruity and spicy on the finish." Luca Gardini
