Giuseppe Russo cultivates part of the 12 hectares of San Lorenzo vineyards at an altitude of about 750 metres on the slopes of Etna near Randazzo. The lava flows of recent decades have created a porous soil here, rich in volcanic rock, which provides excellent drainage.

Just 1,200 bottles were filled from this first vintage. The more than 80 year old vines deliver an extremely low yield, the more complex and multi-layered is the present result. Fine saltiness, light stone fruit and a well-dosed extract sweetness flow from the glass. On the palate a good structure, the play of acids and the noticeable minerality support the subtle aromas of white peach and grapefruit. In the finish then smoky and with a nice salty note.
