Vigneto Gallina is a parcel with iconic status and is located in the core area of the famous Barbaresco Gallina vineyard, north of Neive. Vines with an average age of around 55 years are rooted on south-facing slopes with calcareous marl and sandy inclusions – an expression of terroir, history and origin, carried in every drop. The 2021 vintage gave the wine precise balance: balanced ripening conditions combined with cool nights resulted in grapes with clear freshness and aromatic richness. After traditional mash fermentation, the wine matured for 16 months in new barriques – a decision that gives it depth and density without losing elegance, followed by ageing in the bottle.

In the glass, it has a brilliant ruby red colour with violet hues. The bouquet is refined and complex: dark sour cherry, ripe plum and Mediterranean herbs, interspersed with delicate floral notes, balsamic spice nuances and a hint of grilled liquorice. On the palate, Vigneto Gallina embodies almost dancing power – dense and elegant, carried by silky tannins and lively acidity. The salty minerality comes to the fore and lends the long finish a glass-like clarity and lasting tension. "The Barbera d'Alba Gallina 2021 is quite impressive in this vintage. The Gallina is dark and powerful, with excellent persistence and has plenty of texture, which has always been its hallmark, but without the heaviness and strong oak impression.
