In the hills between Castagneto Carducci and the Tyrrhenian Sea, Grattamacco achieves a feat: an elegant Vermentino that combines origin, grape variety and cultivation method with rare depth. The grapes come from organically cultivated plots at coastal altitudes – constantly ventilated, but characterised by intense sunshine and a high day/night temperature gradient. The combination of maritime breezes and calcareous soils creates a white wine of impressive substance.

Light gold in the glass with a greenish tinge. The bouquet is complex and fine: citrus blossom, mandarin, Williams pear, some sage and wet stone. The palate is fresh and structured at the same time, with juicy fruit, clear but well-integrated acidity, subtle phenolics and a salty, mineral core. The delicate woody character remains in the background, but provides depth and a silky texture. The finish is long, balanced and with fine pressure – not an explosion of flavours, but a calm finish that points to origin and precision craftsmanship. Grattamacco's Vermentino is one of Tuscany's top white wines: not a loud, sunny wine, but a finely modulated interplay of proximity to the sea, grape variety and craftsmanship.
