“Bricco dell’Uccellone” Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2020
With tireless dedication, the Bologna family fulfils the legacy of Giacomo Bologna, who is rightly called the father of modern Barbera d'Asti. The historic jewel of the house is the Bricco dell'Uccellone: dense and complex on the nose, with blackberry jam, mocha, liquorice and cloves in the drink. Its fine-grained tannins and excellent structure carry it with beautiful fruit and acid wire into a long-lasting finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Braida 2020 Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone is one of the bottles that made Italian wine history. It shows its dark and savoury side with ripe cherries, baked plums, spices, tarry smoke and campfire embers. With time, these flavours soften and reorganise, reminiscent of espresso beans or baking chocolate. The wine is very concentrated and fruit-driven." Wine Advocate
"A supple red wine with aromas of plums, blueberries, clay and toasted oak. It shows assertive tannins on the finish, but has plenty of fruit and the long finish shows its future potential." Wine Spectator
"Notes of crushed dark berries, chocolate, cured meat and dark earth. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and fresh with tension and energy to the dark fruit. Vivid acidity. Chalky and intense finish. Very attractive." James Suckling
"This historic Barbera opens with blackberry compote, spiced black plums, cedar and sweet spices. The opulent palate shows notes of preserved cherries, anise, cloves and cocoa, with polished and elegant tannins. The wine finishes with a lively acidity that keeps this big, bold and beautiful wine fresh with each glass." Wine Enthusiast

“Petrignano” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Dievoles Chianti Classico Petrignano is the result of the effort to highlight the identity characteristics of particularly suitable vineyards, leading to ever more precise expressions of Sangiovese. Petrignano is the name of a characteristic area with a soil rich in minerals and stones. At an altitude of about 330 metres, rocks protrude from the ground, typical of the geological formation of Monte Morello. The abundance of stones, the depth of the roots and the low growth of the vines result in an expressive and lush wine from this characteristic and authentic cru site.
Intense ruby red. Very appealing bouquet dominated by ripe fruit, cherry and blackberry aromas. Juicy, full and rich on the palate, with blackberry and ripe fruit flavours. Warm and velvety finish with fine and soft tannins that are very accentuated interwoven with the fine acid structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant medium ruby red with orange reflections. Lively cherry nose with some signs of development and hints of tobacco leaf and sweet spice. Spicy, juicy cherry fruit and crisp tannins. More energetic on the palate than on the nose, and that's where it hits the spot." Jancis Robinson
"Dark forest fruit with an earthy character offers plenty of appeal. High acidity and tannins with very good length." Decanter
"This is a new addition to the Dievole portfolio with a cool, retro-styled label. The organic 2020 Chianti Classico Petrignano is 100% Sangiovese fermented in cement tulips and aged in large oak casks over 12 months. Winemaking is simple and to the point. These results show vibrant freshness and pretty fruit purity with a focused delivery." Wine Advocate
"A supple red, infused with a beam of cherry and strawberry fruit, with a texture that is silky at first, then overtaken by firm, dusty tannins. The finish reveals almond, earth and herbal notes that linger long. Give it time for the two halves to meld together." Wine Spectator
"A delicious, crisp red with very fine tannins and a pretty and delicate finish. Very tasty and with a creamy texture. Fresh finish." James Suckling

“Monte Grande” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
"This wine comes from my family's historic vineyard. It is a wine that is the result of long reflection, study and experimentation, where nothing has been left to chance: Monte Grande is to be my great Soave wine." Graziano Prà
Monte Grande is the house's white cru and a blend of 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave of great complexity with ideal ageing potential. Deep bouquet of exotic fruits and rocks with a fine citrus note. Multi-layered and spicy on the palate, intense and sharply focussed, with mineral notes and a pretty salty core. Beautifully crafted acidity, with notes of orange zest and almonds on the long finish. A terrificmasterpiece! SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe fruit on the nose, from pineapple to gooseberry and a hint of snowberry. Medium-bodied with a gentle honey note competing with stony minerals that colour the finish. A powerful Monte Grande." James Suckling
"A rich petrol note on the nose that underlines the flavours of blood orange, pink grapefruit granita, blanched almonds and white flowers on the palate. The generous, expressive profile of this wine is well tamed by well-balanced acidity and a hint of salinity on the finish." Wine Spectator
"A vibrant mix of wild flowers, yellow apples and ground ginger form a captivating bouquet as the Soave Classico Monte Grande 2021 blossoms in the glass. It is round and supple, with cooling minerality and fresh acidity that gives a wonderful lift to ripe stone fruit and minty herbal notes. A hint of lime and a saline note give the 2021 a lovely finish that is long and colourful, but graceful and floral. What a treasure." Vinous
"Aromas of an elegant bouquet of white blossoms, crushed stones and ripe apricots. Its palate elegantly navigates between a silky texture and a vibrant acidity, culminating in a flinty minerality that captures the essence of the Soave landscape." Wine Enthusiast

“St. Valentin” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in gift box
Pinot Blanc Sanct Valentin - a lively and powerful top wine made from grapes from single vineyards with minimal yields. Golden yellow with green reflections, velvety soft aromas of apple, melon and vanilla on the nose; complex flavour, fresh and elegant with mineral finesse and a delicately bitter finish. Good ageing and Storage potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. White stone fruit and Golden Delicious apple on the nose, with floral notes and a touch of hazelnut from the fine wood ageing on the finish. Pleasant mouthfeel on the palate, fresh and juicy, well-balanced, with a long finish." Falstaff
"Pure and mineral bouquet with apple slices, stones and a hint of mussels. Nicely salty on the palate, with a medium body and a fresh, elegant finish. Good length." James Suckling
"The 2021 Sanct Valentin Pinot Blanc from South Tyrol shows an initially neutral bouquet with clear notes of white pomelo fruit, lemon, pulverised stone and a hint of freshly grated ginger root. There are glacier-like flavours of salted road surface with melted snow, or alternatively salt from the rim of a margarita glass. I love this style of alpine Italian white wine." Wine Advocate

“Nussbaumer” Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in gift box
The world-famous Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer has been a real benchmark for years and is also a convincing wine in terms of longevity. Bright yellow in colour with greenish reflections. Typically perfect, complex and deep, but also agile and fresh with beautiful nuances. Smoky notes, black tea, yellow-spicy fruit. On the palate it flows silky smooth, velvety and spicy, lingers for a long time, great! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling straw yellow with clear green nuances. Impressive nose with fragrant notes of fresh rose petals, lots of lychee and mango, some cloves in the background. Round and supple in the attack and on the palate, intense spicy notes, lays over the tongue like a carpet, also shows good freshness and juiciness, very long finish." Falstaff
"An opera house full of expanse, roses and drama. Satin and cardamom. Salt and baklava. Bay leaf and Turkish delight. No rough edges, no bite - like a dance of ribbons. Rippling, gyrating, swirling wonders that flow through the mouth. Astonishing tenderness, despite the tiny fiery sharpness of the ginger biscuit. Still youthfully tingling, but already in all its splendour. Jancis Robinson
"This creamy white wine smells of jasmine and lime blossom, is light and fresh, with lively acidity that frames flavours of baked peach, lemon oil, tangerine peel and fresh thyme." Wine Spectator
"Elegant flavours of lychee, white peach, ginger and roses, but it remains restrained and multi-layered. This is not a brash Gewürztraminer, packed with flavours that make you feel a bit too much. On the contrary, it's quite interwoven and refined, with a natural, medium-bodied acidity that adds enough freshness to the round, flavourful palate. Medium to full-bodied, supple and generous with subtle glycerine sweetness and phenolic notes on the finish. Flavours of lychee and orange blossom on the finish." James Suckling
"Nussbaumer is the result of around 20 different vinifications of Gewurztraminer, each with a different level of residual sugar. It spends 11 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks before bottling, lending freshness and texture to the intensity of rose petal, tropical fruit, soft pear, mango and white flowers. Incredibly fresh and long, this is benchmark stuff." Decanter

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
For some years now, Le Macioche has been owned by one of Italy's largest wine families. The Cotarella clan acquired this boutique winery a few years ago, and since then the wines have experienced a real leap in quality. This is the second vintage under the full control of the family and it is a beautiful Brunello with controlled ripeness and highly precise tannins, texture and preserved freshness. It literally radiates from the glass with bright berry intensity and a smoky blend of black raspberry and plum. The palate is energetic and fresh, with hints of violets and lavender. It impressively proves that the winery is now in the best hands. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Le Macioche 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Cotarella offers tart fruit and bright cherry aromas. There is some oak spice, but more prominent are the varietal aromas of crushed stone, pencil shaving, dried rose and grilled herb. The mouthfeel shows medium length with bright acidity. Give it a few more years to soften and integrate." Wine Advocate
"Nice, earthy savoriness with dried strawberry, orange and licorice, showing some depth and complexity. Firm, but polished, with a ripe and juicy berry fruit profile and a long, savory finish." James Suckling
"This is slippery, with cherry, raspberry, peony and stony mineral flavors embedding the glycerol texture. Revealing earth and underbrush details, this feels poised to integrate and emerge from its shell in 2 to 3 years. Features fine balance, even if the finish is compact now." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impresses with a rich blend of crushed red and black fruits complemented by hints of brown spice and mocha. It washes across the palate, energetic yet potent, drenching all that it touches with masses of mineral-intense notes of cherry and plum. A fine web of tannins embrace the senses through the finish, leaving hints of licorice and violet florals to resonate on. Le Macioche comes across as one of the most well-tailored and structured wines of the vintage. It’s a classic in the making. Nicely done." Vinous
"The brooding nose is all spices and medicinal herbs, old leather and cigar box, though dried cherries, figs and dark chocolate lurk underneath and reveal themselves more clearly on the palate, next to palate-stripping tannins that guarantee age." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
The already very well-balanced and classic 2018 vintage can gain again with Fuligni, because no Riserva was produced. Ruby red with orange reflections. On the nose, after some aeration, ripe morello cherries, violets, roses and lots of Mediterranean scrub. Powerful on the palate, the silky tannins give it elegance and the necessary balance, its complexity comes to the fore with every sip. This very authentic and strongly focused Brunello can be counted among the best of the vintage, its wonderfully balanced proportions and its juiciness will give it further impetus in the coming years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Clear, quite firm, a touch floral aroma of ripe red and also black berries with nutty aromas, a little tobacco, cigar ash, dried herbs and dried meat. Firmly woven, tart and juicy, quite noble fruit, present, fine, youthful tannin, some acid bite, peppery and ethereal herbal nuances on the palate, persistent, good depth, salt in the background, a little cocoa and coffee, complex, still undeveloped but already impressive, has tension and finesse, very good, tight finish with coffee notes and ethereal, also slightly resinous spice." Wein-Plus
"Sparkling, medium dense ruby with a broad garnet rim. Very fragrant and inviting nose, shows lots of fresh fruit, of fresh plum and cherry, fine herbal spice in the background. Compact and present in attack and course, shows itself very balanced and clear, very well integrated tannin, spreads out in long waves, nice juiciness in the drink." Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red with orange reflections. There is a kinship with the Rosso 2020 in the oak notes, but here it is a bit more complex and less exotic. Iron, cherry, raspberry with complex oak notes in the background. Cardamom and cumin. A good mouthful of juicy red fruits with fine but persistent tannins. Refreshing, transparent and elegant. Quite amazing balance and lovely bite." Jancis Robinson
"It takes quite a while for the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino to open in the glass. A cloud of white smoke gives way to a sweet-smelling blend of dried roses, sugared cherries and a hint of exotic spices. This is a round and supple 2018 that conveys elegance through its velvety texture, polished ripe red fruits and cascading florals of violets. The 2018 is opulent but also has the acidity to keep it balanced, as it finishes long with classically refined tannins but leaves the palate perfectly poised for another sip. Honestly, it's hard to put this glass down. No Riserva will be produced in 2018, so all the juice has been used to support this open and seductive Brunello." Vinous
"A fine Brunello with aromas and flavours of black cherries, hazelnuts and chocolate. Very perfumed. Medium body with a nice texture and delicious finish. Nice, fine tannins. Not the best structured red wine, but it will improve with age and is a wonderful treat right now." James Suckling
"The Fuligni 2018 Brunello di Montalcino stands out for its supple integration of aromas and the carefully balanced intensity achieved here, which shows verve but also remains very fine and nuanced. The bouquet is multi-layered and reminiscent of wild fruits, cassis, rock gravel, candied oranges and fresh herbs or rosemary. A floral note also emerges, reminiscent of rose or orris root. The tannins are very well integrated and silky. You hardly feel them, and yet the wine has a firm structure throughout." Wine Advocate
"An elegant, juicy red wine with pure cherry and rosehip flavours. Nice balance of fruit, acidity, tannins and texture, with accents of earth, tobacco and wild herbs adding detail. The long finish suggests great potential." Wine Spectator
"Under the direction of Maria Flora Fuligni since 1971, along with her long-time right-hand woman Dr Daniela Perino - now CEO of the winery - Fuligni is one of the denomination's most consistent performers. The 2018 does not disappoint: it embodies the elegance of the vintage. The nose is a captivating synthesis of flowers and earth, exuding pressed violets, lavender and roses with accents of truffle and tobacco. In the mouth, it unfolds with flavour rather than weight or power. Redcurrants and oranges are enhanced by piercing acidity, and the shapely, gorgeously textured tannins are chalky and appropriately cushioned, adding layers and depth. This wine, which is not beyond its capacity, will drink beautifully over the next decade." Decanter
The Fuligni winery offers an "evergreen" at its best with this version of the traditional-style Brunello. Blackcurrant and juniper on the nose, with a hint of pepper leaf on the finish. Salty and taut tannins on the palate, fruity-balsamic return on the finish." Luca Gardini

“Capitel Monte Olmi” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2017
Capitel Monte Olmi 2017 takes things to another level. It coats the glass with a deep purple glow and exudes a dark and seductive bouquet of redcurrants, sultanas, black liquorice and a hint of spiced citrus. The deep, velvety texture is complemented by juicy acids and tart red fruits that drench everything they touch, leaving a complex layer of savoury spices, minerals and fine tannins. This wine is structured, long and full of character, but with a balance that will carry it for many years in the cellar. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, shiny ruby red with garnet reflections. Very intense aromas of blueberry, black elderberry, ripe plum, sandalwood, chocolate and tobacco leaf on the nose. Powerful and very fruity on the palate, delicately spicy and dense, with fine tannins, very balanced final with great drinking pleasure." Falstaff
"Blackberry pie, sweet and savoury spices, woody herbs and violets swirl in the glass. In the mouth, it's lush and creamy, with cooked plums and black cherries on the mid-palate accompanied by anise, clove and pepper, finishing with fine tannins and bright acidity. The wine shows the 2017 vintage with its concentrated richness, but there is enough acidity to hold the wine together." Wine Enthusiast
"It starts with oak aromas on the nose, but as soon as you put the wine in your mouth, the bright dried berries begin to unfold and soak up the oak flavours, leading to a full-bodied, long and balanced finish. Although the flavour spectrum is not particularly complex at this stage, this wine is well-structured and already approachable. But Amarone fans will certainly want to cellar this wine, as the enormous ageing potential is obvious from the first sip." James Suckling
"The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Capitel Monte Olmi is youthfully coy, slowly blossoming with swirling to reveal notes of cocoa, clove, lavender and dried black cherries. Creamy and seamlessly silky, this soothes the palate with its cooling acidity as masses of ripe red and blue fruits slowly saturate. A bitter tinge of dark chocolate lingers along with a tart berry concentration, all framed by crunchy tannins. This is an excellent effort for this warm and dry vintage. Its balance is spot on." Vinous
"One of the most traditional wineries in Valpolicella, ancient wisdom combined with modern intuition. A Riserva made from Corvina, Rondinone, Rondinella and other red grapes, taut on the nose with notes of laurel and eucalyptus, fresh, dense and deep on the palate, with a spicy-salty finish." Friulano Collio DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
Mineral and delicate Friulano, on the nose grapefruit, peach, white pepper, figs and bananas. Then deep and complex on the palate with further appetising flavours of tropical fruits, apricots and hazelnuts. Very long and with its salty swing great as every year! SUPERIORE.DE
"Golden pale yellow; fruity, elderflower, appealing; powerful, intensely fruity, nettle, round, delicate, very pleasant." Merum
"Sometimes you can just smell "beautiful", and this is one of those cases. Wafting, almost lacy aromas of white peach, apricot and Fuji apples dance from the glass. Hints of wet river rock and fresh herbs emerge as the wine opens. On the palate, the wine focuses on perfectly ripe stone fruit, wild flowers and crushed rock. Balanced acidity ensures that the wine gains momentum with every sip." Wine Enthusiast
"The Friulano 2021 is youthfully unobtrusive with a pretty bouquet that mixes lemon peel with mint and nuances of crushed rock. It washes over the palate with a tense mix of citrusy acids and salty minerals, while a core of tropical melon develops towards the end. The 2021 finishes on a more delicate note, but long and with pretty inner flowers still lingering. The beautiful balance and underlying power of this wine will ensure it ages beautifully in bottle. The best is yet to come." Vinous
"White peaches and cooked apples with undertones of flint and matches. Also some iron filings. Full-bodied but compact, dense and fresh. Very mineral, with undertones of dried peach, citrus and minerals and a bright finish. Very solid." James Suckling

“25 Anni” Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG 2019
In the Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni, all the elements of a wine full of character multiply exponentially: room-filling aromas of sweet berries, perfectly integrated wood tones, a cornucopia of ripe fruit on the palate, powerful and sensual. Caprai's top wine, which gives incredible pleasure and must be aerated for 3-4 hours when young. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe dark berries, chocolate, sweet spices, charred bark, walnuts and a hint of tar on the nose. Full and intense with depth and persistence in the fruit and firm, slightly chewy tannins. Long lasting and earthy finish." James Suckling
"A rich, medium to full-bodied red with a fragrant thread of chopped marjoram, orange peel and spice box that winds through concentrated flavours of reduced cherries, damson jam, red liquorice and tarry minerals. Firm and chewy, but balanced overall, with a tightly wound, well-spiced finish." Wine Spectator
"This darkly coloured wine opens with rich aromas of preserved blackberry, preserves, pepper and clove with a hint of violet. The powerful palate is layered with black plums, dried herbs, baking spices and forest floor, all framed by classically firm Sagrantino tannins and finishing with balanced acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"24 months in barriques for the 'definitive' Sagrantino, the culmination of years of research: sour cherry, balsamic notes and star anise, with a hint of wild iris, dense, juicy, savoury on the palate, with notes of undergrowth, black fruits and sweet spices." Luca Gardini
"Rich ruby red with a garnet-red rim. Intense and multi-layered on the nose, with notes of ripe blackberries and Amarena cherries, echoes of violets, dark chocolate and malt, slightly ethereal. Powerful but well-integrated tannins on the palate, builds up in a multi-layered way with a very long final." Falstaff
"The 2019 Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni is imposing, buzzing with a dark mix of dried black cherries, crushed plums, sage, allspice and sweet mint. The texture is exciting, velvety yet cool, weighty yet tangy, washing over the palate with polished red and black fruits and slowly building black tea tannins. An abundance of spice, tobacco and blood orange nuances linger on the finish with tremendous length and concentration. The balance is absolutely fantastic. This is a breathtaking achievement." Vinous

“Oreno” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Deep dark ruby-purple colour. On the nose, cassis, blackcurrants and a strong herbal spice with a good dose of pipe tobacco, tar and crushed gravel. On the palate, dark berries, chocolate and a cornucopia of herbs define the full-bodied palate. This juicy wine monument has precisely integrated tannins, an enormous silkiness and an almost endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, intense colour. Rich, sweet and chocolaty, the Oreno smells of rum pot and shows a beautiful fullness, yet the wood shines through a little, as the core flavour is still underdeveloped. Sweet, broad and compact, it appears in the mouth with a lot of substance and core, with an equally concentrated centre. The powerful tannins are arranged in a straightforward manner, accompanied by a fine woody shimmer and good texture." Weinwisser
"A juicy red characterised by blueberries, boysenberries, cassis, wild herbs and oak spices. It shows a range of dusty tannins that have a firm grip on the compact finish, but it has freshness, plenty of fruit and persistence." Wine Spectator
"Fruity, floral aromas of dried cherries, raspberries and violets on the nose segue into spicy notes of pencil shavings and hot tar, before more mixed berries overlay spicy, earthy notes on the palate, with a hint of orange pith providing astringency on the long, umami-rich finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Oreno richly concentrated aromas to match. You get black fruit, toasted barbecue spice, mahogany and smoke. There are pronounced herbal notes with grilled sage and rosemary. This wine definitely embraces a full-bodied, old-school style that is heavily influenced by Bordeaux." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Oreno is great. In fact, the 2021 is one of the best Orenos I can remember tasting. Aromatic, rich and deep, with tonnes of textural resonance, the 2021 has so much to offer. Scents of tobacco, espresso, spice, new leather and spice open up first, leading to waves of dark, resonant fruit that build over time. Impressive. This is a particularly heady, flamboyant Tuscan red wine. A style that works very well in 2021." Vinous
"Dark blackberry fruit and intense floral and spicy aromas, liquorice and olives with nuances of blueberries and roses. The tannins are grippy but give direction rather than being heavy or broad. On the palate, it remains quite straightforward, persistently in line from start to finish. I love the juiciness, the strawberry juice with herbal accents and clean, ferruginous minerality that comes across as slightly tangy and savoury on the finish, lingering with a zesty olive note." Decanter
"Bright ruby violet colour. Opens with an elegant nose, notes of elderberries, chocolate, stewed blackberries, some liquorice. Present on the palate, with nerve, grippy but very energetic, clean tannins, full-bodied, long, juicy finish lasting many minutes." Falstaff
"Blackcurrants and black cherries with beautiful flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that give the wine focus and tension. Pretty and balanced. A little shy now." James Suckling
"Unique location, south-facing vineyards in the river basin of the same name. Taut nose, blackberry, eucalyptus, pink pepper and capers, peony and balsamic finish. Dense on the palate, crisp, spicy tannins, fresh citrus flavours with a long, drinkable finish." Luca Gardini

Barolo Ravera DOCG 2019
Barolo Ravera comes from a single vineyard with vines that are almost 50 years old. In the glass, it impresses with a strong, aromatic opening flavour. Bright, precise and finely chiselled, the Ravera captures everything good that the vintage has to offer. Cherry, sweet mint, candy and expressive floral notes are given an extra kick of inner sweetness by Ravera's natural energy. There is so much to look forward to as the wine develops over the next few years! SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant, deep ruby red colour. Stunning raspberry nose with a hint of crushed blackcurrant. Smooth but still a little austere with super long, muscular tannins that are still a little restless. Perfect balance between fruit and supple acidity. Enormous length without being heavy. Not yet ripe." Jancis Robinson
"Extremely engaging bouquet of red berries, leather and tobacco; juicy on the palate, the tannins are well integrated, ending on an inspiringly complex note of fruit, herbs and hot stone. A seducer that should be enjoyed with food." Vinum
"The 2019 Barolo Ravera combines finesse with the energy that is typical of all wines from this part of the appellation. Tasted alongside the 2018, it has a wonderful inner sweetness and a captivating perfume that matches its medium-weight personality. Candy sugar, blood orange, mint, iron, spices and dried flowers open up in the glass. Again, the tannins are admirably balanced for a young Ravera Barolo." Vinous
"There is a lot in this complex red wine. In addition to flavours of cherries, strawberries, earth, spices and iron, there are also hints of menthol and tobacco. Harmonious, with a long, resonant finish that reflects both the fruit and the spicy notes." Wine Spectator
"Bright ruby-garnet colour, shiny. Red peach, mint and raspberry on the nose, with fine floral notes, multi-layered and complex, inviting. On the palate with polished fruit and supple tannins, very elegant, comes in many layers, with a long salty finish." Falstaff
"The bouquet is a heady palette of essential oils of orange peel, peach kernel and sweet violets, with some foliage and cinnamon candy. This sweetness of flavours is enveloped by youthful and grainy, yet velvety and elegant tannins, which are combined with the crisp, if not piquant, acidity of Ravera. A wine rich in extracts, where the power is emphasised by its freshness, with a very precise finish." Decanter
"The tannins are pure and long, of a steely and muscular nature, but well integrated. Full and toned. This is a wine for the cellar, already showing beautiful floral and blue fruit flavours. Drink it after 2029." James Suckling
"This wine opens the window to one of the best cru sites in the appellation - the Ravera vineyard on the Novello side, where steep hills descend from a castle perched on a beautiful panorama. From this vantage point, you can see Novello and the Elvio Cogno winery, which is located halfway up the slope. The Barolo Ravera 2019 benefits from this special location and represents a broader network of selected fruit from the entire vineyard of the estate. As a result, the Ravera often displays a particular versatility and depth. The 2019 vintage offers wild berries, blackcurrants, tart fruit, iodine and campfire ash. It is on the darker and more concentrated side of the Barolo spectrum." Wine Advocate
"Crushed raspberries and sour cherries lift from the glass, with hints of rosebud, thyme and leather. The elegant palate showcases proper tannin management with supple tannin, and vibrant acidity creating an elegant profile. The palate continues with notes of red nectarine, macerated raspberries and crushed stones that are all additive as the wine will continue to develop with time in the cellar." Wine Enthusiast
"From the famous Novello vineyard, a Barolo with temperament and character. On the nose, freshness, nectarine, white melon, then bay leaf and finally nuances of nutmeg. On the palate, sensations of blood orange, salty, tense and shaking, with a recurring fruit." Luca Gardini

Barolo “Baudana” DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Black cherry fruit, smoke, wild herbs, liquorice and tar form a compelling backdrop of aromas, flavours and textures as this dazzling, powerful Barolo opens up in the glass. The intense final is accompanied by delicate rose petals, lavender and a fine mineral-salty vein. Its stable tannin structure awaits a few more years of ageing in the bottle, as is typically the case with a classic Serralunga Barolo. SUPERIORE.DE
"The bouquet is dominated by forest fruit and wild flower flavours, also fine spice; juicy in the mouth, the tannins noticeable, ends long on notes of plums and liquorice. To accompany a roast beef." Vinum
"Notes of ground spices, nutshells and cedar wood with subtle flavours of red fruits in the background. Medium-bodied, structured and firm. Strong and slightly tart on the finish." James Suckling
"Aromas of cherries, raspberry liqueur, mint and minerals emphasise this taut, dense red wine, which is balanced and has notes of eucalyptus and juniper on the long finish." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Baudana 2019 offers good power and ripeness with sweet fruit flavours, dark cherry, spices and ferruginous earth. These flavours are characteristic of this vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba. On the palate, the wine is silky and generous, with a salty minerality on the finish." Wine Advocate
"The Baudana, fermented and aged in large oak barrels, shows great complexity and finesse of liquorice root, smoky forest, rose and violet aromas, with wild strawberry and peony in the depths. The palate is firm and acidic, with structured but fine-grained tannins. It has the dustiness typical of Nebbiolo and is super-tart but fierce in character, with a hint of youthful rusticity on the finish. I would age it given its old-fashioned character." Decanter
"Intense, sparkling ruby colour with a slightly light rim. Opens with distinctly fragrant notes of peony, fresh cherries and some strawberry. Juicy on the attack and on the palate, with beautifully emphasised fruit and polished tannins that create firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Vivid aromas of cherry stand out as the dominant fruit note, harmonizing with abundant mineral and mixed spice characteristics. The palate presents a firm yet giving structure. The chiseled palate offers notes of wildflowers, savory herbs and spices finishing with a persistent minerality." Wine Enthusiast
"The most classic of all house brands, a wine with complexity and finesse. Notes of red plums on the nose, then mentholated notes of eucalyptus, juniper and fresh bay leaves. Juicy and sweet on the palate, with a menthol-fruity finish and a long aftertaste that is rounded off with notes of medicinal herbs." Luca Gardini
"The Barolo Baudana 2019 is absolutely captivating. Exuberant and bright in the glass, with plenty of freshness and remarkable purity of fruit, the Baudana offers generous dark red fruit, spice, leather, cherry, candy, cedar, tobacco and undergrowth. It has enormous depth and exceptional balance. Rose petals, white pepper and chalk add a special touch to the intense, savoury finish." Vinous

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“I Sodi di San Niccolò" Toscana IGT 2019
This iconic wine, which is rare and very highly rated every year, presents itself in a brilliant, rich ruby colour. The bouquet is full of crisp berry fruit, ripe dark cherries, sweet plums and delicate notes of cinnamon. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, very juicy, develops a finely worked tannin and glides in a wide arc into a powerful, long final. A great wine full of vigour and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby colour with a fine garnet sheen. Impressive nose, very finely characterised, aromas of juicy cherries, blood orange and dried thyme, some liquorice in the background. Polished and precise from the attack to the final, fine-meshed, very well-integrated tannins, flows beautifully, finely elaborated fruit, long final." Falstaff
"The I Sodi di San Niccolò 2019 is another great wine from Castellare. At this stage, the 2019 is still a child. The purity of the fruit is convincing. Despite its considerable intensity, the 2019 seems to have less tannins than in many other years, which should allow it to drink well with minimal cellaring. Blood orange, sweet spices, leather and cedar linger on the stylish finish." Vinous
"This is a long-famous blend of 85% Sangioveto (another name for Sangiovese) and 15% Malvasia Nera from one of the leading wineries of Castellina in Chianti. The Castellare di Castellina 2019 I Sodi di S. Niccolò opens with a soft texture and medium weight with dark aromas of blackcurrant and cherry. These flavours reveal an earthy and spicy side that continues on the palate. The wine finishes with sweet tannins and this vintage has a solid structure overall." Wine Advocate
"An intense, vibrant red with hauntingaromas of violet, black cherry, blackberry, wild rosemary, eucalyptus and iron. Supple and open, but with a solid structure underneath. The precise balance of this wine makes it approachable now, but it will be even better in two to three years. Spicy aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Complex and deeply embedded flavours of ripe blackberries, spices and aromatic bark. Full-bodied and very firm for now, with impressive concentration of fruit and tannin. Very long, balanced finish. A great wine for now, but a wine for the cellar. Patience will be rewarded. Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera. This has always been a top Tuscan red wine. Best from 2027." James Suckling
"Super fragrant nose, patchouli, potpourri, Turkish delight, rose with caramelised red berries and a hint of smoke and incense - all very present and expressive. You could smell the nose alone for hours, it is so complex and beguiling. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, broad and muscular, sinewy with depth and determination. The tannins are well integrated, supporting the fruit and acidity and driving the flavours forward despite the obvious weight and grip. The red berry flavours continue on the palate with hints of stone, graphite and matches. Rich and big on the mid-palate, it becomes more focused towards the finish. Definitely well made and full of life. The acidity is great, cool, clean, smooth and packed with flavour. It's almost too much, because this wine is big and needs time, but it has great appeal and is fresh throughout." Decanter
"A blend of Sangioveto and Malvasia Nera, which has always been a wine totem for Tuscan production. Blackberry jam and Mediterranean scrub on the nose, a hint of eucalyptus, dense and flavourful on the palate, very persistent on the finish, with a balsamic hint." Luca Gardini

“Habemus Etichetta Bianca” Rosso Lazio IGT 2021
The classic Habemus with its white label is probably the most famous wine of the exceptional Roman winemaker Emanuele Pangrazi. This may not only be due to its extreme quality, but also to the relatively large production of 9,000 bottles per vintage for the boutique winery, which should ensure a certain distribution at least in international connoisseur circles. Habemus is one of the 100 best wines in Italy every year and, with its style inspired by the great wines of the Rhone, at least casts a small but very bright light on the wine region of Lazio, which is otherwise not particularly conspicuous in terms of exceptional wines.
Intense, almost impenetrable ruby red. In the expansive bouquet aromas of black cherries, blackberries, spices, smoke, tobacco, lavender and crushed stones. The palate is full-bodied and complex with remarkable concentration and depth. Habemus is beautifully balanced with a velvety texture and a wonderful sense of freshness that lasts until the long, expansive finish full of dark fruits and lavender notes. SUPERIORE.DE

Limitation of 6 articles per customer“Castello di Bolgheri” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020
Deep, dark ruby red in colour, with a rich fruit concentrate of cherry, elderberries, wild berries and a pinch of pepper on the nose. Wonderful harmony of supple tannins and fine acidity on the palate, with subtle notes of maraschino cherry and spices. Fine toasted flavours on the long, very elegant finish. One of the most complex and underrated top wines in the region to date. SUPERIORE.DE
"For me, this is still a totally underrated wine that is an attractive alternative to the superstars for the price-conscious. Elegant, mineral-influenced bouquet with fine Cabernet spice, cassis, red plums and dark red fruits, also mineral-earthy notes. Lots of freshness with a fine reduction. Elegant and finely woven on the medium-bodied palate, a real ballerina, precise tannins that lay beautifully over the tightly woven body, very powerful with lots of freshness in the mid-palate and final. Super animating." Weinwisser
"Notes of roasted spices, dark cedar, cocoa and bark with a mix of red and blue fruits in the background. Full, compact and slightly chewy with firm, vertical tannins. Spicy, ripe and intense, but well integrated and balanced with tension and persistence. Needs some more time in the bottle." James Suckling
"An intense nose of cassis with floral hints and black olives is enhanced by balsamic depth. There's sucrosity on the chewy, lively and youthful palate. The tannins seems to be grainy, extracted, still to condense but ripe, with crisp balancing acidity. The sweetness of the fruit, a bit confected, is balanced by a kind of bitter finish." Decanter
"This red wine starts with abundant ferrous and spicy aromas and flavours of eucalyptus, wild rosemary and mineral notes framing the core of pure blackcurrant and blackberry. Taut and firmly built, with a beautiful length. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot." Wine Spectator
"The nose is reminiscent of a sun-soaked seafaring adventure, with savoury notes of dried meat from the hold, leather belts and boots mingling with a rich fruitiness and the salty sea air. The rich, fruity, chocolaty palate eventually turns savoury, and that savouriness dances with searing acidity to extend the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The Castello di Bolgheri 2020 Bolgheri Superiore shows hints of spicy green with peppercorns, bay leaf, baked plums and blackberry jam. The oak adds sweetness with cinnamon and nutmeg, over a very generous mouthfeel with thick, chalky tannins that need a few more years of bottle age. This wine is more intense on the palate than on the nose. The effect is almost brawny or combative, making this wine an ideal companion for hearty winter dishes." Wine Advocate
"Very solid Bolgheri Superiore, from the Castello, the work in "reduction" and ageing in large barrels, gives a glimpse into the future. Cabernet Sauvignon, elegance on the nose, blueberry, laurel and rhubarb, with mentholated notes. Salty and fruity, great length." Luca Gardini

“Turriga” Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2019
In 1991, Turriga was one of the first bottled wines ever to be exported from the island. Turriga has a 100% Sardinian soul - the famous blend of four red autochthonous grape varieties was once created by the famous OenologistGiacomo Tachis and is continued today by his "heir" Mariano Murru, technical director and Oenologist at Argiolas. The DNA of this exceptional wine sounds as simple as it is perfect: its sophisticated blend of grape varieties gives it its unique structure, roundness, fullness, fruit and a perfectly balanced portion of tannins.
Mariano goes into raptures and describes his top wine as follows: "It has a deep ruby red colour and an enveloping taste of almost spherical softness, with tannins of great finesse that support and accompany the drink. The lively fruit is supported by a balanced acidity and spiciness that refreshes the palate and prolongs an indescribable finish of rare elegance."
Bravo, Mariano! We have loved the elegant bouquet of plums, the opulent dark fruit, the finely balanced vanilla note and the subtle hint of tobacco for decades. Excellently structured and long-lasting on the finish. A masterpiece every year! SUPERIORE.DE
"A beautifully curated and polished young red wine with black berries, violets and bark. Full and velvety with creamy textured tannins and a flavourful finish. Juicy." James Suckling
"An incredible wine, one of the highest creations of Sardinian oenology. Blueberries on the nose, a hint of bay leaves, nutmeg on the finish. It is also savoury on the palate, with salty tannins, beautiful juiciness and persistent drinkability." Luca Gardini

Limitation of 12 articles per customer“Grattamacco” Rosso Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020 (BIO)
Bright, rich ruby red colour. Fine, elegant bouquet with fruity aromas, notes of coffee and complex spice flavours. The flavour is long-lasting, the acidity in perfect balance with the tannins and body. A wine with great tension and personality, suitable for long ageing, but also a delight in its youth. SUPERIORE.DE
"Wonderfully multi-layered, rather cool bouquet with the mineral notes that are often perceived here, reminiscent of iron, very distinguished, noble fruit with à point ripe wild berry flavours, noble cherries, cassis and cranberries. Fine and elegant on the palate, very precisely contoured, super elaborate tannins that cling almost perfectly to the body like a tailor-made dress, linear with a fine-radiant acid freshness that penetrates the palate. This is mega! This puts Grattamacco right up there with the region's superstars and secures it a permanent place on the podium." Weinwisser
"Elegant and straightforward in profile, this red wine offers aromas and flavours of cherries, blackcurrants, minerals, earth and Mediterranean scrub. There's fine tension and freshness, with a long, resonant aftertaste. Needs time." Wine Spectator
"Timeless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese: Plump bouquet of blueberry jam and leather; juicy on the palate, the acidity and crumbly tannins in harmony, soft and supple and yet with substance the fruity-balsamic finish, also mineral nuances. A classic that also impresses in this vintage." Vinum
"Aromatic nose of blackcurrants, berries and cherries, along with a hint of flowers and gentle oak. Full-bodied with a very pure and intense fruit that runs through the slightly firm tannins and gives a long, only slightly rubbing finish. From organically grown grapes. An elegant, well-structured blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Drinkable now, but better from 2024." James Suckling
"Restrained cassis and Mediterranean herb scents are allied to fresher red fruits and a floral touch. It's very well composed, demonstrating an elegant and juicy style with great integration of oak and youthful, chewy fruit. A Bolgheri to wait for – this is intended for the long haul." Decanter
"The 2020 tastes balanced and long with even more tannin structure to hold it firmly together. This is an iconic blend." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Grattamacco is an outstanding wine, dark, lively and nuanced to the core. Black fruits, lavender, spices, leather, menthol and dried herbs give the 2020 plenty of character and complexity. The 2020 is deep, but also wonderfully translucent and one of the finest Grattamaccos I can remember tasting. It has incredible depth and resonance, not to mention a lot of personality." Vinous
"One of the highlights of Bolgheri, from a now mythological vineyard. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Blackberries on the nose, menthol, pink pepper and citrus notes on the finish. Taut on the palate with tannins that are balanced by a fresh, savoury component. Fruity finish, depth." Luca Gardini

“Vigna Au” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2019
From deep moraine soil with a high salt and lime content, Vigna Au first opens with flint and walnut and then beguiles with a complex bouquet of yellow, exotic fruits. Intense, juicy, with just the right amount of acidity, it has a maturation potential of at least 15 years. Just 2,000 bottles of this exceptional Chardonnay are bottled each year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Firm, dense and quite deep, still youthful aroma with noble citrus and pome fruit flavours, light, delicate tobacco and nutty wood notes and floral nuances. Also very noble, polished, firm and concentrated fruit on the palate, very fine, lively acidity, herbal-vegetable notes, delicate almond tones and floral traces, a little light tobacco and smoke in the background, has power but also elegance, deep and multi-layered, a hint of vanilla in the background, herbal nuances, chalky-salty minerality, still very young, very good to long, polished, dense finish." Wein-Plus
"Sparkling straw yellow with light green nuances. Finely characterised nose with notes of pineapple, banana and some flint. Shows very good tension on the palate, fresh, crisp fruit, present but very well-integrated acidity, lingers for a long time." Falstaff
"The 2019 Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Au displays a rich golden colour and offers thick-skinned peach or nectarine with toasted macadamia nut. This wine has a medium-bodied texture that flows smoothly across the palate with bitter almond skin and a lovely flinty note. It is aged for a year in small barrels and only 2,500 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"The wine is initially restrained, but eventually opens up and presents aromas of fresh red and green apples, lemon zest and a hint of oak. On the palate, it is rich but well balanced and fresh with flavours of quince and pear. This refined wine will reward you with a few years in the cellar." Wine Enthusiast

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“San Leonardo” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018
San Leonardo is the flagship of the winery of the same name and one of the best red wines in Trentino every year. Opulent bouquet with nuances of dark fruit such as blackberry and sour cherry. Delicate spice, leather and tobacco notes give it a terrific complexity, which is then extended on the palate by a harmonious interplay of dark berries and plums, all flanked by clearly contoured tannins. A masterful red with a strong personality that will reach its true greatness after a few more years of bottle ageing and live up to its reputation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, impenetrable ruby red colour. Cool nose of blackcurrant with a hint of red pepper. On the palate, juicy blackcurrant with the softest tannins, as if everything had been handled with kid gloves." Jancis Robinson
"A graceful red wine that begins quietly with a pure note of ripe blackcurrant and slowly expands on the palate to interweave flavours of bay leaf and smoked tobacco, bitter cherry, minerals, graphite and cigar box spice. The fine-meshed spectrum of flavours reveals supple tannins that define the elegant finish." Wine Spectator
"A mentholated freshness introduces the 2018 San Leonardo as it slowly blossoms in the glass. Swirling the glass, a depth of dusty sage and violet unfolds, fading into white pepper and blackcurrant. This wine is elegant, full-bodied and powerful. Sour citrus fruits highlight ripe wild berries and savoury spices. The 2018 leaves nothing out and finishes long and lightly structured, with a framework of fine tannins that gently tug at the senses as blackberry and rose notes slowly fade away. The 2018 is an understated and youthful beauty that should be left in the cellar for a few more years. That means hands off, because the best is yet to come." Vinous
"The latest edition of this outstanding northern Italian red wine offers complex aromas of tobacco, spice, earth and rich, wood-soaked black berries. In the mouth, it combines intense concentration with freshness in a vertical sense of balance and savouriness. Dark, plummy, spicy hedgerow berries are perfectly balanced by bright, savoury acidity and ripe, grainy tannins, with spicy cedar, dried currants and a hint of balsamic depth. It still has so much to offer." Decanter
"The 2018 San Leonardo from a cool vintage is incredibly fine and beautiful, with a filigree of flavours reminiscent of wild blackberries, tobacco, pressed rosemary, cherry tart and orange marmalade. The elegance of the wine is exceptional, the mouthfeel very fine and precise. This classic vintage will certainly appeal to San Leonardo purists. I recommend giving it a long maturation period." Wine Advocate
"Perhaps the only Bordeaux from Trentino capable of evolving to emerge with personality even today, in a vintage of grace. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Merlot. Jammy cherries, undergrowth, juniper and rhubarb, dense and savoury, crisp and compact mouthfeel, wonderfully persistent finish." Luca Gardini

“Vigna Gittori” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
The grapes for this remarkably Burgundian Gran Selezione come from the single vineyard of the same name in a 2.25-hectare Chianti Classico vineyard, which was planted in 1971 with a density of 3,400 vines per hectare and is south-facing on old terraces. Riecine has leased these plots since the 1980s, and in the 2019 debut vintage, the winery succeeded in acquiring this site, which is one of the best terroirs in the Chianti Classico region. The bottles are numbered and around 4,000 bottles and 50 magnums are bottled each year.
Spicy bouquet, delicate accents of vanilla and toasted bread, which combine with notes of cherry, strawberry and violet. Rich on the palate, with a solid structure and a long, polished final characterised by fruit, Mediterranean grass and a mineral note. Wonderful ageing potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant, lively ruby red colour. On the nose, initially candle wax, then ripe cherries and forest fruits, reminiscent of ripe watermelon, with a second aftertaste of dark spices, some sealing wax and leather. Compact and tightly woven on the palate, polished on the tongue, very juicy and deep, with a clear fruit final." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020 Vigna Gittori from the vineyards of Gaiole is aromatic, racy and very expressive. Crushed flowers, blood orange, white pepper and mint lend this medium-bodied, silky Gran Selezione a remarkable aromatic presence. The polished tannins round off the whole thing in style." Vinous
"Presented in a handsome, redesigned bottle with a black wax capsule, the Riecine 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Gittori takes a different approach to the hot vintage. It offers flavours that feel anything but overripe and in fact evoke cooler elements of wild berries, peat moss, perfumed violets, flint, campfire ash and crushed white pepper. With this more restrained ripeness comes more spice and texture from oak ageing. This wine shows a beautiful elegance." Wine Advocate
"Such purity and beauty with aromas and flavours of roses, peaches, citrus and cherries. Medium-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Crisp and refined. It lasts for minutes. So drinkable and beautiful now, but it will improve." James Suckling

Barbaresco “Currá" DOCG 2019
Currá is an archaic long-distance runner and presents itself very aristocratic when young with increasing bottle maturity or also good aeration. Then it reveals dark berries and a fine chocolate note in the bouquet. In its style, it is edgy at first, but then at no point denies its greatness and harmony. Tobacco, plums, smoke and tobacco: with every glass, this exceptional wine reveals new facets and a firework of impressions. This is Nebbiolo from 65-year-old vines at the highest level! SUPERIORE.DE
"Well-proportioned, this red shows balance between the elegant profile, firm structure and flavors of cherry, plum, menthol and iron. Reveals a core of ripe fruit that's locked in for now, dallying on the long finish." Wine Spectator
"Subtle notes of red cherries with ground spices, dried citrus peel and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with a velvety texture. Lively and juicy on the palate with compact tannins that are firm but ripe and well integrated into the wine. Hints of sour cherry and citrus on the finish. Attractive now, but even better after 2025." James Suckling
"The 2019 Barbaresco Currà is a gorgeous, super-classic, austere wine driven by bright acids and veins of supporting tannin that lend exuberance. It's a wine for readers who appreciate Barbarescos of vibrancy and energy. White pepper, orange peel, sweet red fruit, mint and chalk linger." Vinous
"Sottimano's 2019 Barbaresco Currá, released a year later than the other Barbarescos in this portfolio, ups the intensity, and not just in terms of dark fruit and cassis. The mineral profile of the wine is more pronounced and, in careful moderation, so are the toasted and spicy notes of oak. There are more different elements here, all brought forward with great intensity, ultimately leading to a place of excellent balance and persistence." Wine Advocate

“Siepi” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
"This is one of the 50 wines that have changed Italian wine culture." Gambero Rosso
Siepi 2020 impresses even at a young age with its volume, fruit and richness. It is made from equal parts Merlot and Sangiovese and both grapes bring their best qualities to the blend. The Sangiovese grape shows a distinct personality with localised notes of small berries and spices and also offers a wonderfully fresh acidity. Merlot plays a strong role in the background, adding softness, fullness and richness. Siepi is an intense, powerful wine that has a terrificarc of tension, ranging from its highly attractive extract sweetness to polished tannins in a fresh, savoury finish with an interesting salty note. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Siepi 2020 consists of half Sangiovese and half Merlot. The former is matured in large wooden barrels, the latter in 70% new barriques. On the nose, the Siepi has a very finely honed and clear Sangiovese fruit, with a purist face and excellent depth. In the mouth, too, the Merlot appears to have little aromatic presence. Rather slender and full of finesse on the tongue, the Siepi is clearly defined and very elegantly differentiated." Weinwisser
"Black cherry and blackberry, wrapped in a coat of toasted, resinous oak. Cedar and iron notes give the wine depth on the long finish. It opened up after an hour in the glass and showed its polish, but still needs time to absorb the oak." Wine Spectator
"Dark ruby colour with a drop of violet. On the nose, rich cherry fruit, blackberries, fine chocolate and leather, delicately characterised, exciting. Expressive and radiant on the palate, with compact, dark berry fruit and polished, creamy tannins, without denying its Tuscan roots, grippy and powerful on the finish." Falstaff
"Transparent carmine red colour with a pale rim. Penetrating, ripe aroma, probably due to the Merlot, but without too much sweetness. The palate shows the spice and vibrancy of the Sangiovese. But these two elements already seem to be beautifully combined with a slight hint of tea. Long. Already a really beautiful expression of the fruit of the Tuscan hills. Good balance between freshness and ripeness." Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Siepi is stylish, elegant and highly polished. Dark blue fruits, lavender, new leather, cloves and mocha blend together effortlessly. The 2020 is characterised by a precision that is incredibly inviting. Nevertheless, the 2020 is still very young and does not fully express its potential. It simply needs time to develop, but all the elements are there." Vinous
"The nose balances dense, fiery aromas of grilled meat, pepper and gunpowder with lighter, friendlier notes of cherries and wild berries. The berries take a leading role on the palate, but the spicy smokiness lingers as an assertive undertone, leading into a hot finish. Tannins have grit without being rustic, emphasizing a saliva-inducing savoriness throughout." Wine Enthusiast
"Dried herbs and sweet spices on the nose, forest notes with blackberry fruit, concentrated and expressive. On the palate, the tannins glide gently over the tongue and give the sweet strawberry, raspberry and plum fruit time to develop in the mouth, while the acidity provides a pleasant mouthfeel. This wine is very lively and vibrant - it shouts loudly for its energy. It feels extremely good, with clear definition, finesse and balance. Such a gorgeous fruit profile, the high-toned strawberry and cherry, bright and penetrating, but also round and generous with tobacco and wood nuances. The fine but present tannins are very present and give grip. All in all, an exceptionally beautiful wine. I love it. It offers immediate and youthful pleasure, but it will continue to age well." Decanter
"Graphite and pencil come through, along with violets and blackberries. Also some tar and tarmac. Full-bodied, but creamy and crisp, with an agile liveliness that lasts for minutes. Fabulous length. Drinkable now, but it will continue to mature for decades." James Suckling

“Asinone” Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
Its dense, intense colour has a lush bouquet, whose fruity hints of blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm flavour, the smooth tannin is well fused with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Noble nose of sugared cherries, ripe strawberries, a hint of cinnamon stick, dried oranges, light spice. Great texture and lovely freshness on the palate, beautifully emphasised fruit, expressive, juicy, shows great length and complexity, will age for many years." Falstaff
"Intriguing bouquet of ripe cherries, dried flowers, herbs and subtle spices; precise on the palate, the acid accents in harmony with the excellently polished tannins, the final finely chiselled and persistent with lots of fruit, including balsamic notes. A seducer with a lot of noblesse." Vinum
"The 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone captures the attention with a mentholated blend of crushed blackberries, cedar shavings and cocoa. The palate is soft and supple, with ripe wild berries and a gentle layer of sweet tannins that builds towards the end. The 2020 leaves a primary concentration on the palate and a long finish. This Asinone from a warm vintage is the perfect choice to wait for the more structured vintages to mature." Vinous
"An exciting and mineral expression with fine spices and pure red berries. The palate is transparent and restrained, with fine tannins that linger with minerals and berries in a long, intense finish." James Suckling
"A powerful, straightforward red wine with plenty of blackberry, black cherry and blackcurrant flavours to balance the dense tannins. Lively, energetic and balanced, with a long, rich finish that reflects the dark fruits and adds a hint of tobacco." Wine Spectator
"From the vineyard of the same name, a wine with an international orientation, but without blinkers, on the contrary, with great personality. Dense nose of undergrowth fruits, blackberries in the leading role, in the mouth it shines with its balance, salty tannins, great juiciness and a balsamic finish with excellent persistence." Luca Gardini
