Push the boundaries! "Comets light up, move around and burn up. Some last for years, others only a few moments. They leave an impression and can point out a certain direction that guides us in our everyday work. The joy of experimenting, innovation and the play with components are in the foreground with comets. Each of our comets is unique, like a fingerprint. The labels on each bottle are individually designed: A comet's tail, painted on with your finger." Clemens Lageder

Tannat thrives excellently under warm temperatures and retains a lively acidity. Already planted 30 years ago by Alois Lageder, it is still a mystery, experiment and challenge for the winery. In the 2018 vintage, the grapes were harvested extremely early, to emphasize the lightness and freshness of the grape variety. SUPERIORE.DE

“Valmaggiore Sibi et Paucis” Nebbiolo d’Alba Riserva DOC 2014 · 3 Bottles in OWC

For some years now, Luciano has been keeping a small quantity of his Nebbiolo Valmaggiore and has been allowing it to mature in his cellar further on the bottle. The result is a result under the name "Sibi et Paucis", which impressively underlines the cult status of his "little Barolo".

Ruby red and with a phenomenal fragrance - balsamic and earthy, but also finely fruity. The disciplined taste with the wonderfully balanced, velvety tannins merges into a long finish and is accompanied by fine fruit and mint aromas. Wonderful elegance with even more ageing potential. “Vecchie Viti del Salco” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 (BIO) · 3 Flaschen in Gift Box

Just 3,500 bottles from the yield of the oldest vines of the Salco vineyard are sold with beautiful labels in a fancy 3-bottle box. In the glass, we are delighted by an extremely elegant Sangiovese with a very harmonious texture and very classic, earthy-spicy notes. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark luminous, elegant and deep ruby red. Spicy-meaty nose at first, opens on classy rosemary notes, dried tomato, then lovely cherry. Punchy on the palate with tightly woven tannin, tense, salty mineral on the back end, great length." Falstaff

"From Salcheto's 2-hectare Salco vineyard, the Vecchie Viti is a selection of the oldest vines, which are upwards of 30 years old. After ageing in a combination of large cask and small tonneaux, this spends an additional 2 years in bottle before release. Yet it is still very nascent in expression. Smoke and mint emerge slowly weaving through wild berries. There is an irony undertow on the palate which is dense, ripe, concentrated and securely fastened by firm tannins. This is sinewy in its muscle and above all sophisticated." Decanter

"The Salcheto 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vecchie Viti del Salco (made from organic fruit) occupies that special place between primary and tertiary intensity. The bouquet reveals plum and dried cherry aromas, but it also shows oxidative aromas of tar, spice and a touch of dried fruit or apple skin. This open-knit wine is drinking nicely right now. Made from old vines, this is an accessible wine of personality." Robert Parker

"New leather, forest-berry and rose aromas shape the enticing nose on this radiant red along with a balsamic whiff of camphor. The firm, elegantly structured palate features ripe Marasca cherry, black raspberry, licorice and crushed mint framed in tightly wound, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. It's linear and still youthfully austere, with great aging potential. Drink 2023–2036." Wine Enthusiast

“Vigna dell’Impero 1935” Rosso Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2015 · 3 Bottles in OWC

The Sangiovese grapes of this wine come from the vineyard of the Empire of His Royal Highness the Count of Turin, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, who planted it in 1935. The soil is a mixture of clay and gravel, rich in marl and rock, which gives the grapes a spectacular minerality. The variations in temperature during the day play a decisive role in developing the finest aromas, which are elegant and complex. The wine, bottled in numbered bottles, is not filtered in order to preserve all the typical varietal notes and characteristics of Sangiovese. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, intense garnet red. Very open and accessible nose, old-style in the best sense, of rhubarb, pomegranate, sour cherry and cherry stones. Relaxed and supple at the base, it opens with a grippy, fine-grained tannin, salty and very long, ripe fruit in the aftertaste". (Place 11 / 100 "Best 100 under 100€) Falstaff

"The 2015 Valdarno di Sopra Vigna dell'Impero offers aromas of candied cherry, blackberry, spice and leather. The finish is on the soft side, and I am assigning a slightly shorter drinking window for this warm vintage as a result. The fruit is concentrated and rich, thanks to the heat of the growing season." Robert Parker

"A tight and focused red with cherry, earth and orange peel. Roses, too. Full body yet very reserved with ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish. Linear and beautiful. Old vine sangiovese. Shows outstanding potential. " James Suckling

    • "Campo di Magnacosta" Cabernet Franc Toscana IGT 2018
3 Bottles in OWC

“Campo di Magnacosta” Cabernet Franc Toscana IGT 2018 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Just 2,100 bottles of this 1.5 ha single vineyard Cabernet Franc "Campo di Magnacosta" (a former riverbed with mainly clay, gravel and crushed stone soil) reach the specialised trade and the menus of the best restaurants worldwide. The vines were planted in the mid-1990s and come from Pomerol. In terms of aromatic intensity, Magnacosta is probably the most sensually elegant representative of the house's three great site cabernets. It has great straightness, but somewhat less power and intensity. It subtly combines black fruit aromas with spicy notes, tar and antique leather. It is already silky and elegant and will certainly gain in finesse over the years. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich, deep dark ruby. Very compact nose with lots of rich cassis fruit, ripe blackberries, plus some tobacco. Lots of ripe berry fruit on the palate, opens with fine, slightly grippy tannin, earthy notes on the final." Falstaff

"The 2018 Campo di Magnacosta is ample and expressive, with a real sense of textural breadth that distinguishes it in this range. Super-ripe dark cherry, gravel, mint, spice and leather tones give the 2018 striking complexity. Incisive tannins need time to soften. Readers who can wait will be rewarded with a fabulous, deeply expressive wine. The 2018 Campo di Magnacosta is 100% Cabernet Franc from a site on an old river bed." Vinous

"Campo di Magnacosta is the lightest and more feminine Cabernet Franc of Trinoro's cru (Magnacosta, Camagi, Tenaglia) based on this grape variety. It is a 1.5 hectare parcel of river gravel and silt on the valley's bottom, where an old stream ate into a hill (hence the name: magna is eat and costa is hillside). It was planted over 20 years ago with cuttings from a vineyard in Pomerol. Intense and elegant on the nose with an intriguing restrained brumble fruit, dried eucalyptus and spices, it combines great fruit definition and creamy palate with tight-knit tannins and lively acidity in background. Warm on the finish, yet well balanced." Decanter

"This is one of three single-vineyard expressions made by the talented Mr. Franchetti. The Tenuta di Trinoro 2018 Campo di Magnacosta (with only 1,950 bottles released) is powerful and complex. Campo di Magnacosta is also very elegant, showing a slow and careful approach that takes on volume and latitude as the wine opens aromatically. Give it time. Black fruit, Spanish cedar, charred meat, crushed river stone and exotic spice take center stage. The mouthfeel offers a lot of texture and succulence, but the finish is linear and structured. The wine's length ultimately translates into elegance." Robert Parker

    • "Le Caggiole" Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016
3 Bottles in OWC

“Le Caggiole” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 · 3 Bottles in OWC

The first Caggiole was launched in 1988 and disappeared again as early as 1995 because the flagship Asinone simply met consumers' tastes better. Today - after more than 20 years of abstinence - the Nobile Le Caggiole is back on the market as the new first wine of the house.

It is salty, mineral and refined. It represents the terroir and the Sangiovese grape variety (Prugnolo Gentile) like no other wine of the house. It is almost light-footed, svelte, delicate and at the same time very fine. It is the result of many years of work with the selection of the right Sangiovese clones in the single vineyard of the same name, Le Caggiole, which consists of 4 plots.

Estate owner Dott. Federico Carletti has dedicated this masterpiece to his wife Anna - setting a new benchmark for Poliziano and the entire denomination. We are very pleased to present this strictly limited top wine! SUPERIORE.DE

"Made entirely with Sangiovese, this has aromas of mature black-skinned fruit, exotic spice, camphor and whiffs of French oak. Firmly structured but elegant, the linear palate delivers Marasca cherry, red plum, espresso and licorice framed in tightly knit, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps it fresh and balanced." Wine Enthusiast

"The Poliziano 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Le Caggiole opens to a dark and sultry appearance, showing a rich and elegant side of the Sangiovese grape. There is a snappy or tart element to the fruit with sour cherry and black plum; however, the wine does not lack for ripeness. There is depth and rich concentration here, giving this wine a step up when it comes to a possible steak or meat roast dinner. The tannins (both the fruit and the oak tannins) are astringent, so give the wine a few more months of bottle aging." Robert Parker

"Poliziano's 2016 Vino Nobile Le Caggiole is beautifully done. Freshly cut flowers, red berries, mint, cedar and tobacco are all laced together in a pretty, translucent Vino Nobile that is all class. The Caggiole deftly marries power with restraint. There is a lot going on, but the 2016 is not at all an obvious wine. This is a gorgeous and very refined expression of Vino Nobile." Vinous

“Tinata” Toscana IGT 2016 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Black cherry red with a violet rim. In the nose notes of spices like ginger, cinnamon, dried coriander and vanilla bean, rounded off with fruit flavours of pomegranate, cherry and floral nuances like geranium, lavender and rose. Fresh rose sugar and graphite on the palate; plus raspberry, cherry, fresh plum and cranberries. Long in the finish with a fine cassis note. SUPERIORE.DE

"Plenty of fresh, crushed raspberries and currants with hints of wood. Medium to full body. Fine tannins and a clean finish." James Suckling

"Here’s a happy surprise from the Tuscan Coast and definitely one of the most memorable samples I tasted from this region this year. The 2016 Tinata is a beautifully balanced blend of Syrah and Grenache that hits all its proverbial nails on the head. I admire the fullness and generosity of the wine (that is never heavy), its depth and complexity (that is never banal) and its power (that is not overblown). You get the savory fullness of Syrah with black fruit, tobacco, smoke and spice and some of the vertical freshness of the Grenache. The tannins are softly textured to the point of being creamy. It gives me great joy to enthusiastically recommend this exciting wine from Monteverro." Robert Parker

    • "Contrada Sciaranuova Vecchie Vigne" Rosso Etna DOC 2016
3 Flaschen in Original-Holzkiste

“Contrada Sciaranuova Vecchie Vigne” Rosso Etna DOC 2016 · 3 Flaschen in Original-Holzkiste

Tasca got involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are filigree and profound, and despite their power, acidity and taut tannin, very elegant, finesse-rich and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil composition and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.

The Sciaranuova parcel is situated at an average altitude of 730 metres above sea level between the villages of Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of about 4.9 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. Within the Sciaranuova parcel is a small cru site whose vines were planted in 1961. The bottles, produced in very small quantities, are labelled "Vigna Vecchia". Compared to its "younger brother", this rare wine shows increased complexity, depth and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE

"Just mid ruby and already a touch developed. Elegant, beautiful even! Pure, sweet raspberry and cherry notes mingling with earth and minerals. Gorgeous fragrant raspberry and firm tannins that push the fruit on the finish. Still austere and in need of more bottle age." Jancis Robinson

"Moderately saturated ruby-red. Very pure aromas and flavors of blood orange, potpourri, red cherry nectar, minerals and sweet spices. Very light on its feet and extremely suave, with outstanding acid-sugar-tannin balance, this is actually less weighty on the palate than the regular Sciaranuova bottling. The finish is very long and pure." Vinous

"This wine is made from Tascante's oldest vines, planted in 1961. The 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. (the initials stand for Vigna Vecchia or "old vines") is a beautifully polished and glossy expression with a fine and smooth aromatic presentation. It starts off with primary notes of forest berry and cassis and spans all the way over to campfire ash and camphor. That range is as beautiful as it is impressive. The mouthfeel is silky and soft with fine, powdery tannins. Put this delicate wine aside for a few more years. Some 5,000 bottles were produced." Robert Parker

“Taffetà" Colorino Toscana IGT 2011 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Taffetà is one of the richest, most opulent and most interesting wines of Chianti Classico. A pure Colorino - rare and ingenious. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2011 Colorino Taffe Ta', Poggiopiano's 100% Colorino, is a real stunner. Inky blue/purplish fruit, smoke, tar, graphite, licorice and menthol saturate the palate as this dramatic, ripe wine shows off its unmistakable personality. Colorino is most often seen as a blender with Sangiovese in Chianti Classico, rarely on its own. Poggiopiano's version is a real turn-on and one of the most unique, riveting wines being made in Tuscany today. The style is unctuous and opulent, yet all the elements fall into place effortlessly."Antonio Galloni

Very focused and juicy Riserva-quality Cabernet Franc from one of the most profound and beautiful vintages of the new millennium to date. SUPERIORE.DE

    • "Keir" Syrah Toscana IGT 2018
3 Bottles in OWC

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2018 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Here comes the second vintage of Tua Rita's new wine from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, the ageing (on the skins) takes place in amphorae for half a year, then it is filtered and matures in small French oak barrels.

Bright ruby red. In the nose a seductive blend of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a fine liquorice note. Then on the palate cherry again, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acidity and fine-grained tannins lead the precisely composed wine to a furious final. Keir complements the winery's top-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Great! SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling ruby with brightening rim. Very clear and inviting note with notes of raspberry and clove, some Szechuan pepper, also spicy rosemary. Much present fruit, also on the palate a lot of raspberry, pithy tannin, catchy in the final." Falstaff

"The 2018 Keir very much stands out in this set of new releases from Tua Rita. A passion project and something of an intellectual challenge accepted mutually by Stefano Frascolla and Luca D'Attoma, this is Syrah fermented in Tuscan amphorae with six months of skin contact. This vintage is especially delicate and pure, and one important reason for this is the growing season that was extended by 15 days in this 2018 vintage. That extra time allowed the fruit to mature slowly according to its own time table. This is a luxury that is appreciated by Syrah in particular. The wine emerges with delicate, almost fragile aromas of wild rose, wet earth, violets and crushed black pepper. Syrah is very expressive of territory and vintage, and this wine speak of classic Tuscany. It is naked in its purity." Robert Parker

Vin Santo di Montepulciano DOC 2001 · 2 Bottles à 0,375l in OWC

Caramel Vin Santo with intense aromas of toffee and dark chocolate, enriched with acacia honey and Mediterranean herbs. Notes of freesia, candied orange peel and French pastry. On the palate, this fascinating sweet wine reveals a blend of fig, almond and lemon aromas, followed by roasted coffee beans. The perfect balance between acidity and sweetness leads to a sensual finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2001 Vin Santo di Montepulciano (375 milliliters) is a divine and superbly delicious sweet blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia and Grechetto. The results are super concentrated and simmered down to a virtual reduction sauce of deliciousness. There are so many aromas to name, but some of the most evident highlights include candied orange peel, almond marzipan, caramel, toasted coffee bean, vanilla stick, mocha, dark honey and fragrant yellow rose. The mouthfeel is creamy, rich and deeply layered. I'm suggesting a slightly shorter drinking window here compared to the Occhio di Pernice. But, the truth is: I have no idea. I'm pretty sure these wines will outlive anyone of legal drinking age." Robert Parker

"Thick in consistency, with aromas and flavors of dried fig, espresso, macadamia nut and raisin. Intensely sweet, offering lingering accents of leather and cigar. For all the unctuousness, this stays balanced and finishes clean." Wine Spectator

Barolo Brunate DOCG 2009 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Viettis Barolo Brunate is fragrant and clear, intense with roses and raspberries, seductive sweet fruit notes. Also on the palate very clear and straightforward with dense tannin, nice depth and long. SUPERIORE.DE

"From one of the region’s most celebrated vineyards, the 2009 Barolo Brunate lavishes on smoky, granite and mineral notes that make this wine absolutely irresistible. Even the drawing of a snail on the label seems to hammer home one obvious point: This wine is built for longer cellaraging. Its rich texture, velvety feel and firm structure are guaranteesthat it will become increasingly elegant and finessed with time." Robert Parker

“Sopra il Pozzo” Rosso Arcurìa Etna DOC 2015 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Graci's new growth Sopra il Pozzo is a "selection from selection" and comes from the vineyard of Arcurìa. It is the red archetype of an Etna Rosso, a Nerello Cru with the unique DNA of the volcanic-stony terroir. Light ruby with orange reflexes, in the nose candied fruits, cooling firewood, some anise and herbs. On the palate it is silky without being smooth, its subtle wood and delicate acid wire harmonize perfectly with the flanking tannin to an unforgettable, mineral and salty finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Medium-bright, warm red; mature-peppery, arouses curiosity; peppery-maturing, certain fullness, fine astringency." Merum

"Bright garnet red with a fine shimmer. Emphasizes fragrant nose, of rhubarb, pomegranate and raspberry. Bright on the palate, it shows a lot of present fruit, especially pomegranate and raspberry, then opens up with dense, pithy tannin, firm pressure and long final, in the final accentuated salty notes". Falstaff

"Pale ruby-garnet. Ripe, scented maraschino cherry, with hazelnut and subtle smoky complexity. Sweet-savoury, flinty cherry palate fruit, with sandy, firm tannic structure and quite bright acidity. Long, smoky-spicy finish. Power over elegance." Jancis Robinson

"This was the first vintage of an outstanding parcel within Arcuria that henceforth is bottled separately. For all the excellence of the regular 2015, this is different, with richer raspberry aromas and greater aromatic weight. It's very elegant and silky, highly concentrated with fine acidity. It's more skeletal now than the regular wine: taut, lingering and very long." Decanter

"This is a new wine from Alberto Graci with fruit sourced from the part of his vineyard holding located "above the well" in the Contrada Arcuria not too far from the Graci winery. The beautiful 2015 Etna Rosso Arcurìa Sopra il Pozzo pours from the bottle with medium intensity and mild ruby intensity. You might mistake this wine for a Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo if you were to judge by appearance alone. However, the bouquet shows that strong volcanic character that is unmistakable in the red wines from Etna; wild berries, blue flowers, red currant, licorice, mountain herbs and crushed stone all play leading roles on the bouquet." Occhio di Pernice means eye of the partridge and refers to the salmon red colour of this lightly pressed Vin Santo from the red grape variety Prugnolo Gentile. Dense and dark after 10 years of barrel aging, rich with aromas of dates, dried plums and fruitcake. Sweet aroma with sensual flavors of lemon, salted caramel with warm French pastry. • "Monteverro" Toscana IGT 2016
3 Bottles in OWC

“Monteverro” Toscana IGT 2016 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Monteverro - a classic French blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot - brims with opulence and variety. Rich, dark ruby with a black core. Incredibly rich in dark fruit, chocolate and spice flavors, soft, full body, polished tannins. With the joy of the magnificence of this wine, it is impossible to exaggerate. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich, deep dark ruby purple. Opens with lush notes of blueberries and blackberries, lots of clear fruit, subtle resinous tones in the background. Lush berry fruit on the attack, then opens with a mantle of fine-mesh tannin, supple, lots of pressure on the final, sweet melting." Falstaff

"Monteverro always delivers excellent results, and this is more true than ever in this balanced and classic vintage. Although the 2016 Monteverro is never a terribly territory-driven wine (it's hard to place it from Capalbio, Tuscany, per se), it is a beautifully executed rendition based on a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The bouquet is rich and multidimensional with dark fruit, plum cake, sweet tobacco and sweet baking spice. It is tight and well-assembled, with lasting intensity, yet its power is ultimately reined in by an elegant personality." Robert Parker

"This is another incredible edition of this wine. The fruit pops straight out with pure blackberries, blackcurrants and blueberries. Then, if that wasn’t enough, the nose reveals dark herbs, citrus, iodine, crushed stones and pressed violets. The quality of the tannins blows you away, as they take you on a journey through layers of dark fruit, supported by cutting acidity and savory undertones. Very long on the refined yet chewy finish." Brunello di Montalcino “Le Lucére” Riserva DOCG 2012 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Grandioser Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Le Lucere with countless, finely layered aromas such as rose petals, red cherries, flowers, herbs and spices. There is a nice tension between primary aromas of the fruit and secondary aromas of maturation in large oak wood. Elegant, full-bodied and muscular on the palate, impressive depth and silky tannins, long and intense. Enthused today and with a promising future. SUPERIORE.DE

"Wow. This is really fantastic with outstanding depth of fruit and ripe and silky tannins. So much blueberry and cedar character with hints of flowers. Full body, fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Lovely balance to this wine. Better after 2022 but already exciting to taste." James Suckling

"A broad, mouthfilling style, boasting black cherry, plum, leather, chocolate and spice aromas and flavors. A riper style, yet not soft, with more support from dense tannins than acidity. Finishes with a dusty aftertaste of tobacco and graphite." Wine Spectator

"This wine pours from the bottle with deep, dark intensity. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva le Lucére shows thick extraction and deep concentration of dark fruit, cherry marmalade and blackberry preserves. Black prune and dried fig also play supporting roles, with a strong showing by exotic spice and savory tobacco. This is a Big Brunello with two capital Bs. It ages in small oak barrel for 14 months and then does another 16 months of aging in botte grande. It shows thick textural richness in the mouth." Robert Parker

Rare horizontal in a gift box of 3 - an exclusive and strictly limited selection of the Crus "Vigna L'Apparita", "Vigneto La Casuccia" and "Vigneto Bellavista" of the vintage 2011.

      1 bottle à 0,75l | "Vigna L'Apparita" Merlot Toscana IGT 2011 in gift box

Elegant Merlot from high vineyards, whose further development in the bottle fascinates again and again. Very inviting bouquet, ripe berry notes, elderberry and coffee. On the palate extremely fine and structured, dense, polished tannins, finishes very long and calm. SUPERIORE.DE

"Compared to 2010, the 2011 L'Apparita (100% Merlot) is a very different wine. It's impossible to imagine how Castello di Ama could improve on the utterly divine and delicious 2010, but I liked 2011 even more. Again, I just feel that this estate with its vineyards that reach beyond 500 meters in altitude performs best with warm vintages such as this one. Those who love Castello di Ama's wines will have to wait until the 2013 vintage is released. This is a gorgeous wine that sings in a loud and graceful voice. That extra cherry softness of Merlot has been pulled back to a perfect point. The wine offers layers of richness and suppleness. The effects are layered, complex and absolutely engaging. This is a standout wine." Robert Parker

"A deep and beautiful red with ripe berry, plum and orange peel character. Almost exotic in style. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a caressing texture. Goes on for minutes. So beautiful now but will be event better in 2018. Greatest L'Apparita ever?" James Suckling

1 bottle à 0,75l | "Vigneto La Casuccia" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2011 in gift box

Chianti Classico La Casuccia from a single vineyard of the same name with Gran-Selezione status combines in its typical way exemplary excellent structure with highest elegance. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto La Casuccia is opulent and voluptuous with thick lines of dark fruit and spice that characterize the bouquet. More than heft and power, this wine delivers excellent complexity with layers of black truffle, grilled herb and cherry cola that add vertical lift." Robert Parker

"A wine of pure femininity and grace, the 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto La Casuccia is wonderfully fleshy and radiant in the glass. Rose petal, sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint and spices meld together as this effortless, supple wine shows off its undeniably appealing personality. Sweet, silky tannins wrap around a super-expressive finish laced with knock-out aromatics. The 2011 is firing on all cylinders today." Antonio Galloni

"Amazing aromas of crushed dark fruits with raspberry, blueberry and blackberry. Dried flowers and violets too, plus tanned leather. Full body, ultra-fine yet dense tannins and a finish that lasts for minutes. Stunning texture. One of the greatest Chianti Classicos ever made." James Suckling

1 bottle à 0,75l | "Vigneto Bellavista" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2011 in gift box

The 2011 edition of the Gran Selezione from the Bellavista vineyard is rich and dark with aromas of wild cherry, smoke, liquorice, menthol and tobacco. Extremely attractive and full-bodied on the palate, firm tannins form the backbone of this virile, potent wine. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista opens to dark concentration, bold intensity and an immediate delivery of ripe fruit flavors. Stylistically speaking, this single-vineyard Grand Selezione is extracted, muscular and extremely fruit forward. The heat of the 2011 vintage comes through loud and clear. Happily, the mouthfeel is tighter and more focused with dusty minerality on the tannins and long persistency." Robert Parker

"Ama's 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista shows the darker, more brooding style of Sangiovese at Ama. Graphite, smoke, tar, licorice, incense and cloves wrap around a core of dark fruit. A wine of gravitas and vertical structure, the 2011 will reward several decades of cellaring. This is an unusually stern wine for the vintage though. Readers will have to be patient to experience the Bellavista at its best. Still, I can't help notice how much the 2011 has grown in bottle over the last year." Antonio Galloni

    • "Marianova" Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2016
3 Bottles in OWC

“Marianova” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2016 · 3 Bottles in OWC

This is the second vintage of the currently only Bolgheri Superiore, which is produced apart from the classic French Bordeaux grape varieties. It consists of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Syrah. Two grape varieties that the Sattas have studied for several decades and whose quality has convinced us and the international critics for many years. Marianova combines great aromatic breadth with a gigantic drinking pleasure and at the same time underlines the great individuality of the winery like no other wine.

Bright ruby red. In the nose a potpourri of spicy notes: spicy the Syrah and crisp the Sangiovese. Small red ripe berries and some blackberry essence mix with moist soil, smoke, tree bark and tar. This exceptional wine is carried by a bouquet of dark fruits and a fresh acidity, its impressive finish is infinitely long and powerful. SUPERIORE.DE

"3250 bottles are pressed by this Sangiovese and Syrah selection in its second vintage: an enchanting bouquet of cherries and spices; a smooth course with very well integrated powerful tannins and invigorating acidity, shows elegance until the final. Vinum

"Brilliant ruby violet with a slightly bright edge. A lot of present fruit, like mulberries and blueberries, in addition dark cherries, some spicy macchia smoke. A dense tannin with a sweet core, develops for a long time with a lot of pressure, tobacco in the final." Falstaff

"Marianova is the first Bolgheri Superiore to be made without any Bordeaux varietals. Instead it's a 50/50 blend of Syrah and Sangiovese, the idea of Michele Satta’s son Giacomo, first produced in 2015. Ruby red and restrained, it's focussed on vibrant raspberry and cherry aromas layered with indian spice notes and a touch of leathery character. It shows a firm yet ripe tannic structure with chewy acidity and a great savoury finish of toasted notes and prunes." Decanter

"Aromas of currants, crushed berries and walnuts, as well as chocolate. Full body, juicy tannins and beautiful fruit at the end. Big wine that needs time to soften. A blend of sangiovese and syrah." James Suckling

"On first nose, the 2016 Bolgheri Superiore Marianova (equal parts Syrah and Sangiovese) shows savory and barbecue-like aromas with teriyaki sauce and hickory smoke followed by plummy fruit and blackberry preserves. There is a note of sweetness with lots of spice, leather and tobacco at the edges. Of Michele Satta's releases, this wine is the most unlike him in that it is the most contemporary and enriched. This is the second vintage of Marianova (the winery’s latest creation) to be released." Robert Parker

    • "Per Sempre" Syrah Toscana IGT 2018
3 Bottles in OWC

“Per Sempre” Syrah Toscana IGT 2018 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Deep dark, almost impenetrable red. In the nose a whole range of ripe wild berries, finely underpinned by nuances of tobacco, leather and lavender. Also on the palate with lots of fruit, powerful, but still silky and elegant. In the endlessly long final traces of dark chocolate. SUPERIORE.DE

"Powerful, brilliant ruby violet. Opened with notes of beeswax, black pepper and lots of elderberry, very clear. Still a bit tentative at first, but blooms magnificently as the wine ages, lots of blueberry and blackberry, firm pressure in the final." Falstaff

"Aromas of blue fruit, white pepper, dried flowers and stone. It’s full-bodied and grows on the palate, showing blue fruit, black tea leaves and chocolate. Bitter orange at the end. This is a baby. Solid and tight. Needs two or three years to come together." James Suckling

"This is a true Syrah-lover's wine. The wine shows the dark exuberance of a Californian Syrah or a Shiraz from Australia with the fragile elegance of a Côte-Rôtie. But when you really get down to it, the Tua Rita 2018 Syrah Per Sempre is all-Italian in heart and soul, forever, as its name implies. That's what makes it so exciting and interesting to try if you are otherwise smitten by this grape variety as I am. Stefano Frascolla tells me that of the various varieties he cultivates, Syrah is the most reactive to place and vintage. It is almost fragile in its demeanor compared to the more sturdy and sure-footed Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Syrah is a bit more finicky as well. It appreciates a long growing season, and that's exactly what it got in 2018. The grapes had ample time to ripen slowly, thus developing finesse and complexity along the way. This edition of Per Sempre offers deep intensity with dark fruits, plum and plenty of savory spice both from the oak aging and the grape itself (planted in a mix of clay and schist soils). In the mouth, the wine is softly textured, graceful and detailed. Robert Parker
