“Mandriolo” Rosso Maremma Toscana DOC 2022
Even with the entry-level wine, Morisfarms does not deviate a bit from its usual quality standard, which has delighted us with its consistency for over 15 years now. Freshness and relaxed drinkability are the strengths of the Rosso Maremma with its earthy fruit bouquet of cherry and plum and its spicy notes in the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Mandriolo is a gorgeous, entry-level offering. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice, mint and sweet pipe tobacco are pushed forward. This tasty Maremma red is sure to be a crowd-pleaser." Vinous

“Melacce” Vermentino Montecucco DOC 2022 (BIO)
Classic Vermentino from Montecucco: Intensely floral, fruit-driven bouquet with clear notes of hawthorn, green apple, grapefruit and white peach. Fresh and juicy on the palate, the elegant acidity spans a beautiful fan, then salty notes in the well-proportioned final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet apples, pears, white flowers and hints of candied lime create an inviting bouquet as the 2020 Vermentino Melacce Montecucco blossoms in the glass. It is soft, round and soothing, with white stone fruits and minerals under a touch of pretty inner flowers. It finishes fresh and honeyed, with a touch of salty minerals that create wonderful contrasts." Vinous
"Bright straw yellow with silver. In the nose currently reductive, very young, some citrus fruit. Shows on the palate with a juicy entry and crisp progression, green spicy, prancing, uncomplicated." Falstaff
"This white wine shows intense aromas and flavours of peach, white grapefruit, lemongrass, sage and minerals. It is almost creamy before the acidity and a slight mineral feel finish the impression in a more defined way." Wine Spectator
"This is citrusy and a little grassy with hints of guava, sliced apples and jasmine on offer. Medium-bodied with clean acidity and a sleek, polished texture. Very attractive and fresh." James Suckling

“Poggio Argentato” Bianco Toscana IGT 2022
Poggio Argentato is a beautifully balanced white wine with a French flavour. A multi-layered bouquet with a fine herbal note on the nose. Powerful, fresh and elegant on the palate, with a mineral acidity and citrus flavours on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fresh and grassy with notes of sliced lime. Medium body. Crisp." James Suckling
"The Poggio Argentato 2022 is a very beautiful, aromatic white wine. Pear, ginger, mint, lime and jasmine give it an exotic flair. This blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Traminer and Sémillon is delicious and easy to like. It's so refreshing to taste an original white wine from the Tuscan coast." Vinous
"A field blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Gewürztraminer and Semillon. An intense and juicy white wine with a sweet core of pineapple, peach, citrus and tropical fruit, surrounded by salty and herbal notes and refreshed by a bright acidity. A flavoursome wine that could do with a little ageing." Decanter
"Pale straw yellow with nuances of green. Aromatic nose, redcurrant, tangerine and a hint of sage. Additional lemon and papaya on the palate, juicy, lively acidity, lingering, salty finish." Falstaff
"The nose is reminiscent of a rare herb garden, with lemongrass, oregano, thyme and basil mingling with quieter elements of barely ripe stone fruit. The palate is also characterised by herbs, with a hint of citrus, and more stone fruit emerges on the finish, adding richness and depth." Wine Enthusiast
"The Fattoria le Pupille 2022 Poggio Argentato is the ideal companion to an afternoon spent outdoors. Elisabetta Geppetti says she didn't want to join the popular Vermentino bandwagon and instead opted for this France-inspired blend in order to capture floral tones, drying mineral nuances and crunchy stone fruit from chalky soils. The wine offers all that and a delicate hint of Tahitian flower or plumeria. The vineyards are elevated enough to protect from the heat but also capture the cooling sea breezes. The Sauvignon Blanc adds tropical tones and pyrazines, and the Petit Manseng offers texture and richness." Wine Advocate

Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2022
Light, bright ruby colour. Youthful nose of early ripe cherries and wild strawberries, slightly vegetal, delicately peppery and spicy on the finish. Very precise on the palate, juicy and with young tannins, crisp fruit, great drinkability, even more complete in a few months. A great accompaniment to food. SUPERIORE.DE
"Young journeyman with lots of freshness and fruitiness. Lots of sour cherry and a mineral, salty flavour. Juicy, fresh on the palate, with more sweet cherry and strawberry fruit. Red rosehips with hibiscus flowers come into play here. The tannins are very soft and supple. Refreshing in its style and despite its lively nature, it has length, plenty of fruit and perfectly defined tannins. Tastes like more even when chilled! A really good Morellino." Vinum
"Sparkling, light ruby red colour. Fresh on the nose, with crisp sour cherry and wild berries, plus a hint of rosehip. Lively acidity on the palate, juicy and with good drinking flow, right through to the finish." Falstaff
"The Morellino di Scansano 2022 is fabulous. Aromatic, sensual and inviting, the 2022 is an ideal wine to drink now and over the next few years. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red/purple berry fruit, lavender, rose petal, spice and menthol. All elements are very well balanced. A real charmer." Vinous
"A sweet, juicy nose of vanilla and strawberry draws balance from a light florality, along with slightly astringent undertones of blood orange, hibiscus and blackberry. On the palate, the fruit and flowers are lively and fresh, alongside harmonious tannins and acid." Wine Enthusiast
"Aromas of roses, crushed stones and light cherries. Medium body. Crisp. Very tasty. Crisp finish." James Suckling
"The "basic" Morellino from Le Pupille, confirmation of a project with great vision. Intense on the nose, black mulberry, a hint of liquorice and garrigue, spicy on the palate, with tannins perfectly integrated into the body, excellent persistence of flavour." Luca Gardini

"Spicy berries, red plums and cherries are followed by a medium-bodied palate with fresh tannins and a juicy, medium-long finish." James Suckling
"The 2019 Montecucco Rosso Riserva is dark and brooding in the glass, with suggestions of rosemary and sage, chalk dust and autumnal spice giving way to red currants. This washes across the palate, elegant and refined, with sleek red and black fruits carried across a core of vibrant acidity. It leaves a coating of fine tannins to linger along with a licorice tinge, as hints of sweet sage and violet inner florals fade." Vinous

“Kepos” Costa Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Kepos 2020 will be the last vintage of this wine, after which its grapes will go to varietal wines and a new project, hence the label's meaningful addition of "Last Call".
This unique symbiosis of three Mediterranean grape varieties is the pure expression of Ampeleia: a well-structured, fruity wine that, as a classic second wine, already comes very close to its "big brother" Ampeleia with its refinement and linearity. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Kepos is a unique blend of Alicante Nero, Mourvèdre and Carignano. It offers plenty of dark fruit character intermingled with lavender, rose petal and dried herbs. I find Kepos a bit less distinctive than the other wines in the range, most of which are single-variety wines, but it is nevertheless an engaging and very pretty wine." Vinous
"Fragrant nose of violets, orange peel, raspberries, green peppercorns, clay and thyme. Medium-bodied with precise, tight tannins and lively acidity. Lean and fresh, but surprisingly firm and structured." James Suckling

“Barbaspinosa” Rosso Maremma Toscana DOC 2018
Bright ruby red with delicately lightening rim. Fresh, pithy, very enjoyable wine with the scent of dark cherries, flowers and mint. Hearty delicate taste, good present acidity, very lively and full of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sangiovese with some Cabernet from the Avvoltore vineyards: inviting bouquet of plums, vanilla and sandalwood; nice melt and polish, good acidity, solid length." Vinum
"Medium ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. In the nose of ripe blackberries and pickled sour cherry, slightly spicy in the background. Mouth-filling on the palate, juicy, with fine tannin." Falstaff
"The 2018 Barbaspinosa is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon that spent a year in French oak. Racy and succulent in the glass, the 2018 offers up dark cherry, mocha, spice, licorice and leather, all nicely framed by a discreet kiss of French oak. Pretty floral accents lift the finish effortlessly. This mid-weight Maremma red is a winner. Drink it over the next handful of years. " Vinous
"The Morisfarms 2018 Maremma Toscana Sangiovese Barbaspinosa is a lively, almost electric wine, with medium-dark color saturation and terrific aromatic depth. There is bright cherry, redcurrant, spice and a powdery overlay of crushed stone. This wine should drink comfortably up to the 10-year mark." Wine Advocate

Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG 2020
The Morellino Riserva has a ripe and intense nose of black fruits, raspberries and notes of violets. Wonderful texture on the palate, beautiful fruit, very harmonious flavour. An extremely elegant wine, with lovely tannins and a final that combines freshness and depth. Very successful! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stimulating, juicy cherry red colour with beautiful brilliance. Elegant nose with plenty of liquorice, Amarena cherry, cassis and a fine salinity. A prime example of modern Morellino. Lots of sweet cherry combined with a bunch of herbs. Toasted salted almonds and fresh plum. A wine with powerful but perfectly elegantly integrated tannins. The Riserva is young and challenging on the palate, but all within the comfort zone. Sangiovese with drinking appeal!" Vinum
"The nose leans sweet, with vanilla, cherries, strawberries and a touch of blood orange, but undertones of spices and earth emerge with time. Cherries also star on the palate, before buoyant acid lifts a latent heat into an astringent finish, where the nose's blood orange note blossoms." Wine Enthusiast
"The Morellino di Scansano Riserva 2020 is another convincing wine from Elisabetta Geppetti. Dark and explosive, the 2020 has so much to offer. An explosion of dark plums, chocolate, liquorice, spices, leather and menthol sweeps across the palate. The harvestwill find a Morellino of unusual density and nuance. Outstanding." Vinous
"Bright cherries, spices and a hint of dried flowers. Also rose stem. Medium body with firm and slightly chewy tannins. Bright. Needs time to mellow." James Suckling

“A Quo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
A Quo is the entry into the sensual world of Montepeloso. A fresh, daring wine from younger vineyards. Round and velvety, clean and fruity, this blend of five grape varieties combines the virtues of Montepeloso and Fabio Chiarelotto's high standards to the finest. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 A Quo is a fabulous introduction to these wines. Bright, punchy and vibrant, the 2021 offers up an exciting mix of red fruit, blood orange, rose petal, mint and cinnamon. Montepeloso's entry-level estate offering is a winner." Vinous
"The 2021 A Quo, made mainly from Sangiovese and smaller proportions of Malvasia Nera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano, Marselan and Alicante Bouschet, offers intense scents ranging from blackberry to dark rose - like one of those deep purple flowers you see in a flower shop. It has a dense texture and a solid structure." Wine Advocate

“Le Difese” Toscana IGT 2021
Le Difese is the freshest and most accessible of the three wines from San Guido. For us, it is one of Tuscany's finest price-quality wonders. Magnificent, sweetly perfumed fruit aromas in the opulent bouquet, equally generous and broad in the long-lasting flavour of dark cherries, wild strawberries and tangy rosehips. Le Difese shows the estate's great class in a more playful way. SUPERIORE.DE
"This red delivers cherry, berry and rose flavors shaded by earth and a touch of minerality. Tips to the tannic side on the finish, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"Le Difese 2021 is predominantly Sangiovese (55%), departing from the traditional 70/30 split in favour of Cabernet Sauvignon. The third generation of Tenuta San Guido, Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta, explained that this decision was made to enhance the "local Tuscan" character of the wine and improve its drinkability at an early stage as a "first step into the world of Tenuta San Guido". While the Cabernet is grown on the estate, the Sangiovese is, as always, sourced from long-standing partners in Chianti Rufina. Bright, incredibly vibrant red, black and blue fruits are accompanied by subtle, fine-grained tannins with notes of wood and chocolate. It is simultaneously juicy, tangy and crisp, with good ripeness and great acidity." Decanter
"The 2021 Le Difese smells of crushed red berries, rose petals, lavender, spices and sweet pipe tobacco. The 2021 is medium-bodied, but beautifully complex and impeccably balanced. Even at this early stage, it is a real pleasure. In many vintages, Le Difese is a fruity, forward wine, but the 2021 has a classic flavour that is very appealing. It is one of my favourite vintages of recent years. As has been the case for some time, Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate and Sangiovese purchased from various estates in Chianti Classico, with the energy of the Sangiovese coming through very strongly in this vintage." Vinous
"Dark, sparkling ruby red colour. Opens up on the nose to ripe sour cherry and blueberries, followed by notes of sage and wood spice. Flattering on the palate, with pithy tannins and concentrated fruit, pleasant right through to the lingering final." Falstaff

“Palistorti di Valgiano” Rosso Colline Lucchesi DOC 2020
Bright ruby red. The aroma is dominated by red and black berries. With a little air, cherries and sour cherries become more pronounced, and something spicy that you can't immediately place. Somehow fresh and yet Mediterranean, but not like Chianti or Brunello. Is it the little bit of Syrah? Or is it this unique terroir? Wherever this spiciness comes from, in combination with this pronounced fruit, it smells simply wonderful. On the palate, it is full-bodied, very juicy and again this unique combination of fruit and spice that makes the wine simply exciting and special. Juicy, finely structured, perfectly balanced, with character and animating acid bite. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. On the nose aromas of undergrowth, small red fruits and some hints of tobacco and liquorice. Rich, concentrated flavour, soft and spicy at the same time, with compact tannins and a medium finish." Falstaff
"The 2020 Palistorti di Valgiano is a very interesting wine. Intensely aromatic and savory, the 2020 is also quite distinctive. Dried herbs, lavender, mocha, macerated dark cherry and incense soar out of the glass. Wild and a touch eccentric, the 2020 is incredibly distinctive, especially for readers in search of something new." Vinous
"Lots of blackberry, licorice and clove aromas follow through to a medium to full body, tight and slightly austere tannins (in a good way) and a fresh, vivid finish. Racy and bright. Better in a year or two, but already attractive." James Suckling

“Ampeleia” Costa Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
Ampeleia is the winery's top wine and, since the 2015 vintage, has been made exclusively from Cabernet Franc from various plots planted at a cool altitude of 500 to 600 metres above sea level. A wine with personality and character, its inner elegance and fruitiness make it a fascinating interpretation of the new and different Maremma. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy and beautifully stocky Cabernet Franc with lots of wild berries, fresh herbs, mezcal and white pepper. Generous and juicy on the palate with a medium body and fresh acidity and tannins. All delivered in a very drinkable, expressive way." James Suckling
"Presents perfumed aromas of cherries, raspberries, cedar, leather, wild herbs and spices that echo on the palate. An intense red wine with a firm structure that develops into a long, complex finish. Still needs some time to integrate the dusty tannins." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Ampeleia is deep, striking and very expressive. In 2019, the Ampeleia seems to offer a bit more volume and brooding intensity than in most years. Black cherry, mocha, dried herbs and espresso give it a remarkable, sepia-coloured intensity. This powerful Franc is a winner. I suggest giving the 2019 and all of these wines a little aeration, as oxygen is very beneficial." Vinous
"Made with Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Ampeleia gives us a unique view onto a grape variety that we are seeing with increasingly successful results along the coast of Tuscany. In this case, you get punchy (macerated) fruit flavors of candied blueberry and cherry and lots of vertical lift from a producer who always offers interesting winemaking interpretations in wines from Tuscany and in the far north of Italy under the Elisabetta Foradori brand. The wine winds down slowly with lingering notes of cigar ash, smoke and tar." Wine Advocate

“ALTROVINO” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2019 (BIO)
Altrovino is a fine blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Intense, rich ruby red. Opulent scent of black fruits, leather and tobacco. Graceful and very charming on the palate, multi-layered in aromas, velvety and long. Already a harmonious pleasure, this wine will have a continuous career. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby with a dark core and garnet rims. Finely spicy on the nose, with notes of black currant, wild berries, some mint, some dark chocolate in the finish. Supple on the palate, still quite young, firm tannin, juicy and with lots of grip, long finish with a slightly salty final." Falstaff
"The 2019 Altrovino, Duemani's Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend, is very beautiful. It offers a striking combination of floral aromatics. All the elements are so well-balanced. Dark cherry, plum, mocha dried flowers and herbs build into the fine, delineated finish. This is beautifully done." Vinous
"A finely crafted and beautiful red with blackberry, tobacco and currant aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a pretty finish." James Suckling
"The bouquet delivers some minty tones and eucalyptus essence on top of dark cherry and blackberry. There is a lot of concentration and fruit weight in this bottle, with a blast of pretty freshness on the close." Wine Advocate

Syrah Toscana IGT 2020
Satta's almost black-purple Syrah with an extraordinary bouquet of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, tar and graphite shines with richness and intensity. Not a flatterer, but not an edgy representative either - a sensational wine for today and the years to come. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright ruby red. Compact on the nose with fine spice, blueberry, elderberry and dark chocolate. Supple on the palate entry, round and full mouthfeel, elegant, with rich fruit and lingering finish." Falstaff
"Lots of Mediterranean spices, wild herbs, black earth and sour cherries on the nose. Juicy and fresh with fleshy cherries and berries on the palate, rounded off by soft, silky tannins. Very drinkable now, but also capable of ageing." James Suckling
"The 2020 Syrah is full of Maremma character. Dark and brooding, the 2020 offers tons of depth but with no excess heaviness. Tobacco, scorched earth, leather and cloves build nicely in a mid-weight, layered Syrah that has so much to offer. Give this a few months to soften." Vinous

“Eneo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Eneo is supposed to be the "Grand Vin" of Montepesolo, the Italian answer to the globalisation of wines. And Eneo can do that. The blend of indigenous grape varieties, with Sangiovese and Montepulciano clearly in the foreground, unmistakably expresses its terroir and is understood worldwide in the process. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, sparkling ruby red with a dark core. Filigree in the nose with discreet notes of ripe cherry, blueberries and red roses. On the palate with fine fruit melt, creamy and with beautiful fruit, juicy, young but fine-grained tannin, slightly salty on the lingering finish." Falstaff
"Fresh raspberries and blackberries with smoke and asphalt. Medium-to full-bodied. Tight and focused. Creamy and very fine tannins. Give it two or three years to open but already delicious." James Suckling"The 2020 Eneo does not have the same fruit flesh and mass as the 2019 vintage, but it shows a lot of richness and intensity, especially on the bouquet. Perhaps the flavours in this wine are more focused and sharper, and there is a nice mineral note that forms a through line between the bouquet and the medium to full mouthfeel. This vintage feels more approachable than the 2019." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Eneo is bright and effusive, with notable aromatic presence but perhaps a bit less textural intensity than most years. That will make it easy to drink with minimal cellaring. Red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and a hint of cedar linger." Vinous

“Cont' Ugo” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
Dark ruby purple in colour, with a blackcurrant aroma and an excellent length, firm tannins, fine extract sweetness and a pronounced spicy note on the final. We are excited to see what elegant heights this great Tuscan Merlot will reach in the coming years. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Cont'Ugo 2021 is packed with dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, liquorice and cloves. This luscious Merlot will drink well right from the start. It is the archetype of a Maremma red wine." Vinous
"Fresh and varietally expressive, this red bursts with cherry, black currant, olive, tobacco and sweet spice flavors. Balanced and open, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit and spices." Wine Spectator
"Ripe plums and blackberries with sweet spices, violets and chocolate on the nose. Full and structured with fine tannins. Compact and broad-shouldered, ripe, but with tension and energy. Impressive depth and concentration. Long." James Suckling
"Brilliant, medium ruby red colour. Intense nose of ripe cherries and juniper, with a fine woody spice and dark chocolate aftertaste. Balanced on the palate, with a concentrated fruit centre, fine-grained tannins and plenty of pressure right into the long finish." Falstaff

Limitation of 2 articles per customer“Avvoltore” Rosso Toscana IGT 2018
Elegant Sangiovese, refined with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Deeply dark and with a terrificbouquet, strongly fruity, concentrated and soft on the palate with slightly spicy and vegetal hints. The brilliant final of this savoury and juicy Maremma classic is highly individual and captivating every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, sparkling ruby red colour. On the nose, red peach, cranberries, some watermelon, fragrant and floral nuances, cinchona bark, black tea. Juicy on the palate, with a radiant, warm-hearted fruit centre, with noble earthy tones, precise, on noble notes of tea and cranberries, salty undertones, great!" Falstaff
"The 2018 Avvoltore is a very pretty, polished wine, perhaps a little less opulent than it could be, but not in a bad way. The lighter style of the year allows the Sangiovese to come into its own. Dark fruits, leather, liquorice and spices develop beautifully and become more and more persistent until the long finish. This wine is wonderfully successful." Vinous

“Bòggina A” Sangiovese Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2020 (BIO)
The A in the name of the Boggina stands for the natural wine aged for about 6 months in terracotta amphorae of 400-600 Liters each, which is bottled in an edition of just 5,000 bottles without further addition of sulphites. Bright, luminous garnet red. The bouquet is ethereal, very delicate and nuanced, with a very precise fragrance interpretation of the Sangiovese grape. Medium-bodied, with a beautiful structure and authentic Sangiovese fruit with a salty vein. The finish is highly drinkable, with silky tannins and a beguiling length. A masterpiece of beauty and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Pure red wine with aromas and flavours of cherry, strawberry, iron, earth and tobacco. Lean and supple in texture, with an elegant profile and a long finish that reflects the fruit and spicy notes." Wine Spectator
"Bright, medium-dense ruby with a slightly pale rim. Very fragrant and appealing nose, of ripe raspberries, fresh plums, plus notes of cinnamon, some cardamom. Firm tannin on the palate, shows good tension, but at the same time seems a bit raw, salty on the final." Falstaff
"The Petrolo 2020 Val d'Arno di Sopra Bòggina A presents the Sangiovese grape with a fresh, concentrated, almost crisp personality. This organic wine opens with aromas of wild strawberries or fragolino, lilac, blood orange and rusty earth. It has an almost shiny or brilliant character. The Bòggina A shows plenty of primary freshness, fine tannins and balanced acidity." Wine Advocate
"Very floral and pretty with aromas of orange peel and cherries that transition into a medium body with lots of tension and brightness. A dusty texture of tannins." James Suckling
"The 2020 Boggina A, 100% Sangiovese vinified and aged in amphora, is possibly the best vintage of this wine I have ever tasted. Finely sculpted and nuanced, the 2020 sizzles with energy. Crushed rocks, red fruit, spice, mint, rose petal and orange peel are all beautifully delineated throughout. Just as important, the 2020 doesn't have any of the awkward aromas and flavors that have penalized some previous editions. Superb." Vinous

“Guidalberto” Toscana IGT 2021
Since Guidalberto has been vinified from its own grapes, most of which also grow in the Sassicaia DOC monopoly position, San Guido's "second wine" has grown beyond itself. Spicy, earthy bouquet with hints of tobacco, clove and lavender, dense and juicy on the palate with fresh red and black berry fruit. The tannins are well balanced and the finish is complex with a majestic elegance that will become even more refined with years of ageing in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE
"Concentrated and dense, with dark fruit flavors of blackberry, blueberry and black currant, this red also reveals black olive and iron accents. The tannins clamp down for now, yet this is balanced overall, with everything well-proportioned." Wine Spectator
"Aromas of blackcurrants, dark cherries, chocolate, ground spices and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied with compact but supple and polished tannins. Spicy notes with hints of dried mushrooms and chocolate. Attractive with a lingering finish." James Suckling
"The Guidalberto 2021, an assemblage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from San Guido, is soft, juicy and seductive right from the start. The supple contours of the Merlot lend fleshiness to this medium-bodied, racy Maremma blend. Ripe red cherry fruit, spice, leather and tobacco are beautifully brought to the fore. Best of all, the 2021 will be easy to drink right from the start." Vinous
"The Tenuta San Guido 2021 Guidalberto, a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, shows tart cherry fruit with dark blackberry and plum tones. This vintage delivers particularly edgy and focussed fruit characteristics, elegantly framed by light spice, cola and earth. This vintage shows a heightened sense of intensity and territorial identity that is the hallmark of this storied winery." Wine Advocate
"Sparkling, intense ruby-purple colour. Opens with appealing notes of mint, blackberry and mulberry, with spicy cedar wood in the background. Fine-meshed, polished tannins characterise the palate, present, clear fruit, beautiful drinking flow." Falstaff
"According to Carlo Paoli, the winemaking director of Tenuta San Guido, the 2021 is the best Guidalberto he has ever produced. The proportion of Merlot was reduced to the typical 40% this year because the quality of the Cabernet Sauvignon was so good. The Guidalberto 2021 has a very deep colour, almost black with a narrow purple rim. It took about an hour to really open up, but then it had a wonderful range of aromas and flavours. Notes of cassis and blueberries, blue flowers, violets and iris are followed by a palate full of perfectly ripe blackberries and blueberries enveloped in smooth, creamy flavours. A wine of velvety richness balanced by vibrant acidity, with very pure, concentrated aromas and flavours. Delicious!" Decanter
"This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which has now undergone a refined stylistic redesign, also stands out: a wine with a nose of blackberries, with notes of Mediterranean scrub and rhubarb, then nuances of eucalyptus. Taut and crisp, with spicy tannins, juicy and beautifully persistent." Luca Gardini

“Poggio alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia” Toscana Bianco IGT 2021
Poggio Alle Gazze is a very elegant Sauvignon Blanc with a small addition of Vermentino and Viognier. Fabulous aromas of flowers, pineapple, peach and a little mint. Refined and expressive on the palate, well-structured and wonderfully long. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Poggio alle Gazze dell'Ornellaia, made mainly from Sauvignon Blanc, shows a bright and transparent appearance with fresh flavours of passion fruit, citrus and green apple. The wine is very focussed in this classic vintage with forward acidity and beautiful mineral notes. Ornellaia is one of the few wineries to offer a Sauvignon Blanc in this part of Tuscany." Wine Advocate
"This white starts out round and fleshy, reminiscent of gooseberry, peach and elderflower in its aromas and flavors. Firms up midpalate, where a bitter citrus element emerges along with mouthwatering acidity. Salty finish." Wine Spectator
"The Poggio alle Gazze dell'Ornellaia 2021 is a wine with class. The 2021 is bright and finely polished, racing across the palate with notes of lemon confit, sage, mint and white flowers. The 2021 is lively and energetic, but also has a lot of depth." Vinous
"The aromas of apple slices, pineapple, apricots and stones merge into a medium body with a creamy texture and pleasant bitter lemon flavours on the finish." James Suckling
"An elegant, complex nose offers lime, citrus blossom and gooseberry, then mixed dried herbs and an almost imperceptible but essential umami undertone of Parmesan rind. The balance between savoury and citrus continues on the palate, where a mineral backbone and strong acidity provide structure in a rich, silky texture." Wine Enthusiast

“Le Difese” Toscana IGT 2021 · MAGNUM
Le Difese is the freshest and most accessible of the three wines from San Guido. For us, it is one of Tuscany's finest price-quality wonders. Magnificent, sweetly perfumed fruit aromas in the opulent bouquet, equally generous and broad in the long-lasting flavour of dark cherries, wild strawberries and tangy rosehips. Le Difese shows the great class of the winery in a more playful way.

“Poggio Valente” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 · MAGNUM
Poggio Valente comes from a single vineyard of the same name at an altitude of around 300 metres. Opulent floral and small-fruited Sangiovese nose with optimally nuanced hints of tobacco, cedar and mint. Precise on the palate with plenty of pressure and power, then towards the end the furious resolution of all the well-dosed components in a fine, silky texture and an unforgettable, long final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very youthful bouquet with red berries, black cherries, redcurrants, as well as a noticeable minerality and spice (undergrowth, tobacco). Powerful but elegant style, fine tannin structure, lives from the red berry fruit and an astonishing freshness for the warm vintage." Weinwisser
"The notes of the 2020 Poggio Valente, a single varietal Sangiovese, intensify in a heady, effortless Tuscan red that hits all the right notes. Dark red/purple fruit, rose petals, liquorice, cedar and tobacco fill the layers. The 2020 impresses with its outstanding balance and class." Vinous
"Promising bouquet of raspberries and flowers, also subtle spicy notes; pithy on the palate, robust tannins, lots of character and good length, elegant lingering finish, in short: a wine for many situations." Vinum
"The Fattoria le Pupille 2020 Poggio Valente, which came from a difficult harvest for Sangiovese, shows aromas of wild cherry, pressed violet, balsamic herbs and grilled rosemary. The wine has good freshness (this was the difficulty of the vintage) and has good tannins supporting a rich fruit core. The Poggio Valente is not dominated by oak, and this is also what characterises it." Wine Advocate
"Lots of rose petals, orange peel and cherries on the nose. Medium-bodied with a very long and bright fruit character. Lasts for minutes, with so much energy and brightness." James Suckling

Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2021 · MAGNUM
Classic Bolgheri Rosso with a strong bouquet of raspberries and redcurrants, cassis and a little tobacco. Juicy, full-bodied flavour, beautiful tannins and good acidity. A wonderful introduction to the great world of Le Macchiole wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Bolgheri Rosso 2021 is a great wine that shows how convincing this vintage is on the Tuscan coast. Exuberant and deep, the 2021 is wonderfully complex from start to finish. Gentle notes of mocha, new leather, cedar, tobacco and dried flowers add complexity." Vinous
"Refined combination of black berries, coffee and dried flowers; on the palate with character, robust tannins, lingering fruit and herbal notes on the finish." Vinum
"Bright ruby violet colour. Discreet and fine on the nose, of pine needles, cold smoke and ripe wild berries. Gripping on the palate, with young, still somewhat impetuous tannins, shows great juiciness in the finish, still needs a little patience." Falstaff
"Attractive aromas of dark berries with crushed walnuts, savoury herbs and dusty earth tones. Medium to full-bodied with a firm grip of tannins that are fine and polished. A juicy acidity cuts through the linear finish. Fresh with a stony minerality that shines through on the finish." James Suckling
"The wine shows itself from the start with powerful but also very fresh fruit flavours of dark cherries and blackberries. The quality of the primary fruit is perfect, especially in this balanced vintage, and you get powerful flavours that go well with grilled meat. The wine has tremendous structure, acidity and elegant tannins." Wine Advocate
"On the nose, sweet, slightly tart aromas of cherries and blackberries are balanced by a stony, spicy earthiness. That interplay between tart fruit and sanguine earthiness continues on the palate, creating the sensation of a breath of fresh spring air after the rain, before chalky tannins and bright acid usher in a bitter, peppery finish." Wine Enthusiast
"This pure and expressive red wine is characterised by aromas of cherries, raspberries and blackberries, complemented by iron, spices and light herbal notes. Lean and elegant, with a juicy profile and excellent persistence on the finish." Wine Spectator

As every year, Antonio Galloni dedicates his own tasting report to the exciting Tuscan west coast. And as always, we have compiled for you the wines available with us from this exciting report. Have fun browsing and discovering! SUPERIORE.DE
"The new wines from the Tuscan coast will give harvesta lot of pleasure. The 2020 vintage is a little patchy, but the best wines offer remarkable freshness and aromatic intensity, with less weight than is typical, not a bad thing for a region where wines can be a little heavy. From what I've tasted so far, 2021 looks to be a much more evenly balanced vintage, with all the classic characteristics of textural richness that make the wines of coastal Tuscany so distinctive. Although this review focuses on the coast, I include notes on a handful of other wines from other inland appellations that are too small to be treated alone." Vinous
