“MCMLVII” Merlot Vigneti delle Dolomiti DOC 2019 (BIO)
At the southern foot of the Margreider Schuttkegel, a vineyard with the dialect name "Punggl" spreads out, which has been known and sought after for winegrowing since time immemorial. In the mid-1950s, the former owners of Ansitz Hirschprunn had planted a vineyard there with Merlot, as it had already produced very good results in the decades before. In 1995, the grapes from this vineyard proved to be of such first-class quality that they inspired Luis von Dellemann, the Oenologistin charge at the time, to vinify these grapes as a single-vineyard wine – this strictly selected grape material has formed the basis for the MCM since then and only in the best years.

“Manna” Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 · MAGNUM
The vineyards of the five grape varieties are located at altitudes between 350 and 800 metres above sea level and face southwest. The vines grow on –, –, – and marl soils.
As a young wine, Manna has golden yellow hues, after a few years of ageing they turn into strong golden tones. Manna is very special: complex, multi-layered with the bouquet of elderberry, pistachio, apricot, nutmeg and delicate rose petals. Concentrated, voluminous and at the same time elegant and complex on the palate. A wine that can be discovered from different perspectives in the course of its development and unfolds its character more and more. The vineyards of the Löwengang estate in Margreid have been owned by the Lageder family since 1934. Here, on the rubble cone of ancient dolomite rock below steep cliffs, grape varieties such as Carménère and Cabernet find optimal conditions in the mild climate of the valley.
Löwengang underlines the unique DNA of the grapes from which this wine is made. Parts of the vineyard are around 145 years old and the vines are among the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol. Count Melchiori, the former owner, planted the plots in Margreid with Cabernet around 1875. At least that's what he thought - because a large part of the vines planted at that time were actually –vines. Through intensive study of the vineyard and extensive genetic analyses, the Alois Lageder winery discovered that the vineyard was actually a mixed set of Carménère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In order to emphasise the special origin of the grapes, the wine will be offered as "Löwengang Historischer gemischter Satz" from vintage 2018.
Complex, concentrated bouquet with fruity hints of cherries and blackcurrants, spicy aromas of tobacco, floral notes of violets and mint and a very elegant woody tone. Troy is not a normal Chardonnay. Rather, it is the archetype of a Chardonnay, as Wolfgang Klotz, managing director of probably the most successful winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol, sees it. The grapes come from two selected vineyards in Söll, near Tramin. Not only does a Mediterranean climate prevail there, but also quite cold fall winds at night determine the vegetation. Both factors ensure optimal development of the plants and fruits. The berries are handpicked piece by piece and it is therefore clear to every wine connoisseur that this is an absolutely prestigious project of the cooperative. It is therefore not surprising that only 3,000 bottles of this vintage are sold in selected specialist shops and top restaurants.
Intense straw to golden yellow. Tropical fruit on the nose, a hint of camomile and mint, then fine toasted notes and a subtle nutty touch. On the palate, you can almost taste the proximity of the mountains, its clarity, freshness and intensity: exotic notes of yellow ripe fruit, then again some nuttiness and in addition again a beguiling liveliness and minerality, which ends in an equally long final. “Vigna Toren” Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018
The single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Toren is the only red cru from Tiefenbrunner's rare –line and comes from a 0.6 –microlocation with – and –gravel soils: Sparkling garnet red with a slight violet shimmer. NA as in Nals, MA as in Margreid. A tribute to two outstanding sites where something special can be –, – and felt, and which have inspired cellarmaster Harald Schraffl to create something equally special from their grapes. A wine and essence that expresses the essence of the small plots in its purest form, whose typicity tells the South Tyrol of tomorrow, a timeless wine with recognition value in an international context. In 2016, this special marriage of – and –grapes finds its way into the bottle for the first time. NAMA is born – a cuvée of 85% Chardonnay, married with Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon.
Harald Schraffl describes the wine as follows: "The Chardonnay brings the power, the timelessness and the international length to the wine, the Pinot Blanc the regionality, the rootedness with our soil and our homeland, the Sauvignon the spice."
The vines for the Cuvée NAMA are between 30 and 40 years old. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. After the gentle whole bunch pressing, the must is pre-clarified by natural, static sedimentation, fermentation and ageing in small oak barrels for 18 months on the lees. The grapes are then assembled and matured together on the lees for a further year in stainless steel tanks. The Cuvée NAMA is then bottled, where it matures for another year. SUPERIORE.DE

Troy is not a normal Chardonnay. Rather, it is the archetype of a Chardonnay, as Wolfgang Klotz, managing director of probably the most successful winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol, sees it. The grapes come from two selected vineyards in Söll, near Tramin. Not only does a Mediterranean climate prevail there, but also quite cold fall winds at night determine the vegetation. Both factors ensure optimal development of the plants and fruits. The berries are handpicked piece by piece and it is therefore clear to every wine connoisseur that this is an absolutely prestigious project of the cooperative. It is therefore not surprising that only 3,000 bottles of this vintage are sold in selected specialist shops and top restaurants.
Intense straw to golden yellow. Tropical fruit on the nose, a hint of camomile and mint, then fine toasted notes and a subtle nutty touch. On the palate, you can almost taste the proximity of the mountains, its clarity, freshness and intensity: exotic notes of yellow ripe fruit, then again some nuttiness and in addition again a beguiling liveliness and minerality, which ends in an equally long final. At the southern foot of the Margreider Schuttkegel, a vineyard with the dialect name "Punggl" spreads out, which has been known and sought after for winegrowing since time immemorial. In the mid-1950s, the former owners of Ansitz Hirschprunn had planted a vineyard there with Merlot, as it had already produced very good results in the decades before. In 1995, the grapes from this vineyard proved to be of such first-class quality that they inspired Luis von Dellemann, the Oenologistin charge at the time, to vinify these grapes as a single-vineyard wine – this strictly selected grape material has formed the basis for the MCM since then and only in the best years.

The single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Toren is the only red cru from Tiefenbrunner's rare –line and comes from a 0.6 –microlocation with – and –gravel soils: Sparkling garnet red with a slight violet shimmer. "There are tasks and tasks. Every year I am particularly pleased when it is time to taste the wines from South Tyrol in the far north of Italy. My samples usually arrive when the weather is warm, and I particularly look forward to the bright fruit aromas that come from the cool climate, the distinct salinity that comes from the region's unique geology, and the freshness of the wines from the high altitudes. I also love the great variety offered by the region's winemakers: Sparkling wines, a wide range of white wines (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Silvaner, Kerner and more), elegant red wines (Pinot Noir, Schiava, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and more) and fine dessert wines.
