“Selezione 3 Cru” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO) · 6 bottles in gift box
Dievoles three new single-vineyard wines are the result of an effort to highlight the identity characteristics of particularly suitable vineyards in Chianti Classico, leading to ever more precise expressions of Sangiovese. This gift box of 6 contains 2 bottles of each of the three single vineyards.
2 bottles à 0,75l | "Petrignano" Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Petrignano is the name of a characteristic area with a soil rich in minerals and stones. At an altitude of about 330 metres, rocks protrude from the ground, typical of the geological formation of Monte Morello. The abundance of stones, the depth of the roots and the low growth of the vines result in an expressive and lush wine from this characteristic and authentic cru site. Intense ruby red. Very appealing bouquet dominated by ripe fruit, cherry and blackberry aromas. Juicy, full and rich on the palate, with blackberry and ripe fruit flavours. Warm and velvety finish with fine and soft tannins, very accentuated interwoven with the fine acidity framework. SUPERIORE.DE

Decanter: 91 points/silver medal2 bottles à 0,75l | "Casanova" Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
The Casanova grapes come from a vineyard at an altitude of about 400 metres, with an ideal south-west to south-east exposure and consisting mainly of sandstone rocks Macigno del Chianti. The result is a Chianti Classico that is very immediate and direct, with a beautiful acidity to boot. It has the elegance and freshness and the bright, radiant fruit of Chianti Classico "as it used to be". Bright, luminous ruby red. On the nose, classic aromas of the grape variety with notes of small red fruits such as cherries and sour cherries alternating with spicy notes. On the palate it is soft, carried by a dense tannin structure and a spicy, velvety finish. SUPERIORE.DE

James Suckling: 90 points2 bottles à 0,75l | "Catignano" Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Catignano is a plateau at 370 metres above sea level, with vineyards of different ages and a large proportion of Alberese. The exposure is westerly and south-easterly, which means plenty of sun during the day, but also cold temperatures at night, with a good temperature range that favours the aromatic development of the grapes. On the nose, notes of red fruits, then a tertiary complexity of tobacco leather, graphite and liquorice. Warm and juicy on the palate, with notes of ripe red fruits. A juicy, sun-drenched cru. “Selezione 3 Cru” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 · 3 bottles in gift box
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. Since the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family has, for the first time, vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione to reflect the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiola.
We are pleased to offer you all three 2019 Cru from three terroirs from three communes in a beautiful decorative box!
1 bottle à 0,75l | "Castello Fonterutoli" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019
Castello di Fonterutoli comes from 11 different plots at an altitude of 420-510m around the hamlet of Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti. It is quasi the "château" and at the same time the oldest cru of the winery and was first produced in 1995 as the predecessor of today's Gran Selezione. Rich colour and a clear scent of blackberries, cherries, violets and flowers, plus some nougat. This full-bodied Castello Fonterutoli impresses with its beguiling extract sweetness and polished tannin. The intense and concentrated taste enchants the senses. The long final is full of elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, radiant ruby red. Somewhat restrained on the nose, gentle hints of orange zest and raspberries. On the palate juicy and with a red berry fruit core, shows itself elegant and drinky, currently still very young, in the finish delicate pressure with a lot of finesse, salty." Falstaff
"A top Chianti Classico that smells of dark cherries, rose petals and cedar on the nose and palate. Medium to full-bodied and very structured with lots of tannins. Needs time to mellow. Taste after 2024." James Suckling

Badiòla is the historic name of a vineyard in the municipality of Radda, whose grapes are vinified separately for the first time by the Mazzei family as Gran Selezione with the 2017 vintage. Bright ruby, a restrained but clear nose of wild berries, blue flowers, undergrowth, and hints of dark pepper. On the palate, Badiòla is masterfully balanced, almost weightless. The very well integrated tannin makes it seem supple from the first to the last glass and impresses with a long finish - its elegance is great! SUPERIORE.DE

Vicoregio 36 is the successor to the ambitious Mix 36 and, as of 2017, a true Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. As a result of 50 years of research, 36 biotypes of the Sangiovese grape were planted on a sunny plateau near Castelnuova Berardenga, from which this extremely interesting and distinctive wine was created a few years ago. The overall impression is very balanced and straightforward with hints of red cherries, spices, dried blueberries and tobacco. It is the warmest and most balanced of the three Gran Selezione wines. Its intensity, richness of colour and precise fruit instantly captivate the Sangiovese lover. SUPERIORE.DE

“I Climat” Selezione Chardonnay Friuli Isonzo DOC 2017 · 6 bottles in OWC
For more than thirty years, Vie di Romans has been vinifying only its own grapes in order to respect and express the respective vineyards of origin. The crus "Piere", "Vieris", "Vie di Romans", "Ciampagnis", "Dessimis" and others embody the sensory quintessence of their grapes of origin, each with its own recognisable and enduring historical character.
With the ambitious project "I Climat" (traditional Burgundian term), Gianfranco Gallo wants to present the terroir expression of his wines in the truest and most authentic way. Each individual terroir offers a certain variability: it is up to the winemaker to decide whether to capture its unique essence or to use it in a more general way.
At Vie di Romans, the Chardonnay variety was chosen because it has an innate, genetic ability to connect in a very noticeable way with the different soil-climate complexes in which it grows. The six different Climat wines come from specific Chardonnay parcels within the two crus vineyards, Vie di Romans and Ciampagnis, and contain the names or name components of the families who farmed these vineyards in the distant past - Nuts, Goss, Curie, Glesie, Boghis and Cortesar. In the past, local properties were very parcelled out and, unlike today, were farmed by the same family or owner for generations.
It is important to mention that uniform viticulture and vinification practices were used in the vinification of all six site Chardonnays, so that no external factor could compromise the unique and natural expression. Each vintage (since the beginning of 2015) is the result of 18 months of "elevage sur lie" followed by two years of bottle ageing. The extended maturation period was deliberately chosen to allow the wine to develop the authentic sensory expression that a specific soil-climate unit is capable of producing.
Gianfranco Gallo is convinced that the true identity of a wine and the terroir that produces it only emerges through longevity, because it is only through this process that the wine discovers its inner balance, stability and unmistakable identity. SUPERIORE.DE

1 bottle à 0,75l | "Vigna L'Apparita" Merlot Toscana IGT 2011 in gift box
Elegant Merlot from high altitude vineyards, whose further development in the bottle always fascinates. Very inviting bouquet, ripe berry note, elderberry and coffee. Extremely fine and structured on the palate, dense, polished tannins, finishes very long and relaxed. SUPERIORE.DE
"Compared to 2010, the 2011 L'Apparita (100% Merlot) is a completely different wine. It is impossible to imagine how Castello di Ama could improve on the absolutely divine and delicious 2010, but I liked the 2011 even better. Again, I just have a feeling that this winery, with its vineyards perched at over 500 metres, does best with warm vintages like this. Those who love Castello di Ama wines will have to wait for the 2013 vintage. This is a beautiful wine that sings with a loud and graceful voice. The cherry-like softness of the Merlot has been brought back to a perfect point. The wine offers layers of richness and suppleness. The effect is layered, complex and utterly captivating. This is an outstanding wine." Wine Advocate
"A deep and beautiful red with the character of ripe berries, plums and orange peel. Almost exotic in style. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a caressing texture. Lasts for minutes. So nice now, but 2018 will be even better. The best L'Apparita ever?" James Suckling

"The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista opens with dark concentration, bold intensity and an immediate delivery of ripe fruit flavours. Stylistically, this Grand Selezione is extracted from a single vineyard, muscular and extremely fruit-driven. The heat of the 2011 vintage comes through loud and clear. Pleasingly, the mouthfeel is tighter and more focused with dusty minerality on the tannins and long persistence." Wine Advocate
"The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista from Ama shows the darker, brooding style of Ama's Sangiovese. Graphite, smoke, tar, liquorice, incense and cloves envelop a core of dark fruit. The 2011 is a wine with gravitas and vertical structure that will do well in the cellar for several decades. For the vintage, however, it is an unusually austere wine. harvestwill have to be patient to experience Bellavista at its best. Nero d’Avola “Cru Collection” DOC 2021 (BIO) Horizontale · 6 bottles in OWC
Feudo Maccari's two new Nero d'Avola vineyard sites are the result of an endeavour to highlight the identity characteristics of particularly suitable vineyards, leading to ever more precise expressions of Nero d'Avola. This 6-bottle gift box contains 3 bottles of each of the two single-vineyard wines.
3 bottles of 0.75l | "Guarnaschelli" Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC 2021 (BIO)
The single vineyard Guarnaschelli is a 60-year-old vineyard with a slight westerly exposure. A loamy matrix of brown skeletal soils can be found here. This generous soil, characterised by limestone, gives the wines finesse and minerality. Here, the plants produce grapes of consistently high quality every year - the result of deep roots and restrained, intelligent vineyard work. The strong exposure to the sun is tempered by constant winds blowing from all directions. This sets in motion a play of temperature fluctuations from which the old vines benefit to produce complex and aromatic grapes.
"Deep, impenetrable purple colour. Impressive depth of lifted cherry and damson fruit, with a complex note of spicy oak and hints of eucalyptus and white pepper. The palate is juicy, lush, sour cherry and damson, with a hint of grainy tannins and surprisingly high acidity on the finish. The 15% alcohol is well integrated. A few more years in the bottle wouldn't go amiss, as this wine has both the richness and the tannic structure." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of terracotta, dried earth, stone and black berries. Medium to full body. Strong but fine tannins. Lasts for minutes. The fruit remains flowing but always in check. A wine for the cellar. A new benchmark for Nero d'Avola. The magic of a single vineyard." James Suckling

James Suckling: 97 points3 bottles of 0.75l | "Sultana" Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC 2021 (BIO)
The Nero d'Avola grapes for the very rare Sultana come from a steeply sloping, bush-shaped vineyard facing north-west. The soil here is white with a limestone matrix, rich in minerals and drainage capacity. The pronounced slope and very poor soil reinforce the pedoclimatic characteristics in which the Nero d'Avola plants find a natural habitat. It is an extreme terroir, a combination of environmental and human factors, that distinguishes the Sultana vineyard from other vineyards. The light reflected by the white soils enhances the characteristics and ultimately the quality of the grapes from the vineyard. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep purple in colour and significantly darker than the Vigna Guarnaschelli of the same vintage. Concentrated nose of sour cherry and raspberry with chalky notes. Juicy, lively, almost tart cherry and raspberry fruit, with a dose of grippy tannins on the finish, suggesting that this wine needs more age. Much less full-bodied than its 15% would suggest. It is currently more approachable than the Vigna Guarnaschelli." Jancis Robinson
"Spectacular aromas of hibiscus, lemon blossom, raspberry and red liquorice. Lots of crushed red berries. Medium body with fine, flattering tannins. Bright acidity on the finish. A triumph." James Suckling

An absolute rarity is Vietti's 6-bottle wooden box with one bottle each of the great Barolo Cru of the top vintage 2018 - an almost magical collection of strictly limited pearls.
"A symbolic dance between ever-changing sensory impressions and nuances, following an expressive freedom that only the best wines can and do transform into pure pleasure. This is what 'Let's dance' means to us."Elena und Luca Currado Vietti
Each high-quality produced wooden box of 6 contains:
1 bottle à 0,75l | Barolo Rocche di Castiglione DOCG 2018
The supremely potent Rocche di Castiglione is often referred to as the first "official" cru in the history of Langa (along with Bussia di Prunotto, both of which were released with the 1961 vintage). It confirms itself once again as the great classic of the house with the 2018 edition. Dark fruits, pressed lilac, blood orange, powdered liquorice, balsamic herbs, spices, iron ore and aniseed fit together perfectly like pieces of a puzzle. Then lush and racy on the palate, with silky tannins and a great depth and resonance that will continue to develop with time. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is one of my favourite wines from Castiglione Falletto. The Vietti 2018 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is beautifully etched and sharp with a particularly delineated quality that is unusual in this vintage. The fruit comes from a small parcel of 8,000 square metres and, like the other wines in this Cru series from Vietti, it is aged for two years in oak barrels. The texture of the wine is beautifully soft and polished thanks to the carefully integrated tannins. Only 3,693 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate

"An expression of elegance in Serralunga", Luca Currado underlines at the tasting of Lazzarito, and we already agree with him on the nose. Gravel, pebbles, red fruits, rose petals, lavender and sage permeate this plastic and very lively Serralunga Barolo. Baroli from Serralunga d'Alba are often in a category of their own thanks to their richness and sheer abundance of fruit. The balsamic symphony opens the doors to a sip that is undoubtedly powerful, but at the same time refreshing and rich in vitamins. With added aeration, Lazzarito delivers mint and balsamic herbs. Lazzarito sets the pace and never loses its rhythm, the great texture of the tannins flanks this palate spectacle in an ideal way and we will discover much more about this great Barolo in the years to come. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Barolo Lazzarito represents Vietti's interpretation of Serralunga d'Alba, the village often associated with the appellation's most powerful wines. The Lazzarito completes its second fermentation in barrique over three months and is then transferred to large oak bottles where it ages for a further two years. With around 8,000 bottles produced in this smaller vintage, the wine is very indicative of its geographical origin with dense black fruit, rusty nail, blood orange and earth. Compared to the other wines in this series, this wine offers more persistent tannins. It's still a little salty and spicy now, but it lends itself well to long ageing." Wine Advocate

On the palate we find a terrific softness and textural silkiness, this continues with hints of mint, liquorice and camphor ash for many minutes. Polished tannins round off this masterpiece into an extremely elegant Brunate. SUPERIORE.DE
"The medium-bodied Barolo Brunate 2018 with fruit from La Morra shows a beautiful softness and a delicate side with dried roses, lilac and blue flowers. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrique and is later aged in large oak barrels. This double oak treatment is part of Vietti's secret recipe to create the silky tannins and fine texture you taste here. The wine, of which 4,493 bottles will be produced, features a distinctive aromatic final reminiscent of liquorice and balsamic herbs." Wine Advocate

Storage potential: 2045+1 bottle à 0,75l | Barolo Ravera DOCG 2018
Vietti's Ravera is one of the great stars of Piedmont in its precision and structure. It uses fruit from Novello, from a site that looks out over the castle of the same name on the hill in the distance. This wine offers an impeccable balance between nose and mouth, showing immense purity and power in one package. Rose petals, chalk, pepper and a hint of pomegranate make this Barolo one of the most sought-after in the appellation every year. With some ageing, the powerful tannins give way to an elegant impression that does not deviate one millimetre from the coveted style of this great vineyard. A monument of Barolo, which only a few other winemakers in Piedmont besides Vietti and also Giacosa bottle with such consistency! SUPERIORE.DE
"Vietti is one of the few wineries to have brought Novello's Ravera MGA to its current popularity. Their 2018 Barolo Ravera has a smoky personality with gravel and pencil traces. There are lots of dark fruits in the background, especially ripe cherries and blackberries, and the wine is powerful and firm in terms of its structure and tannins. The Ravera is a wine of enormous length and a finely tuned texture. Exactly 7,560 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate

Storage potential: 2048+1 bottle à 0,75l | Barolo Monvigliero DOCG 2018
The second novelty of the 2018 vintage is Vietti's Barolo Monvigliero. The special feature: Approx. 60% of the grapes are not destemmed, which enhances the aromatic nuances of the wine. Youthful notes of raspberry and blueberry are flanked by black pepper, gentian, porcelain and black olives. The palate has a beguilingly soft texture, fine and creamy, underpinned by wonderful laurel and floral aromas. Monvigliero impresses with its purity, its serenity and its class. Excellent. SUPERIORE.DE
"Here's a very special treat from Verduno and one of the most exciting new releases we'll see from Italy this year. Vietti's 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is made for the first time with 60% whole grapes, following a time-honoured local tradition. The soils of Monvigliero are loose and light, producing dense but full-bodied wines. The use of whole grapes gives the wine more texture, intensity and tannins. With aromas of wild berries, roses, dried mint and white liquorice, and very fine and soft tannins, this wine is part of a precious production of 3,207 bottles." Wine Advocate

Storage potential: 2046+1 bottle à 0,75l | Barolo Cerequio DOCG 2018
Vintage 2018 marks Vietti's exciting Barolo debut from one of Piedmont's most famous vineyards, characterised by exuberant aromas and bright, red-tinged fruit. The bouquet is enormously opulent with ripe fruit aromas ranging from wild cherry to red currant. This is joined by original tones of jam, plum and a hint of ragout. The palate is nuanced and very deep, with enormous complexity, volume and character. Vietti's Cerequio is stunning right off the bat! SUPERIORE.DE
"Here is an exciting new submission from Vietti. The 2018 Barolo Cerequio is beautiful, with a broad and rich bouquet that paints a panoramic vision of this MGA spanning the villages of La Morra and Barolo. Despite this broad vision, this wine also stands out for its subtle aromas of wild cherry, gravel and black liquorice. Cerequio is a wine of great breadth and depth. Taut tannins help to bring it together into a comprehensive whole. Only 4,925 bottles of this first release were made. Congratulations." Wine Advocate
