• "Orion" Primitivo del Salento IGT 2018 <br>MAGNUM

“Orion” Primitivo del Salento IGT 2018 · MAGNUM

Orion is a very special primitivo, it is always fresh and of a remarkable endurance. Dense ruby red with violet edge, intense nose of aromas of ripe and fleshy red cherries, followed by spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. In the mouth powerful, smooth and very long. Its clearly defined acid wire sets it apart freshly and pleasantly from the otherwise far too often offered sweet, jamy primitivo monotony. SUPERIORE.DE

“Cassiopea Pagus Cerbaia” Rosato Bolgheri DOC 2016

Pagus Cerbaia denotes a first-class small plot of land with sedimentary soils. This is where the small quantities of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon come from, which are partially fermented in amphorae and oak barrels after harvest. The "Selection Rosato", bottled only in a few hundred bottles, offers an intense floral aroma and captivates the palate in a lively and cheerful way with a persistent spicy note and a wonderfully complex finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"This is extremely long and polished with a great finish. Medium body, dense and fruity with lovely acidity. Gives depth and form at the finish. Made in amphora and barrel. Syrah. New and exciting wine." James Suckling

“Sedàra” Rosso Sicilia DOC 2017 · MAGNUM in Gift Box

Wonderful cuvée based on Nero d'Avola. Ruby red with vivid garnet reflections. In the intense fragrance allusions of tobacco, spices and mineral notes. The balanced taste, characterized by red fruits, impresses on the palate with blackberry and sour cherry tones and ends in a final of good length. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark, bright ruby red. In the nose of ripe cherries, plums, underlined by fine spicy and peppery tones, appears compact and inviting. Taut and juicy on the palate, opens on spicy elements, gripping." Falstaff

"A ripe and juicy wine with sour-cherry and berry character. Hints of almonds. Medium body. Flavorful finish." James Suckling

"Deep red. Ripe aromas of red cherry and Oriental spices. Then fresh and juicy, but with a luscious quality to the super-ripe red and black cherry flavors that turn more austere in the middle. Finishes long and suave. This smells and tastes a lot like the 2018 Sherazade, only made from riper grapes." Vinous

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2019 secco · MAGNUM

Out with the cliché, in with the surprise! Even the most famous Lambrusco plant of the Paltrinieris will fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat process (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling.

This naturally cloudy, dry Frizzante convinces already on the nose with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and some bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinkable nature make it a racy companion for hearty, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply a lively celebration in the midst of nature and happy people. SUPERIORE.DE

"This copper-red Frizzante is a natural work of art: tasting a little like rhubarb and raspberries, dry - and cloudy like a wheat beer, because it has been fermented to the end in the bottle and not disgorged. It is sealed with a crown cap (like all champagnes before disgorging). The liveried waiter in the chic restaurant in Sardinia opened the bottle as openly at the table as the Köbes in Cologne opened the beer. Right on!" Dr. Jens Priewe (weinkenner.de)

"Pale salmon pink; pastry notes, fine rubbery, arouses curiosity; smooth foam, very fine, practically dry, fruit depth, length, very pleasant (with yeast).". (JLF) Merum

A Nebbiolo for purists. In the fragrance pine resin, dried fruit and essential spices. On the palate we find sweet plums, juicy cherries, robust tannins and a fine mineral acidity. This drop requires a strong food companion and is in this combination a great pleasure! SUPERIORE.DE

1924 Prosecco Spumante di Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Brut · 0,75l in OWC

"1924" is a reminiscence of the founder Antonio Carpenè, who was largely responsible for the development of the Prosecco Spumante as we know it today. Equipped with a beautiful reproduction of the label of that time, the production is also special: the necessary second fermentation on the yeast in the pressure tank (autoclave) lasts here a whole 25 days, which leads to a finer expression of the bouquet, the aromas and the perlage. This high quality Prosecco Superiore presents itself in the nose delicately fruity with ripe fruit and white flowers, in the taste it is full of character with a beautiful acidity, the right dose of yellow pome fruit and subtle almond notes. This noble bubble / sparkling wine is a prime example of DOCG and a more than adequate tribute to its inventor! SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, brilliant silver with fine perlage. In the nose melon, smoke, slightly bacon, flint. On the palate balanced and fine, rests elegantly in itself, juicy, opens clearly and balanced, in the aftertaste further juicy and slightly salty, long. Falstaff

Intense ruby red, persistent, fruity bouquet with notes of wild berries, violets, cloves and cinnamon, as well as sweet tobacco aromas. On the palate concentrated, fleshy, tannic, dark fruit. In the finish, the spice tones merge with a pleasant fruity note. All in all a promising drop at a very attractive price! SUPERIORE.DE

"Very rich, dark ruby red. In the nose after fine wood spice and ripe raspberries, cherries, forest fruits, some liquorice in the aftertaste. On the palate it opens beautifully, juicy and clear, handy tannin until the final, delicate post-drying." Falstaff

"Cherry, leather, iron and earth flavors shout Sangiovese, yet there is a saline element too. Linear, dry and persistent. Shows fine balance." Wine Spectator

"Aromas of cherries and watermelon follow through to a medium body, light tannins and a fresh finish. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling

"The bouquet is savory yet slightly restrained in its youthful state, as notes of crushed raspberry give way to peppery floral and herbal tones, with a hint of spiced orange. On the palate, silky textures flood the senses with pure cherry and wild berry, as saline-minerals and fine tannins slowly settle in, kept lively through balanced acidity. The finish is long and structured with saturating dried red fruits resonating, turning more toward the savory spectrum, as youthful tannins clench the senses. The 2016 Colle Massari Montecucco Rosso Riserva is a blend of 80% Sangiovese with equal parts Ciliegiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Things to know about
    Rarities

In particularly good vintages, particularly fine wines ripen naturally. The winegrowers often bottle wines from rare vintages separately. In large bottles, because the maturation takes place a little slower in them. And because they are of course also sought after as collector's items or as gifts.

These special bottles usually come in a specially designed gift box or an original wooden cassette, also abbreviated OWC. For the protection of heavy bottles, as collector's items or for counterfeit protection. Particularly valuable wines are therefore often only offered in 6 or 12 OWCs. These bring, if one collects these under yield aspects, then also with auctions clearly higher values.

Jeroboam. Balthazar. Nebuchadnezzar. Methuselah. What the fuck are you doing?

This is what these rare large bottles are called. From France. But not even there uniformly. It may well be that a bottle in Bordeaux and Champagne has the same name, but has a different number of litres. A little confusing, then. Internationally, however, these designations have become established for wine: Magnum (two standard bottles) 1,5 l, double magnum 3 l, Jeroboam 5 l, Methusalem 6 l, Balthazar 12 l and Nebuchadnezzar 18 l.

    Vertical. Special lovers vintages.

The highlight for real wine lovers. The same wine from different top vintages. That's when the wine freak becomes the afficionado. You invite your best friends, decant the wines for lunch (don't forget to order decanters!), take the matching Riedel glasses and then enjoy the evening when your friends have no idea what they have in the glass and guess completely wrong. At the end the bottles are presented and then there is nobody who doesn't go home happy and smiling. SUPERIORE.DE
