Pagus Cerbaia refers to a prime small plot of sedimentary soils. This is where the small quantities of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon come from, which are partially fermented in amphorae and oak barrels after the harvest. Bottled in only a few hundred bottles, the "Selection Rosato" offers an intense floral aroma and beguiles the palate in a lively, cheerful way with a lingering spicy note and a wonderfully complex finish. Out with the cliché, in with the surprise! The Paltrinieris' most famous Lambrusco growth will also fill every connoisseur with joy. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling.
This naturally cloudy, dry Frizzante already convinces in the bouquet with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus note and a little bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinky nature make it a racy companion to hearty, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply an upbeat celebration surrounded by nature and happy people. In particularly good vintages, particularly fine wines ripen naturally. The winegrowers often bottle wines from rare vintages separately. In large bottles, because the maturation takes place a little slower in them. And because they are of course also sought after as collector's items or as gifts.
These special bottles usually come in a specially designed gift box or an original wooden cassette, also abbreviated OWC. For the protection of heavy bottles, as collector's items or for counterfeit protection. Particularly valuable wines are therefore often only offered in 6 or 12 OWCs. These bring, if one collects these under yield aspects, then also with auctions clearly higher values.

This is what these rare large bottles are called. From France. But not even there uniformly. It may well be that a bottle in Bordeaux and Champagne has the same name, but has a different number of litres. A little confusing, then. Internationally, however, these designations have become established for wine: Magnum (two standard bottles) 1,5 l, double magnum 3 l, Jeroboam 5 l, Methusalem 6 l, Balthazar 12 l and Nebuchadnezzar 18 l.
