“Mason” Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 2021 (BIO)
"Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique location: a south-facing high plateau, constantly exposed to the wind, ideal for the narrow-berried Pinot grapes." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Rich ruby red, ripe fruit flavours with fresh mineral spice reveal the complexity of a great Pinot Noir. Juicy, yet velvety, fine-grained tannins and perfect structure on the palate, balanced and harmonious on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A vibrant red, with a bright spiciness in the concentrated flavours of raspberry puree, blood orange peel, chopped thyme and rosemary. Along with hints of loamy earth and spice, this light to medium-bodied version offers light, chalky tannins that provide crisp definition on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2021 Mason Pinot Noir is dusty and floral, with rose tones and dried strawberries forming its delicate bouquet. This is round with juicy acidity and fresh red and blue fruits. Energetic and fresh from start to finish, the 2021 tapers off gently tannic with a raspberry and licorice tinge." Vinous
"Mason comes from the four-hectare, south-facing Mazzon vineyard at an altitude of 400-450 metres. This Pinot has quite a woody profile, imbued with vibrant, juicy cherry and floral aromas and a concentrated core of pure raspberry and pomegranate flavours. On the palate, it is carried by supple, almost invisible tannins, with woody notes and sweet spice on the fresh, juicy finish." Decanter
"Aromas of roses, cranberries and violets follow through to a medium body, with polished tannins and a brightness and freshness. Fine tannins and polish." James Suckling

“Linticlarus” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018
Ruby red Pinot Noir with garnet red shimmer. Fine fruity bouquet of wild berries and cherries. An elegant red, well-proportioned and never overloaded, but with a clear identity and elegant character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich sparkling ruby red with black-red accents. Pronounced aroma of heart cherries and ripe wild berries, a hint of white pepper and mocha on the nose. Taut and juicy, well-integrated tannin, balanced use of wood, ripe nuances, coherent, lively finish." Falstaff
"I love the interplay of delicately smoky oak and black cherry on the nose of this Sub-Alpine pinot noir. With some aeration, a freshly sliced red-beet note develops. Although the gentle tannins are slightly sappy, this fits very well with the medium-bodied, lively palate. Quite a dry, crisp finish that needs some time to harmonize further." James Suckling
"The Tiefenbrunner 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Linticlarus is a beautiful wine with a bit of spice and dried fruit, iron ore and blue flower, all woven together with a tight and seamless stitch. The wine plays forward over the palate with increasing intensity and balance. This is an elegant wine, and it's impossible not to be excited by these quality results with Pinot Noir from the far north of Italy. This expression concludes with length and a freshness that can be counted in minutes." Wine Advocate

“Revei” Pinot Nero Valle d’Aosta DOP 2019
Pinot Nero Revei, which means clock in the local dialect, is linked to the history of the medieval tower that dominates the vineyard in Aymavilles. The tower was once home to a reclusive clockmaker, whose profession brought back the theme of time and its value in nature and for mankind.
The mere 1,800 bottles (per vintage) of Revei are the result of great experience and patience. Time plays a fundamental role in its production, maturation and ageing. It begins with the harvest of optimally ripened grapes and ends with 18 months of refinement in 700 litre wooden barrels and subsequent bottle ageing in the winery's cellars. Brilliant ruby red colour. Fruity and beguiling nose of ripe red berries and a delicate hint of cocoa. Juicy, pleasantly acidic on the palate, with a fine structure and velvety tannins. Impressive depth and length! SUPERIORE.DE
"The Les Crêtes 2019 Valle d'Aosta Pinot Nero Revei shows a pretty bouquet with wild berry and strawberry with blue fruit tones at the back. The wine reveals mid-weight texture, moderate length and soft tannins." Wine Advocate

“Rodel-Pianezzi” Pinot Nero Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018
The approx. 35-year-old Pinot Nero vines stand near the village of Rodel-Pianezzi at an altitude of approx. 500 m. Ruby-red wine with aubergine reflections. Frank, clean scent of wild strawberry, raspberry and delicious notes of tobacco. On the palate, a very well-balanced extract-tannin ratio, yet complex, soft and with a spicy-salty vein. The well-dosed use of wood and the finely meshed tannin create a good framework for further development at absolute Riserva level. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Pinot Nero Rodel Pianezzi lifts from the glass with an inviting blend of dried black cherries, dusty sage and clove. This is round and soothing on the palate, with sweet spices giving way to ripe strawberry and minty herbal tones that add a lovely lift toward the close. It finishes lightly structured and incredibly long, leaving licorice and cinnamon stick notes to taper off slowly." Vinous

“Nero di Nubi” Pinot Nero Toscana IGT 2015
Nero di Nubi is a brilliant, unspoilt expression of this delicate Burgundy grape variety with great strength and a typical Tuscan attitude. You can taste the warmth and exuberance of the lush 2015 vintage, but this additional richness and strength never exceeds the natural limits set by this variety from the outset. In the bouquet forest berries and candied cherry with orange peel and violet. To finish, a little powdered earth with dried Mediterranean herbs. Fabulous! SUPERIORE.DE

“Pernice” Pinot Nero dell' Oltrepò Pavese DOC 2020
The first 1,850 Pinot Noir vines were brought to Italy from Burgundy by Count Vistarino back in 1865. Since then, the vinification of this demanding grape variety has been continuously refined over the generations. Today, the Pinot Noirs from the winegrowing dynasty can even outshine much more expensive Pinot Noirs from Burgundy at international tastings.
Conte Vistarino's Pinot Nero Pernice, which is great every year, comes from the single vineyard of the same name and fascinates with its fine fragrance and elegance. Intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is complex and rich with notes of violets and small red fruits, some roasted coffee and cocoa. Elegant, full-bodied on the palate, with present fruit, very balanced with a pleasant minerality and a long, spicy finish. The harmonious tannins make this wine elegant and give it a good backbone from start to finish. SUPERIORE.DE

Powerful on the palate with fine, persistent perlage and foam. With just 3 g of residual sugar, a very precise and racy Franciacorta in a class of its own. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with persistent perlage. In the nose with delicate smoky notes, of blood oranges and red berries as well as candied pear, fine sea salt in the aftertaste. Seems very pure on the palate, almost austere, very straightforward and with great juice, bone dry, lingers very long." Falstaff

“Mazon” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2019
The dark, ruby-red colour already hints at the enormous concentration of this Pinot Nero Riserva. The complex bouquet with the multifaceted aromas of a classic Burgundy is fascinating. Sour cherries and raspberries, delicate vanilla tones and fine spices. On the palate, a fleshy, sensual and ingratiating structure, lots of elegance and a taut, dynamic finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Pinot Noir Riserva Mazon is dark and youthfully inward with dusty black cherries, crushed red flowers and hints of smoke. This fills the palate with silky textures giving way to depths of dark red fruits and minerals. The 2019 holds its power in reserve, yet there’s plenty beneath the surface, as juicy acids create a jovial expression. Fine tannins linger while this tapers off with a hint of citrus and tart berries. The Pinot Noir Riserva Mazon is beautiful now, but it will be even better with time." Vinous

“Perlé" Metodo Classico Rosé Riserva Trento DOC 2015 brut · in gift box
Elegance, nobility and class come together in this spumante produced according to the classic method. Fine bubbly rosé of a distinguished old pink colour, with a delicate nose of delicate smoke, wet stone, salt lemon, grapefruit and a light touch of yeast. Very precise and dry on the palate with well-integrated perlage, elegant yet powerful, salty. The expressive temperament of the Pinot Nero and the fine nature of the Chardonnay form its stunning balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense, sparkling orange-pink. Initially influenced by a slight reduction on the nose, then opens up on wild berries, rose hips, wet stone and hazelnuts, clearly reminiscent of brown bread crust in the finish. On the palate, elegant, juicy and with present perlage, still young, can still mature a little in the bottle, seems very dry for a Brut, good length." Falstaff
"A bright and balanced rosé, with a pleasing creaminess on the palate that carries a lively mix of crushed strawberry and raspberry fruit, pickled ginger and blood orange zest, showing minerally hints of stone and smoke. Disgorged 2020." Wine Spectator
"Chamomile, hay, hazelnut and red-berry aromas form the appealing nose. On the elegantly sparkling palate, bright acidity lifts sour cherry, apple and pomegranate before a bread-crust close." Wine Enthusiast
"Plenty of candied orange and dried cherry on the nose, then a generous, crisp palate make a bold statement. Quite some complexity at the finish and enough acidity to keep this bright and lively." James Suckling

“La Tartufaia” Pinot Nero Langhe DOC 2021
A successful transformation of a Burgundian Pinot Noir with all the attributes of the ideal altitude of the Langhe. The grapes for this single-varietal Pinot Noir come from the highest slopes of Piedmont, over 500 metres above sea level, whose vines, unlike in Burgundy, grow on sandy, loamy soil. Bright ruby red in colour. Amarena cherry on the nose, rounded off with a hint of gooseberry and mint. Delicate flavour with a balanced and delicate mix of fleshiness, ripe red berries, refinement and elegance. Even when young, it is complex, rounded and has a delicate tannin structure. Giulia Negri demonstrates all her skills and the potential of her top vineyard "La Tartufaia" using the world's most demanding grape variety as an example. Chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE

This is where the sea and the volcano meet: straw yellow with golden reflections. Opens with a delicate aroma of ripe yellow peach, melon, dried banana, a hint of vanilla, then smoke with a dark, mineral undertone and a subtle hint of coriander. Explosively flavoursome on the palate with a fine-grained perlage and beguiling juiciness, with an exciting balsamic note and an inspiring, bone-dry freshness and fine saltiness on the endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with delicate copper-gold reflections. Grapey at the beginning, then unroasted hazelnuts, some pear, banana and pink flowers on the nose. On the palate with elegant fruit melting, savoury, on yellow peach with well-integrated perlage, creamy final, on fine nougat, fine persistence, long." Falstaff
"Wickedly fresh, the 2017 Alta Langa Zero lifts up like a fresh breath of mountain air as white smoke and stone dust give way to crushed green apples and hints of split pine. This is angular and mineral-drenched upon entry, as a silken wave of fine bubbles adds balance, and crunchy orchard fruits create a distinct savoriness within. It finishes with admirable length yet still remarkably fresh, leaving a salty flourish and reverberation of tension that curls the tongue. This is an intense experience, to say the least, one that keeps the taster coming back over and over again." Vinous
"Green apple and lemon zest/oil dominate the aromatic profile and show a mineral character. On the palate, the wine is lean and savoury and goes perfectly with oysters and other seafood." Wine Enthusiast
"Another refined blend dominated by Pinot Noir, taut, crystalline and intense. On the nose, notes of lime, sage and apricot with menthol notes. Great acidity on the palate, with a return of menthol and fruity notes. Beautiful finish." Luca Gardini

Metodo Classico Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018 brut nature
We are delighted to be one of the few retailers who receive a few cases of this finesse-rich sparkling wine every year. Brilliant pale yellow in colour, this clarity is also immediately apparent on the nose, where delicate fruit and citrus notes combine harmoniously with a refreshing minerality. On the palate, it has a pronounced elegance and finesse, supported by a freshness and precision that gives it great persistence. No dosage, less than 0.5g residual sugar, very convincing! SUPERIORE.DE
"Spicy and yeasty with notes of sliced apples, peaches, bread dough and dried flowers. Also some almonds. Medium-bodied, structured and firm, with a fine perlage and lively acidity. Limey minerality on the finish." James Suckling

“Sancaba” Pinot Nero Toscana IGT 2019
In 2012, Carlo Franchetti began making wines from Pinot Noir grapes grown at altitude in the hills around San Casciano Bagni. The following year saw the creation of Sancaba, the first collaboration with his cousin, aimed at highlighting the richness, depth and uniqueness of this grape variety in this particular terroir. In 2014, the two cousins merged their wineries and founded Vini Franchetti. Unfortunately, Andrea Franchetti passed away in 2021, a wine visionary who leaves a big gap. However, his two very different wine projects, one on Tenuta di Trinoro and the other called Passopisciaro on the slopes of Mount Etna, have one thing in common: to bring the characteristics of the vintage, the specificity of the terroir and the full potential of the grape variety into the glass. His wines are intuitive and poetic, always expressing exactly what his philosophy and vision of wine and life was.
Thus, Sancaba is also undoubtedly a champion of great character and elegance, characterised by the marked precision of the fruit. It is obtained from grapes grown on the hills around San Casciano dei Bagni at an altitude of 650 m, characterised by great temperature variations between day and night. It spoils the nose with intense and fascinating scents of cherries, red fruits, spicy tones, citrus nuances and mineral hints. In the mouth, it is structured, silky, with incisive freshness and a very long finish with mineral iodine tones. The almost never-ending finish with fruity hints deserves our applause! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, medium dense ruby. Finely marked nose with notes of ripe raspberries and blackberries, underpinned by cloves and cardamom. Fine-meshed, very polished tannin with sweet melting, showing lots of juicy fruit, elegant and with a long finish." Falstaff
