Almost impenetrable ruby red. The bouquet is initially still reductive and relatively austere, which opens up softly and warmly with seductive scents of ripe berries, tobacco and leather with increasing aeration. Concerto was born in 1981, a time of dynamic change in Italian viticulture. The previously untapped potential was recognised and experiments were made with new grape varieties and, for the first time, successfully with international grape varieties. Produced from 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Rosso Toscana Concerto was one of the pioneers of the later phenomenon of the Supertuscans and was one of the region's elite wines for a long time.
