Piccolominis Einzellagen-Brunello Vigna di Pianrosso 2015 stammt von einer ca. 300 m hoch gelegenen Südwest-Lage der Subzone Castelnuovo dell'Abate. Er ist von Anfang an wunderschön und zart und beeindruckt spontan durch seine Vitalität, Tiefe und Ausgewogenheit. Im Vergleich zum Basis-Brunello reift der Wein ein weiteres Jahr im Eichenfass und man spürt die zusätzliche Würze in der Nase. Auf reiche Gewürze, Leder und Teer folgen dunkle Früchte, Pflaume, Brombeere und Cassis. Der Abgang ist anmutig und seidig, aber seine Länge bleibt beeindruckend.
