      1 Flasche à 0,75l | "Siepi" Rosso Toscana IGT 2005

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarter Wasserrand. In der Nase mit betont rauchigen Noten, Noten von schwarzem Pfeffer, im Hintergrund dann etwas Brombeere, braucht etwas Zeit, um sich zu öffnen, dann etwas Nougat und Karamell. Am Gaumen kompakt, stoffiges, dichtes Tannin, frische Säurestruktur, zupackend, in der Mitte schöne Frucht, reife Zwetschkenanklänge (...) gutes Entwicklungspotenzial, zeigt bereits jetzt eine gute Länge. Lagern + 20 Jahre" Falstaff 01/2009

"Shows fantastic aromas of crushed raspberry and flowers, with an olive undertone. Full-bodied, with superrefined, silky tannins and a long, long finish. Caressing and beautiful." Wine Spectator

      1 Flasche à 0,75l | "Siepi" Rosso Toscana IGT 2006

"Funkelndes Rubinviolett. Kompakte Nase nach Zedernholz, nach Brombeeren und dunklen Kirschen, etwas Lakritze im Hintergrund. Dichtes Tannin, satte Brombeernoten, vielschichtig, spannt einen sehr weiten Bogen, langer Nachhall, salzig." Falstaff

"The 2006 Siepi is particularly beautiful in this vintage. The wine reveals tons of clarity, depth and precision in its violets, blackberries, minerals and French oak, with remarkable balance in between the fruit, acid and tannins. This full-bodied, vibrant Siepi could use a few years in bottle, but the wine’s impeccable balance means it can be enjoyed sooner than that, especially if the bottle is opened well in advance. This is a terrific effort from proprietor Filippo Mazzei, consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini and their team. Siepi is Sangiovese and Merlot that spent 18 months in French oak." Robert Parker

"Intense aromas of blackberry, black licorice and dried flowers. Full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a long, rich finish. Polished and well-made. One of the best ever from this producer." Wine Spectator

Falstaff

"Soft and attractive, with notes of dried blueberry and toasty oak. Very floral. Full and velvety-textured, with a delicious finish. An excellent red." Wine Spectator

"Once again, I am struck by the purity and definition of the fruit, a hallmark of the best 2007s. The density and richness follows through with authority to the engaging, finessed finish. This is one of the finest Siepis I have ever tasted." Robert Parker

"Siepi is a gorgeous super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese and Merlot that exhibits richness, intensity and purity. This is a luscious and opulent expression with deep aromas of cherry, blackberry, chocolate, espresso bean and spice. The finish is super long and delicious." Wine Enthusiast

"This is layered and very ripe, with soft, silky tannins and lots of dried-cherry, berry and chocolate character. Full body. Delicious finish." James Suckling

Falstaff

"Siepi is a gorgeous 50-50 blend of Sangiovese and Merlot that delivers intense aromas of ripe black fruit, rum cake, leather, moist tobacco and Indian spice. It lasts long on the palate thanks to its fine, silky texture. This vintage is slightly leaner, but brighter than the 2007." Wine Enthusiast

"Lovely aromas of currants and blueberries, with cream and vanilla undertones. Full body, with well-integrated tannins and a milk chocolate, currant jam aftertaste. Lots going on. Classy bottle as always." James Suckling

      1 Flasche à 0,75l | "Siepi" Rosso Toscana IGT 2011

"Funkelndes, intensives Rubinviolett. Präsentiert sich in der Nase mit Noten nach reifen Holunderbeeren und Zwetschgen, unterlegt von feinem Sandelholz. Saftig und gehaltvoll in Ansatz und Verlauf, zeigt viel knackige Beerenfrucht, griffiges, feinmaschiges Tannin, sehr langer Nachhall, im Finale dezent nach Tabak, geradlinig und klar." Falstaff

"A dark, voluptuous beauty, the 2011 Siepi captures the style of this wine nicely. Black cherry, plum, mocha and cloves abound in a supple, racy Sangiovese/Merlot blend. Copious French oak and rich, voluptuous fruit with all of the raciness and ripeness of the vintage are two of the signatures in this generous, internationally styled red from Fonterutoli." Antonio Galloni

"This is an extremely floral example of Siepi. Hints of chocolate and currants, too. Full body with fine, refined tannins. Super-fresh acidity and brightness. Wonderful length. Tangy, fresh finish." James Suckling

"Brimming with gorgeous intensity and richness, the 2011 Siepi is a hugely hedonistic and fruit-forward expression. The blend is Sangiovese and Merlot, and although you can taste some of the overt ripeness and power of the French grape, the Sangiovese side kicks in with pretty freshness and elegance. Dark cherry, tobacco and chocolate are delivered in thick waves over the palate. This Siepi is ready to drink now, or you can cellar it." Robert Parker

      1 Flasche à 0,75l | "Siepi 20 anni" Rosso Toscana IGT 2012

"A 50-50 blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, the 2012 Siepi is a beautiful wine that bursts open with enormous fruit intensity and purity. Siepi is a unique wine that is characterized by a deep sense of sharpness and focus that brings a very bright quality to the bouquet. This vintage represents the 20th anniversary of this wine (the first vintage produced was 1992) although this special single-vineyard has been in family hands since 1435 (you read that correctly)." Robert Parker

"Fantastic depth of fruit and mouthfeel to this red with blackberries, blueberries, spices, walnuts and fresh herb character. Orange peel, too. Full body, round and savory tannins and a mouth watering finish. A blend of sangivoese and merlot. Easily the best Siepi ever, and it celebrates 20 years of production." James Suckling

"The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura blasts across the palate with a heady array of black cherries, camphor, licorice and spices. The wine possesses gorgeous depth and inner sweetness in a plush, inviting style with plenty of early appeal. An explosive finish rounds things out in style." Robert Parker

"Aromas of ripe plums and berries and hints of tar. Full body, with velvety tannins and a lovely texture. Fruit and coffee character on the palate. Structured. Classy and powerful. Needs two or three years to soften. Better than 2006." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino "Poggio alle Mura" Riserva DOCG 2008

"This is one of the best wines of the vintage, with plenty of blackberry and vanilla character, but it's full-bodied, with juicy tannins and a savory finish." James Suckling

"The 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio alle Mura pushes the Brunello boundaries to an extreme. It will probably not appeal to everyone, but no matter how you cut it, this Riserva does indeed offer a memorable and delectable experience. This was a difficult vintage that shows beautifully in this bottling. A dark, inky appearance gives way to bold aromas of pressed fruit, prune and dark spice. The tannins show a degree of softness and are utterly void of that green, astringent after-bite you sometimes get with Brunello. Tangy black pepper and licorice add liveliness to the long finish." Brunello di Montalcino "Poggio alle Mura" Riserva DOCG 2009

"A balanced and refined wine with chocolate, spice and berry character. Medium body and fine tannins. Delicious and fine." James Suckling

"Dark and impenetrable, the 2009 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio alle Mura offers heavy notes of savory spice, teriyaki, tar, darkened fruit and Spanish cedar that contribute to the wine's overwhelming sense of density and richness. The fruit sees a beautiful level of ripeness that is neither heavy nor too sharp. The lavish oak tones add an enormous sense of grip, extraction and power. In fact, the alcohol reads 14.5% and you feel it. Yet, the mouthfeel is surprisingly more elegant than you might expect with a firm tannic skeleton fitted to a fleshy frame of dark berry fruit and blackcurrant. The balanced acidity also heightens the wine's sense of liveliness. This dark Brunello is ready to drink in the mid-term." Robert Parker
