• 1868 Prosecco Spumante di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore Cuvée DOCG Brut

1868 Prosecco Spumante di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore Cuvée DOCG Brut

Appetizingly sparkling yellow-green colour and finely foaming perlage. Clear and intense the scent of peach and green apple, in the background aromas of fine butter biscuits. It shows itself on the palate with a lot of fruit, fresh and balanced. SUPERIORE.DE

"The Maibowle is best finalized with a bone-dry Italian Prosecco. There is a lot of garbage on the market, but also great wake-up- and noisemakers like the juicy Brut Superiore DOCG by Carpene Malvolti. This spumante smells like brioche, tastes like green apple and - when the whole woodruff has long since faded - can be mixed with some peach puree and crushed ice to a perfect Bellini." Straw yellow, delicate scent of green apple. On the palate fruity, soft and thanks to its characteristic acidity at the same time dry in taste. The fine, persistent perlage gives wine and connoisseurs a pleasant liveliness. SUPERIORE.DE

    • 1924 Prosecco Spumante di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Brut

1924 Prosecco Spumante di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Brut

"1924" is a reminiscence of the founder Antonio Carpenè, who was instrumental in the development of the Prosecco Spumante as we know it today. The production is also special, with a beautiful reproduction of the label of that time: the necessary second fermentation on the yeast in the pressure tank (autoclave) lasts a full 25 days, which leads to a finer development of the bouquet, the aromas and the perlage. This high-quality Prosecco Superiore presents itself in the nose fine-fruity after ripe fruits and white blooms, in the taste it is full of character with a beautiful acidity, the correct dose of yellow pomace fruit and subtle almond note. This noble bubble / sparkling wine is a prime example of the DOCG and a more than appropriate appreciation of the inventor! SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, brilliant silver with fine perlage. In the nose of melon, smoke, slightly greasy, flintstone. On the palate balanced and fine, rests elegantly in itself, juicy, opens clear and balanced, in the aftertaste further juicy and slightly salty, long". Falstaff

    About the winemakers
    Carpenè Malvolti
    Veneto
    Carpenè Malvolti

At the latest since the production of the world's first bottle with the label 'Prosecco di Conegliano' In 1924, the family business Carpenè Malvolti contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Prosecco area between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in north-eastern Italy. Passion, tradition and innovation have been handed down from father to son for almost 150 years. Carpenè Malvolti owes its origins to the enthusiasm and professional skills of the chemist and oenologist Antonio Carpenè, who together with his friend Francesco Maria Malvolti founded the sparkling wine producer in 1868 in Conegliano Veneto.

Eight years later Antonio founded the first Italian school of oenology at his headquarters. The institute is still one of the best addresses among schools in this field. Today Carpenè Malvolti is managed by Etile Carpenè. The producer of Prosecco, Spumante, Branntweinen and Grappe was able to successfully enter the international market thanks to his profound knowledge of viticulture.

The entire range of products of the producer, who still cooperates closely with the Conegliano Wine School, offers the best possible quality every year. For generations, Carpenè Malvolti has been supplied with grapes and must by a three-figure number of winegrowers. Only 26 hectares of farm land are cultivated. The Prosecco Superiore accounts for the lion's share of the annual production of more than five million bottles. After the forerunner of his guild had initially given preference to traditional bottle fermentation (Champenoise), he later switched to barrel fermentation (Charmat method), invented by the Italian oenologist Federico Martinotti, and perfected this method for the production of pearly drops from the Glera vine.

The temperature control of Carpenè Malvolti's stainless steel pressure tanks is individually controlled by a computer system. Depending on their function, the production rooms are differently air-conditioned. Another winery of the probably most important Prosecco producer of the region is located in Follina, about 20 kilometres away from Conegliano. The distillates of the long-established company are also refined there. Located in the middle of the grape production area, the branch is responsible for the preparation of the base wines, which are then processed at the head office. The fact that Prosecco is one of the most famous and popular Italian wines today is certainly also due to the commitment of the Carpenè family. SUPERIORE.DE

"Carpenè's wines have a style that gracefully evokes the aroma of the vine, without forcing it to look for aromas that are sometimes not typical."Gambero Rosso
