Valpolicella DOC 2022
This traditional cuvée is already inspiring in its youth. Made from outstanding grapes, you can taste the ripe fruit and richness of the three classic vineyards. Deep ruby-garnet colour with violet reflections. Full bouquet of ripe cherries, some plum, herbs and orange zest. Juicy and complex on the finish, very long finish with a fine salt vein and subtle fruit sweetness. Drinkable! SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose of this fresh Valpolicella is characterised by pretty and superficially fresh floral notes, followed by tangy notes of red berries and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, fresh cherries, mixed herbs and undergrowth - all well balanced - give the wine a lightness and at the same time a complexity that keeps you coming back for more." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2022 Valpolicella Classico wafts up with a sweetly scented bouquet of dusty violets and roses, giving way to confectionary spice and crushed cherries. This is juicy in style, with crisp wild berry fruits and minty herbal tones accelerated by juicy acidity. It finishes long and perfumed, with a coating of gentle tannin that adds lovely punctuation. The 2022 is a beautifully refined Valpolicella." Vinous

Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2021
The Valpolicella Superiore from Allegrini is a fruity and at the same time very sophisticated drinking pleasure. The multi-layered flavours of blackberry and black cherry and the sweet melt on the palate find the perfect harmony and strength with a fine bitter almond component. SUPERIORE.DE
"Reductive, rich notes of blackcurrants, leaves, dark cherries and root spice. A classic blend of corvina, corvinone, rondinella and oseleta. Yet despite the obvious weight, there is a deft touch to the mid-palate and a detailed, fresh note to the sappy finish." James Suckling
"This wine's aromas are captivating. The nose is a true sensory experience, with notes of wild berries mixed with hints of herbs, bell peppers and forest floor. The palate continues with a mix of blueberries, strawberries, subtle dried herbal notes, savory spices and fine tannins. The palate vibrates with the right amount of acidity to keep it all together on the finish." Wine Enthusiast

“Palazzo della Torre” Rosso Veronese IGT 2020
This Venetian is exceptionally rich, concentrated and fresh in character with international appeal. Dried black cherry, plum and star anise are flanked by finely woven tannins and fresh acidity. Impeccable and a paragon of concentration and flavour enhancement. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, deep dark ruby red colour. Opens invitingly on the nose, with lots of savoury fruit, concentrated and spicy, slightly animal on the finish. Soft and flattering on the palate, opulent, with great presence and a long finish." Falstaff
"The Palazzo della Torre 2020, a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, is lush, dark and extremely modern in style and execution. It is a soft and well-structured expression with layers of ripe fruit, black cherry, spice, dark chocolate and spicy Spanish cedar from the oak ageing. The oak is quite dominant, so be prepared for this particular stylistic approach." Wine Advocate
"A part of this wine undergoes a drying process called appassimento and is then blended with the undried wine. This process gives the wine richness and intensity, while maintaining the freshness necessary for the wine's balance. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, sour cherries, mixed herbs and dried violets emanate from the glass. On the palate, the wine is rich yet balanced, with savoury notes and forest floor intertwining with the densely packed fruit, and a perfectly timed pop of acidity on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2020 Palazzo della Torre impresses with a seductive bouquet of exotic spices, cedar shavings, lavender and dried black cherries. This is soft textured and racy in style, with sleek red and blue fruits that flow across a core of brisk acidity. It leaves a staining of bitter dark chocolate, along with a primary concentration that puckers the cheeks as edgy tannins resonate. The 2020 packs a punch and will require some time to settle down." Vinous
"In the past, all grapes were dried. Today, only the Corvinone is dried due to the large berries and the greater ratio of liquid to solids. While the oak is evident, it is clearly a full-bodied wine built for ageing. In that sense, it serves more as a textural addendum than a shout-out. Notes of dark, saturated cherry, kirsch, liquorice, black olive tapenade and alpine herbs tied to an edgy band of tannin, with an underlying freshness that gives it a juicy, crisp feel and fine length." “La Grola” Rosso Veronese IGT 2020
La Grola is the eponymous, historic vineyard where Corvina, the indigenous grape of Valpolicella, is believed to have originated. The replanting of the vineyard by Giovanni Allegrini triggered an agronomic revolution and laid the foundations for the success of this wine-growing region, which today stands for convincing, great red wines from north-east Italy.
Dense, dark ruby red in colour, very rich and powerful on the nose with notes of wild and overripe berries. The rich fullness of coffee to black cherries is underlined by present, pleasant tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby colour with a dark core and fine garnet-red rim. Multi-layered bouquet of dark chocolate, cassis, underpinned by fine spice. Velvety texture on the palate, harmonious and round, concentrated fruit and pronounced length." Falstaff
"The 2020 La Grola shows ripe fruit, some herbal notes in the background, liquorice, tar and gentle spices. This simple red wine has a slightly wild side with fresh acidity and a whistling, clean finish. La Grola paints a more concentrated picture of Corvina, a grape usually used in traditional Amarone blends." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 La Grola is dark, brooding and complex, tempting the imagination with notes of spiced blood orange, cloves, dark chocolate and dried black cherries. It’s soft textured and more lifted than expected, with brisk acidity and a wave of tart wild berry fruit that slowly saturates. It tapers off with tension, puckering the cheeks with a primary concentration of fine-grained tannins that lingers on. The 2020 is an intense La Grola that will require patience." Vinous
"An elegant red wine with fine tannins that blend seamlessly with the ripe flavours of black and red cherries. Accents of smoked tobacco, rosehip, cocoa powder and aniseed run through the fruit profile, and a subtle, mineral hint of fresh earth and iron lingers on the finish." Wine Spectator
"La Grola has been an integral part of the Allegrini family since 1989. This blend of 90% Corvina and 10% Oseleta opens with aromas of black plums, preserved black cherries, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and violets. As the wine progresses, notes of cedar, cigar box and tobacco develop. On the palate, rich, black-coloured fruit dances with taut, well-structured tannins, while savoury and earthy notes add to the fascination." Wine Enthusiast
"A single vineyard whose fruit comes from a historically important site that is quite steep and calcareous and slopes down towards the Adige. No dried grapes. The tannins of the Oseleta are hard, firm and powerful on the attack. However, the mid-palate is round and energetic, softening any impression of stiffness as it expands aniseed, mint, leather varnish and dark, saturated berry fruit. This is a very good wine made for the cellar." James Suckling
"Podere La Grola, Sant'Ambrogio in Valpolicella, Corvina with a small proportion of Oseleta, which undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures in barriques. Liquorice, blackberry jam and lime on the nose, salty-sweet on the palate, with a fruity finish and slightly iodised final." Luca Gardini

“Giovanni Allegrini” Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOC 2016 dolce
Rich, impenetrable ruby violet, the bouquet with appealing aromas of sultanas, dried plums and elderberries. Explosive richness on the palate, full of pickled fruits, fine pepper notes in the background, opens with grippy tannins, plus a nicely balanced sweetness that reveals cherries and chocolate on the long final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red with a black, impenetrable core. The nose smells of dark chocolate, elderberries and prunes, some cloves and sandalwood. On the palate with exciting interplay between sweetness and tannin, good concentration but still finesse, shows good pressure and remains juicy on the finish." Falstaff
"Darkly floral and exotic, while pulling me close with medicinal black berries and clove, the 2016 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Giovanni Allegrini makes a lasting first impression. While silky-smooth and pleasantly sweet, there’s a lifted and vibrant feel on the palate that keeps the expression wildly fresh, as sweet herbs and tobacco echo throughout over a drenching mix of chocolate and raisins. It leaves a staining of ripe fruits but tapers off impossibly finessed and lifted. If anything, a bit more length might seal the deal, but that’s just splitting hairs. It’s a beautiful Recioto." “La Poja” Corvina Veronese IGT 2018
La Poja from the vineyard of the same name is a great terroir wine in which Allegrini does not dry the grapes. Made from the indigenous Corvina grape variety, this red wine opens with inviting aromas of ripe black-skinned berries, cedar wood and spices. The elegantly structured, full-bodied palate offers spiced blackberries, liquorice and black pepper alongside fine-grained tannins. Dynamic, precise and very elegant in all its components, it offers maximum enjoyment and promises a terrific development. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, rich ruby colour. Opens with notes of fresh red cherries, some blackcurrant, but is also somewhat closed. Lots of velvety, well-integrated tannins, plus some milk chocolate with redcurrant, pithy, spans a wide arc, savoury." Falstaff
"The 2018 La Poja opens slowly in the glass as notes of crushed ashen stone and savory herbs give way to crushed cherries and blueberries. This is a decidedly delicate and finessed style. Brisk acidity enlivens its tart wild berry fruits as plum and dark chocolate notes evolve toward the close. The 2018 leaves a coating of fine tannins to linger, finishing with admirable length yet structured. Always a standout, La Poja is a varietal Corvina made entirely from fresh (not dried) grapes." Vinous
"Attractive aromas of dark raspberry jam, dried strawberries and figs with hints of dark chocolate, flowers and orange rind. Medium-to full-bodied with very silky tannins and lovely dryness to the mid-palate. Impressive concentration and length, showing a very long, persistent finish with juicy black cherries and bitter chocolate at the end. Nothing sweetish here." James Suckling
"Aromas of black cherry and plum combine with sandalwood, clove, allspice and savory herbs to woo you into the glass. Elegant, refined, structured and full in body, this wine is pure class. The dark-hued fruit flavors are integrated with the savory elements of the wine, where each plays a key role. The star of the show is on the finish where a distinct minerality reminiscent of chalk stands firm with a lift of acidity around it." Wine Enthusiast
"This 2018 La Poja is super-bright and herbal, with cool, sapid black and red berries accompanied by balsam, violet and lavender overtones. Precise and vertical yet silky-soft and succulent, it perfectly balances high acidity with creamy intensity, and needs more time to show its best." Decanter

Deep garnet red in colour, the bouquet is reminiscent of dried fruit with hints of liquorice and subtle spices. On the palate, the wine is full and velvety with a hint of cherry and vanilla. Polished tannins, a fine saline note and well-balanced acidity guide this extremely elegant Amarone into a brilliant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense ruby red colour with a violet shimmer. Inviting aroma of ripe blackberries, cherries and sweet tobacco on the nose. A finesse-rich acidity on the palate, precise fruit flavours paired with spicy notes, finely integrated tannins and a long final." Falstaff
"Aromas of plums and black cherries, which fade into notes of black tea, violets and savoury spices. The palate is balanced and highlights both fruity and non-fruity flavours in equal measure. Black and red berries share the stage with notes of espresso, aniseed, dried leaves and limestone. Fine tannins and an expressive acidity make this wine a flagship." Wine Enthusiast
"The Allegrini 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a classic profile for air-dried fruit made with appassimento. A hint of candied cherry adds lift and intensity to the bouquet, which is otherwise characterised by heavier tones of black fruit, candied cherry, red liquorice and sweet earth or potting soil. It finishes with a balanced, full-bodied style." Wine Advocate
"On the one hand a modern interpretation of Amarone, on the other hand dense, fresh and alpine in flavour, full of alpine herbs and spruce sap. Bitter cocoa, ground espresso and the usual pithy tannins of dried grape skins, menthol and black liquorice. Immense, powerful and fresh." James Suckling
"A cool, damp vintage that has given this Amarone a balsamic, leafy character without losing any of its concentration. Rich and lively, it opens with scents of mint chocolate, coffee and black pepper, while a background of woody tannins supports creamy black and purple fruits. The good acidity softens the richness and the final is characterised by red and blue berries and a leafy note." Decanter
"The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is youthfully understated, requiring coaxing to reveal its depths of dried black cherries, mocha and cloves, all lifted by a hint of fresh mint. This impresses with its blend of sweet spices, opulent ripe wild berry fruits and silken textures, all balanced by brisk acidity and a pleasantly bitter tinge of dark chocolate toward the close. This finishes classically dry with dramatic length and potency, leaving a coating of fine-grained tannins that saturates, promising many years of positive evolution. Allegrini knocked this one out of the park. Wow." Vinous
"A classic of the type, a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, aged for 120 days, then 18 months in barriques, black cherry in alcohol on the nose, fresh pepper leaf, peony and nutmeg. Iodised salt on the palate, with a fruity-balsamic finish and a spicy aftertaste." Luca Gardini

“La Grola” Rosso Veronese IGT 2016 · Artist’s edition “Hiroyuki Masuyama” · 6 bottles in OWC
La Grola is the historic vineyard that gave its name to Corvina, the autochthonous grape of Valpolicella, which is probably its origin. The replanting of the vineyard by Giovanni Allegrini sparked an agronomic revolution and laid the foundations for the success of this wine-growing area, which today is home to great red wines from north-eastern Italy.
So it is not surprising that La Grola receives a special honour from its magnificent location. Since 2010, Allegrini has been collaborating with internationally renowned artists, publishing year after year a unique, limited artist edition. The edition opened with a work by Milo Manara, continued in 2011 with a label designed by Arthur Duff and continued in 2012 with a painting by Athos Faccincani. The composition VI by Wassily Kandinsky was selected for La Grola in 2013, and in 2014 the artistic journey went to Brazil and to Nazareno Rodrigues Alves, before returning to Italy with the 2015 edition to Leonardo Ulian.
The 2016 vintage was interpreted by a great Japanese artist: Hiroyuki Masuyama. In a highly innovative process, La Grola's Limited Edition ennobles the fascinating synthesis of overlapping shots. A total of 288 photographs are incorporated into this work, showing one of the legendary vineyards of Valpolicella from an exciting and completely new perspective. Time and space are the fundamental elements of Hiroyuki Masuyama's overall creativity: everything revolves around these two concepts, which have been formalised differently over the years and have become the hallmark of his work. Masuyama combines and overlaps the result of hundreds of photographs taken of his subject from a fixed angle. The result of this superimposition is another image of the same place.
In each wooden box of 6 there are 6 bottles with Masuyama's exclusive artist's label. We are pleased to be able to offer you some copies of the special edition, which is strictly limited every year!
Dense, dark ruby red, in the nose very full-bodied and strong with tones of forest and overripe berries. The rich fullness from coffee to black cherries is accompanied by present, pleasant tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lovely balance, as always, to this super Veronese red with juicy dark fruit and hints of black chocolate. Medium to full body, succulent tannins and a fresh finish." James Suckling

"Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is intense and structured, elite. It presents ripe notes of red fruit flesh, jammy figs, followed by warm tones of tobacco, coffee and spices such as cloves and pepper. The palate is dense, full and enveloping with pronounced tannins, long, captivating finish." Falstaff
"The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte is totally captivating, with a mentholated bouquet that mixes cedar spice box with cloves, dried blood orange and cinnamon-dusted black cherries. This envelopes the palate, elegant and seamlessly silky, as a core of racy acidity perfectly balances a dense wave of ripe red fruits. It lingers impossibly long, with framing tannins that punctuate the wine nicely without slowing its momentum. The 2015 Fieramonte is gorgeous today but also packed full of potential. What's more, there's no shame in bringing this beautifully sculpted Amarone to the dinner table." Vinous
"Aromas of blackberries, cherry pie and cooked plums combine with cloves, vanilla, freshly turned earth and dried violets. Framed by fine and polished tannins with notes of dried plums and gingerbread biscuits." Wine Enthusiast
"Plush and opulent, with a creamy chocolate edge to the concentrated minty blackberries, dark walnuts, shells and pine cones. Rich, broad and full-bodied with lots of oak now, but still very fresh and tangy. Lots of fine-grained tannins tie in the dark fruits and sweet spices on a long finish. It still needs some time for the oak to settle better. Drinkable from 2024." James Suckling
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte 2015 captivates with its mentholated bouquet, where cedar spices mingle with cloves, dried blood oranges and cinnamon-dusted black cherries. The palate is enveloped by an elegant and seamlessly silky note, while a core of racy acidity perfectly balances a dense wave of ripe red fruits. The finish is incredibly long and the tannins frame the wine without slowing its momentum. The 2015 Fieramonte is beautiful today, but also full of potential. Plus, there's no shame in bringing this beautifully shaped Amarone to the table." Vinous
"From an 8 ha vineyard at 415 m altitude. Rich aroma on the nose with a beautiful nuance of dark fruits, floral scents and sweet spices all melding together. The texture is so appealing, rich yet smooth and silky, dominating the palate with flavours of stewed blackcurrants, coffee beans, orange peel, slightly bitter medicinal herbs, juicy balsamic pepper fruit and a beguiling saltiness. It is enveloping in the best sense, yet juicy and lively, leaving a lasting impression on the palate, an absolute vitality. The tannins are rather chewy and grippy, coating the mouth and tongue, but the presentation of flavours is so precise and detailed. This wine is amazingly good and has excellent freshness." Decanter

Allegrini's top-quality Riserva Fieramonte is deeply concentrated and almost black in the glass. The palate is firm and equally concentrated, with dense waves of dark fruit, spices, toast and cinnamon. The aromatic panorama of this wine is impressive, its dimension, depth and texture make it one of the greatest wines of the appellation. Wow! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby red colour. Fragrant and expressive nose of ripe blackberries, dried plums, cinnamon stick, precious wood, milk chocolate, sultanas and dried rose petal. Great finesse and elegance on the palate, spreads oily over the tongue, with tightly woven, powerful tannins, builds for an extremely long time, with a savoury finish and light alcohol." Falstaff
"A cooler year in more recent times. This cuvée (single vineyard) was produced from 1965 to 1985, before the vineyard was infected with Esca. The vineyard was then rejuvenated and the Fieramonte was revitalised from 2011. After four years in 225-litre Liters, it is a rich, racy and throaty wine. The grapes are dried for 130-140 days, which is very long even for the region. A big wine with lots of extract, dark fruits, menthol and aniseed. Very impressive." James Suckling
"Brings a sense of finesse to an otherwise rich and concentrated, full-bodied red wine. It offers taut, fine-grained tannins as a firm frame, wrapped in a silky texture and flavours of red-hot black cherries, smoked tobacco, dried figs, cocoa powder and a savoury hint of cracked pink peppercorn. Long, fragrant finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2016 is powerful on the attack with concentrated blackberry flavours merging into macerated Bing cherries, wrapped in allspice, vanilla and a hint of savoury spice. As the wine progresses, drying violets and dark earthy notes emerge. The palate is full-bodied with concentrated baked plums, cocoa and chalk and finishes with powerful tannins and lively acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte 2016 is captivating. It opens with a minty freshness complicated by hints of tangerine and dill, giving way to mentholated black cherries and a touch of cocoa. It's cool and smooth, with an appropriate inner sweetness and racy acidity to balance it out. Polished red and blue fruits glide across the palate with ease, leaving a bitter hint of espresso and mocha that lingers towards the finish. Tactile mineral tones ground the experience, while a web of fine-grained tannins settles in, leaving a classic dry tension. The 2016 finishes with enormous length and potency. Allegrini takes the Fieramonte to new heights, the balance of this wine is otherworldly. This is not to be missed." Vinous
"Another amazing wine from Allegrini. If you didn't buy the Fiermonte last year, now's your chance to buy something just as good. The most gorgeous nose; full of flowers, chocolate truffles, red fruits and dried berries - fragrant and just so inviting, so pure too. The texture and mouthfeel are just perfect - round, enveloping, the perfect weight to give structure and body with intensity and fleshiness, but nothing is overdone or too much. Delicious crisp and fleshy fruit, wonderful minty freshness with accents of incense scent, wood spice and exotic spices before a long chalky finish with an underlying salinity. Pure, precise, clearly defined, juicy and very flavoursome. What more could you ask for? Slightly less friendly and charming than the 2015 at the same time last year, this wine has more power, opulence, vigour and boldness, but it has exceptional forward movement and freshness. It excites and captivates in equal measure from the first sip! Simply wow!" Decanter

Limitation of 1 articles per customer“Fieramonte” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2015 · 3 bottles in OWC
Allegrini's top Riserva Fieramonte presents itself deeply concentrated and almost black in the glass. The palate is firm and equally concentrated, with dense waves of dark fruits, spices, toast and cinnamon. The aromatic panorama of this wine is impressive, its dimension, depth and texture make it one of the greatest wines of the appellation. Wow! SUPERIORE.DE

The Allegrini winery, with its headquarters and vineyards in Fumane, and other vineyards in the municipalities of Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro are among the leading wine producers of Valpolicella Classica. The farm belongs to the family of the same name, which has been rooted in the area since the 16th century. The drops available on the market at reasonable prices are an expression of the history of the Valpolicella Classico area. Marilisa, Franco and Silvia, near Verona, cultivate more than a hundred hectares of their own vineyards in a picturesque setting, with great sensitivity and respect for the local wine-growing traditions. The wines, full of character and ranking at the highest level, are made exclusively from strictly selected grapes full of fragrance and elegance.
In the course of time, radical innovations in viticulture, but also in the air-drying technique of the grapes and the oenological processes in the barrel cellar were introduced in the old-established company in Veneto. The owners always had the goal in mind to get the best out of the Valpolicella's trusted quality potential. The result of Allegrini's long research activities are soft, sensual and fruity wines at world level, with the famous Amarone at the top.
Most of the historic vineyards, some of which are still built with dry stone walls, are located in the most representative areas of the Valpolicella valley. One of these is Palazzo della Torre, named after a magnificent Renaissance building acquired by the family. The soils are rich in clay and the microclimate is perfect. The legendary La Grola vineyard in the Mazzurega zone, acquired by father Giovanni, is also of considerable value, with its volcanic origins and ideal climate for growing the red varieties Corvina Veronese and Rondinella. Also the vineyard La Poja belongs to the best sites of the whole Valpolicella area. The Allegrini family has carefully studied the climatic differences and the specific characteristics of each plot of land. It has proved to be right to rehabilitate very old and poorly planted vineyards. However, not all vineyards in the estate use modern espalier planting in the Guyot system. For older sticks the traditional pergola education is maintained.
The range of the winery is complemented by the Corte Giara line. Here you can find numerous charming and very popular wines, whose characteristics are characterized by freshness and aromatic intensity. The philosophy behind it: Serious wines for uncomplicated enjoyment, which successfully reflect their origins and meet the desire of many customers for a modern style.
Therefore, as early as 1989, the Allegrini family began to sign long-term leases for qualified terroirs near Lake Garda and other suitable appellations. The vines cultivated here have been selected for their respective terroirs and needs, and thus a broad base of classic Veronese wines thrives in the Corte Giara vineyards. Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Soave and Bardolino are among them, as well as the international varieties Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot, which are widely grown in the Veneto.
The Allegrini family passes on from generation to generation their profound knowledge of viticulture and the production of the finest wines. Fumane is constantly being experimented with and modernised. All important wine critics agree in their opinion: The Azienda Agricola Allegrini ranks among the absolute top of the Italian wine world. In the 2016 edition of the prestigious Italian wine guide Gambero RossoAllegrini was awarded the title 'Winery of the year' was awarded. SUPERIORE.DE
"This company has contributed a great deal to the international reputation of Amarone, since the high quality of the wines is complemented by reasonable prices and a close-meshed distribution."Gambero Rosso
