In the year 1489 Antonio Bastiano Baroncini, rich landowner, started the winemaking in San Gimignano. Daughter Apollonia kept faithfully to the tradition of the winegrowing family. She married Michele Pesciolini, who came from a powerful noble family of San Gimignano related to the 'Medici'. So it brought the family to prestige and was able to continuously expand their possessions. Even after 500 years, the Baroncini family is still active in viticulture. Today the company is managed by Mrs Bruna and her husband Stefano.
Baroncinis farms include Fattoria Querciarossa, Poggio il Castellare in Montalcino and Tenuta Il Faggeto in the Montepulciano area. SUPERIORE.DE
