Villa di Capezzana is considered one of the longest-lived wines of Tuscany, a vertical tasting with 20 vintages went back to 1937 - none of the vintages showed signs of fatigue. The wine is fermented spontaneously and aged in large and small wooden barrels, one third of the small wood is renewed every year. Dark ruby red. Black cherries, blackberries, cassis and noble woods dominate the nose. On the palate, the wine is firm, well structured and with a long finish. Decanting recommended. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2019 Carmignano Villa di Capezzana is youthfully balanced, with dusty rose, dried black cherry and burnt orange peel on the nose. The palate is lapped by silky textures and ripe red fruits, gaining tension from a mix of saline acidity and acidic citrus notes. The tannins come through strongly on the final, coupled with a saturation of primary concentration and mineral tones as the small inner flowers slowly fade. The 2019 is packed with potential, but it needs patience." Vinous
