    • "Le Cinciole" Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 (BIO)

“Le Cinciole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 (BIO)

Floral aromas and the scent of bright red fruits, with undertones of tobacco, foliage and menthol, which evolve in the glass into a successful terroir wine that preserves the fragrance and primary aromas of young Sangiovese. Pleasantly medium-bodied and authentic. SUPERIORE.DE

"Made with organically farmed Sangiovese, this opens with subtle aromas of black-skinned berry, scorched earth and cooking spice. The savory palate offers black cherry, clove and tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

"The 2017 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous, inviting wine. Pliant fruit and soft contours give the 2017 so much immediacy and appeal. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red cherry while spice, new leather and sweet pipe tobacco infuse the 2017 with tremendous character. The 2017 is such a beautiful and inviting wine. Wow!" • "Aluigi" Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2013 (BIO)

“Aluigi” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2013 (BIO)

The deep Chianti Classico Riserva, 100 per cent Sangiovese pressed, with red berries, flowers, spices and liquorice, has a pleasantly warm aroma. On the palate an intense fruitiness with a charming, fine texture and a great balance of sweetness, acidity and tannin. SUPERIORE.DE

"Brilliant ruby with a slightly bright edge. Finely drawn nose, of violets and raspberries, in the background cherry stones and fresh hazelnuts. Round and smooth on the palate, showing a lot of sweet fruitiness, blackberries and plums, fine-meshed, present tannin, long and clear." Falstaff

"Lots of dried raspberries, ash, peppermint and cedar spring from the glass. Full body, ripe and round tannins and a medium-chewy finish." James Suckling

"Showing mid-weight consistency and a nicely saturated appearance, the 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Aluigi is a tart and tonic expression of Sangiovese with a pretty succession of wild berry, blue flower and moist chewing tobacco aromas. The wine is earthy and healthy in personality with nice brightness and intensity." Robert Parker

"The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Aluigi is a very beautiful wine. Succulent red cherry fruit, spice and floral notes abound, but it is the wine's texture and persistence that stand out most. Nuanced and silky on the palate, with terrific fruit purity, the 2013 is positively stellar. I imagine it will be even better in another few years. Even so, it is striking today." Antonio Galloni

    • "Petresco" Rosso Toscana IGT 2015 (BIO)

“Petresco” Rosso Toscana IGT 2015 (BIO)

Deep dark ruby red. Ripe notes of dried small blackcurrants and blackberries, along with some smoke and tobacco - this is Sangiovese in concentrated form. On the palate it is rich and fleshy, with a firm body, nuances of spices, multi-layered fruit and a wonderful finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"This is a very sexy red with dried blackberries, vanilla, eucalyptus and spices. Full-bodied and very structured and generous. This takes a layered approached to dark fruit and wraps it up succinctly in swathes of ripe yet chewy tannins. Drink from 2023." James Suckling

"The 2015 Petresco, the estate's top Sangiovese, is a powerful, dense wine. Even with all of its natural intensity, the 2015 possesses tremendous energy and vibrancy. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, leather, spice, menthol and sage infuse this sumptuous, potent Sangiovese. I would give the 2015 at least a few years to shed some of its baby fat. Even in the early going, though, it is super-impressive, with great depth and impeccable overall balance." Vinous

    • "Camalaione" Rosso Toscana IGT 2015 (BIO)

“Camalaione” Rosso Toscana IGT 2015 (BIO)

Camalaione - a strong cuvée of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah - smells of dark fruits, menthol, smoke, liquorice and roasted oak. Deep and dense, with excellent persistence and remarkable development in the glass. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2015 Camalaione is another exceptional wine in this range from Luca and Valeria Orsini. Wild, powerful and deeply expressive, Camalaione has so much to say. A rush of inky black cherry, crème de cassis and floral/savory notes builds effortlessly. Although Camalaione is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah and 15% Merlot, it is first and foremost a wine of place. I would prefer to cellar it for a few years, but even in the early going, it is a very special wine." Vinous

About the winemakersLe CincioleTuscany | Chianti
Le CincioleA fruitful combination of quality, tradition and landscape, in harmony with nature - this is what Luca and Valeria Orsini, owners of the Le Cinciole winery, have formulated as the most important goal of their work. The estate extends over 30 hectares at an altitude of 400 to 450 meters above sea level not far from the village of Panzano in Chianti Classico. Wine is grown on eleven hectares, some of which are located in the Conca d'Oro. An olive grove with about 1,000 trees occupies one-sixth of the total land area.

Since the purchase of the estate in 1991, the owners have invested a lot in the renewal of the vineyards with better clones. At the same time they have changed the cultivation of the vineyards to environmentally friendly methods. Since 2002 the farm has been certified according to the CE regulation for organic farming. Luca and Valeria have chosen to cultivate almost exclusively Sangiovese on their land. Both are convinced that "only this autochthonous variety can be true Chianti Classico". The Latvian soils above a massive rocky base are particularly suitable for growing the dominant grape variety. In order to preserve the authenticity of the grapes, the vines are aged in wooden barrels to a lesser extent.

The two historical wines produced at Azienda Le Cinciole are the Chianti Classico "Le Cinciole" and the Chianti Classico Riserva "Petresco". The former contains a very low percentage of Canaiolo and is aged mainly in medium-sized barrels of summer oak. The Riserva, which matures in small barriques, is obtained from a selection of the finest Sangiovese grapes from the best sites. For the "Camalaione", a plot of land has been specially created with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. According to the estate owners, this wine should also reflect the special terroir of Panzano. SUPERIORE.DE

"The location ... in conjunction with the methods of vineyard management, which are carefully adapted to the terroir, result in plants that reflect this environment in a way that is as authentic as it is unique. Gambero Rosso 2010
