"Vigna Rachtl" Sauvignon Bianco Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2016

Sauvignon Bianco Rachtl comes from a micro-location of just 0.4 hectares. It gets its fine flint and graphite nose from the porphyry soils near Unteraicha in the municipality of Völs. Very subtle on the palate with a fine salt-acid play, fresh fruit and a long lasting finish. If you can call one of the just about 2,000 bottles of this vintage your own, you can consider yourself lucky! SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling golden yellow with distinct green nuances. Very intense and appealing nose, first flint, then a potpourri of gooseberries, unripe mango, dark currants and some tomato leaves. Salty and juicy in the course, spreads for a long time, in the reverberation rich pressure." Falstaff

"Whoa. This wine is absolutely explosive in terms of its varietal purity and intensity. The typical notes of green apple, citrus and stone fruit will prove gorgeous to any extreme Sauvignon Blanc enthusiast. A case of 2016 Alto Adige Sauvignon Blanc Rachtl would make me plan a party where the outdoor table is overflowing with raw razor clams and wasabi, oysters on the half shell and a huge entrée of clams casino. Sadly, only 2,200 bottles were produced." Robert Parker

"Luminous straw-green. Boasts a lovely juicy precision to the penetrating passion fruit, gooseberry, sage and rosemary aromas and flavors. Closes very long with outstanding clarity and cut." Vinous

"A complex nose of toast and clove with spice, herbal, citrus, grass, peach even quite floral aromas. Fantastic body on the palate, rich but elegant in the mouth with mature fruit flavours. Very fresh indeed, and a long elderflower finish." Decanter
