"The 2016 Alto Adige Merlot Riserva Siebeneich offers power, aromatic intensity and a cool-climate mountain freshness all in one bottle. When it comes to Merlot, Alto Adige is in a unique position to offer extreme precision and focus thanks to the cool nights and unique Dolomitic limestone soils of the area. However, the wine is also relaxed in terms of mouthfeel, with sweet cherry and plum flavors that flood the finish. Very subtle tones of ash and crushed rock appear on the close. It ages in French oak for one year. This would be nice with roasted pork and rosemary." Robert Parker
