Founded in 1957, D'Alfonso del Sordo is probably the most important winery in the province of Foggia. At the beginning of the 2000s there was a successful renovation programme that included the 120 hectares of vineyards as well as the winery. Today, when Luigi Moio, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Foggia, studies and evaluates the situation of local viticulture, the successes of these comprehensive measures can be seen.
