Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2022
Strong ruby red colour and fresh fruity aroma. A clean, almost untouched wine that is produced entirely without the use of wood. The full, beautifully rounded taste with the slight bitter almond note in the finish is solely due to the special characteristics of the Dolcetto grape. SUPERIORE.DE

"It is very attractive with fresh dark and blue fruits along with hints of violets, dried citrus peel and cocoa, followed by a medium-bodied, structured and supple palate with crisp acidity and lively juiciness to the fruit." James Suckling
"Powerful violet colour with an almost black core. Intense aroma of ripe blueberries and blackberries on the nose, notes of violets and light spice. Soft and juicy on the palate, balanced, with well-integrated tannins and blueberry flavours on the finish." Falstaff
"Tantalising aromas of tart plums, boysenberries and wildflowers rise from the glass of this energetic and unique Barbera. The fleshy palate is fuelled by tart blue and black fruits, with a mix of spice and mouth-watering acidity on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Starting with thick concentration and inky darkness, the Luciano Sandrone 2021 Barbera d'Alba has cooked fruit aromas and some savory tones too, such as leather, spice and a hint of dusty licorice root. The style is big, and this wine is conventional with big juicy sensations. It's all very elaborate for a Barbera d'Alba, but we are talking about a vintage that naturally delivers extra concentration." Wine Advocate

This Nebbiolo comes from one of the best vineyards in the Roero and is vinified by Luciano Sandrone with the same care as a Barolo. Brilliant ruby-garnet colour. Wonderful aroma of light red fruit, mainly raspberry and cherry. Earthy on the palate with a lovely strawberry touch and an incredible amount of elegance. The fine-grained tannin is wonderfully integrated and, together with a subtle minerality, gives this Nebbiolo a race and finesse that is unrivalled. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium bright ruby red colour with garnet reflections. On the nose, juicy cherry, raspberry, violet and a slightly leathery note. Juicy, almost salty on the palate, with a beautiful fruit centre, tightly woven tannins, still youthful." Falstaff
"It is flavourful and red-fruity with citrus and hibiscus notes. Medium-bodied and crisp with a chalky texture and a lively, mineral finish." James Suckling
"The Valmaggiore from Sandrone is a benchmark wine. In this vintage, the wine leaps from the glass with aromas of macerated raspberries, tea leaves, sweet and savoury spices, rosebuds and wild herbs. The structured palate opens with ripe cherries dusted with allspice and cloves, then develops into savoury and earthy notes surrounded by fine and firm tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The Luciano Sandrone 2021 Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore shows fun aromas with something that reminds me of honey granola or protein bar with a full load of dried blueberries and raspberry piled on top. The wine offers good primary fruit, substantial weight and lots of other interesting tones to flesh it out. Those range from spice to wet earth. I love the rich approach to the palate, which remains important, but it's also elegantly balanced in this wine." Wine Advocate
"The Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore 2021 is a serious wine that needs time in the cellar to show its best side. It shows the lighter style of Nebbiolo from Roero, but with all the elements it has. I particularly admire its depth on the mid-palate and its overall resonance. Juicy red cherries, white pepper, cedar, mint and orange peel take shape in this very expressive Barolo." Vinous

Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, red berries, spices and a cornucopia of other aromas that only reveal themselves with further oxygenation. Fleshy, juicy, powerful and extremely precise and structured on the palate. At today's still very young age, one can only guess what it will become in further years of bottle ageing. A monument of wine - already today - the tannins soft, multilayered and captivating. This is the archetype of a Nebbiolo, which impressively demonstrates to every friend of the grape variety that it is not necessarily always the location, but also the quality of the grape and the subsequent wise vinification that makes it a real red and unforgettable royal wine of Italy. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby with garnet rim. Very compact nose of blackberry, blueberry and some truffle. Gripping and dense on the palate, concentrated tannin, rich fruit, lots of plum and cherry, deep and earthy on the final." Falstaff
"The 2014 Barolo Vite Talin is robust, with broad shoulders and beautiful aromas of spice and herbs. There is a fullness and generosity to its meaty notes, while it shows a more rustic side when put side by side with the 2015: The tannins here make their presence well known, and the wine has a wild side overall. The Vite Talin is a wine that has a way of responding to difficult harvests like this one. The grapes survived for a reason, and what you get here is not your classic approach to Barolo at all. This expression explores new boundaries, and it will be a hard wine to forget. This Barolo was born following 25 years of experimentation, and only 2,200 precious bottles were made." Wine Advocate
"The 2014 Barolo Vite Talin is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage. A powerful, unctuous wine, it possesses off-the-charts intensity married with striking nuance. Dark red cherry jam, plum, lavender, spice, rose petal and mint are some of the many nuances that flesh out. In 2014, the Vite Talin is a wine of extraordinary finesse, nuance and classicism. It will spend two years in 500-liter barrels and a third year in cask. Tasting the 2014, I can only wonder why the other Barolos don't get the same élevage. I won't be surprised if the 2014 one day surpasses the 2013 - it is every bit that thrilling. Wow!" Vinous

Barolo “Aleste” DOCG 2014 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
"This is our flagship wine, a Barolo recognized the world over, which we have always nourished and cared for with greatest respect. Nothing wants change. This is why I will dedicate this special wine to my grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. From now on, it will carry their names." Luciano Sandrone on his intention to rename his world-famous Barolo Cannubi Boschis "Aleste" in 2013.
This Barolo is in every respect a masterpiece of Luciano Sandrone. Not only historical product but also only Cru of the house from the famous area Cannubi in Barolo. Rich ruby, balsamic bouquet, ripe and sweet. On the palate with great smoothness, much fruit, denser tannins, very persistent finale with Burgundian elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby with a garnet shimmer. Fine and fragrant nose with notes of ripe, dark cherries and plums, in the background cloves and cinnamon. Fine-meshed, polished tannin on the palate, spreading very clear and straight, juicy, long aftertaste, with hints of cranberries." Falstaff
"Aleste used to be known as Cannubi Boschis, its vineyard of origin, but has been renamed in honour of Luciano Sandrone's grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. The nose is a model of refinement and purity, with ripe and intense red fruits. Although medium-bodied, it's threaded with fine tannins and good acidity. This spicy, lively and long tonneaux-aged wine is no blockbuster, but should age well." Decanter
"A firm and silky red with plum and berry character. Hints of spices and dark chocolate, too. Medium to full body. Powerful and structured. Needs three or four years to soften." James Suckling
"This is the second year Aleste is produced instead of Cannubi Boschis, however the grapes are exactly the same. The 2014 Barolo Aleste is named after Luciano Sandrone's grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. The 2014 is still wound up and will require extra time to find its footing. The Sandrone family lost 25% of their fruit production in this challenging harvest. The wine offers fragrant notes of wild cherry and cassis with smoke, crushed stone and candied orange peel. The tannins are firm and textured. It is the palate (more than the nose) that requires more time to soften." Wine Advocate
"The 2014 Barolo Aleste is a wine of exquisite finesse and grace. Soft, understated and classy, it is a terrific example of the vintage at its best. Bright red cherry and red plum fruit give the wine its vibrant feel. In 2014, the Aleste is decidedly medium-bodied and restrained, especially compared to recent past vintages. Readers should keep in mind that Aleste is the new name for the Cannubi Boschis Barolo." Antonio Galloni
"The cherry and strawberry aromas are tinged by hay and tobacco notes. On the palate, the core of fruit is joined by a chorus of herb, tobacco and underbrush flavors. Aggressively tannic now, but well-proportioned and long." Wine Specator
"Dried rose, blue flower, aromatic herb, wild berry and a whiff of pipe tobacco are just some of the aromas you'll find on this stunning red. It's elegant and structured, delivering raspberry compote, crushed strawberry, cinnamon and star anise framed in bright acidity and firm fine-grained tannins. It has fantastic tension and energy, and promises to age well for years." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo “Le Vigne” DOCG 2018 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
The grapes for the deep Le Vigne come from Baudana in Serralunga d'Alba (for power), Villero in Castiglione Falletto (for precision), Vignane in Barolo (for purity of aromas) and Merli in Novello (for richness of fruit). It opens wide with aromas of fresh red fruits and a delicate spicy note. Very intense on the palate, remarkably elegant, fine-grained tannins, exceedingly clear, structured and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Immensely fragrant with floral-spicy notes, almost pinot-like with small red fruits, light cherries, redcurrant, touch of orange peel. Very lively in the mouth with creamy tannins and juicy as well as surprisingly good freshness for the warm and dry vintage. Firm, still slightly dusty tannin, but healthy and fine-pored. Animatingly fresh, berry-like final. Needs at least 3 hours of air." Weinwisser
"Bright, radiant ruby garnet with a delicately lightening rim. In the nose clear of ripe raspberries, rose hips, in addition some roiboos, in the background fine earthy notes. On the palate radiant and with tight, salty tannin, stretches wide open, plus salty undertone, swinging." Falstaff
"Lustrous medium ruby. Finely perfumed and youthful on the nose with just a touch of complex oak. Lively raspberry and sour-cherry fruit layered with fine tannins. Very fine and fragrant and still a little subdued. Lots of refreshing acidity." Jancis Robinson
"The 2018 Barolo Le Vigne is a mid-weight, tightly wound wine, with a classic sense of austerity that will need at least a few years in bottle to start softening. Red cherry fruit, white flowers, mint and chalk lend brightness and tension throughout. In 2018, the blend of vineyards is Baudana, Villero, Vignane and Merli." Vinous
"Camphor, violet, red berry and oak-driven spice are front and center on this fragrant red. Elegantly structured and vibrant, the focused palate delivers juicy red cherry, crushed strawberry, star anise and a hint of mocha alongside taut, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps it balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"A taut red, with alluring aromas and flavors of rose petal, strawberry, cherry, tea and graphite fused to an elegant frame. Reveals its structure on the long finish, where there's plenty of fruit in the end. Delivers terrific balance and harmony." Wine Spectator
"The delicate mix of creamy red berries and savory, truffley notes keeps your nose glued to the glass. And that subtlety is carried over into the medium-to full-bodied palate, where there’s a youthful balance of silky fruit and lightly firm tannins that drives gently through the long finish. Subtle is the word, but excellent is the verdict. So tempting to drink now, but give it a couple of years." James Suckling
"Made with fruit from Cannubi Boschis, the Luciano Sandrone 2018 Barolo Aleste is plump and ripe, but this wine also shows a more delicate character that is its ace card. The aromas are filigreed and fine with dark fruit, spice and licorice. The effect is integrated, and the wine shows a lovely, softer personality to balance out this mildly concentrated expression." Wine Advocate
"An extra-ordinary Barolo, which recalls the old custom of blending from different areas: vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Barolo and Novello with a mix of soils. A wine of freshness, nose of red currant, hints of chinotto and eucalyptus, with licorice root finish. The mouth is dense and tense, with salty-sapid tannins and a balsamic finish." Luca Gardini

"Already in the fragrance with warming character, in addition with clear and playful-sweet fruit; robust and yet charming, very present tannin, which also comes from the wood, powerful appearance and still youthful." Weinwisser
"Powerful, bright ruby with a pronounced garnet rim. Very intense and inviting nose of truffle, rose and leather, then lots of plum, some liquorice. Juicy and full in attack and course, shows lots of ripe red berry fruit, firm, very well integrated tannin, has firm pressure in the final, very good drinking flow." Falstaff
"Just mid ruby. Gorgeous ripe red-fruit nose with a peppery edge and minerally hints of iron. Just a hint of savoury oak, but very much in the background. Lots of juice on the palate and with bags of powdery but perfectly ripe tannins. Very long sour-cherry and cranberry finish with real depth." Jancis Robinson
"Bright cherry, plum, leather, tar and underbrush flavors are the highlights of this solid red. A firm grip of tannins lines the finish, but not before the fruit builds nicely. Fine freshness, balance and length." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Barolo Le Vigne is rich, pliant and so expressive. Even so, I imagine it will need a few years to open up fully. Bright red fruit, rose petal, blood orange and spice give the 2017 its distinctly red-toned profile. Elegant and translucent, the 2017 is very nicely balanced." Vinous
"Opulent and very sexy with perfume, cedar, dried flowers and dried strawberries and just a hint of nutmeg. It’s medium-to full-bodied with round and finely velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. So seductive." James Suckling
"Fragrant and delicious, this gorgeous wine opens with inviting aromas of rose, sandalwood, camphor and perfumed berry alongside whiffs of truffle and French oak. The full-bodied palate combines elegance and structure, featuring ripe Morello cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and a dollop of vanilla alongside firm, refined tannins. It's already tempting but hold for more complexity." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo “Vite Talin” DOCG 2015 · in gift box
Vite Talin was first "born" in 2013 and the story goes back to 1987, when Luciano Sandrone found a vine in one of his vineyards whose grapes were barely half the size of the other plants around it. Luciano decided to grow several shoots from this plant and distributed them among three of his vineyards. Today, in its third vintage, Vite Talin is still probably the most spectacular red in the entire Barolo appellation, with a total production of just 2,000 bottles.
Vite Talin is almost indescribable, it is a paragon of the opposites of transparency and power - and an unprecedented expression of a Barolo that cannot be compared with the usual standards of the region. Its complexity, the never-ending reverberation and the linear intensity and at the same time extreme fineness on all levels require a very intensive study of this wine, which is ultimately rewarded in the most exquisite way.
A monument of wine - already today - the tannins soft, complex and captivating. This is the archetype of a Nebbiolo, which impressively demonstrates to every friend of the grape variety that it is not necessarily always the location, but also the quality of the grape and the subsequent wise vinification that makes it a real red and unforgettable royal wine of Italy. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense shiny ruby garnet. Multi-layered nose of dark rose petals, ripe plum and wild raspberry, plus a fine liquorice note, exciting. Hearty and gripping on the palate, very much dense, grippy tannin, builds up for a long time, juicy fruit, reverberates for a very long time, full pressure, very much development potential." Falstaff
"Complex aromas of dried strawberries, iron, mushrooms and dried flowers follow through to a full yet very tight and reserved body with racy, firm tannins that are energetic. Still needs time to soften." James Suckling
"The 2015 Barolo Vite Talin has really shut down since I tasted it last year, which is probably a very good thing for its long-term prospects. Radiant and lush on the palate, the 2015 marries fruit intensity with structure to great effect. Far from an easygoing Barolo, the 2015 is going to need the better part of a decade to be at its best and most expressive; but still, the 2015 is super impressive today." Vinous
"A dense, muscular red, saturated with plum, cherry, licorice, menthol and iron flavors. The burly tannins gain the upper hand on the finish for now, yet this shows balance and the freshness and structure should develop beautifully." Wine Spectator
"You'll have to wait until 2021 for this release, but it absolutely will reward your patience. What an exceptionally fine creation this is, the 2015 Barolo Vite Talin. It is soft and generous, with great concentration, and the dark fruit shows more fleshiness in the mouth. The tannins have become softer in the 2015 edition. While the 2014 could be described as wild and robust with its spicy, herbal and meaty notes, this Barolo Vite Talin is all about elegance. It is simply beautiful, a feather in any cellar's cap. A mere 2,200 bottles were made." Wine Advocate
"Camphor, pressed rose, red berries, dried botanical herbs and a whiff of fruitcake are just some of the aromas you'll find on this drop-dead gorgeous wine. Full-bodied and focused, the compelling palate shows mesmerizing tension, structure and finesse, delivering ripe Marasca cherry, raspberry compote, cinnamon and licorice before a tobacco finish. Noble tannins and fresh acidity provide ample support and balance. Drink 2023–2045." Wine Enthusiast

"Still a bit closed, but with a distinct mineral, spicy undertone and just a hint of oak. Very youthful fruit driven by plenty of lively acidity and lots of enveloping tannins, but the balance is perfectly struck." Jancis Robinson
"This is a densely built red wine with aromas and flavours of flowers, cherries, iron, earth and scrub. It is powerful, with the austerity characteristic of the vintage and a strong grip on the finish. The tannins give it a compact feel on the finish, but it lingers with a core of pure fruit." Wine Spectator
"This wine begins shy but turns it out quickly with aromas of warmed cherries, fresh wildflowers, anise, clove and black tea. The balanced palate reveals a core of fruit with savory and earthy elements in support, all resting on a foundation of polished tannins and vibrant acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Very aromatic with hibiscus, crab apple, orange blossom and ripe strawberries on the nose. Full-bodied, very layered and powerful, yet it remains very finely structured with an intense finish. A little more structured than before." James Suckling
"The 2019 Barolo Le Vigne is a pure and total seduction. Cherry, sweet pipe tobacco, mint, cedar, dried herbs and orange peel adorn a Le Vigne built on a medium-bodied structure and energy. A sense of youthful classicism and austerity that is so beguiling. harvestshould be patient, though. The 2019 won't be ready to drink anytime soon, but it has enough fruit to make me think it will be great with time." Vinous
"The 2019 Barolo Le Vigne is a historic blend of fruit from Baudana in Serralunga d'Alba, Villero in Castiglione Falletto, Vignane in Barolo and Merli in Novello. The backbone of this wine is Baudana, and Merli gives it freshness. The wine still needs some time in the bottle, but already it shows generosity and boldness with dark fruits, spices and crushed minerals." Wine Advocate
"An impeccable Barolo that takes up the custom of blending from different areas: Serralunga d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Barolo and Novello vineyards, raspberry on the nose, hints of chinotto and eucalyptus, liquorice root on the finish. In the mouth density and tension, salty-spicy tannins, balsamic finish." Luca Gardini
"Bright, noble ruby red with a discreetly lightening rim. In the nose initially noble earthy notes of truffle, then candied cherry, a hint of sealing wax, anchovies, rosemary, reverberating on graphite. On the palate with compact tannin, very punchy, comes along in many layers, endlessly long, salty and juicy." Falstaff

The history of Vite Talin goes back to 1987, when Luciano Sandrone found a vine in one of his vineyards whose grapes were just half the size of the other plants around it. Luciano decided to grow several shoots from this plant and distributed them across three of his vineyards. Today, now in its fourth vintage, Vite Talin is still one of the most spectacular reds in the entire Barolo appellation, with a total production of just 2,000 bottles.
Vite Talin is almost indescribable, it is a paragon of the opposites of transparency and power - and an unprecedented expression of a Barolo that cannot be compared with the usual standards of the region. Its complexity, the never-ending aftertaste and the linear intensity and extreme finesse at all levels require a very intensive study of this wine, which is ultimately rewarded in the most excellent way.
Intense ruby red with garnet-red reflections. On the nose, red berries, spices and a cornucopia of other flavours that only reveal themselves with further oxygenation. Fleshy, juicy, powerful and extremely precise and structured on the palate. At this still very young age, one can only imagine what it will become in further years of ageing in the bottle. A monument of a wine - even today - the tannins are soft, complex and captivating. This is the archetype of a Nebbiolo, which impressively demonstrates to every friend of the grape variety that it is not necessarily only the location, but also the nature of the grape and the subsequent intelligent ageing that makes it a true red and unforgettable royal wine of Italy. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich and opulent flavours of dried berries, strawberries, toasted oak and dried meat. Full-bodied, very rich and powerful with lots of fruit and dried oak. Also coffee beans. Multi-layered and lush. Old school. But impressive." James Suckling
"A fiercely tannic red highlighted by black cherry, blackberry, plum, tar, eucalyptus and amaro aromas and flavors. Delivers a granular texture along with generous concentrated fruit, yet the tannins become better integrated on the finish." Wine Spectator
"An abundance of gorgeous red and black fruits, sweet and savoury spices and dried flowers make this wine very aromatic and lush. The palate is dense with spiced cherries, plums and crushed raspberries, dusted with cloves, cinnamon and vanilla. The powerful tannins give the wine a certain seriousness, finishing with a deep-rooted earthiness and acidity. An important wine." Wine Enthusiast
"This wine is made from a new clone of Nebbiolo identified by the Sandrone family. The Barolo Vite Talin 2017 now occupies the top position in the family's portfolio. They note that the berry size is only half that of a normal Nebbiolo and the wine is therefore more concentrated and denser. This hot vintage delivers a lot of extra power and fruit weight with pressed blackberries, earth, tobacco, clay, autumnal leaves, iodine and candied orange." Wine Advocate
"The Barolo Vite Talin 2017 is a real eye-catcher. Dark, rich and sensual, the Vite Talin captures all the natural richness of the highly viralised, low-yielding clone that the Sandrone family propagates in their plots in Le Coste and Rivasi, both in Barolo. Super-ripe dark cherries, plums, spices, cedar, tobacco and kirsch can be found in this explosive, intoxicating Barolo. The 2017 is simply a top-class wine. Outstanding." Vinous

Barolo “Aleste” DOCG 2017 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
"This is our flagship wine, a Barolo recognised the world over, which we have always nourished and cared for with greatest respect. Nothing will change. This is why I will dedicate this special wine to my grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. From now on, it will carry their names." Luciano Sandrone on his intention to rename his world-famous Barolo Cannubi Boschis "Aleste" with the 2013 vintage.
This Barolo is a masterpiece by Luciano Sandrone in every respect. Not only a historic product but also the only cru of the house from the renowned Cannubi area in Barolo. Rich ruby, balsamic bouquet, ripe and sweet. On the palate with great suppleness, lots of fruit, dense tannins, very persistent final with Burgundian elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby garnet. Seductive nose with rich notes of leather, ripe plums with deep yellow flesh, rosewood, some liquorice in the background. Hearty and gripping on the palate, spreads out richly, powerful body, lots of gripping, compact tannin." Falstaff
"Lustrous mid ruby. Still a little compact but already showing great depth of fruit with hints of fresh mint, iron and oatmeal. Gorgeous juicy, full, red fruit with a rich layer of powdery tannins. Still a little embryonic, but sensationally balanced for this challenging year." Jancis Robinson
"Balsamic aromas and flavors of mint, eucalyptus and sage dominate the cherry and berry notes in this linear red. There is a contradiction and tension now between its graceful entry and dense, muscular finish. Nonetheless, this is long and finds an equilibrium in the end." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Barolo Aleste is a dark, ample wine. Dark cherry, plum, new leather, spice and licorice bring out darker tones of Nebbiolo. All the natural power of these parcels come through effortlessly. Best of all, the 2017 will drink well with minimal cellaring." Vinous
"The purity and brightness of nebbiolo is so impressive here. Strawberries and blue fruit abound. Full-bodied, yet tight and very polished with a long, persistent finish. Very transparent and appealing." James Suckling
"Aromas of menthol, pressed rose, wild berry and grilled herb are front and center in this stunning wine along with a whiff of forest floor. Combining structure and finesse, the savory, full-bodied palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, blood orange and licorice before an espresso finish. Firm, refined tannins provide tight support." "The warm vintage shows itself in concentrated, wonderfully ripe fruit, but without going into over-ripeness. A duet of red and black cherries marry beautifully with the typical spicy and territorial notes. Concentrated and densely woven with initially somewhat powerful tannins that still need some time to fully integrate and round off. The assets, however, are very promising." Weinwisser
"Bright, radiant ruby garnet. In the nose great expression, of ripe raspberries, some rose hips, also reminiscent of wild strawberries, in addition noble leather and cigar box, reminiscent of graphite in the finish. Juicy and precise on the palate, opens with tension and a tightly woven tannin dress, swings along finely." Falstaff
"Mid Ruby. Great depth, precision and concentration, and vivid acidity framing the youthful raspberry fruit, which still needs to come out further on the palate. Firm but polished tannins. A finely balanced whole that still needs more bottle age. The subtlest of oak notes on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Fragrant purple flower, woodland berry and menthol aromas form the nose along with whiffs of spice. The elegant, medium-bodied palate offers juicy pomegranate, red currant and oak-driven spice set against an acidic backbone. Taut, fine-grained tannins leave a drying close." Wine Enthusiast
"Dried red berries and dried flowers, almost tobacco on the nose. Citrus and minty notes add character. Medium-to full-bodied, elegant and silky palate that thickens out with fine, creamy tannins as it progresses. Super texture to this, gently coating the palate. Rather firmer just at the end for now. Really refined and elegant." James Suckling
"An open-knit Barolo highlighted by plum, cherry, leather and tar flavors. Supple in texture before firming up, with dusty, refined tannins lingering on the finish. This should evolve nicely with some bottle age." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barolo Aleste is gorgeous, but also very quite today. There's terrific purity to the dark red/purplish fruit and a good bit of volume too, but readers will have to be patient. Bright acids and firm tannins lend energy. I admire the presence and texture here. The Aleste, from Cannubi Boschis, benefits from a site that can handle moisture. This is nicely done." Wine Advocate
"South-eastern side of the Cannubi hill, a great classic of Sandrone in its classic version of finesse and persistence. Black cherry on the nose, with hints of cinnamon and eucalyptus. The mouthfeel is juicy and dense, with a return of fruit and sweet spices, rightly tannic, with a nice balsamic tension." Luca Gardini

"Brilliant and of medium ruby colour. Deep, complex, brooding fruit with salty notes. Fantastic lightness combined with substance and energetic acidity. Long, polished and fine tannins. A finely tuned whole that needs more time." Jancis Robinson
"An integrated and well-crafted Barolo with floral and lemon zest in the cherry and strawberry aromas. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins and a linear drive. Taut and muscular. Well formed." James Suckling
"This red tends more towards aromas of black cherries, blackberries and violets, with tar, tea and autumn forest accents lurking beneath the surface. It is firm, dense and lingers on the sinewy finish. Combines elegance with power, but needs time." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barolo Aleste is another outstanding wine from Sandrone. Dark cherry, mocha, plum, liquorice and lavender all race across the palate. This racy but youthfully austere Barolo has a lot going for it. It has more density and a darker profile than the Le Vigne, a soloist in the Le Vigne orchestra, so to speak." Vinous
"Aleste is a contraction of the names Alessia and Stefano, grandchildren of the late Luciano Sandrone. With fruit from Cannubi Boschis, the 2019 Barolo Aleste shows important richness and structure. This is the proverbial Barolo with a capital B. It shows dense layers of dark fruits, cherries and spices. It shows sweet tannins and an impressive texture." Wine Advocate
"The nose of Aleste is beguiling and seductive with aromas of wild red and black fruits, cloves, anise, roses and wild herbs. Although generous, the wine holds back a little and asks you to cellar it. Black cherries, oolong tea, wild flowers and sandalwood show up on the palate in the most beautiful way." Wine Enthusiast
"Brilliant ruby grant, with a luminous core and delicately brightening rim. Fine, delicately stony scent on the nose, very discreetly of ripe raspberries, sugared cherries and fine earthy tones. On the palate very compact and very powerful, with rich, grippy tannin, comes along in very many layers, enormous length and structure, currently still a bit young on the finish." Falstaff
"Southeast side of the Cannubi hill, a great Sandrone classic with finesse and persistence. Black cherry on the nose, with hints of cinnamon and nuances of eucalyptus. The mouth is juicy and dense, with a fruity return and sweet spices, with lovely balsamic tension." Luca Gardini

Cherry, sweet pipe tobacco, mint, cedar, dried herbs and orange peel grace a Le Vigne built on a medium-bodied structure and energy.

Sandrone wines are indisputably among the best in the entire Barolo growing area. The winemaker Luciano Sandrone was considered a dynamic innovator, he learned the art of winemaking as an oenologist at Marchesi di Barolo. In 1970 he acquired his first vineyard. Seven years later, Sandrone bought a first section of the Cannubi hill and began to press grape juice from his own grapes. Even during his lifetime, the winemaker could be called a modernist among traditionalists, as he opted for shorter maceration and aging times, but also, in some cases, for new barrels.
Luciano Sandrone - supported by daughter Barbara as well as his brother and vineyard manager Luca - succeeded in endowing the Barolo site wines with a power and character that went beyond purely oenological aspects. Luciano Sandrone passed away in January 2023, and since then his daughter Barbara and brother Luca have carefully, yet passionately, preserved his great legacy. With Barbara's daughter Alessia, who studied oenology in Alba, and her brother Stefano, who will also join the family business after his studies, the next generation is already ready to follow in Luciano's great footsteps and continue his work. Sandrone's style will certainly remain personal and highly recognizable. Power and elegance enter into a harmonious symbiosis, the typical taste is recognizable very early. Nevertheless, the noble drops from the house Sandrone are very profound and long-lasting. The work in the vineyard is biological-organic. The family has not had the type of cultivation certified, because they do not want to be suspected of only wanting to swim on the organic wave.
All vineyards or parcels are first vinified individually and only later blended if necessary. Both Cannubi Boschis and Le Vigne are matured for two years in 500-litre barrels only, after being left to stand for around ten days. Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto are matured in the same way, only with shorter barrel ageing.
The new company headquarters built in 1998 at the foot of the Cannubi hill is characterised by its practicality, environmental friendliness and careful execution down to the last detail. Shortly before the turn of the millennium, Sandrone also began to build up a stock of older vintages with the three wines Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore, Barolo Le Vigne and Barolo Cannubi Boschis. These wines are sold in strictly limited quantities under the name "sibi et paucis". They bear a stamp that documents that the wines have been stored for at least ten years under optimal conditions. SUPERIORE.DE
"Luciano Sandrone's winery is undeniably one of the world's best-known and most respected brands of quality wine. Starting with the famous Barolo Cannubi Boschis in 1989 and 1990, the house's history of fame has known no standstill." Gambero Rosso
