• Radici Taurasi Riserva DOCG 2011
MAGNUM in OWC

Radici Taurasi Riserva DOCG 2011 · MAGNUM in OWC

Bright, powerful ruby, aromas of cherry, red currant, cocoa and tar. Juicy, spicy and bright, with firm acidity and tight tannins that give it definition and lift the aromas. Very fresh and precise, persistent and smooth. Has excellent potential. When tasting decades-old wines from the house of Mastroberardino (back to the century 1928), it becomes clear: the wines are monumental, immortal or at least for eternity. SUPERIORE.DE

"A dry and aromatic red, with accents of cured tobacco and pencil shavings to the flavors of baked raspberry, licorice snap and tarry smoke. Well-knit and balanced, this is full-bodied, with dense tannins firming the finish. Give this some time in the cellar to shine." Wine Spectator

This exceptional Merlot from northern Italy is still in the state of unbridled energy for a few years and will thank you for further maturation in your wine cellar with a lot of elegance and depth. SUPERIORE.DE

"This elegant red is bright and expressive, with graphite, black licorice and bay leaf aromatics accenting the cassis and plum pudding flavors. Firmed by creamy tannins, this is well-meshed and balanced, presenting a lasting finish of fruit, herb and mocha. Merlot. Drink now through 2027." Wine Spectator

    • "Camartina" Rosso Toscana IGT 2011 (BIO)

“Camartina” Rosso Toscana IGT 2011 (BIO)

Camartina presents itself sparkling ruby, with opulent fragrant bouquet of cloves, lots of blackberry fruit, some chocolate. On the palate very much juicy fruit, spicy notes, underlaid by grippy tannin, very clear and long. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright ruby with violet shimmer. Opened with a fine spicy note of cinnamon and cloves, with some cherry in the background. Juicy and salty in the base and course, opens with a pithy, slightly sandy tannin, firm pressure in the finish." Falstaff

"The 2011 Camartina is rich, layered and exquisite in the glass. Fine, silky tannins provide the backdrop as this super-refined, polished Tuscan red shows off its personality. These hillside vineyards above Greve often yield wines of total finesse. That is certainly the case here. The 2011 Camartina isn't a blockbuster, instead it is a wine that impresses for its balance and overall harmony." Antonio Galloni

“Geremia” Rosso Toscano IGT 2012 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC

Geremia from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon smells intensely of currants and black cherries, leather, spices and liquorice. On the palate lush and flowing, all elements merge to a great, distinctive wine. Great potential! SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, rich ruby with violet shimmer. Opened in the nose with an intense cloud of rich cassis, raspberries and blackberries, very memorable, some cedar wood. On the palate much gripping, dense tannin, builds up full, substance and firm, looks still very young, has a long life before itself! Falstaff

"Lots of blackberry, black currant and mineral aromas that follow through to a full body, that's tight and silky. Shows pretty length and texture. Very finely crafted." James Suckling

"Shows more finesse than power, featuring well-defined flavors of black cherry, currant, tobacco and tea. The finish is beefy, with tealike tannins holding court." Wine Spectator

"The 2012 Geremia is the highlight in this range, and also one of the best wines I tasted during my recent trip through Chianti Classico. Deep, dense and brooding, the 2012 is another wine that will require considerable time to come into focus. Today it possesses exceptional depth, power and intensity, all of which will allow it to age effortlessly for many years. With time in the glass, scents of lavender, sage, menthol and licorice start to open up, but the 2012 needs time. This is an absolutely stellar wine from Rocca di Montegrossi and proprietor Marco Ricasoli-Firidolfi." Antonio Galloni

Dark ruby red, in the Bouquet aromas of ripe, red fruits and a fine wood spice. Elegant, soft, complex and fresh, the taste is exuberant and very flattering. A masterpiece from the Basilicata! SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2013 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo offers a rich and savory interpretation. The wine reveals earthy notes of freshly tilled earth and button mushroom and it also shows autumnal layers of crushed leaf and black currant. Together, these various elements come together in smooth harmony. The fruit element at the back is a good guarantee of the wine's future aging potential. The finish offers solid tannins and earthy grittiness." Robert Parker

"Bright ruby. Piercing aromas of sour red cherry, black currant, violet and lavender. Then dense, sweet and complex, offering very pure mineral, deep plum and smoky berry flavors that have an almost metallic, steely quality. A wine of remarkable balance and finesse, but also powerful and concentrated. Absolutely gorgeous wine confirming the 2013 vintage to be a great one for Aglianico del Vulture." “Taber” Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018 · MAGNUM

For years, the red top Riserva of the Bolzano Winery has undisputedly been the Lagrein Taber with a fine bouquet of wild berry fruit, herbal aromas and spicy notes. Taber is a dense, full-bodied wine carried by a pleasant acidity and silky tannins, finishing with notes of candied fruit. A top wine from over 80-year-old vines of the Taberhof near Gries and virtually every year an aspirant to the "Tre Bicchieri" of the Gambero Rosso. The best Lagrein Riserva in South Tyrol? Find out! SUPERIORE.DE

"Very dense, concentrated nose with lots of dark fruit, exotic spices, dark dark chocolate, ripe blueberries and dark spicy notes, liquorice. Despite the fullness with quite cool beginnings. In the mouth, the powerful Lagrein is very creamy, with an almost chocolatey texture and round, pleasing and melting in the best sense, an elegant delight with fine, acidity and noticeable, sweetish tannins, but also with a nice draw and freshness. Still too young. Let it lie." Weinwisser

"Rich, impenetrable ruby violet. Intense nose with notes of elderberries and blueberries, spicy background, plus some dark chocolate. Hearty and grippy on the palate, showing plenty of pithy tannin with a supple core, lots of fresh juicy fruit, elderberries and black cherries, lingers long." Falstaff

"Plush aromas of wood smoke, aromatic herb, plum, fig, and cedar, palate of black cherry and dark chocolate." Decanter

"Pouring from the bottle with an exceptionally dark and inky appearance, the 2018 Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva Taber is super rich and succulent. You could pair it with spicy barbecued ribs, given the softness of the tannins and the broad, velvety appeal of the mouthfeel. Dark fruit, plum and ripe blackberry ride long on the finish. There is a playful note of sweetness on the close." Robert Parker

Dark ruby red, in the Bouquet aromas of ripe, red fruits and a fine wood spice. Elegant, soft, complex and fresh, the taste is exuberant and very flattering. A masterpiece from the Basilicata! SUPERIORE.DE

"Here's another great vintage from Elena Fucci, the ascending star of a rising wine region in the deep south of Italy. The 2015 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo shows a dark garnet color and robust appearance. Very characteristic of this extreme territory, this is a dark and penetrating wine with etched mineral notes behind blackberry, plum and savory spice. This vintage presents an even darker quality of fruit. In the mouth, you get iron, blood and dark mineral nuances that are absolutely typical of these darkened volcanic soils." Robert Parker

"Fresh and well-meshed, this is a medium- to full-bodied red, with creamy tannins and a rich note of smoke-tinged mineral underscoring the lovely range of ripe black cherry, dried thyme and fig cake flavors and hints of ground cumin and white pepper. This is round and finely balanced, with a long, lingering finish that echoes the spice and mineral detail." Wine Spectator

"Elena Fucci crafts one single wine. The piercing and focused Titolo exudes incense, violet, dark earth and black cherry. Volcanic soil translates with vibrant energy. Muscular rather than plump and built to last." Decanter

    • Brunello di Montalcino "Poggio al Vento" Riserva DOCG 2013 (BIO)

Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio al Vento” Riserva DOCG 2013 (BIO)

Delicate garnet reflexes enliven the classic ruby, and the bouquet combines aromas of ripe cherries with notes reminiscent of tobacco and medicinal herbs to create a complex harmony. The taste, interspersed with flawlessly fine tannins, gains an almost sensational fullness in the course of time and is supported by a good acid component. A Riserva like from a picture book. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, intense garnet red. Very inviting and intense nose of cranberries and pomegranate, some saffron, juicy, fresh cherry. Pithy, very well placed tannin on the palate, fine sweet melt, echoes for a long time, very juicy, has potential for many years." Falstaff

"This shows ripeness and richness of fruit. It’s full-bodied with juicy fruit and a savory finish. Verges on jammy, yet there’s tension and freshness with orange-peel and floral undertones." James Suckling

"Broad shouldered and firmly structured with expressive aromas and flavors of red cherry, flint, blackberry reduction and underbrush. Finishes very long and saline; strikes me as one of the more refined, lightweight versions of Poggio al Vento in years. Lovely wine, and commendably, very much in style of the vintage. I expect this to improve considerably in the years to come: well done." Vinous

"Aromas of underbrush, wild berry, leather, camphor and Mediterranean herb waft out of the glass. The full-bodied palate is still young and primary but shows great aging potential, delivering juicy red cherry, pomegranate, licorice and tobacco set against firm tannins while bright acidity keeps it balanced." Wine Enthusiast

"The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento sets this venerable Riserva program squarely back on track thanks to its balanced intensity and classic lines. Like in the other Sangiovese-based wines from this historic Montalcino estate, this wine is distinguished by those estate-specific savory and sanguine notes that recall rusty nail or iron, all followed by balsam herb, powdered licorice and even a touch of eucalyptus oil. The wine's texture is medium in weight and ultimately this expression is more buoyant in mouthfeel than you might initially expect of a wine that has aged for this long." Robert Parker

“Montevetrano” Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2013 · MAGNUM in OWC

Montevetrano is the wine that has become superlative: dark ruby-violet-red color, complex, powerful, very elegant fragrance, full of blackberries and currants with balsamic-spicy notes of laurel and black pepper. The taste is as elegant as the finesse, wide, extremely fine, full and warm, with a firm but at the same time soft tannin structure. SUPERIORE.DE

"This is a famous red that delivers depth and finesse. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a wonderful finish of blackberry, cocoa and spices including black peppercorns. One of the best Montevetranos in years." James Suckling

"Intense aromas of red-skinned berry, fragrant blue flower, Oriental spice and a whiff of graphite take center stage. The taut, chewy palate doles out Marasca cherry, blackberry, anise, mocha and a peppery note alongside bright acidity and polished, fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

"The 2013 Montevetrano was a little shut down when I tasted it. This blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 30% Aglianico starts off slowly but it does reach full speed with a few quick swirls of the glass. Some 30,000 bottles were made. The wine opens to a dark garnet color with thick concentration of dark pigments. The bouquet needs a little patience before it shows a complete bouquet of rose, spice, dark chocolate and dried blackberry aromas." Robert Parker

    • Barolo Lazzarito DOCG 2011

      Barolo Lazzarito DOCG 2011

Top-class, complex and modern Barolo from Serralunga: Elegant, complex bouquet of cherries and blueberries, the full-bodied taste is of considerable density and length, perfectly integrates the tannins. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling ruby with a garnet shimmer. Fine and fragrant nose, opens with notes of coriander and cinchona bark, then lots of rose petals, cherry and raspberry. Stoffig and full on the palate, opens with much hearty, present tannin, deep, present dark berry fruit, long reverberation, a late fuse!" Falstaff

"The 2011 Barolo Lazzarito is a landmark wine and one of the best expressions made region-wide in this challenging vintage. The bouquet is gorgeous thanks to the never-ending aromas of dark fruit, licorice and balsam herb that peel off the top. The Lazzarito vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba is characterized by thick soils and deep shifts between daytime and nighttime temperatures. These are important factors that lead to quality fruit despite the summer heat." Robert Parker

"The 2011 Barolo Lazzarito is fabulous in this vintage. Rich, ample and structured, the 2011 is both opulent and savory in style. Iron, plums, dark red cherries, smoke, licorice and tobacco meld together in a remarkably harmonious young Serralunga Barolo. This is the first year the Vietti Lazzarito includes a second recently acquired parcel, which may be one of the factors that influences quality, but at the same time, the Lazzarito has been the most improved Barolo in the range. All the elements come together in the 2011, a wine that has it all. This is a great showing from the Lazzarito. Best of all, readers won't have to wait forever to enjoy this beautiful, pedigreed Barolo." Antonio Galloni

    • Brunello di Montalcino "Poggio all'Oro" Riserva DOCG 2010

Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio all’Oro” Riserva DOCG 2010

Large Brunello riserva from the same vintage, beautifully balanced and with a classic spicy fragrance. In the taste typical blackberry and sour cherry aromas. Opulent and rich in extract, full and enveloping, with a powerful tannin density and plenty of stamina in the finals. SUPERIORE.DE

"Only made in the best vintages, this wine represents the pinnacle of Castello Banfi's quality production. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio All'Oro is a stunning achievement and will serve as a benchmark for this estate's future endeavors. The bouquet delivers both power and elegance with dried cherry, grilled herb and delicate layers of spice. This ensemble is seamless and balanced. The wine makes a statement without speaking in a loud voice and that's what I like best about this Brunello. In the mouth, this young wine offers a fresh fruit presentation that promises to evolve slowly. The solid tannic structure and the wine's fresh acidity will also contribute to its longevity." Robert Parker

"A riserva with so much structure and tension. A full body that shows dried fruit and mushroom flavors. Walnut soil, too. So long and powerful. A glorious wine. Wine for the long term." James Suckling

    • Barolo Ravera DOCG 2011

      Barolo Ravera DOCG 2011

Barolo Ravera represents the more traditional style of winemaking at Vietti. Graphite and iron aromas, with fruity sweet notes of cherry and raspberry, leather and black tea. Intense fruit with complex structure and beautifully interwoven tannin. Powerful and exceptionally stylish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Bright, intense ruby garnet. Fine nose with notes of raspberry and dark roses, flint and truffle in the background. On the palate very present, shows much fruit, at the same time fine-meshed, dense tannin, which still tolerates some storage, has very good potential, long finish." Falstaff

"The 2011 Barolo Ravera opens to a pretty garnet color and dark ruby luminosity. The wine delivers tight concentration and a fine texture that adheres closely to the palate. Blackberry, cassis, spice, leather and tobacco emerge from the glass. Barolo Ravera also offers an earthy tone of white truffle or porcino mushroom. Soft oak density and thick fruit extract give the wine beautiful, full-bodied appeal. Give it ten more years of cellar aging to lose the baby fat." Robert Parker

"The 2011 Barolo Ravera is once again the most vibrant and nuanced of the Vietti Barolos. Freshly cut flowers, crushed rocks, mint and bright red stone fruits are all shaped by a very classic sense of mineral-inflected drive that is such a Ravera signature. The 2011 is a more than worthy follow up to the epic 2010. It's great to see this high-altitude district in Novello finally getting its due." Antonio Galloni

"Cherry and plum flavors permeate this rich, powerful red. Accented by menthol and leather, this is balanced and fresh, with a lingering aftertaste of mineral and tobacco." Wine Spectator

"Engaging scents of wild berry, rose petal, aromatic herb and spice lead the nose. The full-bodied palate slowly reveals red cherry, anise, black pepper, clove and tobacco framed in assertive tannins and bright acidity. Give this time to fully open and develop." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo Ravera DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM in OWC

Single vineyard Barolo Ravera from 40 to 50 year old vines smells pure and intense of raspberries, strawberries and flowers. Full-bodied and silky on the palate, beautiful fruit, super-fine tannins and a wonderful length. SUPERIORE.DE

"Lustrous mid ruby. Like the 2015 Cascina Nuova, but amplified. Great lift and focus of ripe red fruit. Ripe palate with zippy, crunchy red fruit and polished tannins. Very long, satisfying and mouth-filling without being heavy, and with intense, perfumed red fruit building up on the finish." Jancis Robinson

"Soaring aromatics make a strong opening statement in the 2015 Barolo Ravera. Bright, precise and finely sculpted, the Ravera captures all the best the 2015 vintage has to offer. Kirsch, sweet mint, hard candy and expressive floral notes are given an extra kick of inner sweetness from the natural energy of Ravera. There is so much to look forward to as the 2015 develops in bottle. This is a stellar showing" VINOUS

"This is tightly structured and dense, with burly tannins wrapped around cherry, plum, licorice, tar and menthol flavors. It’s difficult to see where this is going today, but the finish is long and will need considerable time to hit its stride." Wine Spectator

"The 2015 Barolo Ravera shows a deep concentration and dark fruit intensity. This warm-vintage Barolo opens with a ripe and soft bouquet that brings out some nice cherry notes with creamy black fruit at the back. The finish is soft and luscious. There is so much fruity succulence here that the wine should stand up to a gamey dish of liver pâté or pasta with wild boar." Robert Parker

"Beautifully pure and seamless Barolo with superb balance. Bright strawberry and floral aromas and attractive sweet spices, leading to a palate with assertive, juicy tannins that carry rich, fresh red-plum and cherry flavor. Power with elegance." James Suckling

"New leather, balsamic herb, rose, truffle and woodland berry aromas take shape in the glass along with a whiff of charcuterie. The focused, savory palate has a great depth of flavor, doling out raspberry compote, cinnamon, crushed mint and a hint of cocoa alongside a backbone of firm tannins and fresh acidity. It still needs time to fully develop." Wine Enthusiast

Top-class, complex and modern Barolo from Serralunga: Elegant, complex bouquet of cherries and blueberries, the full-bodied taste is of considerable density and length, perfectly integrates the tannins. SUPERIORE.DE

"A rich ruby with a garnet shimmer. Presents itself in the nose with notes of liquorice, truffle and rosewood, then a lot of plum, in the background liquorice. On the palate, it is striking, very substantial, deep, ripe fruit and earthy notes, opens with taut tannins in many layers, in the finish firm pressure, salty and long". Falstaff

"This Barolo offers the trademark power and integrity that is so distinctive of wines made in Serralunga d'Alba. The 2012 Barolo Lazzarito delivers muscle, brawn, and an endearing sense of confidence and determination. The is a lovely interpretation that opens to dark fruit aromas that are sharply framed by spice, tobacco, tilled earth and cooling menthol. The overall effect is generous, well-structured and full-bodied. This wine is poised to age over the next twenty years." Robert Parker

"The 2012 Barolo Lazzarito impresses for its precision and class, two qualities that aren't easy to find in wines from this Serralunga site. Iron, smoke and white pepper lift from the glass in a vertical, structured Barolo endowed with real pedigree. A rush of pomegranate, red cherry jam, wild flowers and blood orange meld into the huge, bright finish. In 2012, the Lazzarito reconciles power and finesse like few vintages in the past. For the last few years, the Lazzarito has been knocking on the door of the big boys in this lineup, the Rocche and Ravera. Today, the Lazzarito makes a strong statement that it has arrived." • Barolo Brunate DOCG 2012

      Barolo Brunate DOCG 2012

Barolo Brunate is a generous, full-bodied wine with feminine aromas of sweet berries and milk chocolate, very balsamic and round. The taste flows with a lot of fruit, beautiful intensity and great openness. Firmly structured with silky tannins, elegant and fresh finish. SUPERIORE.DE

"It's hard not to fall in love with the 2012 Barolo Brunate. This is an uneven vintage across the appellation, but Vietti has managed to harness the very best side of the grape during this growing season. The wine is densely concentrated and rich with black cherry, cassis and spice. It shows firm structure at the back with elegantly polished and fine-tuned tannins. The wine is almost approachable now (in another five years), but is more suitable for longer bottle aging." Robert Parker

"The aromas of licorice, violets and bramble berries impress. Full body, incredible length and texture. Lasts for minutes on the palate." James Suckling

Young and fresh, rich ruby garnet, complex, very aromatic bouquet, strong tannin, lots of fruit, fine melt, cleanly structured, harmoniously balanced, long finish. Store it as best you can and enjoy the anticipation! SUPERIORE.DE

"Velvety, rich ruby. Very present and fresh nose, full of plums, raspberries and cranberries, appealing. Very juicy at the base, opens with fine, dense tannin, beautiful enamel, spreads for a long time, firm pressure in the finale". Falstaff

"The 2012 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is one of the bigger, richer wines in the lineup, which is a bit atypical. Readers should expect a huge, dramatic Rocche built on power, intensity and volume. At the same time, the Rocche is incredibly precise and layered. It is that very interplay of richness and finesse that makes the Rocche so alluring. Rose petal, mint and sweet red berries build to a crescendo of aromas, flavors and textures that takes over all the senses." Antonio Galloni

“Vigneto Bellavista” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2013 · 0,75l in Gift Box

The Gran Selezione from the Bellavista vineyard is rich and dark with aromas of wild cherry, smoke, liquorice, menthol and tobacco. Extremely attractive and full-bodied on the palate, firm tannins form the backbone of this virile, potent wine. SUPERIORE.DE

"A fine red with blueberry, lemon and mineral character. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh and very clean finish. Linear and focused. Structured." James Suckling

"Black cherry, plum, graphite, smoke, dried Mediterranean and crushed rocks are front and center in the 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista. Searing tannins give the 2013 much of its energy and vibrancy. A dark, brooding yet austere, mid-weight wine in the best of the Bellavista tradition, the 2013 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own." Antonio Galloni

"The superb 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista shows impeccable balance and offers a classic portrait of Sangiovese (with a small part Malvasia Nera). Castello di Ama has a beautifully unique way of interpreting the potential of the Chianti Classico appellation and this wine is a prime example. The bouquet follows classic lines with wild berry and spice, but Vigneto Bellavista also boasts a wild side with some cured meat and animal-like aromas that suit it very well. The mouthfeel is polished and streamlined, but those dark fruit flavors should flesh out with more bottle aging." Robert Parker

"Complex and inviting aromas of sweet cherry, leather and spice lead to a core of cherry and strawberry fruit, singed by tobacco and earthy, woodsy accents." Wine Spectator

    • Barolo Brunate DOCG 2013

      Barolo Brunate DOCG 2013

Barolo Brunate from luxuriant, fertile location in La Morra, shines with concentration and wealth. Elegant bouquet of dark cherries, plums and a hint of citrus fruit. The taste is full-bodied, but never powerful. Wonderfully structured, granular tannin, good acidity. Brunate 2013 requires some patience, which is however rewarded with a wonderful drop. SUPERIORE.DE

"Shiny ruby garnet. Intense nose, ripe raspberries, strawberries, dark cherries, cloves. Juicy and supple in the attack and course, present fruit, opens with fine-meshed tannin, catchy in the finish." Falstaff

"Pure cherry, strawberry and floral flavors, plus flashes of eucalyptus and wild herb, mark this supple, bright red. Firms up toward the finish yet remains balanced, refined and long, with a lingering aftertaste of cherry, tobacco and mineral." Wine Spectator

"Very focused young Barolo with lots of aromas of crushed strawberries and raspberries. Hints of lilacs, too. Full to medium body, very fine tannins and a persistent and beautiful finish." James Suckling

"Like the other important Nebbiolo-based wines made by Vietti, the 2013 Barolo Brunate follows the house style that sees longer maceration times and submerged cap fermentation. This results in exceptional fullness and plushness in terms of texture that transcends the mouthfeel. The wine's expressive bouquet shows open and frank aromas of dark fruit, tar, road paving, crushed stone and black truffle. This vintage also shows a savory or foxy touch of old leather or spice. I'd suggest a medium-term drinking window. Luca Currado presents his wines in ascending order of power." Robert Parker

"Vietti's 2013 Barolo Brunate is one of the most reticent, powerful and explosive wines in the range. Huge beams of tannin give the wine its energy and overall shape. Readers will have to be especially patient with the 2013, as it is built for the long haul. As...in the very long haul. The gravitas and overall muscularity of Brunate is quite evident, but the wine remains raw, powerful and in need of significant bottle age. Today, the tannins are searing, which adds to the wine's brooding personality. This is the first vintage that includes old-vine fruit that used to go to Oberto and Marengo from a parcel Vietti acquired a few years ago." Antonio Galloni

      Barolo Ravera DOCG 2012

Barolo Ravera represents the more traditional style of winemaking at Vietti. Graphite and iron aromas, with fruity sweet notes of cherry and raspberry, leather and black tea. Intense fruit with complex structure and beautifully interwoven tannin. Powerful and exceptionally stylish. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling ruby garnet. Very fragrant and appealing nose, with notes of fresh cherries, fine raspberries, clear and memorable. Juicy and full on the palate, shows a lot of fine fruit, opens with dense, grippy tannin, very well integrated, describes a wide arch, salty and persistent in the finale". Falstaff

"The 2012 Barolo Ravera is a beautiful wine and a fully-loaded Nebbiolo. The wine offers thick lines and deep concentration with seamless integration even at this very young stage in its evolution. The bouquet is redolent of dried cherry, spice, tar and tilled earth. This is a wine of utmost elegance, grace and nobility. Past vintages have appeared firmly closed when tasted too young, but the 2012 vintage is more relaxed and unclenched than expected." Robert Parker

"The 2012 Barolo Ravera is once again a star. Finely cut and chiseled throughout, the 2012 boasts striking precision and nuance. Rose petal, chalk, white pepper, cranberry and pomegranate burst forward in a brilliant, exceptionally polished Barolo built on pure, sculpted elegance. Over the last few years Vietti has done a tremendous job in taming the intense Ravera tannins while preserving all of the focus that makes the wines from this site so alluring. The Ravera has been fabulous on the two occassions I have tasted it so far." Antonio Galloni

"The tar and asphalt comes through here with ripe plum and berry character too. Full body, tight and muscular. Deep and thought-provoking. Give it two or three years to open but already impressive to taste." James Suckling

    • Barolo Lazzarito DOCG 2013

      Barolo Lazzarito DOCG 2013

Barolo Lazzarito from Serralunga d'Alba is Viettis powerful and determined Barolo. In addition to the dark fruit, a variety of spicy aromas such as smoke and white pepper seduce the senses. Structured and precise on the palate, it spreads generously and with refinement, long and mineral in the finish with a cool hint of menthol and the promise of excellent aging. SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense, sparkling ruby garnet. Very fragrant, inviting nose, full of dark roses, forest raspberries and fresh plums, in the background slightly earthy tones. Rich, dense tannin, builds up in many layers, never drying throughout, but interwoven with fine enamel, salty, concise fruit, very long aftertaste in the finale". Falstaff

"Smells weedy, then picks up floral, berry and tar flavors, with a solid band of tannins guarding the finish. Surprisingly balanced, showing a compact finish for now." Wine Spectator

"This is a Barolo that really focuses on pure fruit with berry, chocolate and floral character. Full body, soft and velvety tannins and a beautiful finish. So much velvet! Gorgeous." James Suckling

"The 2013 Barolo Lazzarito shows the power and the intensity of the Serralunga d'Alba township in full force. This is a wine with broad shoulders that carries itself with a confident and proud personality. The wine is infused with dark fruit, blackberry preserves, clove, tar, pipe tobacco, earthy truffle and balsam herb. In terms of Nebbiolo aromas, this wine offers all the classic descriptors. Despite it firmness and the importance of its structure, the wine offers a beautiful degree of richness and succulence that certainly plays in favor of its hedonistic appeal." Robert Parker

"This tasting of the 2013 Barolo Lazzarito confirms just how far the wine has come along in recent vintages. Creamy, ample and potent, the 2013 offers an intriguing interplay of aromatics, fruit and structural underpinnings. Gravel, smoke, tar and dark fruit - all signatures of this Serralunga site - are front and center, but it is the wine's overall balance that is most impressive. Scorched earth, leather, smoke and graphite are some of the many notes that reapper on the finish. The 2013 is a real stunner." Antonio Galloni

    • Barolo Rocche di Castiglione DOCG 2013

Barolo Rocche di Castiglione DOCG 2013

Barolo Rocche, from the best vineyards in Castiglione Falletto, is an expressive, still somewhat youthful wine. Light, red fruits and tobacco characterise its clear, rice bouquet, on the palate the ripe fruit dominates, silky-sweet tannin, balance, structure and persistence. SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense ruby with a fine garnet shimmer. Very attractive and complex nose, opened with notes of coriander seed, then blackberry and plum, clear and straightforward. Juicy and smooth at the base and in the course, with a lot of plump, ripe fruit, raspberries and dark cherries, opening with velvety, dense tannins, very long aftertaste". Falstaff

"A core of cherry is surrounded by beef bouillon, soy and tar notes, with serious tannins to boot. This red tips toward the dry side in the balance, showing a long, compact finish." Wine Spectator

"Aromas of blueberries, lavender and mint. Full body, a tight center palate and beautiful fruit. A wine that shows density and subtlety. Very tannic and structured. The real deal." James Suckling

"The 2013 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione (once simply named Rocche) is a richly endowed expression of Nebbiolo. The wine boasts dense fiber and texture with exquisite aromas of dark fruit and spice. The wine is not obvious in any way, and it offers new sides and aromas each time you return to the glass. Subtle tones of campfire ash, licorice and balsam herb are neatly woven within the broader bouquet. I tasted this wine from two separate bottles and was impressed by the near-term evolution of both. The wine shifted and changed beautifully as it sat in the glass for a mere 15 minutes." Robert Parker

"The 2013 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is ample, generous and also surprisingly rich. The more intense, voluptuous side of Rocche comes through loud and clear. Even with all of its textural depth, the Rocche possesses superb aromatic intensity and nuance. The 2013 is an unusually rich, racy Rocche, with tons of mid-palate richness. In many vintages, the Rocche is open-knit and sensual, which gives it a certain amount of early accessibility. I don't see much of that in the 2013. Readers will have to be patient here." • Barolo "Le Vigne" DOCG 2012
MAGNUM in OWC

Barolo “Le Vigne” DOCG 2012 · MAGNUM in OWC

Le Vigne is a splendid Barolo of Sandrone. The bouquet opens wide with aromas of fresh red fruits and a delicate spicy note. On the palate very intense, remarkably elegant, fine-grained tannins, extremely clear, structured and long. SUPERIORE.DE

"Sparkling, intense ruby with a garnet edge. Clear and intense nose, after ripe cherries, fine blackberry, some orange compote. Velvety and round in the base and course, builds up in many layers, much fine-meshed tannin, very polished, long reverberation, a great pleasure! Falstaff

"Delicate, mature color, little orange rim. Delicate and delicate also in the fragrance, with seductive sweetness and fine wood nuances as well as graphite; deep herb spice with fine, ripe fruit. Very broad in the mouth, multi-layered and balanced, very melty in the base, with noble tannins. On the other hand, it is Burgundian and delicate, with a fine-grained tannin structure, long and red berry clear in the aftertaste." Weinwisser

"Purity of fruit and balance here is very impressive. Firm and very silky tannins with a long, long finish that gives the wine amazing depth and intensity. Love the spicy and dense fruit character at the end of the palate." James Suckling

"A hint of oak lends this a spicy component, along with cherry, licorice and tar flavors. Racy and bright, with fine intensity and a long, tightly wound finish that seems to go on forever. Shows beautiful purity and class." Wine Spectator

"The Luciano Sandrone 2012 Barolo le Vigne shows the trademark ripeness that I so often identify in this historic product. The bouquet is round and plush with thick layers of dark cherry marmalade, blackberry preserves and dark currant. Beyond those apparent fruit aromas, Le Vigne offers dark spice and licorice with a beautiful menthol signature on the finish. The wine's natural structure is padded by soft tannins and lush fruit consistency." Robert Parker

    • "Terlaner I" Grande Cuvée Alto Adige DOC 2017

“Terlaner I” Grande Cuvée Alto Adige DOC 2017

Terlaner I (pronounced Primo) Grande Cuvée is the name of the white flagship of Cantina Terlano. In the past few years, the winery has made a name for itself worldwide with its long-lived, mineral white wines. Even after years, the wines present themselves in top freshness and with great complexity. With this long white wine history, there is now, since vintage 2011, a wine in which the essence of Terlan is expressed in an even more focused way. In Terlaner I Grande Cuvée, the grape varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon from the Winkl, Kreuth and Vorberg vineyards are united to a masterpiece, which, due to its limitation and exclusivity, will only be available at hand-picked retailers and in selected top restaurants.

Brilliant straw yellow. Rich and complex on the nose with aromas of citrus, white pepper and herbs and a delicate smoky note. Remarkable structure and refined texture, which give it finesse, elegance and a distinctive character. The exceptionally long and salty finish is endlessly memorable as an expression of a mineral terroir unique in the world. SUPERIORE.DE

"Brilliant straw yellow with subtle green. Opens with subtle smoky notes, after cool stones, then tree-fresh apple, some apricot and pineapple to it. Starts off terrific on the palate, lots of crisp mirabelle fruit, some banana, very deep, saline and with a long finish, a long distance runner." Falstaff

"The 2017 Terlaner Grande Cuvée Primo is rich and seductive from the first tilt of the glass. It displays a mix of roasted hazelnut, baked apple and dried peaches, as it gains further complexities through evolving notes of smoky minerals, chamomile and hints of honeysuckle. The textural depths on the palate are otherworldly, seemingly weighty yet precise, enveloping all it touches in velvety waves of ripe stone fruits and sweet spice, as juicy acids sneak in, both framing and balancing the wine. The finish is remarkably long yet fresh, teeming with energy while also showing hints of vanilla and toasty oak. The Terlano wines have a track record for evolving beautifully in the cellar." Vinous

"Cooked-apple, clove, light toffee and smoked-wood aromas follow through to a full body with layers of fruit and nice phenolics that give it a creamy, almost chewy structure. Flavorful and intense. Smoky at the end with licorice and fennel-seed undertones." James Suckling

"Magnificent graceful mix of seasoned oak, rich fruit and rosemary scents. Luscious ripe and intense green fruited palate with a kaleidoscope of mineral, floral and herbal notes; poised, rich and defined by glorious underpinning acidity." Decanter
