This Schiava has a typically fruity bouquet of cherry, raspberry and strawberry. On the palate, it is fruity and mineral with a firm, slender structure. A fresh and very fairly priced companion for every day. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright cherry and strawberry combine with violet and rose when the 2021 Vernatsch Schiava opens in the glass. It is remarkably beautiful and full of energy. The 2021 is powerful with a core of tart red fruits. It leaves hints of liquorice and spice, while residual acids maintain freshness." Vinous

“Rivus” Lagrein Alto Adige DOC 2021
The grapes for Rivus come from the best Lagrein sites, some of them from 100-year-old vines in Neumarkt and Auer. Rich purple red. Aromas of wild blackberries, tobacco, herbs and lavender. Energetic body, not too heavy, soft, silky tannins and bright acidity. Spicy and tasty with a juicy and lively finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Like a freshly cracked open jar of wild berry preserves laced with sweet sage, the 2021 Lagrein Rivus makes itself known in the glass. This blends both sweet and sour characteristics with crisp blackberry fruits offset by citrus and brisk acidity. It leaves the palate stained in primary concentration yet remains surprisingly fresh as violet inner florals and a tart black currant twang slowly fade." Vinous
"This youthful Lagrein red wine needs a little aeration to expel the last bit of carbon dioxide from the fermentation, but then a broad spectrum of aromas of black cherries, red berries and candied ginger unfolds. The tannins are very elegant for this grape variety and go wonderfully with the precise fruit character. Long, silky finish. Built for ageing." James Suckling

It has a soft texture with a cooling minerality that balances the ripe fruit of the orchard. The 2021 finishes savoury and crisp, leaving a saline note and a hint of nectarine." Vinous

“Sirmian 50 anni” Pinot Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2021
Anniversary edition: High-class Pinot Blanc from the South Tyrolean Wine Route, or more precisely from the exposed altitude of Sirmian, where the Pinot Bianco finds its ideal location and an optimal microclimate. This is why it is of remarkable quality every year. Clear and straw-yellow sparkling in the glass, intense bouquet of light blossoms, green apple, red currants and a hint of sage and nutmeg. Harmonious, powerful and persistent on the palate, with a full flavour typical of the grape variety and a beautiful melt, mineral finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pinot Bianco Sirmian 2021 has a bouquet of sweet floral scents, freshly cut green apples and ginger. The palate is round and soothing, with lively acidity and lime nuances that enliven the ripe fruit of the orchard. The 2021 is wonderfully fresh and balanced, finishing with commendable length and subtle spice." Vinous
"Bright, intense straw yellow. Opens on the nose to ripe apple, plus melon, underpinned by spicy notes of meadow herbs and hay. Mouth-filling, with nice pressure on the palate, rich fruit into the long finish." Falstaff
"It's chewy with dried apple and mango and some lemon zest. Also dried peaches. Full body with layered fruit and fresh acidity. Also some yoghurt character." James Suckling
"This bottle bears a special 50th anniversary label, making it one of the oldest representatives of this grape variety in the region. The Nals Margreid 2021 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Sirmian draws its fruit from over 15 hectares in high altitude vineyards where this grape variety shows its best results. A beautiful expression with a mouthful so precise and sharp that the wine tastes almost spicy. Grapefruit, Granny Smith apple and crisp pear are offset by a light spice and saffron. There's also a hint of white peppercorn." Wine Advocate
"Creamy and supple with rich lemon zest, nutty baked apple, ripe apricot and saffron, underlined by the emerging strong minerality and focused saline finish." Decanter
"One of the clearest Pinot Blancs in South Tyrol, spiced with the crisp craftsmanship that is at home in Nalles. Vineyards at the foot of the winery, 7 months in barrel and steel tank, cedar peel and hawthorn on the nose. On the palate very tight, lively, spicy and with an excellent finish." Luca Gardini

This is pure elegance, silky yet refined, with crisp red fruits and crunchy minerality giving the wine a tactile edge. The Monticol leaves a hint of youthful concentration and a sour citrus note that underlines the style beautifully." Vinous
"This bright red shows a sense of poise and fine balance, with a rich vein of minerally iron and smoke underscoring flavors of wild cherry, medicinal herbs and mandarin orange peel. “Villa Gresti di San Leonardo” Rosso Dolomiti IGT 2018
Villa Gresti is an exciting cuvée of Merlot and Carménère that is a very nice balance between fruit intensity, spice, ripe cherry and sweet tobacco. Medium-bodied on the palate, with a softness and a very attractive, drinkystyle and a rich, fruit-driven finish. Classic Bordeaux style. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense ruby red. Notes of red fruits, strawberry, fresh cherry and slightly floral notes. Juicy, fruity and slightly tannic on the palate. Good persistence and pleasant aftertaste." Falstaff
"Darkly floral and brooding in the glass, the 2018 Rosso Villa Gresti di San Leonardo grumbles up with musky black currants and smokey grilled herbs. This is soft-textured, round and savory in style with depths of mineral-inflected dark red fruits. It finishes fresh and potent with only a subtle tug of fine tannin. “NATSCH4” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT s.a. (BIO)
Pushing the limits!
"Comets light up, follow their orbit and burn up. Some last for years, others only for a few moments. They leave an impression and can point to a certain direction that guides us in our everyday work. Experimentation, innovation and playing with components are at the forefront of comets. Each of our comets is unique, like a fingerprint. The labels of each bottle are individually designed: A comet tail, painted on with a finger." Clemens Lageder
The Vernatsch variety is part of South Tyrol's culture and an important component of the country's red wine varieties. The grape variety is often hastily dismissed as too simple and often gets little time in the cellar. This Vernatsch has had time to develop. NATSCH4 is a vintage blend of the four vintages 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The grapes of the wines come from the oldest parcel of the famous Vernatsch site RÖMIGBERG. The four wines are vinified on the skins and whole clusters for different lengths of time. SUPERIORE.DE
"The NV Natsch4 (a blend of four vintages of Schiava) bursts from the glass with an intense mix of crushed raspberries and black cherries complemented by autumnal spices and shaved cedar. This is zesty in nature, with tart wild berry fruits offset by stimulating acidity and sour citrus. It tapers off a bit shorter than anticipated yet leaves the mouth watering for more, as a bitter yet subtle twang of nectarine punctuates the finale. The Natsch4 does impress, yet it will be best served alongside a meal." Vinous

“Baron Salvadori” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020
Bright, intense light golden yellow. In the powerful yet harmonious Chardonnay Baron Salvadori, the aromas of fine vanilla cream and ripe fruit change in quick succession. Fresh and round on the palate, the accentuated fruit accompanied by balanced acidity, a fine salty vein and well-integrated wood spice. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Chardonnay Riserva Baron Salvadori 2020 is so pretty and perfumed that it seduces with a bouquet of spring flowers, pear, melon sorbet and sweet spices. It is silky and enveloping. Vanilla custard and mint complement the ripe fruit of the orchard in texture. Although Baron Salvadori is rich and at times opulent, it finishes remarkably fresh with lingering chamomile notes." Vinous
"The Nals Margreid 2020 Alto Adige Chardonnay Riserva Baron Salvadori is a beautiful wine with a very precise and straightforward approach, highlighted at this very young stage of the wine. Mineral salinity transitions directly into creamy fruit and poached apple. This wine offers great energy and textural depth. Baron Salvadori is a chateau vineyard with vines that are between 40 and 60 years old. The vines are planted in a pergola system and the exact clone is a mystery, partly because there are different winemakers, all next to each other." Wine Advocate
"This is a super bottle of chardonnay with sliced apples, nougat, dried flowers, honey and hints of pie crust. Full-bodied yet very tight and toned with a hint of lightly salted caramel to the focused and bright fruit." James Suckling

The approx. 35-year-old Pinot Nero vines stand near the village of Rodel-Pianezzi at an altitude of approx. 500 m. Ruby-red wine with aubergine reflections. Frank, clean scent of wild strawberry, raspberry and delicious notes of tobacco. On the palate, a very well-balanced extract-tannin ratio, yet complex, soft and with a spicy-salty vein. The well-dosed use of wood and the finely meshed tannin create a good framework for further development at absolute Riserva level. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Pinot Nero Rodel Pianezzi lifts from the glass with an inviting blend of dried black cherries, dusty sage and clove. This is round and soothing on the palate, with sweet spices giving way to ripe strawberry and minty herbal tones that add a lovely lift toward the close. Intense garnet red colour with black-violet hues. Open, very complex aroma of blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry, cherry and plum, accompanied by a hint of pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, it is an elegant, dry wine that leads into the remarkable Riserva-level finish with its extract sweetness, tannins and a fine liquorice note. SUPERIORE.DE
"Firm and quite deep aroma of ripe, predominantly black berries with floral nuances, a little Mediterranean herbs, restrained barrel notes and a hint of pepper and juniper. Taut, tart, juicy dark fruit, slightly smoky notes, relatively present, yet very fine and rather crumbly tannins, persistent on the palate, some nutty and a hint of tobacco wood spice, hints of liquorice in the background, elegant style despite its power, fine peppery and juniper tones, mineral notes, very good, firm, tart, juicy and finely spicy finish." Wein-plus
"A beguiling blend of black raspberries, peppery herbs, cedar and exotic spices makes the 2018 Rosso Faye impossible to ignore. It's soft and supple, with bracing acidity that gives an energised feel, even as masses of ripe red and blue fruit flood the palate with youthful concentration. Sweet tannins frame the finish, which tapers off surprisingly juicy and fresh with a saline note and a lingering hint of lavender. This expressive vintage of Rosso Faye may not be as long-lived as the great vintages, but it will offer a broad and open drinking window." Vinous
"A vivid red, bright on the palate and with good concentration to the flavors of ripe black and red currant fruit, with fragrant notes of oolong tea, bay leaf and sassafras. Shows taut tannins enmeshed in the detailed flavor profile, while a zesty streak of milled pepper drives the finish." Wine Spectator

“Granato” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO)
Granato has been an exceptional Teroldego for years: It convinces in the bouquet with its rich balsamic scent of sour cherries and red currants. Extract-rich and intense, powerful and extremely precise on the palate. A great wine that reflects the long-standing consistency and competence of this winemaker. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Teroldego Granato is so youthful yet so beautiful, rising from the glass with an infectiously spicy bouquet that is at times autumnal, at times savoury, mingling with dark red fruits. The palate is flooded with a wave of intense raspberries and wild berries that quickly saturate, but with a hint of sour citrus for a nice balance. A pretty inner sweetness lingers as it finishes structured and remarkably long with a refreshing hint of inner rose and wild strawberry that lingers on. It's powerful but also elegant and perfectly balanced for a long evolution." Vinous
"This wine shows deep red and dark berries with peppery notes, dark chocolate, hibiscus and grapefruit peel. Just a hint of cedar and smoked herbs. Full and concentrated, so stable and dense with lively, finely honed tannins and vibrant acidity giving the wine power and highlighting the savoury fruit and minerality. Very long and tense." James Suckling
"Iconic wine, one of the expressive peaks of Teroldego. Fermentation in open oak vats, ageing in acacia and cement casks, great freshness on the nose, redcurrants, touches of wild mint and rhubarb, on the palate it is dense-sweet, with a fruity-balsamic return and a finish on underbrush notes." Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Quarz” Sauvignon Bianco Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021
Named after the quartz flecks in the volcanic porphyry rock of Terlan, Italy's most famous Sauvignon Bianco lives up to its name. Sparkling yellow-green. Filigree, delicately scented with grapefruit, peach, honey and green papaya. Quartz is taut and precise, with a fleshy, creamy texture, great depth and a wonderful mineral-salty finish. Must have and must taste! SUPERIORE.DE
"Our Sauvignon selection, which has been given a truly significant name, is as filigree as the fine quartz incrustations in the volcanic porphyry rock of Terlan. Characteristic of the quartz are its fine texture and depth as well as a salty reverberation, which have in the meantime brought this noble white wine international renown." Rudi Kofler, Kellermeister Terlan
"Subtle grassy herbal notes lead to an expressive palate with lemon curd, guava and focused mineral characters; refreshing and long." Decanter
"The aromas of melon, kiwi, Meyer lemon and notes of chive blossom and toast are very harmonious. An enticing white cleverly knitted with razor-sharp acidity and salty minerality. The palate is long and creamy, with spice, mineral and herbal accents on the lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Quartz is very seductive, with a rich blend of spicy herbs and grapefruit peel underlined by a cooling hint of white smoke. It is powerful and smooth with medium body and a pretty inner sweetness that borders on decadence but is balanced by a bracing core of zesty acidity. Candied lemon and lime resonate, while a touch of salty minerality and chalk dust provide a perfect contrast. Like most Quartz vintages, this wine will age well over the medium term. Still, there's no harm in enjoying it now in this wonderful primary state." Vinous
"A sophisticated Sauvignon with a complex and aromatic nose offering notes of glazed citrus and stone fruit with honeysuckle and melon rind. The palate is full and structured with lively acidity. Creamy with the texture of a ripe nectarine and an exciting mineral finish." James Suckling
"Cantina Terlano's usual fascinating journey into the potential of Sauvignon Blanc. On the nose cedar, lychee, a hint of nectarine, then a menthol note and cedar thyme. Dense, crisp and exciting on the palate, with a fruity, citrusy finish and long reverberation." Luca Gardini
"Bright, sparkling straw yellow. Very intense nose, smells richly of dark currants and elderflowers, plus some tomato green, exciting. Also shows great spiciness on the palate, lots of sage, salty, nice melting on the final, lingers very long." Falstaff

"The best of the best - you don't drink this wine every day. It needs attention, time to mature and likes to play the leading role: as the crowning glory of a festive table or even as a proud solitaire." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Noble and pure, the Mason di Mason Pinot Nero shines with flavours of raspberry, rose blossom, undergrowth and sweet spices. Elegant and seamlessly round on the palate with incredible balance, complexity and detail. A knockout Pinot Noir! SUPERIORE.DE"Bright, brightening ruby red colour. Noble, delicate nose of ripe wild berries, notes of spruce shoots, citrus, fragrant. Light-footed and elegant on the palate, with clear fruit, beautiful acidity, red berry flavours and freshness, balanced, with a high drinking flow and medium length." Falstaff
"The 2020 Mason di Mason seduces with aromas of foreign spices, cedar, curry leaves, crushed stones and dried black cherries. This is pure class, silky and supple, with a core of mineral red fruit and vibrant acidity that keeps the energy going. The 2020 finishes with a concentrated and remarkably long finish of blood orange and tart raspberry notes that fills the cheeks. It could do with a short stay in the cellar to mature a little more. The Mason di Mason is the cru in the cru Pinot Noir of Manincor, which comes from the oldest vines of the Mazon vineyard." Vinous
Mason di Mason is described by the winery as "a Grand Cru within a Grand Cru". It comes from the highest and oldest parcels of the Mazzon vineyard with thinner moraine soils over hard limestone, resulting in smaller berries. The aromas of red and black cherries are joined by bitter herbs, cocoa and earth, which are reflected in the mouth, where the flavour is intense, structured and woody. It is juicy and combines good concentration with excellent length." Decanter
"This wine is very aromatic, with a very pure fruit, with notes of pink roses, blood orange and potpourri. Also some iodine. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of tension and mouth-filling juiciness. The tannins are supple and melt into the fruit. Delicious and long. Beautifully made." James Suckling

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Morei” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
The Teroldego from Foradori are all a great experience. Elisabetta presses highly interesting wines from the autochthonous grape variety from the foot of the Dolomites. And they do so purely organically and partly in amphorae.
Morei (dark in Trentino dialect) is an original red wine, true to the terroir, and at the same time of irresistible elegance and finesse. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from the cold north winds by the nearby steep rock faces. The rock stores heat during the day, which radiates to the vineyard at night. The soil here is very stony, therefore relatively warm, dense, dark, mineral, like the eponymous wine Morei Teroldego. The average age of the vines (30 years) also contributes to its depth of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Teroldego Morei is intense in the glass. Exotic spices and dark, dusty flowers offset crushed stone and dried cherry notes. The palate is flooded with ripe red fruits and mineral notes driven by zesty acidity. The grippy tannins assert themselves on the final, allowing purple flowers and clove notes to live on within. A touch of sour citrus perfectly underscores the experience." Vinous
"This is so lively, blooming with such purity of red and blue fruit, with hints of fresh violets, savory herbs, white pepper and savory, citrus undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and vibrant with crunchy, very fine tannins and a structured, chalky backbone to it. Crushed stones. So much life and energy here with stunning acidity and a lingering, savory finish." James Suckling

“Sgarzon” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Sgarzon is a single vineyard, hardly more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper soil layers, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, filigree and yet full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet - an exciting mix of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Teroldego Sgarzon 2021 is an elegant beauty. Roses and cloves complement bright cherries and strawberries. It is silky through and through, balancing sweet red fruits and acidity for a perfectly harmonious red wine. The Sgarzon finishes remarkably fresh yet powerful and long, with a framework of gentle tannins and hints of liquorice and minerals that linger. The 2021 is possibly the finest interpretation of the Sgarzon to date." Vinous
"Engagingly fresh nose with white pepper, stems, blue fruit, longyan and some fine geraniums. Really crunchy and fresh on the palate with a linear medium body and pure dark cherry fruit. Chalky, firm tannins round it off before a pure-fruit finish. Long and succulent." James Suckling

“Troy” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2019
Troy is not a normal Chardonnay. Rather, it is the archetype of a Chardonnay, as Wolfgang Klotz, managing director of probably the most successful winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol, sees it. The grapes come from two selected vineyards in Söll, near Tramin. Not only does a Mediterranean climate prevail there, but also quite cold fall winds at night determine the vegetation. Both factors ensure optimal development of the plants and fruits. The berries are handpicked piece by piece and it is therefore clear to every wine connoisseur that this is an absolutely prestigious project of the cooperative. It is therefore not surprising that only 3,000 bottles of this vintage are sold in selected specialist shops and top restaurants.
Intense straw to golden yellow. Tropical fruit on the nose, a hint of camomile and mint, then fine toasted notes and a subtle nutty touch. On the palate, you can almost taste the proximity of the mountains, its clarity, freshness and intensity: exotic notes of yellow ripe fruit, then again some nuttiness and in addition again a beguiling liveliness and minerality, which ends in an equally long final. Chardonnay can be like this, chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE
"Very typical, smoky underpinned Chardonnay fragrance with yellow stone fruit, peach, delicate exoticism with pineapple and mango, supported by a smoky-nutty backdrop in which roasted hazelnuts and fine caramel bring Burgundy to mind again. Dense and full-bodied in the mouth with a creamy texture reminiscent of salty butter, wonderfully contrasted by the spicy-salty freshness that increasingly sets the tone." Weinwisser
"The 2019 Chardonnay Riserva Troy rises from the glass with enriching notes of hazelnut and custard before giving way to white flowers and hints of opal apple. This wine is elegant from start to finish, with ripe orchard fruits and sweet spices perfectly contrasted by salty minerality. The Troy is long and lightly textured, leaving an aftertaste of raw almonds and candied limes. Although a little hedonistic on the nose, the balance of this wine is a feast for the eyes. Cellaring should help integrate some of the 2019 oak flavours." Vinous
"One of the winery's top wines, the Cantina Tramin 2019 Alto Adige Chardonnay Riserva Troy opens a little slowly. It has had a long maturation process: 11 months in barrique and 22 months in stainless steel. With a little coaxing, this alpine white wine finally blossoms, showing orchard fruit, pie crust and baked apple." Wine Advocate
"Peach, pie crust, pineapple and mango crumble on the nose with hazelnuts and salted caramel. Full-bodied with a lovely buttery texture. Long and lush, yet with lemony freshness and saline undertones." James Suckling
"Brilliant yellow apples and lemon zest with a lurking wealth of toasted vanilla and lush, chalky minerality keeping the structure in check. Long and impressive." Decanter
"Intense bright straw yellow with green nuances. Opens with fresh notes of mint, then lots of clear fruit, pineapple and mango, some beeswax, very inviting. Extremely juicy and present on the palate, shows lots of tropical fruit, very appealing, well-integrated acidity gives tension, long finish." Falstaff
"One of the "untouchable" products from the Termeno winery's research. A lively Chardonnay, with a faceted nose, yellow plum, then rosemary, lemongrass and ginger. Notes of white pepper on the finish. The palate is tasty, with officinal fruity return and spicy memories." Luca Gardini

Noble, white cuvée made from Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Sauvignon, as majestic as the Terlan castle ruins of the same name. Powerful and complex, multi-faceted, exotic and mineral, this classic Terlaner brings out the advantages of the growing region with a strong character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cool character with restrained fruit, some citrus. Very lively, crisp acidity, taut and compact, tightly woven, pleasantly tart flavour, wet stone and orange zest, firmly structured and crackling minerality. The soils are of volcanic origin with quartz porphyry in the subsoil." Weinwisser
"The Terlaner Riserva Nova Domus 2020 needs time to come into focus. It starts off smoky and mineral. When you swirl it, it reveals its hidden charm: sweet camomile and mint give way to apples with lime and spices. It floods the palate with an opulent, silky texture that seems almost heavy, but is balanced by a burst of mineral acidity, while young peach and nectarine notes linger. The 2020 finishes on a savoury, almost salty note." Vinous
"Lively elderflowers, blossoms and herbs with a round, juicy texture and a seductive acidity centre. Very long and elegant." Decanter
"A beautiful, delicious white wine in which the chalky, mineral base harmoniously combines with flavours of ripe Gala apple, nectarine, almond blossom and pickled ginger. Long and velvety in texture, with a beautiful, floral finish." Wine Spectator
"Intense, bright straw yellow colour with light green notes. Very varied and inviting nose of crisp apple, some beeswax, light smoky components, playful. Lots of juicy fruit and good tension on the palate, fine salty components that linger for a long time." Falstaff
"A rich and complex bouquet with glazed peaches, ripe mangoes, crushed walnuts and pie crust. Also a hint of dried flowers. Full-bodied, taut and mineral with a chalky texture that gives it structure and length. Beautiful acidity that holds its nerve and leads to a long, energising finish." James Suckling
"Fruit from a selection of the best Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon grapes, a stunning blend. It has a compact, taut nose with scents of candied cedar, eucalyptus and a slightly almondy finish. On the palate, it impresses with a refined spiciness and a fresh, citrusy finish." Luca Gardini

“Granato” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Fermentation in open oak vats, ageing in acacia and cement casks, great freshness on the nose, redcurrants, touches of wild mint and rhubarb, on the palate it is dense-sweet, with a fruity-balsamic return and a finish on underbrush notes." “Nama” Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC 2019
NA for Nals, MA for Margreid. A tribute to two outstanding sites where something special can be felt, seen and felt, and which have inspired cellarmaster Harald Schraffl to create something equally special from their grapes. A wine and essence that expresses the essence of the small parcels in its purest form, whose typicity tells the South Tyrol of tomorrow, a timeless wine with recognition value in an international context.
The Chardonnay vines for NAMA are between 30 and 40 years old. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. After the gentle whole bunch pressing, the must is pre-clarified by natural, static sedimentation, fermentation and ageing in small oak barrels for 18 months on the lees. This is followed by ageing on the lees for a further year in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by a further year of bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet white flowers, opal apples and notes of candied lime make up the bouquet of the 2019 Chardonnay Nama, flooding the palate with opulent textures and rich white stone fruit balanced by a vibrant acidic core and gentle acidic citrus notes. The Chardonnay is beautifully balanced, leaving a hint of concentration that gives it a tactile feel, while finishing with great length and finesse." Vinous
"Bright straw yellow with strong green nuances. Opens with notes of mint, ripe pineapple, fine smoky components, some brown butter. Firm and sturdy on the palate, well-integrated acidity, firm pressure on the final, roasted hazelnuts in the aftertaste." Falstaff
"The Nals Margreid 2019 Alto Adige Bianco Nama is a Chardonnay, although previous vintages have included small amounts of Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc. From this vintage onwards, the wine is only identified as Chardonnay on the front label. Characterised by a cool mountain climate, this lovely wine shows many of the elegant fruit and mineral accents we have seen in past editions of Nama. It also offers light toasty and oaky notes that give the wine a lovely texture, a soft creaminess and excellent length. It is a beauty." Wine Advocate
"The intensity and subtlety of this young white wine is impressive. It offers aromas of spicy pears, granite and flint, as well as alpine flowers and hints of cream and vanilla. Also mango. Full-bodied yet very linear, with wonderful length and intensity. It lingers on the palate for minutes. It has the class of a top Burgundy and yet is a true South Tyrolean. 100% Chardonnay this year. 2,000 bottles." James Suckling

From the snow-capped peaks and vineyards of the alpine wilderness to the breathtaking sunsets on the slopes of the Dolomites - there is something truly magical about the Trentino region that never fails to amaze even regular visitors. It is primarily known for its white wines, first and foremost the autochthonous Nosiola variety, which is unfortunately still relatively unknown outside Italy. In addition, the red international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Carménère line the slopes of the Adige Valley. These grape varieties have thrived in this area for centuries and have become so deeply rooted in the local culture that they are considered "native" varieties. The most famous cuvées from these varieties is undoubtedly Tenuta San Leonardo, which presses top-class Bordeaux blends from them with its old vines grown on pergolas.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous.com) raves in his latest tasting report: "The use of these four red grape varieties makes for an exquisite combination when blended into a single wine bottle; it's no wonder that many people consider them some of the best wines available today! Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure with its tannins, while Merlot and Cabernet Franc add complexity with their aromas and flavours such as blackberry and cassis respectively; finally, Carménère adds depth to the wine by offering herbal elements such as peppers or green olive nuances, among others. This unique blend results in an exceptionally smooth yet complex flavour profile that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a dish of your choice!"
Now on to South Tyrol. This extremely popular holiday and wine region is known for its great variety of white and red grape varieties, which makes it one of the most diverse areas in terms of grape variety selection. Here, in addition to many smaller and larger winegrowers, cooperatives in particular are an important part of the wine scene. This results in a great advantage for consumers: these winegrowers' cooperatives enable small producers to pool their resources and thus produce higher quality wines at more affordable prices than they could on their own.
"Since most of these small producers owned only one hectare of vineyard each, hundreds of them once joined together to form cooperatives, where strict guidelines for vineyard management must be followed to ensure high-quality production. Thanks to this commitment to quality control and high standards, many top wines come out of these cooperative wineries every year. Although there are also many simple, drinkable wines produced in large quantities, the level achieved by the winegrowers' cooperatives of Trentino and South Tyrol is remarkable!
This year's tastings were a treat for the senses, with some truly impressive wines on offer. Above all, the white wines of the 2021 vintage stood out as particularly delightful. They impressed with stunning aromatics and lush, ripe fruit balanced by brilliant acidity, leaving the palate feeling refreshed and satisfied. The reds were also remarkable; they had a smooth character that focused on offering immediate pleasure. Overall, there were many highlights at this year's tastings, showcasing some truly outstanding wines from the region - especially in the white varieties!" Vinous
