“Vigneto Enrico Cialdini” Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC 2022 secco
Purple dark red colour, beautiful foam. Cherry nose, continues in the fresh drink with notes of elderberries and a fine bitter note. A high-quality, dry and powerful Lambrusco from the Enrico Cialdini vineyard with remarkable juiciness and well-balanced sweetness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, purple-red colour; intense red berry, inviting; very fine foam, certain sweetness, balanced, drinky, fruity length, very nice." (JLF) Merum
"Bright, medium ruby red colour with a persistent head. Ripe blackberries and blackcurrants on the nose, followed by a hint of violets and cherries. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with well-integrated perlage and fine tannins, drinky and with a long final." Falstaff
"Dark as night in the glass, the 2022 Lambrusco Grasparossa Vigneto Cialdini smolders up with a seductive bouquet of sage and lavender giving way to black currants and sweet smoke. It’s more savory than sweet with textures of pure silk, further embellished by a creamy steam of fine bubbles and ripe wild berry fruits. This leaves a licorice tinge while tapering off remarkably fresh yet also long and staining to the senses. I’m loving the complexity yet also the elegance here. The Vigneto Cialdini is a varietal Lambrusco Grasparossa." Vinous
"Concentrated aromas of black plum, fig, blackberry, white pepper, allspice and tea leaves pour from the glass. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a lush and generous offering of black cherry jam balanced by floral and spicy elements that bring the wine to its earthy finish." Wine Enthusiast

Primitivo Felline smells of ripe berries, flowers, figs and sultanas. Its distinctly dense flavour is carried by present but sweet tannins and a fresh, tart plum finish. The classic of the winery. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a dark core. Initially mingled notes of sealing wax and beetroot on the nose, plus some malt, reverberating with milk chocolate. On the palate with lots of tannin and open-hearted fruit, reminiscent of pineapple, ferruginous, precise." Falstaff

Nocera Rosso Sicilia Nocera DOC 2022 (BIO)
Nocera - this noble vine is only grown on a few hectares in the province of Messina, on a spectacular vineyard surrounded by the sea. Bright garnet red in colour, with an original aroma of white pepper, cherries, geranium and summer fruits. The typical fresh and fruity flavour of this old Sicilian grape is convincing. A fine salty vein in the spicy final. An unforgettable experience from Planeta's Capo Milazzo branch on the coast north of Mount Etna. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark berries with lemon peel and mineral flavours. Medium-bodied with firm acidity and a solid mouthfeel that gives this wine energy and focus. Straightforward and racy." James Suckling
"The fresh, cool nose features notes of slate, white pepper, crunchy cherries and licorice. On the palate, acid electrifies the cherries and that faint medicinal quality, while firm, austere tannins and a deep, primitive earthiness quietly announce more serious intentions." Wine Enthusiast

Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022
Pale straw yellow with greenish inclusions. Restrained, elegant bouquet of apple, mango and peach. Almost distinguished and aristocratic on the palate with the typical, flavoursome aftertaste of hazelnut and light fruit typical of the Nosiola grape variety. With its piquant acidity, it is ideal with light meat dishes or shellfish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Nosiola is dusty and floral, with a whiff of cedar and dried flowers offset by spiced citrus. This is saline and precise, with soft textures yet an abundance of mineral tension, as tart orchard fruits cascade across the palate. It tapers off with admirable length and wickedly fresh, crunchy and savory, ending with a salty sensation." Vinous

Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2022
Opulent, savoury fruit, plus sage, ginger and thyme. Very soft and rich on the palate, fresh and agile as it progresses until it finally reaches its persistent and mineral final. A terroir wine full of character and complexity. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Colli di Lapio 2022 Fiano di Avellino shows good freshness and fruit quality in a challenging and very hot vintage and is beautiful on both the nose and the palate. It opens with creamy citrus, golden apple and yellow papaya flavours. Mineral tones are gently woven in. The secret of this wine lies in the vineyard's high altitude, with vines planted at a cool 530 metres above sea level on volcanic soils." Wine Advocate
"A fine expression from a warmer year. Peach, raw almond, apricot kernel and a noble quinine bitterness embrace an inherent ripeness. An engaging column of saltiness and a stream of gentle, maritime freshness. Perfect balance, the result. In such vintages, there is always a tendency towards excess. The winners are those who avoid this. Here is an example." James Suckling
"Bright and juicy, with pineapple, peach, blood orange sorbet, pink grapefruit granita, anise hyssop and honeysuckle flavors. Silky on the palate and well-knit, sculpted by lively acidity and a nice push of minerality that shines on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Traces of camomile complement sweet flowers and crushed yellow apples when the Fiano di Avellino 2022 opens in the glass. It is tangy and fresh, with a slightly effervescent feel. Salty mineral tones provide an echo of excitement. Young peach and sage notes linger as the 2022 finishes crisp." Vinous

“Monte Carbonare” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO)
Soave Monte Carbonare is a beautiful, rich and mineral white wine. Complex aromas of apricot, citrus and orange, structured, expansive and fresh in flavour. Good ageing potential and highly drinky - ideally aerate sufficiently before drinking! SUPERIORE.DE
"Elegant, bright straw yellow colour with gold. Elegant, delicate citrus scent on the nose, fine flowers, green apple and a hint of tropical fruit, appears cool. Balanced on the palate, with great tension and beautiful play, stony, sparse and with great length." Falstaff
"The 2021 Soave Classico Monte Carbonare is decidedly savory, displaying notes of crushed rocks and dried flowers that give way to white peach and hints of gingery spice. It sweeps across the palate with a silky, textural wave of liquid florals and ripe pit-fruits, riding along a core of vibrant acidity. Notions of candied lime and saline minerals linger through the long and youthfully tense finale as the 2021 leaves a confectionary air of spice." Vinous
"Charming aromatic profile with a strong fruit centre lined with layers of herbs and nuts. Burgundian, nutty nuances, honey-glazed almonds, lemon curd and a hint of smoke lend the wine charm. Lively, acid-accentuated finish. Beautiful intensity and a great life ahead." Decanter
"Red volcanic iron soils with plenty of black basalt in the centre. Goes well with the later-ripening Garganega, while the screw cap promotes the freshness sought at this address. 6 ha. 60-70 year old vines in cooler sites that are rising to the crème de la crème of top sites as the climate warms. A richer wine than the younger Classico, but without the same cheeky vitality. While the Classico is an unbeatable everyday wine, this is a complex wine that demands food and a little more contemplation. Mirabelle plum, apricot pit, a hint of dried mango and plenty of smoky, sharp mineral grip, with dutiful freshness that has a chewy length. Drinkable now, but best from 2025." James Suckling
"Sixty-year-old plants which, thanks to the soil, in which the presence of black basalt plays an important role, and organic farming, provide a raw material of great crispness. On the nose, notes of lychee, yellow melon, hawthorn and field grass. Iodine-fruity on the palate with a floral finish." Luca Gardini

“Montebruna” Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2020
Fantastic Barbera from a world-famous vineyard, complex aromas of dark red, plump, juicy cherries, the finest spices and black forest berries on the nose. In the mouth, polished, dense, enormous amounts of glycerine and sweetish fruit, present but silky tannins, finely enveloped by the fruit, rich in finesse, persistent, first-class acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich garnet red in the glass. The nose is characterised by hazelnut and nougat, with a hint of mint, dark berry fruit and dried cherries also appear with air. Emphatically fruity on the palate, rich cherry fruit, finely chiselled acidity that gives it tension and freshness. Youthful with great ageing potential. Mature green notes. Alcohol is excellently integrated, appears slender, elegant and silky. Typical, pleasant bitter note on the long finish." Vinum
"Soft and imbued with cherry, blackberry and earthy flavours, this red wine is fleshy from start to finish. Almond and spice accents are evident on the finish, along with light tannins." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Barbera d'Asti Montebruna is a powerful and rich red wine with notes of ripe berries, roasted spices, cinnamon and grilled Mediterranean herbs. Despite its strength and vigour, the mouthfeel is supported by a fresh acidity and a strong alcohol content of 15%." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of cherry chocolate, dark liquorice, hints of bark and damp earth. Full-bodied with a velvety, supple tannin structure and a slightly chalky texture on the finish. Juicy and full of flavour." James Suckling
"The Barbera d'Asti Montebruna 2020 is dark and lush from the start. Spices, leather, tobacco, menthol, dried flowers and mocha all come together as this intense, lush Asti Barbera shows its considerable charm. In 2021, the Montebruna is quite dense and brooding, but all elements are impeccably balanced." Vinous
"This wine opens with aromas of fresh and macerated black cherries that transition to wild flowers, savoury spices and wild herbs. The palate is concentrated with lush ripe red and blackberries, cola and sweet spices. The wine is round and fleshy and is balanced by the natural acidity of the Barbera itself." Wine Enthusiast

Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi DOC 2022 (BIO)
This is a light-weight wine that is still rather fresh and cheerful when young, but which will develop into a highly complex and more than serious white wine over the years. In the still youthful, fresh bouquet, we already find a lot of minerality and fine yellow fruit notes, then on the palate a texture and depth that comes to the fore more and more at 2° higher drinking temperature and appropriate aeration. It will be even better in a few years - guaranteed! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Timorasso is gorgeous. Graphite, pear, chamomile, sage and dried herbs are delineated in this super-expressive white. As always, Timorasso is a white that emphasizes strong mineral and savory notes, while the fruit is in the background." Vinous

A red wine that takes hearts by storm with its lively, dancing and extremely fine nerve! SUPERIORE.DE

"A lively, straightforward red wine that produces flavours of black cherries, blackberries, liquorice and spices. Rich and dense, with a lively structure, it finishes with generous fruit and spice flavours." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico 2021, which has just been bottled, captures all the energy of the year in its bright, red fruit. Blood orange, mint, white pepper and lively acidity give the Chianti Classico a remarkable energy that sparkles with excitement. All of this is underpinned by plenty of fruit. Bright salty notes extend the finish wonderfully." Vinous

“Le Cinciole” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (BIO)
In 1991, Luca and Valeria Orsini gave up their work in Milan to produce wine in Tuscany. Their winery comprises 10 hectares of south-east facing vineyards in Panzano and the wines have been certified organic since 2000. This outstanding Annata opens discreetly on the nose with subtle scents of cherry blossom, heather and roses. On the palate, it is decidedly red-fruited with redcurrants and raspberries, embraced by finely structured, powdery and persistent tannins. It has a beautiful energy and above all lets the true charm of Sangiovese shine through. A real high-flyer in terms of authenticity every year! SUPERIORE.DE
"This is racy with red-fruited character, showcasing notes of dried orange peel, red licorice and chocolate. Medium-bodied with juicy acidity and velvety, soft tannins. Supple finish." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico is gorgeous. Wonderfully pure and bright, the 2020 conveys the essence of Sangiovese in its vibrant red-toned fruit. Sweet floral and spice notes appear in the glass, extending the mid-palate and finish effortlessly. All the elements are so nicely balanced. The 2020 is all class. Give it a year or two to soften. "The Nals Margreid 2020 Alto Adige Sauvignon Mantele is one of the classic white wines of this winery with exotic fruit, grapefruit and fragrant pear. This pretty wine is fresh and lean, with a good sense of tension and energy. It is the winery's "classic" interpretation of the grape variety, offering a little more structure on the finish. It plays its best cards in terms of mouthfeel. The Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted near the winery and are 40 to 45 years old. They are some of the first vines planted with Guyot in South Tyrol." Wine Advocate
"A ripe and complete Sauvignon Blanc with an amazing complexity of fresh herbs and a hint of passion fruit on the nose. Beautiful textural complexity on the concentrated but only moderately rich palate. Long, complex finish with stimulating herbal and mineral vitality." James Suckling

Pithos Rosso was fermented spontaneously in the amphora and is a paragon of vibrancy, freshness and elegance. Dried cherries, some leather and spices on the nose. Young and fresh on the palate, lively and yet extremely fragile. A perfectly crafted, mineral and highly unusual red that epitomises gentle biodynamics 100%. Be sure to aerate sufficiently before drinking! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Pithos Rosso is very fresh and exotic, with spiced citrus and incense developing into dried strawberries and sweet smoke. It washes over the palate with pretty inner sweetness and crisp red and blue berry fruit, all driven by juicy acidity. A cascade of inner flowers and citrus tones echo as the 2021 finishes with gently grippy tannins and remnants of spiced blackberry still lingering. A fantastic Pithos Rosso." Vinous
"It's surely one of the island's finest Nero d'Avola wines: bright and wild, it combines scents of black pepper, cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and fresh herbs. Succulent and with lovely fruit sapidity, it's totally drying in the mouth, leaving a fresh earthy, mineral finish which works for rather than against it. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
With the 2018 vintage, Camigliano joins the still very small community of certified organic winegrowers in Montalcino. Everything is in the right place here and Camigliano's 2018 edition of Brunello di Montalcino presents the classic vintage in a very appealing form. Accessible early on, it reveals its fruity bouquet with notes of Mediterranean scrub, small red berries and eucalyptus. The palate is then medium-bodied, the primary flavours are beautifully reflected here, its freshness and well-proportioned acidity allow it to dance into a remarkable finish. For us, this is a wonderful (and also very attractively priced) entry into the Sangiovese Olympus of Montalcino, fruit-orientated, graceful and full of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, warm red colour; ripe fruit notes, very appealing; lots of sweetness, juicy, warm, fruity length, off-dry, very appealing." Merum
"Bright, sparkling ruby red colour. Aromas of mint and fine wood, red berry fruit, a hint of tropical fruit, beautiful strawberry, complex, expressive nose. Polished and juicy on the palate, with radiant fruit, already wonderfully accessible, drinks very well." Falstaff
"The bouquet of the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits an almost candied quality, while sweet roses and medicinal cherries give way to nuances of shaved cedar and pine. This is a medium-bodied and graceful Sangiovese with a bright acidity that gives it an almost juicy character. Hints of strawberry and minty herbs resonate as it finishes only lightly structured but with admirable length. I wouldn't recommend long cellaring, but the 2018 will show wonderfully after just a few years." Vinous
"The Camigliano 2018 Brunello di Montalcino, a certified organic wine, is medium-dark in colour with round and ripe aromas of cherry confit, blackberry tart, black rose and balsamic herbs. The wine is structured and rich. This power deprives the delicate Sangiovese of its long-term potential and instead places the grape in a short or medium-term drinking window." Wine Advocate
"A ripe and full-bodied Brunello with intense notes of cassis, stewed plums and Kalamata olives. Also some grilled herbs. Broad and creamy tannins with lots of rich fruit. Concentrated and full of flavour." James Suckling
"Ripe and opulent, boasting macerated cherry, plum, eucalyptus and iron flavors matched to a muscular structure. Shows beefy tannins that take over on the finish, yet this feels balanced, with a beam of cherry persisting through the conclusion." Wine Spectator
"The nose offers cherries, vanilla and toasted coconut over aromas of leather, flint and redcurrants. On the palate, blackberries and dried cranberries emphasise the cherries, while dusty tannins swim in a dense undertow of chocolate and sambuca. A lively acidity ensures a long, warm finish." Barbaresco Serraboella DOCG 2018
Medium-bodied ruby red, fine rose bouquet with hints of tea and dried herbs. Beautiful black cherry aroma with well-integrated wood notes makes it a balanced and at no point intrusive wine. The 2016 climate also gave this Nebbiolo an impressive precision and straightness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; some fruit, tobacco; powerful, juicy, good tartness, very pleasant." Merum
"Developed-looking mid ruby with bricky rim. Brooding, complex, deep nose with a hint of Moroccan leather. Generous but not yet fully open fruit, stitched together by gorgeous chewy tannins and ripe acidity. Good medium-term potential." Jancis Robinson

“Bertone” Pinot Nero dell' Oltrepò Pavese DOC 2020
The first 1,850 Pinot Noir vines were brought to Italy from Burgundy by Count Vistarino back in 1865. Since then, the vinification of this demanding grape variety has been continuously refined over the generations. Today, the Pinot Noirs from the winegrowing dynasty can even outshine much more expensive Pinot Noirs from Burgundy at international tastings. The grapes for the winery's top crus are grown at an altitude of 400 metres, and the high temperature fluctuations between day and night ensure a complexity, precision and elegance that is rarely found even in Burgundy.
Brilliant ruby red colour. Delicately fruity nose of small red berries, coffee and hints of damp forest floor. Subtle and precise fruit on the palate, extremely fine tannins and a long, never-ending mineral finish. SUPERIORE.DE

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2022 secco · MAGNUM
Out with the clichés, in with the surprise! Paltrinieri's most famous Lambrusco wine will also delight every connoisseur. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling. This naturally cloudy, dry frizzante impresses on the nose with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus flavour and a hint of bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinkynature make it a racy accompaniment to savoury, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply a lively celebration in the midst of nature and cheerful people. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lambrusco di Sorbara is simply an insider tip for real sparkling wine freaks. Paltrinieri vinifies his Radice undegorged as a PetNat. There is a lot of rhubarb on the nose and then this gentle, warm note of yeast. It is really dry on the palate and revitalises the senses with its fresh acidity. Rhubarb again, and a fresh note of yellow lemons. A real appetiser that makes your mouth water." Vinum
"Aromas of candied citrus, white peach and musk melon, followed by pie crust and candy floss. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and a fine bead. Subtle flint minerality on the finish. Lively and aromatic wine." James Suckling
"The extremely elegant Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice 2022 is a pretty pink with orange-coloured reflections. It opens with a mixture of orange zest, tangerine and cracked slate. A silky pearl of bubbles unfurls on the palate, contrasted by an acidic burst of citrus, while exotic flowers and candied ginger nuances swirl through the nose. A subtle hint of grapefruit emerges in the crisp, refreshing final as the 2022 slowly tapers off. This Radice is a blockbuster. Savour it chilled for instant satisfaction, or let it warm slowly in a large glass with a bowl." Vinous
"A Sorbara vinified in purity as it has never been dared before, in a very relevant reading. A nose of wild strawberries and pepper leaf, with floral notes of iris, the mouthfeel is taut, savoury, with a fruity return and length." Luca Gardini
"This lightning bolt of a wine opens with aromas of tart red berries, ruby red grapefruit and fresh rose that pour out of the glass. The zippy palate continues the energy of the nose with flavors of sour cherry, pickled watermelon, wild mint and thyme all leading to a finish that seems to never end. Delish!" Wine Enthusiast

“u Baccan” Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC 2020
The Pigato grape has great ageing and maturation potential, especially in Liguria. U Baccan (Ligurian: the head) comes mostly from vines of the Russeghine vineyard, which are over 50 years old, produce a very low yield, and give it tremendous complexity.
Intense straw yellow with bright golden-green reflections. Impressive purity on the nose with beguiling hints of sage, thyme, peach, mango, cedar bark, acacia honey and silica. Enveloping, balsamic and mineral on the palate, then a hint of salty almond and candied citrus on the long, vibrant final. A Pigato in a class of its own in finest Riserva quality. SUPERIORE.DE

“St. Valentin” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020
Pinot Noir, which originates from France, has been cultivated in South Tyrol since 1850. The best sites, low yields, meticulous care and perfectionism in the cellar guarantee a fine, extremely sensual Pinot Noir with considerable ageing potential. Brilliant ruby-garnet colour. Delicious aromas of small berries, violets, cloves, smoke and vanilla. With age, the aroma gains interesting notes of porcini mushrooms and truffles. In the glass, the well-structured Pinot Nero Sanct Valentin shines with finesse, balance, spicy smoothness, fine tannins and a subtly integrated woody note. Pure seduction! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, medium ruby red colour. Distinctive bouquet, with aromas of ripe cherry, some blackberry and a hint of dark chocolate. Polished on the palate, elegant tannins and precise fruit, right through to the lingering finish." Falstaff
"The Pinot Noir Riserva Sanct Valentin 2020 shows good tension and energy despite the considerable heat during this growing season and is very aromatic. This pretty wine offers candied cherries, apricots, blue flowers and orange peel. The Pinot Noir grows on soils of glacial debris with gravel and limestone. These conditions enhance the freshness of the wine." Wine Advocate
"A very attractive and aromatic Pinot with notes of fresh cherries, raspberries, dried summer herbs, liquorice and crushed stones. Medium-bodied, round and structured on the palate with firm tannins. Juicy and crisp fruit with a hint of bitter orange on the finish. Bright and concentrated." James Suckling

“Misco” Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva DOC 2018
Tavignano's complex top product Misco Riserva represents the synthesis of the winery's Verdicchio expertise and is their most refined interpretation of the terroir. Starting with the grapes from the Cru Misco vineyard, those grapes are selected that can best develop first in steel and then in the bottle. This ageing highlights the richness of the grape variety, its spicy and mineral notes and provides the ideal conditions for a long ageing, maintaining its aromatic vivacity at all times. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, radiant straw yellow. Nose of sea salt, raspberries, pineapple, juicy pear and candied lemon zest and a hint of spice. Opens up on the palate with great play, savoury and clear, seems very noble, lingers long and polished on the final." Falstaff
"Ripe and seductive with some phenols and a hint of honey on the nose and palate. Rich and round with good acidity and freshness. Impressive length and intensity." Decanter
"The 2018 Verdicchio dei Castello di Jesi Riserva Misco holds its power in reserve, displaying a delicate but layered and sweet-smelling bouquet that blends white smoke with pretty flowers, chamomile, cardamom and melon. Its weighty, almost oily texture is balanced by a core of bright acidity, where lemon zest combines with green apple and a hint of ginger to create a satisfying and spicy experience. For all the depth and character the Riserva shows today, the best is yet to come. The finish is long and tense, but still leaves you wanting more, along with that textbook almond bitterness that goes on and on. Brava." Vinous

“Linticlarus” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2018
Ruby red Pinot Noir with garnet red shimmer. Fine fruity bouquet of wild berries and cherries. An elegant red, well-proportioned and never overloaded, but with a clear identity and elegant character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich sparkling ruby red with black-red accents. Pronounced aroma of heart cherries and ripe wild berries, a hint of white pepper and mocha on the nose. Taut and juicy, well-integrated tannin, balanced use of wood, ripe nuances, coherent, lively finish." Falstaff
"I love the interplay of delicately smoky oak and black cherry on the nose of this Sub-Alpine pinot noir. With some aeration, a freshly sliced red-beet note develops. Although the gentle tannins are slightly sappy, this fits very well with the medium-bodied, lively palate. Quite a dry, crisp finish that needs some time to harmonize further." James Suckling
"The Tiefenbrunner 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Linticlarus is a beautiful wine with a bit of spice and dried fruit, iron ore and blue flower, all woven together with a tight and seamless stitch. The wine plays forward over the palate with increasing intensity and balance. This is an elegant wine, and it's impossible not to be excited by these quality results with Pinot Noir from the far north of Italy. This expression concludes with length and a freshness that can be counted in minutes." Wine Advocate

The Slow Wine-Guide, first published in 2010, emerged from the Slow Food movement after they parted ways with the Gambero Rosso publishing house. The well-known Italian wine critics Giancarlo Gariglio and Fabio Giavedoni were able to recruit around 200 experienced tasters for their new project.
The success after more than 10 years proves the editors right, because in all regions of Italy, winegrowers have committed themselves to the Slow Food philosophy and produce their wines mindfully and sustainably in harmony with nature and with the claim to present the territorial identity in their products.
Today, more than ever, it is time to look at wine as a product in the light of advancing global warming. Expert Giancarlo Gariglio comments: "The vine is a very resistant plant, but it cannot resist forever. Every winegrower has to deal with different consequences, be it drought or hailstorms. We have been at a turning point for a long time: to protect the environment and the wine, we need to invest in research and also take ecological measures at the institutional level. It's essential to understand how to respond on the one hand and continue to produce in an environmentally friendly way on the other." And so, more than ever, the issue of sustainability takes on great weight, having always been the brand essence of the Slow Food movement and, by extension, of Slow Wine.
For the current 2023 edition, 1,957 wineries were visited and evaluated, 56 % of which practice certified organic or biodynamic farming. 63 % of the award-winning wines are produced according to organic or biodynamic methods. This year, an impressive 24,500 wines were presented to the sensitive palates of the 200 tasters, among which 787 top wines with an excellent organoleptic profile received special attention. The "Vino Slow" award was given to 386 wines, which present the identity of their homeland to a special degree and are vinified by winegrowers who completely renounce herbicides. The category "Everyday Wines" is filled by 156 wines, which are available in specialised shops for a maximum of 12 EUR thanks to a particularly attractive price-performance ratio.
Good to know: There is no point scoring, but descriptions of the farm philosophy, the vineyard sites and the wines that the tasters particularly liked - in other words: ecological thinking, regional grape varieties and fair prices.
We hope you enjoy this exciting selection, take your time browsing and of course enjoy it afterwards. SUPERIORE.DE
Vino Slow:
Wines that, in addition to their outstanding organoleptic qualities, express the terroir, history and environment of their place of origin. Likewise, their price-quality ratio is right, taking into account the place and time of their production. Only about 200 of the wines tasted each year receive this highest possible rating.
Great wine:
Wines with excellent organoleptic characteristics.
Everyday wine:
Wines with an excellent price-performance ratio that are offered in the trade for a maximum of 12 €.
