• Brunello di Montalcino "Montosoli" DOCG 2011

Brunello di Montalcino “Montosoli” DOCG 2011

Brunello di Montalcino from single vineyard Montosoli shows a lot of dynamism, concentration and extract. Deep garnet red, accompanied by complex aromas of herbs, currants, cherries, earth and tobacco. This persistent, full-bodied and spectacular Brunello will be at its best after a few years. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli provides us with one of the most beautiful tastes of Brunello in 2011. The secret here is that fruit is sourced from the Montosoli cru in the northern side of the appellation that performed very nicely in this warm vintage. The wine reaches excellent balance between power and elegance. It leaves a statement but never feels overwhelming. That intensity is presented in terms of fruit freshness, cherry, blackberry and currant. It also comes forth as spice, tobacco and leather. The mouthfeel is exceedingly smooth and silky. The tannins are integrated and soft. Montosoli is planted to a special clone that is grafted over when the vines die. The clone has never been replaced. Because the vineyard is located on the north side of the appellation, it was protected from the heat this vintage." Robert Parker

"A very ripe style with prune, berry and salted-nut aromas and flavors. Full body, savory intensity and a long, flavorful finish. Lots of juicy, fabulous fruit. Shows the greatness of the vineyard." James Suckling

"Complex aromas and flavors of macerated cherry, plum, eucalyptus, tobacco and mineral are the hallmarks of this sweet yet structured Brunello. Fine length." Wine Spectator

"Wild berry, sunbaked soil, chopped mint, leather and menthol aromas meld together on this on this impressive wine. The bright, juicy palate doles out ripe wild cherry, crushed raspberry, mint, anise, clove and a hint of tobacco. Fresh acidity and velvety tannins offset the chewy fruit flavors and lend balance." • "Gabbro" Rosso Toscana IGT 2011

      “Gabbro” Rosso Toscana IGT 2011

Gabbro is the essence of Montepelosos nobelster Cabernet Sauvignon vines - partly over 40 years old. Impressively complex bouquet of dark fruits, smoke and grilled vegetables. Reveals on the palate powerful and muscular his pedigree and his great class. Exquisite, complex, nuanced, persistent, long ... Gabbro offers really everything that belongs to an unforgettable wine experience. SUPERIORE.DE

"Montepeloso's 2011 Gabbro continues to come together in bottle. The warmth of the year has baked out some of the varietal notes that are usually present. Instead, the 2011 stands out for its intensity, volume and extroverted personality. In other words, exactly what one might expect from Suvereto in a warm year. Blackberry jam, mocha, smoke and tobacco all flow through to the huge finish." Antonio Galloni

"Sufficient fresh red fruits, marshmallow and a mixture of basil, rose and olive oil on the nose. Developing silky tannins with slight fresh wood and a layer of elegant velvet. Sexy finesse. Layers of fruit and tannin. All about texture and structure. Needs time in bottle: better after 2016." James Suckling

    • "Camartina" Rosso Toscana IGT 2008 (BIO)
MAGNUM in OWC

“Camartina” Rosso Toscana IGT 2008 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC

A wine of the extra class! In the intense fruity bouquet a fine mineral and toasty undertone, the elegant taste has a good weight and is complex and body accentuated. In the final the Camartina 2008 trumps with a remarkable endurance. SUPERIORE.DE

"Brilliant ruby with light violet tones. Very clear nose, smells of raspberry and blackberry. On the palate a lot of firm tannin, builds up well, looks a bit rough, but in the finale full pressure and long aftertaste, should develop very well with a bit of maturity." Falstaff

"This blend opens with ripe aromas that recall blueberry and strawberry jam, followed by notes of spice, chocolate and moist tobacco. The finish is soft and velvety, and it comes with a touch of plush richness. This is complex and balanced." Wine Enthusiast

"The 2008 Camartina comes across as rather understated in this vintage. Dark fruit, spices, leather and tobacco are some of the aromas and flavors that take shape in the glass. Mineral notes appear later to frame the long, vibrant finish." Robert Parker

"A wine with a meaty, spicy, dried berry, and cedar character. Full and chewy. This is very powerful, but a little rustic too. Made from organic grapes. Give it three to four years of bottle age." James Suckling

    • Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2004
MAGNUM in OWC

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2004 · MAGNUM in OWC

Very dark colour and a memorable, dense fragrance of ripe cherry fruit, violet and undergrowth. Inviting on the palate, slim and firm, tannin and acidity very well integrated into the juicy fruit. An adult wine with the typical fruity charm of the excellent Tuscany vintage 2004. SUPERIORE.DE

"Rich, sparkling ruby. Multilayered, after ripe plums, some leather and mushrooms in the background. "Stoffig und gripping, full-bodied, pithy tannin, covered with fine fruit melt, salty." Falstaff "Barbecue smoke and mesquite wood are the most immediate aromas you will notice here. You'll also recognize background tones of black peppercorn, lead pencil and licorice. The wine delivers loads of intensity in the mouth." Wine Enthusiast
