On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Poliziano winery releases a limited edition wooden box of 6 bottles, consisting of:
2 bottles à 0,75l | "Asinone" Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2013"The 2013 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is impeccable. Dark red and bluish-hued notes abound. There is an element of weightlessness to the 2013 that is quite appealing. Lavender, licorice, cloves and mint are some of the nuances that develop in the glass." Vinous

2 bottles à 0,75l | "Asinone" Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016Within its dense, intense hue lies a lush bouquet whose fruity allusions to blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm palate, the smooth tannin is well blended with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"A firm, silky red with dark-berry, chocolate and almond aromas and flavors, as well as dark chocolate. Full to medium body. Chewy tannins and a flavorful finish." James Suckling

2 bottles à 0,75l | "Asinone" Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2018"The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone shows the more delicate side of this cru. Crushed rose petal, red cherry, mint, leather and dried herbs are all very nicely lifted. Gracious and silky on the palate, with superb balance, the 2018 Asinone is a winner from Poliziano. Readers will find a Vino Nobile that decidedly favors elegance over heft." Vinous
"Dark-cherry aromas with nutmeg and flowers follow through to a full body with firm, linear tannins that are polished and beautiful at the end. Succulent and attractive now, but will age nicely." James Suckling

"Inviting aromas of cherries and black pepper, also fine spicy notes; polished and balanced texture, fine-grained tannins, precisely dimensioned, finely tart and stimulating long finish. Combines elegance with richness of facets." Vinum
"Intense, sparkling ruby with a light garnet rim. Intense, multi-layered nose, shows notes of blackberry, dark cherries, behind it cardamom and cloves. Compact and rich in attack and course, very well integrated, fleshy tannins, lots of ripe fruit, juicy and long, great fun." Falstaff
"The 2012 Chianti Classico Vigneto San Marcellino shows the intensity of the year in its radiant, super-ripe fruit. At nearly five years of age, the 2012 is starting to show the first signs of aromatic development. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade." Vinous
"A note of pure cherry is underlined by vivid acidity and dusty tannins. Tobacco, iron, leather, earth and tar flavors add depth as this cruises to a lingering finish." Wine Spectator

"Deep and impenetrable. Intense and compact nose, shows notes of blackberry and raspberry, beetroot and coriander in the background. Powerful and gripping in the attack and course, opens with dark berry fruit, very powerful, lots of dense tannin that is wonderfully supple at the same time, long final with notes of tobacco." (5th place out of 100 "Best 100 under 100 €") Falstaff
"Aromas of orange peel, bark and cherries follow through to a full body with chewy tannins. A juicy finish. The wood is still showing a lot here, but it will come around in another year or two." James Suckling
"Lustrous deep ruby. Closed nose with hints of beef stock. Still youthful and compact on the palate but with a fine, concentrated core of sweet-sour cherry with acidic nerve. Medium-bodied but still lush fruit sensations and gorgeous mouth-filling tannins." Jancis Robinson
"A dazzling, explosive wine, the 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino is endowed with serious aromatic presence, color intensity and overall depth. Dark red and purplish-fruit, exotic, spice and leather are all boldly sketched in a vivid, stunning Chianti Classico that comes alive in the glass. The tannins are present, but they are nearly buried by the sheer richness of the fruit. What a stunningly beautiful wine this is. After a trio of warm vintages, 2013 was a welcome change." Vinous

"Sparkling ruby with a slight violet hue. Rich nose with notes of ripe blackberries and dark cherries, lightly tarry in the background. Juicy and present in attack and course, very well integrated tannin, in addition appealing sweet melting, firm pressure." Falstaff
"Deep, lustrous ruby. Complex and pure on the nose with delicately handled oak management having just added a tiny hint of the barriques. Juicy cherry and raspberry fruit with finely grained long tannins. Fantastic focus and length and with lots of juice on the finish. Its elegance belies the 15% this actually has. Still a little closed, so I would cellar this for another two years. There is no great hurry." Jancis Robinson
"A balanced, refined red with plum, cherry and chocolate character, as well as walnut. It’s medium-bodied with juicy fruit and a savory finish. Complex and pretty." James Suckling
"A broad, dense red, with ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry flavors, framed by vibrant acidity and burly tannins. Earth, sanguine and tobacco accents chime in. All the components are proportioned correctly, but this will take some time to integrate fully. Fine length and freshness. Best from 2022." Wine Spectator
"A selection made from the San Marcellino vineyard which includes a plot of 50-year-old vines. The soil here is extremely rocky, composed mainly of alberese - a hard marl rich in calcium carbonate which tends to give deeply coloured wines. There is a lot to love in this wine. Enticing red and black currants are demurely nuanced with toast and spice. Ample and mouth filling without being heavy, the palate is abundantly layered with velvety textured tannins. Purity of fruit is preserved throughout and this finishes with mouth-watering salinity." Decanter
"The 2015 Chianti Classico Vigneto San Marcellino is fabulous. Sweet red cherry, red plum, mint, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, licorice, blood orange and dried herbs all race out of the glass. The Sangiovese is so expressive. Even so, the 2015 is a wine of reserve. I would cellar it for at least a few years, as it has clearly entered a period of post-bottling closure. Its energy and vibrancy are notable." Vinous

“Cassetta Storico Monte Lodoletta” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2008 | 2009 · 3 Bottles in OWC
Under the name "Cassetta Storico Monte Lodoletta", Romano dal Forno brings to market at irregular intervals a selection of choice top vintages that have been held back for many years and have been able to continue maturing carefully in the bottle in their own cellars. SUPERIORE.DE
2 bottles à 0,75l | "Monte Lodoletta" Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2008Sparkling, rich ruby with a light garnet edge. Intense bouquet of dark berries, plums, slightly raisiny, very balanced. On the palate almost explosive and multi-layered, with a wonderfully smooth texture like velvet and silk, then soft, sweetish and dense tannin, builds up endlessly. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella is compelling. With a little air, the tannins begin to soften, releasing a myriad of intense dark aromas and flavors. Bittersweet chocolate, cloves, violets, plums and blackberry jam cover every inch of the palate in a stunning, headspinning Amarone that captures all of the best qualities of the year. When Romano Dal Forno's wines are on, there is nothing quite like them, and that is certainly the case here. If opened young, the 2008 needs a little air. Actually, a lot of air." Vinous

1 bottle à 0,75l | "Monte Lodoletta" Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2009Monte Lodoletta 2009 exudes remarkable warmth and ripeness, with deep layers of Venezuelan dark chocolate, herbs, liquorice, smoke, dark fruit and toasted oak. For such a big wine, this Amarone has remarkable detail and nuance, and in an explosive style. On the palate, flavours of black plum, coffee liqueur, spice, tobacco, vanilla and herbs abound. A high alcohol, heady wine that is not for those who believe that less can be more. Everything is here in exuberant volume and it takes hours to get through this wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta is a full and generous expression that delivers thick lines and robust flavors of dried blackberry, camphor ash, exotic cedar wood, licorice and tarry road pavement. This vintage saw average temperatures throughout the growing season with a few hailstorms along the way. Very dry weather led to some mild drought in July and August, with ensuing ripening and concentration of the clusters. I found this monumental wine to be irresistible when I first tasted it five years ago, and I consider it to have improved since then. This is one of the most complete and comprehensive vintages produced at Dal Forno, and it gives us an ample 360-degree view onto the might, brawn and potential of this icon wine from the Veneto. Its evolutionary track shows no sign of slowing down." Robert Parker

Rare vertical in high quality wooden box of 6: Exclusive and strictly limited selection of the historic vintages 2010, 2011 and 2012 of one of Bolgheri's most famous wines. Also included is the anniversary vintage 2010 with special label "25 anni".
2 bottles à 0,75l | "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2010
Elegant, finesse-rich 2010 and thus the 25th edition of this cult classic with anniversary label: Complex, racy and delicately floral aroma of fully ripe cherries and black berries with noble, excellently integrated wood aromas. The tremendously harmonious taste reveals an impeccable fruit, dense, juicy and powerful, with melting, present tannins and ends in a decidedly powerful, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, impenetrable ruby with violet glints. Opens with discreet spicy notes, after tobacco, then lots of rich cassis notes, some elderberries. Shows a lot of fine, sturdy tannin on the palate, builds up in layers, deep and salty, long final and rich pressure, lots of tobacco." Falstaff
"Poured from the special anniversary bottle, the 2010 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia is a truly outstanding wine that leaves a lasting memory for those who are lucky enough to enjoy it. What stands out is the absolutely seamless-seamless-seamless (yes, it's worth repeating three times) integration of its many moving parts. The wine magically transitions from cherry, spice, chocolate and espresso in one melodic and continuous loop. It exudes balance and elegance over long, delicious minutes. It is profoundly impressive." Robert Parker
"One of the highlights of the vintage on the Tuscan coast, the 2010 Ornellaia is dazzling. A tightly wound, powerful wine, the 2010 is going to need a few years in the cellar to show the full breadth of its potential and class. Still, it is impossible to miss the wine's pure pedigree and class. Freshly cut flowers, mocha, tobacco, grilled herbs and plums burst from the glass in this beautifully layered, polished Ornellaia. The 2010 is vivid, nuanced and precise from start to finish. I can't wait to see how it develops over the coming years. Today, the 2010 is all about precision, vibrancy and saline-infused energy. I very much like the way the wine continues to open up in the glass." Vinous

Characterised by sunshine, the early 2011 vintage expresses its characteristics at the highest level. It presents itself to the eye with a young and intense colour. The nose registers intense, fully ripe and at the same time fresh and vibrant fruit aromas, which are underpinned by delicate balsamic hints and toasted notes. On the palate, its great concentration is striking, accompanied by an impressive but also velvety and polished tannic structure, allowing it to fully expand in the mouth without leaving a feeling of heaviness. On the finish, balsamic and spicy tones and a welcome note of freshness linger for a long time. Ornellaia 2011 is an awe-inspiring masterpiece. Depth, richness, elegance, ultra-fine tannins, lots of potential, but already a great drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, impenetrable ruby violet. Initially shows emphatic mineral notes, then lots of ripe dark currants, some blueberries, behind that rich liquorice and dark chocolate. Fills out the palate powerfully, very dense, compact tannin, lots of tobacco, cassis rich, profound, reverberating of noble cigars, very long." Falstaff
"This shows incredible concentration with dark-berry, dark-chocolate, mint and rosemary character. Full body with a superb depth of fruit and polished tannins. It's chewy but caressing. This needs at least four or five years to come around. Powerful and intense. Yet it remains fresh and bright." James Suckling
"The 2011 Ornellaia is another gorgeous wine. Mocha, plums, tobacco and licorice blossom from the glass in a rich, seamless wine endowed with stunning depth. Savory notes develop later, adding depth and resonance." Vinous
"A dark, inky red, featuring violet, black currant, cedar, sandalwood and iron aromas and flavors. Nonetheless, this comes across as elegant, even as the tannins prove formidable on the finish. A terrific young wine in the making." Wine Spectator

The 2012 vintage is an awe-inspiring masterpiece. Depth, richness, elegance, ultra-fine tannins, lots of potential, but already a great drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"2012 was a sunny and predominantly dry year. The rains came just in time before the harvest, allowing the vines to recover wonderfully from the drought and excessive heat and to ripen homogeneously. The wines are wide and generous, their character highly seductive and flattering, not to say enchanting. Ornellaia 2012 presents itself in a rich ruby red, the intense nose is wonderfully fruity and spicy. On the palate, it reveals itself to be wide and round, without rough edges, with smooth tannins. Of course, 2012 does not lack the proverbial concentration that characterises all great Ornellaia vintages; but this vintage hides it behind a generous and lush structure and finishes with a long final." Axel Heinz, Director
"Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate water edge. Black berries, cassis and liquorice, candied violets, mineral touch, fine noble wood note. Complex, taut, fine nougat, present, carrying tannin that still needs a lot of time, dark berry fruit in the finish, mineral, please wait ..." Falstaff
"This seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Merlot (27%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (7%) shows some of the roundness and softness of that summer heat. The wine's density and extraction are spot-on and the bouquet is beautifully shaped by dark cherry nuances with spice, leather and tobacco at the back. There is a gorgeous sense of richness and plushness here." Robert Parker
"The 2012 Ornellaia has put on quite a bit of weight since I first tasted it from bottle a few months ago. Rich, powerful and concentrated, the 2012 offers plenty of depth and intensity, with expressive fruit and striking mid-palate intensity. Dark red cherry jam, wild flowers, licorice, smoke, tobacco and mint blossom in the glass. There is a very slight element of dryness in the tannin that is the signature of a year in which ripening took place in fits and starts. It will be interesting to see if that note softens over time." Vinous
"A tight and silky red with compacted fruit and tannin texture featuring blackcurrant, mushroom and bark undertones. Full body, firm tannins and a minerally finish. Excellent structure and mouthfeel. A cooler style of Ornellaia, bringing it back to the classicism of this celebrated region." James Suckling
