“Core” Aglianico Campania IGT 2016 · Special Edition “Core Mio” in Gift-Box

1 bottle of Core 2016 in a beautiful, high-quality gift box in a small edition. Careful when opening, many silky hearts could fall out ...

"Today we need lighter wines, they fit better to our hectic life", says the wise Silvia Imparato. And so we celebrate her second wine - an Aglianico with a fresh fruit scent and lively taste, elegant and complex without any trace of opulence. As we like it! SUPERIORE.DE

"Extremely well crafted with ultra-fine tannins and beautiful and subtle aromas and flavors of black fruit, black pepper and white pepper. Medium to full body. Polished and so enjoyable to taste. Can age beautifully." James Suckling

"Very deep purple-ruby; this is very dark for an Aglianico wine. Delicate on the nose and remarkably light on its feet, offering sweet blueberry, red cherry, sweet spice and floral flavors, similar to the aromas, that linger impressively on the juicy, long, clean finish. A knockout wine, and the best Aglianico ever from Montevetrano." Vinous

    • "Castel Chiuro" Valtellina Superiore Riserva DOCG 2009

“Castel Chiuro” Valtellina Superiore Riserva DOCG 2009

120 years after the foundation of the winery, a new edition of a classic with special equipment (including a bound history booklet) is launched on the market. This high quality Nebbiolo comes from about 50 years old vines in the vineyards Sassorosso and Sassina, where the soils are very barren and stony. Clear ruby red, rich on the palate, powerful and complex with a wonderful elegance. The finesse and precision of the Nebbiolo grape are captivating from the first sip, and with increasing ventilation this rare drop reveals its complexity and structure. An anniversary wine, as it is written in the book! SUPERIORE.DE

"This is a gorgeous and beautifully aged expression of Nebbiolo from the high mountains in the far north of Italy. The 2009 Valtellina Superiore Riserva Castel Chiuro absolutely blossoms in the glass with rose petal, violets, wild blueberry and more tangy forest fruit. The wine shows a long and pleasurable succession of small red berry aromas such as cassis and raspberry. Those polished and elegant primary tones are followed by light brushstrokes of smoke, licorice and tar. This wine is an absolute beauty." Robert Parker

“Valmaggiore Sibi et Paucis” Nebbiolo d’Alba Riserva DOC 2013 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Luciano has been holding back a small amount of his Nebbiolo Valmaggiore for several years now and has it matured further on the bottle in his cellar. The result is a result under the name "Sibi et Paucis", which impressively underpins the cult status of his "little Barolo". Ruby red and with a phenomenal fragrance - balsamic and earthy, but also fine-fruity. The disciplined taste with the wonderfully balanced, velvety tannins merges into a long aftertaste and is accompanied by fine fruit and mint aromas. Wonderful elegance with even more ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE

“Vigna Pirchschrait” Konrad Oberhofer Gewürztraminer Rarità Alto Adige DOC 2006 · 0,75l in OWC

This dry Gewürztraminer from the Pirchschrait vineyard near Kolbenhof is intended as a homage to Konrad Oberhofer, who was the first to vinify the grapes of individual vineyards separately in the 1930s. The grandfather of Martin Foradori Hofstätter was a pioneer of thinking in plots. His aim was to make it possible to experience the special character of each location in the wine.

After ten years of maturation on the fine yeast in 500 litre barrels, the Gewürztraminer develops a dense texture without losing freshness. The fine yeast also gives it a charming aroma of toasted bread, medlars, blossom honey and dried fruits. On the other hand, the fruit sweetness, which is already low, declines discreetly in the years of ripening, while the minerality gains expression. In the glass, the top-growing Pirchschrait captivates with a subtle play of flavours. SUPERIORE.DE

“Vecchie Viti del Salco” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 (BIO) · 3 Flaschen in Gift Box

Just 3,500 bottles from the yield of the oldest vines of the Salco vineyard are sold with beautiful labels in a fancy 3-bottle box. In the glass, we are delighted by an extremely elegant Sangiovese with a very harmonious texture and very classic, earthy-spicy notes. SUPERIORE.DE

"Dark luminous, elegant and deep ruby red. Spicy-meaty nose at first, opens on classy rosemary notes, dried tomato, then lovely cherry. Punchy on the palate with tightly woven tannin, tense, salty mineral on the back end, great length." Falstaff

"From Salcheto's 2-hectare Salco vineyard, the Vecchie Viti is a selection of the oldest vines, which are upwards of 30 years old. After ageing in a combination of large cask and small tonneaux, this spends an additional 2 years in bottle before release. Yet it is still very nascent in expression. Smoke and mint emerge slowly weaving through wild berries. There is an irony undertow on the palate which is dense, ripe, concentrated and securely fastened by firm tannins. This is sinewy in its muscle and above all sophisticated." Decanter

"The Salcheto 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vecchie Viti del Salco (made from organic fruit) occupies that special place between primary and tertiary intensity. The bouquet reveals plum and dried cherry aromas, but it also shows oxidative aromas of tar, spice and a touch of dried fruit or apple skin. This open-knit wine is drinking nicely right now. Made from old vines, this is an accessible wine of personality." Robert Parker

"New leather, forest-berry and rose aromas shape the enticing nose on this radiant red along with a balsamic whiff of camphor. The firm, elegantly structured palate features ripe Marasca cherry, black raspberry, licorice and crushed mint framed in tightly wound, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. It's linear and still youthfully austere, with great aging potential. Drink 2023–2036." Wine Enthusiast

    • Barolo "Le Vigne Sibi et Paucis" Riserva DOCG 2009
3 Bottles in OWC

Barolo “Le Vigne Sibi et Paucis” Riserva DOCG 2009 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Luciano has been holding back a small quantity of his Barolo Le Vigne for a few years now, and has allowed it to mature further on the bottle in his cellar. The result is a result called "Sibi et Paucis", an impressive and rare opportunity to experience the wonderful ageing potential of its great Baroli.

This is pure class and breed and this is just about to enter many more years of maturity, if not decades. In purism and purity unsurpassable Barolo. Polished and deep bouquet with an impressive and multi-layered spice potpourri, rounded off by aniseed and some liquorice. In the drink a subtle red complex fruit, some smoke, undergrowth - flanked by fresh, self-confident tannins, which spin from the wine an almost unique total work of art. In the finish long and as multi-layered as the first time ... SUPERIORE.DE

"For a 2009, this shows exceptional concentration and life on the nose with dark cherries, dried meat, blackcurrants, bracken, tar and a hint of treacle tart and tobacco. On the palate, this is full-bodied, big and muscular but elegant and precise, framing sturdy tannins against a backdrop of dark fruit and zippy acidity." James Suckling

"A ten-year late release, the 2009 Barolo Le Vigne Sibi et Paucis offers plenty of dense, black fruit, along with succulence and plumpness. This vintage of Le Vigne sourced fruit from Monforte d’Alba, but this is no longer the case in the vintage to follow. The tannic structure is there, and this wine seems to be held together with a magical string. You'll find warm, earthy tones covering the whole mouth evenly. As elegant as this Barolo is, I'd be tempted to pair its dark fruit and earthy notes with a simple homemade pasta with sausage, onion and sautéed chanterelles or any other home-cooked dish that is near to your heart." • Barolo Cannubi Boschis "Sibi et Paucis" Riserva DOCG 2009
3 Bottles in OWC

Barolo Cannubi Boschis “Sibi et Paucis” Riserva DOCG 2009 · 3 Bottles in OWC

Luciano has been holding back a small amount of his Barolo Cannubi Boschis for a few years now and lets it mature further on the bottle in his cellar. The result is a result called "Sibi et Paucis", an impressive and rare opportunity to experience the wonderful ageing potential of its great Baroli.

Fine bouquet of flowers and red berries. Already on the palate then liquorice, tar, dried violets and mint, white truffles and a hint of damp earth. A complex drop, which inspires with its structure, the tannins and the fresh acidity and also today stands only at the beginning of its still to be expected large ripeness. SUPERIORE.DE

"The 2009 Barolo Cannubi Boschis Sibi et Paucis starts off with minerality and tightness, and then within just a few moments in the glass it becomes more robust and generous, opening quickly with each successive sip. Dark black fruit begins to appear, and then some of the minty notes that Cannubi Boschis vines tend to offer, as well as hints of rubbed rosemary. Also, the wine covers the whole mouth very nicely. This is going to be a rare find at just 900 bottles set apart for this late release, which is about 10% of production on the whole. This is a special Barolo, definitely a keeper." Robert Parker
