“Piancarda” Rosso Conero DOC 2020
Rosso Piancarda is intensely flavoured and perfumed, with medicinal cherries and raspberries complemented by dusty roses and sweet cedar wood notes. On the palate, Piancarda turns to the savoury spectrum. Salty and full of savoury minerality, it shows spicy red fruits, a hint of plum and a lively acidity that keeps the expression fresh. The annual wine guide "Bibenda Vini d'Italia, Grappe e Ristoranti, l'Orchestra Italiani" with more than 2.000 pages is taken from the former publication "duemilavini"which was published together with the Sommelierverand. Until 2013, the renowned wine guide was published under the name Duemilavini. In the Bibendaannual digital edition, published in November, the members of the Italian Sommelier Association AIS have summarized their tasting results. Here wines from all over Italy are discussed, which are vividly arranged according to the different cultivation areas. In addition to the best wines and the most important wineries, the best restaurants in Italy are also awarded prizes.
The editor-in-chief of this wine guide is Franco M. Ricci, President of the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS). The wines are criticized by the critics – like the predecessor Duemilavini – are assessed according to a strict 100-point scheme and the top wines are rated with up to "Cinque Grappoli" (Five grapes) was awarded. More than 20,000 wines from more than 1,600 producers are tasted each year, with only 400 to 500 wines receiving the highest rating each year. The compendium is supplemented by an evaluation of 26 grappa distilleries and a guide to over 1,700 Italian restaurants.
