Giorgio Rivetti ist einer der großen Beweger im Piemont. Er ist das Zentrum der "Barolo-Boys" , jener Gruppe dynamischer und ungemein erfogreicher Weinmacher wie Domenico Clerico, Elio Altare, Lucio Sandrone und andere.
Giorgio Rivetti kommt aus dem Astigiano. Sein "Hauswein" ist deshalb Moscato d'Asti. Seit einigen Jahren konzentriert er sich aber mehr auf Rotweine. Sein erster großer Wurf war der Pin", ein im Barrique ausgebauter Mischsatz aus Barbera und Nebbiolo. Der Pin 1990 hat auf Anhieb die begehrten drei Gläser des Gambero Rosso bekommen und er hatte einen Spitzenplatz im Barbera-Test der Zeitschrift "Feinschmecker". Weitere große Rotweine folgten.

The Barbera seems to provide a core of gorgeous, expressive fruit while the Nebbiolo gives the wine its sense of proportion. Everything is beautifully balanced in this highly pleasing red. This is a beautifully delineated Barbera with gorgeous freshness and clarity that carries through to the refined finish.
